okay so I know that sasuke is madara's favorite, but there's no way obito isn't at least 2nd place. I mean, I love seeing them mess with each other as much as everyone else, but i'd also lowkey like to see madara caring for obito, even if he does bother him, yknow?
Aww of course he’s got a soft spot for Obito! He raised him (in this au anyways lol)

“How you made me fall in love with you is still beyond me.” this was better in my head than it turned out but.. yea. based on this AU idea of @butter--peanut that obito abducts tenzo to learn more mokuton which leads toooo slow burn falling in love.
Tobi made a peace sign and jumped from left to right leg and then back. “Senpai is so awesome,” he chimed. “Senpai protects me. Tobi loves senpai.”
Deidara’s nerve was awfully close to bursting, but he did not use his still functioning hand to strangle Tobi, not now, and instead just pulled a face that looked like he bit into an especially sour lemon. “Get on with it Tobi”, he said and pushed him a little. “We need to get a place to sleep. I don’t want rain to ruin my art.”
On the way back to the cave they had come out of, Tobi continuously talked about how excited he was to work with Deidara specifically and dutifully called him senpai, knowing full well that it pushed Deidara's buttons.
This Tobi personality was working out in all the right ways for him. His Akatsuki colleagues largely felt like he was a nobody, nothing to consider a threat, nobody that was missed when he disappeared for long stretches, which was practical.
“Deidara-senpai, you need to sleep after you rescued me so heroically,” Tobi sang, his hand pushed against his mask as if he was fainting. “I will make sure nothing happens to you, while you recover.”
It was clear that Deidara held back all his natural urges not to stab Tobi’s only eye out, but he did in fact agree in the end and set himself down for the first sleep of the night.
Obito had no intention of staying to watch over him though, he had things to do. He stretched his neck a little and swirled to Kamui.
Tenzo sat in his little corner, head propped up against the wall on the bed he had made for himself in mokuton. Obito sometimes forgot how homely Tenzo had made it for himself in Kamui now, as if that was now his place to live in.
“That was pretty pathetic of you,” Tenzo said without looking up.
Obito took his mask off his face and walked over while undressing not only his cloak but also his gloves. It did not matter that Tenzo saw him maskless, Obito could always make him forget their months together if he wanted to.
“What do you mean?” Obito asked, throwing himself on the bed so that his head could rest on the other man’s legs.
“Senpai, please senpai, what you doing senpai, you are such a hero senpai.” Tenzo imitated a high pitched voice and rolled his eyes.
Obito turned to him: “I don’t sound like that.” He let a little piece of wood out of his finger and wrapped it around Tenzo’s resting hand. “Besides’ I’m doing it for a reason. And it is working.”
He looked up at the younger person still reading. Tenzo’s hair had grown again already, maybe he should cut it for him once again soon. He was Obito’s prisoner after all, so he should take care of him
“You act like you are such a tough guy at first meeting,” Tenzo said and shook his head slightly, “but you are such a dork.” Then he added, almost inaudibly: “How you made me fall in love with you is still beyond me.”
Obito’s eyes shot up: “What?”
“What?” Tenzo’s eyes now darted up to.
“What did you say?”
“Nothing.”
Obito pulled his eyebrows together. “I’m pretty sure you sa-” But then Tenzo leaned forward and kissed him, pressing his soft lips against his fast. Under his touch and smell and taste Obito forgot what he had wanted to ask in the first place.

Quick! Who’s your top 10 most fave Naruto characters? And who are the top 5 that you dislike the most?
Character Rating
author: Hello! I decided to explain why I like each character! I will bold the characters if you don’t want to read though! Thank you for asking this!
Top 10:
For #1… I’ll definitely have to say that it is Kakashi. Why? Is it a fangirl issue? Is it just a think about looks? I honestly really admire his strength. He’s emotionally and mentally strong and although he has trouble with communicating his feelings, he’s just such a good person. I just appreciate that after everything he’s been through, he is so selfless and will do anything just to help other people. He’s also gorgeous!
