Snaters are wild man
(TW mentions of name calling using the words 'rapist,' and 'pedophile' )
I just posted a thing on Instagram (something about how snaters have basic reading comprehension if any) and this girl (who is so anti Snape it's unreal) fucking sent me thousands of texts saying how my post was very hateful, and that she was an English major and then proceeded to send me pictures of her work book from school, and I was like "Okay, it's a joke?" And she said how she would call the police on me because I fantasize about "rapist pedophiles" (refering to Snape) and I was like, "Okay bro, the fuck??? He's a character in a children's book. Do you want me to delete the post?" Then she went on to say how calling her bro was sexist but she "couldn't really expect any less from a Snape apologist" so like I deleted the post and was like, "Very sorry I offended you." And then deleted the chat.
What the fuck

Why Snape is the way he is.
Snape was abused.
His father was an alcoholic, who disliked magic, much like the Dursley’s. He spent all Eileen’s (Severus’ mother) money on alcohol, then he would come home and take his anger out on his son. Nobody would stand up for him, and his mother couldn’t do a lot. She was weak and overpowered by her husband.
Then he met Lily, and all was well, sort of. He could spend a lot of time with her, away from his own home life, playing like normal eight year olds should. Not being terrified of his father, scared to set foot back in his own house. But Eileen didn't think to leave her husband. It was frowned upon. And she had married a muggle. She would never be completely accepted back in the magical world, not with a half blood son anyway.
Then, Sev and Lily went to Hogwarts. James Potter happened. He liked Lily and hated Severus. The marauders tortured Snape. Need I say more? James sexually assaulted Severus, they stripped him against his own will. Sirius almost got him killed on a full moon, by sending him after Remus. And it is this reason people think James is oh so great. They hexed him and cursed him into oblivion, and he accidentally called Lily a mudblood when he was angry and distressed. Then he had nobody, besides the older Slytherins, who were all undoubtedly Deatheaters.
When Severus went to adults about the bullies nobody would listen. They dismissed them off as pranks and sent him back to an abusive home on numerous occasions, and shortly after Severus joined school, his mother passed away, (he was sure his mother was murdered) he was at the mercy of his father. So with nobody there to help him through everything that he was feeling, he got mixed in with the wrong crowd and bitterly regretted for the rest of his life, spending it as a pawn, which is the exact opposite of what he wanted. But he did it for Lily. He made two mistakes with her, calling her a Mudblood and then telling the Dark Lord of the prophecy. He spent his entire life devoted to protecting her son.
Snape wasn't evil. He was a hurt lost little boy with nobody to help him.
