Animated Actors?

A TWF/BATIM crossover no one wanted but the years lined up at one point and well. CD is what CD does No triggers that I could see, but if you think something should be tagged please let me know.

Had a strange visit today. Two young boys, around the age I was when I moved up here. Jack and Felix, their names were. Jack reminded me a lot of myself, in a way. He was all excited, spouting ideas faster than I could keep up. Felix, who was like Henry but shier, had to translate for him somewhat literally. (I believe he was speaking Spanish at some points?) The two had come up with the idea of animated actors, they said. Non-human actors. Like living cartoons, but different. Of course I had tried that earlier and they knew that, it turns out that's why they were there. "The thing is, Mr. Drew," Jack said after he had finally calmed down a little, "We don't know how to go about it." Felix shook his head. "Still don't." "No, we still don't." Jack reached into the leather bag hanging off his shoulder. "But I happened to find this in a book store, and after reading it I knew we had to find you." The Illusion Of Living. I thought it had gone out of print by now, but apparently not. Either that or he'd managed to find it in a used book store. "You wanted to try the same thing." Jack was starting to get excited again, flapping his hands vigorously. "If you told us how, maybe we could do it!" "I-If you don't mind, that i-is," Felix stammered. "You want me to...Advise you?" Felix glanced at Jack. They shared a look I couldn't read and Jack nodded, making Felix look back at me. "W-We do." To this day, I don't know what possessed me to get up from the table. To look down at the two men-boys, really; one wringing his hands to stop flapping them and the other taking off his glasses to nervously play with them. Neither one looked me in the eye. Neither one wanted to back down, either. Maybe it's because I saw myself in one of them. Or maybe it's because I knew if I said no, they wouldn't leave me alone until I changed my mind. "Boys?" They both looked up. Jack still wouldn't look me in the eye for longer than a second. Still, I figured he was the leader of the two, so I held my hand out to him and he shook it. "You've got yourself a deal." I don't think I've ever seen someone smile so wide.

Anyway, all these new anti-rwde bitches need to just get up out of here, bringing in these arguments that have been hashed out years ago. -The rwde tag is for anything negative. You don't like it? Block it and the people in it and move the fuck on. -The Jaune h8 has been here since v1, with his arc and his infatuation with Weiss beginning, he asked Weiss out only twice in v2, but both were during incredibly inappropriate times or in underhanded ways and on top of him making her uncomfortable in the locker room in v1. The third time he goes to ask her out, he only backs off because he thought she was going with someone else. Because no only means no if you're taken, right? It was a joke taken too far and expressed in a toxic way and the whole thing only ended with Neptune and Jaune discussing going after Weiss like she was a prize. All of this came up before rw/by chi/bi was even a brain fart and that, while not canon, continued to express that toxic ideal as though it should be normalized. And the problem with it can't be brushed off as "he's just trying to be confident, it's no big deal" when women experience these same transgressions day in and day out. To a male or to someone who has thankfully never been harassed before, this may seem like an exaggeration, but it's not. And it can be scary when some 'nice guy' approaches you at school or work, where you're trapped for hours on end, or lies about what he wants to get you to open your door and you can't tell if turning him down with make you end up on the evening news or not. A lot of people, myself included, saw our harassment experiences mirrored in the way Jaune approached Weiss. And then we have people telling us that we're overreacting when the show is making light of this kind of harassment because Jaune is harmless and means well. -Another issue that cropped up was the lack of skin tone diversity in v1, and v2 to a smaller extent. So that's where black Blake came about. Back then there was no question that she was a white European character based on the French beauty and the beast. But twf was set up as a racial allegory mirroring the struggle of the black panther party and their more overtly violent counterparts. Which is a thing of itself, But i digress. Because of the racial allegory of the faunus and twf and the lack of dark skinned characters, a lot of people began to draw Blake with dark skin and it's a style choice that many have kept even now. I'm sure there's some other stuff I'm forgetting, but those are early fandom problems TL;DR? Don't talk about shit like you know what happened if your ass wasn't here in the beginning. You see something you don't understand? Ask before jumping down someone's throat or you're an asshole

Dude, you need to rethink what you’re doing before jumping in like this. This post doesn’t have much to do with RWBY or RWDE really, just a lot of faulty arguments.