Tenzo!!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. He gives me such dad vibes and he’s so awkward at times it’s absolutely adorable. I relate to his sense of being—wanting to act tough and as if everything is under control but on the inside, it is so hard to forget the tough times, you know? And also the fact that he’s so pure just makes me so happy. I mean, ultimately, he just wants to feel as if he belongs, which is just so relatable. He’s so strong, dorky, intelligent, and such a warm soul. (P.S. I hate that he was put through so much and ended up being stuck to the worst person ever)
IRUKA! My cute baby boy! Wow, I have so much to say about Iruka. He works hard, he tries to teach his students as much as he can, and he is just so dedicated to teaching. He is such a sweet person and even though he was orphaned at a young age, he still manages to wake up every day and continue to work hard. He makes others feel at home and he was Naruto’s true father figure.
Itachi. HE DESERVED SO MUCH MORE. He deserved to figure another option out, to be able to be with his family, to be able to LIVE in peace without being haunted by the horrible actions he was forced to do by some irresponsible pieces of—you get my point. Itachi has such a sweet, old soul. He would be the type of person to just listen to you. Also, he’s so intelligent and his actions are ALWAYS planned. Also, his dark, emo self just attached to mine and made me so soft. I would recite him dark poetry anytime.
Obito! He was definitely such a sweet-natured kid and I feel like he was always a good person. Deep down inside all he ever wanted to do was be loved and to be friends (to fit in.) I just want to make him feel as if everything is okay, you know? It’s okay to help others and be late. It’s okay to not be #1. And also, just his entire story made me literally despise evil-natured people. How could someone brainwash such a helpless sweet baby? 10/10
Kiba! He is just so aggressive and wants to be the best at everything, which is really relatable. I am more of a soft-spoken person, so seeing him yell and be chaotic makes me feel safe, lol. Also, Kiba is such a WOMEN WORSHIPPER. He was raised by women and he respects women, PERIOD. In this house we absolutely love respect!!! Also his love for Akamaru makes me soft. 11/11
HINATA. Hinata was talked down to all of her life but in the end she just didn’t give up. She walked forward and stood tall and WORKED so hard. I admire her strength, her diligence, and the way she carries herself with pride. She’s also so adorable and fierce at the same time? Like she could punch me and I would blush.
Now this one is… controversial. Madara. HEAR ME OUT. I believe he is a good-natured person that was just hurt and completely mistaken. I mean, he wanted peace. He wanted people to not be afraid of him. He also just wanted respect and equality. Let me say that the government of the leaf village did discriminate against the Uchiha and who would’t be upset? It makes sense that he would be upset and try to change his world to what he believes is right (which is messed up but in his point of view he’s fixing the world, right?) Also… Tobirama did kill his brother and that caused Madara to also go insane. If my brother was murdered, I don’t think I could just be okay with everything, especially if my heart work isn’t credited and I am to just be a simple “civilian” and not the Hokage (he created the village too!) He’s not one of my top 5 because he completely destroyed Obito and I also dislike him for that.
GAARA! Gaara is such a wonderful character? He did not deserve anything in his past. The fact that his father hated him and the whole village absolutely despised him and he was still able to change and become a better person is just so… admirable. He’s such a cutie and I love him to death.
NAGATO NAGATO NAGATO! He DESERVED better. He is such a sweet person and was manipulated as well. All he ever wanted was to be at peace. I mean, after all his parents died for NO REASON! He was orphaned at a young age and had to fend for himself. He really just grew up wanting to belong and be in a family and all he was left with was manipulation by a man who was pushed to the brink of insanity. (You see the circle? God the circle makes me CRY)
Top 5 I dislike (this was hard because I'm a very... “they had their reasons bc trauma affects people differently” type of person, so these are just the ones I hate! It’s hard for me to hate any character:
Danzo. Do I need an explanation? He messed EVERYTHING UP. EVERYTHING. He needed to be cut off long before he did. Actually, before anything ever happened. Thanks.
The elders! MAN I DISLIKE KONOHA’S ELDERS SO MUCH. They are selfish, despicable, and who would even agree to such extreme measures?
Orochimaru. He’s a pervert who’s obsessed with children. Nope.
Jiraya. I liked him for some scenes and I hated him for other scenes. He would steal Naruto, AN ORPHAN, money. He sexualized Konan when she was a kid. Just so much that was not okay.

Gravestone
Rain pounded down on his head, Soaking his hair and cloths. He had searched the entire village for Kakashi, worried when he had gone to the Hatake home to find the child was gone. He had asked around, but no one knew where the boy was. No one even seemed to care.
He knew the village didn’t care about others, they never had. Why would that change now? Still, it annoyed him. This was a 6-year-old boy who’s father had just committed suicide. Why was no one worried? Why was he the only one looking?
