like, between coryo's cunning, sej's conscience, and lucy gray's charisma? the snow name, the plinth fortune, the baird d12 but neither district nor capitol pedigree?

coryo could've actually been like, panem's first 20-year-old president, who outlaws the hunger games and who the districts still listen to because he has sej and lucy gray on side. and yeah maybe coryo still kills a bunch of people but like whatever, no one really bats an eye -- who's gonna mourn gaul, anyways? no one in the districts, that's for sure. even if gaul didn't suck ass they'd be busy with cool covey music and awesome new legislation.

I feel kinda stupid for not figuring this out earlier, but I understand lucy gray, because even if she didn't see what happened in the arena all the things that happened in D12 would've easily proven to her how much sejanus and coriolanus mean to eachother. and then snow gets him killed????? and it's so obvious too????? because coriolanus is the only person sejanus actually trusted???? and loved???? and there's no one else he could've told about the rebel plans except coriolanus???? i would've run, too, because sejanus meant more to coriolanus than lucy gray and she knew it. she didn't know he like, thought of her as a prize and an object and wanted to possess and control her, but she knew he cared for sejanus in a different, deeper way. and he killed him???? she knew he could and would do it to her too, if she ever became a threat to him. and she ran. and now she's free.

My poor little meow meows Sejanus and Lucy Gray. You both deserved so much better.

They would’ve been so good together. Sejanus would be such a supportive boyfriend. He’d understand that she sometimes flirts as part of her job as a performer and keep his jealousy in check (unlike some people who keep separate rules for themselves and her). He’d come by on any free day he had to visit the Covey and help them out at home, always bringing some of Ma’s baked goods.

In a throuple with Coriolanus they’d take turns keeping him in check.

I need someone to write a TBoSaS Snowjanus ( possibly SnowJanusBaird?) where at some point during their stint in District 12 Coryo just looses his shit at Sejanus’s poorly thought out rebellion attempts and ends up yelling an actually thought out, detailed workable plan about how to become president of panem and take the capital down from the inside over a period of like? I don’t know 10 years?

And both Sejanus and Lucy Gray look at each other, look back at him and then immediately come to the very wrong conclusion that this is a Plan Coryo’s had in the works for years not something he blurted out in the heat of the moment because he couldn’t stand Sejanus being so fucking stupid anymore. And because it’s such a well thought out plan to dismantle Capital society and stop the games they’re both very on board.

Except that this wasn’t a plan. But hey it gets him his boy and his girl and his presidency so what’s Coryo gonna do? Complain? Absolutely not. He’s just gonna go along with it because he’s still in control. He’s the only one that can play the game and has like an actual shot at politics so of course that’s where his place in the not a plan is. And he can just Not Do the rebellious parts and still keep his partners! It’s perfect!

Except it’s not perfect because Sejanus is impatient and starts a secret rebellion in the capital and Lucy Gray has heard rumors of district 13 more often then she can count and wouldn’t both of these things be a lovely gift for our rebellious pretty boy?

And long story long it’s like that one meme with the super villain who keeps unintentionally doing good deeds no matter what he does. Like take candy from a baby, turns out candy’s poison level of karmic goodness that he can’t get away from but like… seditious.

edit: this idea appears to be sticking around, I’m calling it Karmic Rebellion for now. If it keeps floating in my head, I might try and write the damn fic myself.