1- call attention to the fact he believes that just because someone has committed what he BELIEVES to be a logical fallacy that their argument is suddenly void and invalid which in and of itself is the “fallacy fallacy.” He firmly believes that by pointing out a fallacy he’s completely destroyed the argument which is not only incorrect because the inherent lack of stated fallacy by Kob, but also because an argument that presents a fallacy is not inherently incorrect. But only someone actually familiar with these fallacies would know that and kob has proven time and again he is not

Incorrect. Fallacy fallacy implies that my conclusion to the fallacy is that he is wrong.

But if you take a look at what I said:

Here we seen an example of the person attacking the person and not the argument which is known as “Ad Hominin” while using loaded words to sway public opinion to their side known as “Manipulative language”. Not even a paragraph in and the person has already shown an inability to even debate properly.

I never dismissed their argument. While you could say I was looking down on the argument for being fallacious, I am not dismissing it as I have an example of me pointing of a logical fallacy and dismissing the argument.

Now we see a use of the logical fallacy known as “Buzzwords” as we seen here with “gaslighting” which is a logical fallacy used to sow distrust in people by making them question their own memory and sanity. However, we do not see the OP at all question the reblogger’s sanity or memory. Thus the above is simply using the negative implications of the word to slander the OP.

But here, I show why the argument is incorrect as the argument at and does not connect to what their opponent is saying.

The two are clearly different from each other because the second is about disproving an argument a nd the other is about showing the fallacies in it because the first is a judgement about a subjective look at OP’s arguments when in reality, there is no way to get an objective view because even asking OP could result in them giving a biased answer. There is no way to argue it because every argument would be a statement of opinion. So0 instead, I showed that my opponent was using fallacies in order to show why their arguments are untrustworthy.

2- Kob’s so wrapped up in his crusade against RWDE and has YET to realize that he’s fighting- not a hivemind of people all with similar thoughts and opinions and a desire to engage him in debate- but DOZENS of different bloggers all with different and often conflicting opinions. He’s so concerned with “Rwde being the worst members of the fndm” that he hasn’t actually realized that “Rwde” IS NOT A PERSON. It’s not even a concept. IT’S A TAG USED BY PEOPLE TO ARCHIVE THEIR NEGATIVE COMMENTARY. The phrase “I hate Jaune Arc for no reason in particular” is just as likely to be in the RWDE tag as a twelve page thesis on why Jaune Arc is a bad character who’s done nothing but detract from the show. But Kob hasn’t realized this yet and lumps people’s shitposts and general negative commentary with actual think-pieces and assumes that because the op tagged RWDE that they’re somehow related or even aware of each other. He’s created an “us vs them” mentality where the “them” is anyone who’s ever used this tag for any reason whatsoever and it’s ASTOUNDING how obtuse he has to be to not have realized that he’s fighting a losing battle against a TAG especially considering his own CRTQ tag failed to gain any real traction outside of his own group

Appeal to motive.

You are dismissing my arguments simply because of what you assume my motive is. And while this does look like a fallacy fallacy: Look at the above and tell me where an argument pertaining to my arguments outside of their motive exists.

The answer is: nowhere. There entire paragraph here is an argument about my motive and not my argument. It basically boils down to “Since KOB has a motive against the RWDE tag, then his entire argument is invalid!” with no other arguments. 

And while this might be worth looking into if my entire post was about the RWDE tag: it’s not. In fact, I only refer to a group ONCE.

I do declare: Shouldn’t that line of reasoning apply to the entirety of the group you are defending? They exhibit the exact same behavior as you accuse the OP and unlike the OP, the group here has a history of lying and attacking and is widely regarded as the worst of this here fandom. So perhaps you should heed your own advice?