He stopped beside the bushes, looking out towards the hidden spot where Kakashi had convinced Minato to help him bury his father. No one else had been willing to do anything. He had already heard all the judgements, all the harsh words. No one cared about how Sakumo’s son was handling what had happened earlier that week, they only cared to bad mouth a man shamed into committing suicide.
The gravestone was small, Sakumo’s name written in stone with jagged words. There was no memorial, no kind words. Just his name. He imagined it was what his own grave would look like one day, another failure of the leaf village. Another forgotten shinobi.
Kakashi was barely visible, but he could see the silver of his hair peeking out from under a small blanket. He could only imagine what the child was going through. What seeing his fathers’ body had done to him? What it had been like having to listen to people bad mouth Sakumo, even after his death.
He stepped up to the boy’s side cautiously, not wanting to spoke him. Even at 6-years-old, Kakashi could beat the crap out of him. He checked the boy’s pulse first, his worry for the child’s health still flaring up. He had been on a mission when it had all happened, but as soon as he got home, he had gone out to find Kakashi. No one should be alone after such loss.
He was just glad he had been able to get Gai to bed before he left the house.
“Come on.” He carefully wedged his hands under the child’s body, nudging him with his fingers until he finally rolled over into his arm, still sound asleep and shivering as the rain continued to fall on them. Taking him to his father’s home wasn’t an option, Kakashi would likely wake up and flee as soon as he realized where he was.
He’d have to give up his bed for the night, but that wasn’t a problem. Kakashi would sleep better in a warm bed, and they could visit Sakumo in the morning. He could say his own goodbyes to his friend, the friend he never got to see off. The friend he never thought would end up in a lone grave, far away from all the others.
The friend whose son he had promised to protect if anything ever happened.
He looked over at the grave once more, holding Kakashi close to his chest as the boy shivered in his arms. “We’ll be back.” A soft promise before he headed back towards his own house.
 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Minato had searched franticlly through the entire village, hoping to find any sign of Kakashi after the funeral had finished.
So far, he had found nothing. Some days he wondered how Kakashi had become so good at hiding, but he didn’t really need an answer for that. Kakashi was a loner, he didn’t like being around people. The funeral had probably been hard on him for multiple reasons, not just because it was a reminder of Obito’s death. A reminder of a failure Kakashi still held himself responsible for, no matter what Minato, Kushina and Rin told him.
The funeral had also been loud afterwards, with so many people talking and telling stories of those that they had lost. It must have been over whelming for Kakashi. He had always been so sensitive to noise.
“Father…” His head snapped up. That was Kakashi’s voice, But he wasn’t anywhere near the graves. He was in a secluded part of the village. A part where no one was buried.
               No one except Sakumo.
He kicked himself mentally. He should have remembered to check Sakumo’s grave, he had been the one to help Kakashi bury his father. The only one who had been willing to help after the man’s disgrace.
It was a small walk towards the area where he remembered burying the other Shinobi, and as soon as he walked past the few bushes hiding the small grave from sight, he could see where Kakashi had sat himself down in front of the grave.
His heart ached when he saw the pre-teen sitting on his knees in front of the grave, his hands curled painfully into the fabric of his pants and his head bowed in front of the gravestone. How long had he been sitting there while Minato searched for him?
“I’m sorry…” The words are soft, but Minato can hear the hurt in them. A hurt he hadn’t hurt since the day Kakashi had run up to him in the middle of the village and begged him, a man who he had never met, to help him bury his father. To help him at least give his father something, anything for a grave. “I’m sorry I was angry, I’m sorry…”
He was by Kakashi’s side in an instant, catching him in his arms as he curled forward. Kakashi didn’t bother to look up at him, or to say anything. He seemed to know who it was though, because he instantly relaxed into his sensei’s arms.
“It’s ok…” He knows the words mean little to Kakashi, nothing is ok. Nothing had been ok since a six-year-old had been forced to bury his own father. Nothing would ever be ok again, but for now, for just one moment, he could pretend.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He laid beside his father’s grave, unable to say anything as his eyes focused on the words carved out in stone. What was he supposed to say? What was he supposed to tell a hero, a man who died believing he was doing the right thing by forgoing his mission and saving his friends?
How could he ever hope to match up to his father, when he was nothing more than a friend killer. A man who had seen his own hand go through his teammate, who had felt the sticky blood of someone he was meant to protect. Someone he was supposed to keep safe.
