So I ran out of horse ranch posts and I'm going on vacation so I didn't have time to write up more... So it would seem Lou is also getting a little vacation but posts will resume in about two weeks.

However, I did manage to finish up all of my sims for windbrook's slasher challenge so that'll be releasing while I'm gone 😁

ngl the more I hear about Wish, the more excited I get about it

#ik the animation is turning ppl off and ngl i do wish (lol) it was more unique #though i do like the blended 2d/3d look creating a storybook effect #but the songs are all bops so far. i really love ‘this wish’ it gives me those good chills #and it feels really uh relevant to living/growing up in today’s society #wanting things to change for the better… if you’ve listened to the song then you know what i mean #I’m excited about the conflict in this movie #seeing the lies and the cracks the flaws in a system you once trusted #someone from a younger gen wanting to change that system #clashing with someone from an older gen who put it in place and benefits from the system #plus the in-universe lore is already intriguing #what do you MEAN you can give your wish to this guy for him to MAYBE eventually grant it but you forget ever wanting it #that’s crazy !! the wish literally being part of someone’s heart ! #that’s sick !! #and well. i of course cannot help but think of the ways this movie could join the kh universe lol #I’m also excited about the villain magnifico bc it’s fun to watch characters progressively lose it #not a twist villain. you know this guy’s gonna snap. you just get to witness the snapping

i literally cannot wait until there is actually other life sim games like the sims that are actually publicly available to play!!! like Tiny Life is out now and i do definitely want to play it but... come 2024 we might have Life by You and perhaps Vivaland in our hands... also i am Really Really awaiting Paralives as well i am PRAYING for a release date to be announced. like i will exercise as much patience as i can but tbh ts4 is depriving me (i only have base game + my first pet stuff + desert luxe kit so i dont have 95% of the gameplay i want .) and i would love to just be able to have something else to play too??

#my dads back in ohio again so im back on my own. i still feel terrible but at least i have a plan #i have 2 weeks of this semester left. so i have to not fail my genomics exam and work on a group project plus grade a bunch #shouldnt be too hard but everything makes me so tired rn and i just feel this barrier between myself and everything else #even when my dad was here. i just dont kno how to feel happy. just varied levels of stress #but after the semester is over ill have to find a job for the summer. which super stresses me out bc i havent really had a real job outside #academia and im worried about how stressful ill find it bc im sure its gonna suck but at least i wont have to work on my project #i just think if i had a normal job that doesnt dominate every aspect of my life id feel a little less terrible. or at least i wouldnt send #myself spiralling so much. if i stay here i might not survive it #but what if ill just make myself miserable wherever i am? i dunno. but im gonna try to find a non academic job this summer with the epa or #maybe the usgs. i mean ive gota a bachelor's and a masters in environmental topics. that's gotta count for something #just get a government job. pray for a not terrible set of coworkers. and build something from there #it just sucks bc i feel like everythings falling apart and like i kno if i gave it my all i could pull thru and get my phd but im just so #tired of struggling against something everyone else can do. i just cant read at a level appropriate for what im doing #ugh. i dont wanna study for genomics. i just wanna sleep. i just wish i wasn't in this position #and now i a baby about it. i mean my sisters r in similar positions bc the youngest is currently looking for a teaching job. and my middle #sister is looking to move to new york city in the next 6 months and she'd be quitting her job for that. so we're all sorta in flux #i just wanna not be flailing. not watch my hopes and dreams collapse. be excited about anything. im just sad bc i have to make hard choices #even if i know theyre the right ones to make if i want to continue to exist. sometimes u cant have the things u wany. #and that sucks and i hate it. theme of the year: sometimes life sucks and theres nothing u can do abt it #unrelated

finally got to watch scream 5 since 6 is now up for streaming worst experience of my life.

#🐇 #that's sort of overdramatic....I didn't care for it #I liked some of the new characters. YES! The big moments for me were when he swore revenge for Jeralt and when he asked after Byleth’s health. Also, him admitting he’s not very devout and only prays basically because he’s expected to as a noble made me really like him and get super interested in him.

Just because he wasn’t perfect and could be really awful to Claude, that can partly attributed to his father coloring his perception of Claude before he met Claude, and he eventually grew out of just taking his father’s words as pure fact. I can’t blame him having only been like 17 in the academy so it was so nice to see him grow up there.

GW has a few big banana peels for me, but Lorenz was completely consistent throughout and is basically the voice of reason all route and is such an absolute sweetheart sometimes. I honestly think if the writers treated him this way to begin with in Three Houses that people would’ve liked him all along and he wouldn’t be so unpopular. He could’ve had his quirks in the academy phase without being written like a snob with a heart of gold because he’s really nothing like that in Hopes.

It really makes me hope people will get their past preconceptions of him in Houses and enjoy his character and come to respect him in Hopes if they didn’t like him before. I know it can be hard to like a character in a different medium/game/etc if you already didn’t like them, but I also genuinely can’t see how anyone could hate him quite so much in this game. Like... there’s just really nothing to hate, and I don’t say that as someone who already loved him. If there was something people might hate about him I’d admit I could understand the possibility, but I just honestly can’t see it here. Dislike a bit, maybe, sure. Hate though I can’t see that at all!

While I have some gripes with the overall writing and some other characters (not just in GW), Lorenz gets a higher than perfect mark. I was genuinely impressed with how they handled him.