And the fact of the matter is: Tis only tangently connects to the RWDE tag. People who think that the show belongs to them, in the RWDE tag or not, are in fact the worst people in the fandom. It doesn’t matter if they like RWDE, hate it or is even knowledgeable about them: Because of their tendency to force their opinions on other people as well as their massive hostility and entitlement makes them the worst of the fandom. RWDE has this aspect but they don’t have sole ownership of it.

This argument doesn’t even connect directly to RWDE nor is there any evidence I was referring to rwde. This is just about arguing a supposed motive to dismiss my arguments without addressing them. And while I may do it and I will work on that, that doesn’t give them the right to do it. Just means we’re both wrong.

3- “no such thing as a bad trope” while I am oh so disturbingly inclined to agree with him on this he fails to realize that his “tropes are tools” statement literally creates the next argument “these tropes are incorrectly utilized” which has been a HUGE problem for this damn show from the beginning. This is something that the crew have admitted themselves and something that’s widely known to be true “the tropes in RWBY often distract from the central plot in a negative way” but Kob will INSIST on sealioning and pretending he has no idea that this issue exists and force you to explain every tiny detail and fight you the entire time as if any intellectual debate can be formed against someone who hasn’t yet grasped simple facts such as “Jaune stalked and harassed Weiss during v2” or “the RNJR components of v4 were largely filler providing little to no support to the overall plot of the story” OR “the handling of TWF subplot raises uncomfortable and disconcerting issues with people who’ve had to fight for their rights in a similar manner to the Faunus and TWF.” These are basic facts about this show and Kob REFUSES to so much as entertain the idea that they might be correct and it’s impossible to have a civil discussion with someone who refuses to accept the truth in favor of praising their favorite show.

... But that wasn’t the point.

Just sayin’. You might want to discuss your anger addiction with someone before it inevitably escalates, for the sake of your own well-being.

(P.P.S. I don’t even go here and I know for a fact that I could do a better job of writing the show in question here. They never refer to the execution of RWBY’s tropes but JUST the tropes themselves. I am not arguing the execution because the person I am arguing against is not arguing the execution. This analogy has nothing to do with what you’ve said. This implies that I use fallacies as a flashy weapon unskillfully but you never debunk the way I use the fallacies nor how I used the wrong aside from the first post.

And the ironic thing is: You seem to be the one concerned with appearance over substance when I am not. You use fallacy fallacy incorrectly and in the process, making an entire argument you made turn against you while I just used them to show scummy methods. You also go on to arguing my motive when not only did my motive have nothing to do with my argument thus you were committing Fallacy fallacy yourself but there was no proof that the motive you said I had was what I had and you had no other argument in that. And the third time is you using Moving The Goalposts while not addressing my argument against the person I was arguing.

In short: You only barely address what I am saying and not once did you argue me directly, instead being vague or talking about subjects that don’t matter.

Brothers Apart was started by @nightmares06 October 24th, 2014 and has been going strong ever since! During the last two years two other writers have been added to the team along with a very helpful assistant!

The main storyline, Brothers Apart, has since sparked a collection of AUs. Each storyline is individual in and of itself, but all tie into the main arc in their own way. Visit Links to find your way to the stories.

Why don’t you just post Brothers Apart and not all these other stories?

Since Brothers Apart is (mostly) written by myself, there isn’t enough story built up to have a backlog. Due to a falling out with a former beta reader, writing for Brothers Apart was frozen for a year. During that time we conceived a number of other storylines, and we invite you to enjoy them along with us.

When/where do the stories post?

Sunday, 9pm EST Wednesday, 9pm EST

Any changes to this schedule will be announced on the tumblr as soon as we know about them.

We love the art too! But since we’re writers, and our skill at actual drawing is lacking, all of the artwork you see posted here (with a few incredibly rare exceptions), are either commissioned with our own money or submitted by fans (you lovely, lovely people). We love supporting our favorite artists, so we won’t stop commissioning anytime soon, but it’s dependent on if we have money at the time we get the idea.