Was there anything he could say? Any way he could apologize for failing his friends and father like this?
“Go away…” He hadn’t heard movement behind him, but he knew that Gai was standing there ready to comfort him. He didn’t deserve comforting though. He didn’t deserve attention, or love.
He didn’t deserve anything.
“You know I’m not leaving.” It’s a fact, Gai never listened to him when he told him to leave. When he said he wanted to be alone. Gai had always been there by his side, pushing him for competitions and trying his best to cheer him up when he noticed that he was down.
He couldn’t cheer up though. How was he supposed to when he could still feel the blood on his hands? How was he ever supposed to believe he was worthy of anyone’s attention when he had been the one to murder Rin?
Still, he didn’t bother to argue. There was no point. He simply kept his eyes on the gravestone and stayed silent, listening to the soft footsteps behind him as Gai found his spot and sat down, intent on waiting for his friend to tell him when they were going to leave.
They sat in silence for a while, neither of them saying anything. Neither of them being able to come up with the right words to say.
Gai, as always, was the first to break the silence.
“You don’t owe him an apology.” He closed his eyes. Gai was wrong, he was always wrong. He owed his father so much, he had been so stupid. So careless. How could he not owe him an apology? “You know he wouldn’t be angry with you.”
“He should be!” He finally snapped, curling up into himself and bringing a hand up into his hair. It hurt, it always hurt. Why couldn’t he stop hurting for just a bit? Why did the universe insist on reopening his wound? On keeping the pain fresh and new. “I killed her! I killed my teammate and he should hate me! He should hate everything I am, everything I’ve become!”
He didn’t bother to pull away when Gai reached out and put a hand on his shoulder. He couldn’t. Gai was the only one other than Minato Sensei who didn’t believe the rumors. Who didn’t call him ‘cold blooded Kakashi’.
He wasn’t cold blooded; his heart wasn’t made of stone. Every fiber in his body felt like it was on fire and he hurt constantly, but he was a shinobi. He had to act like he was alright, like nothing affected him.
He hated it.
“He’d never hate you.” The words are soft, and for the first time in days he wants nothing more than to curl up into someone and cry. To stop acting like the tough Shinobi, to stop being the Cold-blooded killer everyone thought he was.
He couldn’t move though; it hurts to much. Everything hurt too much.
His eyes focused on the gravestone once more, tracing over the words that he had carved into it with his own weapon. The name he had always thought he would see a memorial stone along with others. The name of a hero.
He wasn’t sure how long they sat there; he had lost track of time long ago. All he remembered was the moment that Gai had finally gotten to his feet and picked Kakashi up in his arms. He made no protests, there was no point. If Gai had decided it was time for them to go home, he didn’t get a say in the matter.
He’d visit again tomorrow. Maybe then he could finally apologize.
Maybe then he could find a way to make it up to his father.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bushes Rustled, signaling Kakashi’s arrival. Gai looked over at his friend from the gravestone, a soft smile on his face when he saw the Jonin standing there in silence. He knew he would come here; he always did.
“Waiting for me?” Kakashi’s voice is weak, sorrow dripping through his words as he stood there with his hands by his side and sadness in his eyes.
“Always” Gai smiled up at him, watching as he slowly made his way over to his side and took a seat beside him. His eyes immediately searched out the name on the gravestone, reading it repeatedly as his entire body slouched.
“When does it stop?” He had never heard Kakashi ask anyone that question before, maybe because he had always thought he needed to be the strong shinobi. The unbendable and unbreakable.
Slowly, their eyes met, and Gai could see the pain deep inside. Kakashi was tired, he had been for years. He was tired of the pain, tired of the loss. Even Gai had to wonder some days how much more the universe planned on taking from the other man. Hadn’t he lost enough already?
“I don’t know.” It’s a poor answer, but the only one he can come up with. He had no idea when any of it ended. The war, the death, the struggles. There was no foreseeable future without any of it, but he knew Kakashi had lost more than enough already. He didn’t need to go through this pain anymore. “but I do know one thing.”
“And what’s that?” he smiled his usual smile and reached out to slap Kakashi in the shoulder.
“I know that your father would be proud” He said softly “that he’d be glad you stayed on your path after everything, that you continued to fight for the leaf.”
Kakashi instinctively reached up to touch the symbol on his head band “I don’t fight for the leaf.” A soft admission, something he likely wouldn’t dare to tell anyone else. If he did, he’d be shamed just as his father had been.