If you want to help us out, please Buy Me a Coffee and let us know what character or AU you want commissioned! Once we have enough money for that AU, we’ll get it done.

When does (insert story) start posting?

We’re not sure when each story goes up, we only have a timeline for the days stuff will post. To prevent any stories from gaining favoritism over others, we started running a poll. During the last week or two of a story, there will be a poll with (2) to (6) options offered, and the winner will be the story that starts next!

Keep in mind that the stories that appear in the poll will be fully written/edited and beta’d by our wonderful beta readers, any stories that are incomplete in any fashion will not be included.

The poll is run through SurveyMonkey, and each person gets only (1) vote! Duplicate votes WILL BE REMOVED.

Can you go back to posting stories about only Sam and Dean?

Seriously, we’re going to keep writing together because we do it for fun. You’ll see classic Brothers Apart stories come around when I finish them, but you’ll also get a lot of the collabs we do. We write for ourselves and to get rid of stress. Since we’re not paid to do this (in fact, we spend a decent amount of money on story things), we’ll continue to write what we like.

We still love feedback and getting new ideas from all you readers out there, so keep sending us prompts and suggestions! Just don’t be upset if we don’t do yours– we might not be feeling it.

Yo, I've been hearing about this dude KOB and shit. I didn't really see racist shit, but he seems like a shithead. Are there any threads regarding racism?

He’s said stuff relating to Faunus and TWF specifically that’s p racist, he’s also said “racism is morally gray” as if racism is good and beneficial under certain circumstances. He’s also said things like “I hope the show never gets a same-sex couple” as a form of punishment for people who’ve been calling out RT for not delivering on the promise they made since at least season 2. He says a lot of really gross shit too like “Yang should be spanked” for any symptom of her ptsd presenting itself and a ton of other things that would obv make people really uncomfortable. Honestly he’s said a lot of really bad things but imo he’s just a gross person because of the way he forces interactions between himself and other people’s blogs- something that’s against Tumblr’s guidelines. You can block him and he’ll link back to your post on his own post instead of reblogging it. He’s also gone on “infiltration missions” into the rwde tag where he basically shit talks himself using alternate accounts and baits people into saying problematic things like “you should kill yourself” and then flags it and flaunts it around like “haha, you guys aren’t as noble as you pretend to be!” He harasses people a lot like that and will absolutely not leave you alone if he believes he’s entitled to a discussion with you. I would like to talk about so called duality of the 'rwde tag', as antis like to say. So many people have said "Omg, you can't be happy with anything." Or "You're just mad they're not writing things your way." So let me run through a few of the things the show has totally fucked up that we've been asking for. PoC Rep: got poc's, they either don't have lines or are villains. The badass leader of TWF would was set up as incredibly complex and sympathetic while still being a villain, murdered without a fight. Dark skinned heroes, never seen again. Powerful Women: The show is about four girls! The only women in authority are either villains or written out of the show. Out of the two main teams, one one character has a mother that's alive, good, in the show and celebrated. All the four main girls rely on the men in their lives to 'grow' as characters Heavy subjects like abuse, harassment, and neglect are glossed over, ignored, or celebrated. And, finally Queer Rep: constantly put off or given out as a joke character or background decorations. Finally, finally get a confirmed wlw and then she immediately turns around and uses her queer love as an excuse to harm her LI and her LI's family, threatening to take her LI back to her abuser, blames the LI for her turning bad, basically uses being a wlw as an excuse for being a villain. Whether she's marked for redemption or not, it doesn't matter because the damage is done. The amount of stupidity and toxicity that this show promotes is absolutely astounding considering the amount of potential it had and how easy out would have been to avoid half the damn problems. I saw someone earlier tell us we should be grateful that they continued it after Monty passed, but maybe they should have buried this show with him. I watch this show for three very specific reasons which have been the same reasons since volume 1. Ruby, Weiss, and Yang. That's it, that's why I watch this dumpster fire made by garbage people. That's the only reason I can stomach it and even then, I'm a fan creator for a reason.