“Well,” Gai thought about it for a moment “then you have to fight for something. If you lost all purpose you would have…” he choked on the words. He never wanted to think about attending Kakashi’s funeral. Of having to bury his best friend and say goodbye.
The thought made him ill.
“I fight for him.” He looked back over at the other man, smiling when he noticed that Kakashi had turned his attention back to the gravestone in front of them “I fight for the village he had wanted to protect, for the ideals he wanted to nourish and grow.”
“An honourable reason to fight” he smiled, his breath catching in his lungs when Kakashi looked back over at him.
“And you…” the words are soft, almost too soft. If Gai hadn’t been paying attention he might have missed them entirely.
“You…” he blinked, shocked by Kakashi’s confession. “For me?”
“You and Minato Sensai were the only one’s who cared.” It’s not far from the truth, but Gai is sure he could list others who have shown their worry and care for Kakashi over the years. “You’re the only one’s who stayed with me no matter what, who tried to help me. I fight for my father’s ideal Village, and I fight for the village that will one day look at you and see the amazing ninja you are.”
He reached out slowly, laying a hand on Kakashi’s shoulder for comfort and grunting when the other Ninja finally collapsed into him. He didn’t say anything, wrapping his arms around the other man even as he felt the tears staining his spandex. There was nothing to say, not right now at least.

☰ Matched with Kofuku
Kofuku is very bubbly, loving and caring and you pique her interest immediately, she’ll want to get to know you and spend time with you and that can make her come on strong at first, and kind of in a friendship and romantic way. She can be very hands on and touchy right from the start and can lean against you, play with your hair, hug and try to cuddle up to you even before a relationship ignites.
Thought it really only takes a few days to a week for her to know she wants to be with you and will tell you how she feels and wants you to be with her, she’ll ask you out in a very sincere way and pour her heart out to you which could be a little much at first considering the two of you haven’t known each other for too long but she won’t waste time.
Once you agree to go out with her, she is very enthusiastic and cuddly towards you about your answer, she won’t be able to hide how happy she is about it. From the start of the relationship she is deeply loyal, considerate and tries her very best to be there for you, help you and make you happy even trying too hard at times and often going out of her way to make you smile or to do something for you.
She loves to be with you and spend time with you and not even to be constantly doing things together, just being physically near you makes her happy, sitting beside you or just being in the same room. She has to see you and talk to you every day or she really worries about you which can make her come across as a bit clingy and needy at times but it’s only because she does love and care for you so much.
Adores listening to you talk and she is a very good and attentive listener, she likes to hear about your day or about your childhood or for you to tell her stories about different parts of your life. Simple things like eating meals together or drinking tea and talking about different things makes her very happy, and she will like hearing about your interests and hobbies and will show a sincere interest in them. She loves listening to you play the piano if you’ll play for her and will like to know or see what you are reading or drawing, she tends to compliment you pretty often and for a wide variety of things, how you look, how you draw, how you act, things you’ve said etc. If she thinks it, she’s going to tell you.
That means she is very open, honest and rather blunt with you but not in a mean way, even if she has to tell you something negative like if she doesn’t like one of your friends she tells you in a gentle way and isn’t harsh about it and will explain her reasons. You are very smart and have a high iq but it doesn’t always show but Kofuku certainly doesn’t come across as a genius either, and it’s not that she’s dumb though she can have her moments of absent mindedness but when she wants to be, she can show a very intelligent side.
You are a quiet person though you can be loud and rambunctious around certain people and she is bubbly, loud and rambunctious so she can really bring it out in you. She is the God of poverty and without meaning to or trying she can cause bad luck or bad things to happen to everyone around her, and you’re not immune to this so you can have unlucky things happen by being with her, but this usually isn’t constant but things can pop up randomly.
Once of your favorite things though does happen to be mischief and she is more than willing to be your partner in crime, though because of her unlucky effect on people she can cause some mischief without even meaning to. She is a bit immature and childish and you can be too especially when it comes to being mischievous so she doesn’t mind this about you one bit. You are both very kind and both even tend to be rather selfless when it comes to helping or protecting those you care about; she will do anything she can to keep you safe and with her.
She can actually be rather insecure and terrified that you could leave her, whether because you’re tired of her bad luck or just because you don’t love her anymore, these thoughts really worry her and she can go to great lengths to make you happy if she feels like you are falling out of love with her. Reassurance that you love her goes a long way and it’s not that she needs to be told constantly that you love her, though she’d love it if you did but if you just occasionally tell her or remind her how much you love her that means a lot to her.
She’ll tell you daily and often that she loves you and shows you how much she loves you even more, so you really will never feel like she’s not interested in you. You are a closed book and it takes a long time for you to open up about yourself, and don’t worry that’s perfectly fine with her and she won’t even ask you to open up or talk to her about specific things.
Instead she reminds you that she’s always there for you when you’re ready or need to talk, particularly when you seem upset, sad or depressed, telling you “I’m here for you.” Or “Whenever you’re ready.” She is very soothing and reassuring that it’s okay to feel the way you feel when you are upset/sad or going through tough times, and she’s also very comforting and encouraging that things will be okay and things will get better, that you’re going to be alright.
She is incredibly up beat and optimistic even when bad things happen around her and she really never gets angry and really you don’t either so fights or arguments are practically nonexistent.
Over all she is there for you whenever, where ever, any time you need her she will be there for you, helping you, supporting you and cheering you on with anything and everything you do in life, she can be like your own personal cheerleader pushing you to follow your dreams. She is by your side and has your back no matter the circumstances even if the odds seem stacked against you she’s there encouraging you that anything is possible.

☰ Headcanons between the two of you
■ Loves attention and affection and will cuddle and smother you with love when the two of you are alone, often clinging to you, leaning against you, hugging you, hugging your arm, playing with your hair, anything. And will often instigate cuddles when she sees you or knows you aren’t terribly busy with something.
■ Tends to be pretty girly and can like doing girly things with you if you’ll allow it, going and getting your hair done together, pedicures, manicures, going to a spa or hot springs, doing your make up or playing with your hair. Or even doing things like face masks or foot soaks together.
■ Adores animals so she can share your love of cats and has no issues with having pets and can even let things get out of control with too many pets or cats if unrestrained. She likes cute things so she can’t turn away adorable animals.
■ Loves thoughtful and romantic actions and not just if you do something romantic for her but she’ll love doing romantic and thoughtful things for you, but she will really be touched if you do something romantic for her and sweet gestures can really make her melt.
☰ Other Possible Matches
Tumblr media
◐ Obito
Is protective, caring and very loyal he will go to extremes to keep you safe from harm, and is quick to tell people off if they are rude or mean to you or he just doesn’t think they are good for you. He can be a bit shy with PDA but really does love being affectionate with you, especially when the two of you are alone.
He can be a bit flustered with affection especially early in the relationship but does love to cuddle and be close to you, he can be a little insecure about himself and it will take some time to really earn his trust and for him to be able to relax and feel comfortable with you. This also makes him very patient with you in return and won’t pressure you to trust him or open up to him it’s a slow and steady relationship that becomes incredibly strong with time.
Tumblr media
◐ Kenji
He is very loving, open and optimistic with you from the very start of the relationship, and not only that but he’s respectful of you and makes sure everyone else treats you with kindness and respect as well. Because of his strength he can come off as intimidating at times even though he’s not trying to, so if someone does disrespect you or criticize you, he can seem very threatening to the person without doing a whole lot.
He’s comfortable with PDA but doesn’t really push for it or at least not much aside from holding hands with you, but he will always respond positively if you instigate some love and affection towards him. He loves doing simple things with you but will go out and about with you, though he really doesn’t understand how a lot of things work in the world in towns and cities. He likes things like eating together, going for walks or just sitting outside watching the sky and talking.

Now, for no reason beyond my inability to keep my opinions to myself, I will rank team members based on how much I like them.
Team Minato:
1. Obito. He’s my favorite Naruto character, I’m that bitch. He was adorable and bratty as a child. He legit was always late bc he was helping people??? Angel. He was also a braggart and rude brat, amazing. His story arc was insane and I loved it all. #1 villain of the series imho
2. Kakashi. I fucking love him so much! He’s just so soft and trying his best, okay?! Like, when he disguised himself as Sukea so that he can “help” his team unmask him??? He was so proud of their teamwork! He spent his free time with them! He loves his students ❤️ objectively one of the best characters of the entire series and he’s just so great!
3. Rin. I love Rin so much I hate that I can’t place her higher! She was just the best friend Obito could have had, she was so supportive of her teammates but she was also a bad bitch. She was often fierce, especially when it came to Obito, and she was also kind and amazing. She’s the best!
Team 7 + Sai bc I love him:
1. Naruto. The main squeeze himself, I love Naruto! I wish Kishimoto had done some different things with him, but he’s the creator and it’s his story, not mine. Naruto was a brat but a lovable one and that’s all I gotta say about that.
2. Sakura. I don’t give a shit what so many fans say, Sakura was amazing and I fucking love her! She’s strong, smart, gorgeous, and ready to kick ass! I wish she wasn’t always so ready to turn her fists towards Naruto, and I wish that she had gotten over Sasuke, but it is what it is.
3. Sasuke. I love him but not as much as the other two. I do have a greater appreciation for him now than I did when I was younger, tho. He deserved better. Also, this boy took a blow for Naruto and almost died in the battle against Haku, don’t tell me he never cared about his team!
4. Sai. I ain’t gonna lie, I kinda prefer Team Kakashi Shippūden edition to the original, and part of that is because of Sai. I love him so much and I remember I was so moved by the story of him and his “brother” when I was younger. I even still have an amv saved of the two lol. Sai is amazing and his art is killer, crop topped king.
Team 8:
1. Shino. I fucking ADORE Shino, it’s unreal. Back when I was a tiny 9/10 year old watching Naruto, I created an OC/SI named Shina. S H I N A! That’s how much I loved Shino! He’s the greatest and I still ship shinonaru a lot ain’t gonna lie. His admiration and love for his insects is great and he can hold a grudge. Iconic. 10/10 character, would watch a show based on him.
2. Hinata. She isn’t my favorite, I don’t particularly love her, but I still like her a lot. She’s sweet and she is able to hold onto her ideals and she just as often pushes herself as she fails. It’s inspirational, in a way. Really gives wallflowers a role model lol. I’m still not crazy about naruhina, but I’m not gonna hate her for it. Not my favorite female character, but I still appreciate her.
3. Kiba. I liked Kiba a lot more when I was younger, and I still do like him a lot, but I’m just not that into him. I’m not sure why, I’m just kinda ‘meh’ when it comes to Kiba. He’s there, Akamaru is cute, I appreciate his place in the story and his early semi-friendship with Naruto, but I just don’t care that much. It’s nothing in particular he did, I’m just not that into Kiba 🤷‍♀️
Team 10:
1. Shikamaru. Okay, this team is tough, because I kinda wanna say I love them all the same, which is a lot. But I’m settling on Shikamaru first because I really enjoy fics that center around him and Naruto. I don’t particularly like his sexism, but I really appreciate his down to earth attitude and his love for the people close to him. His revenge on Hidan is still amazing to this day! I really love his friendship with Chouji, too, as well as his friendship and admiration of Naruto. Love him.
2. Ino. Again, I really struggled with the order for this team because I love them all so much. Ino is amazing and I think so much more could have been done with her. I love her and Sakura together, platonically and not so platonically, and I think a friendship with Naruto would have been amazing! Love her.
3. Chouji. I think he’s super under appreciated and under utilized. He’s often written in fic for fat jokes and as just kinda there, but he is so kind. Chouji is great and he was able to get with Karui, who is a babe, and he loves his friends and team so much! Love him.
Team Gai:
1. Lee. Not even a contest, I fucking love Lee with my whole entire heart! He’s amazing and inspiring and just such a great guy! He’s super optimistic and enthusiastic in a way that is super wholesome and entertaining! I love his relationship with Gai so much and how he turned his inability to use chakra into a strength! I love Lee so much!
2. Neji. Tbh, I don’t care about Neji and Tenten as much as I do about Gai and Lee. I feel bad about it, but I can’t help it. Of the two, I like Neji better because I think he’s pretty funny in his own deadpan way. Hehe. And there was definitely more of a character arc with Neji than with Tenten, which, while not her fault, is still a point against her.
3. Tenten. Yeah, she’s kinda cool, I guess. More could have definitely been done with her character, though. I like her character design, though. Super cute.
Imma end it here, i really don’t feel like going through the other teams rn.

Second Chance (An Itachi Uchiha Love Story) 5
Treatment
It's been about a week later now. Everything had gone mostly well. Hidan refuses to be in the same room as me and Kakuzu is always angry whenever he sees me. On a good note though, I was growing closer to Itachi and was getting to know the true him better as he got to know me. Kisame and I were still close as well, possibly even closer than we were before. It was nice spending my time with them. However, most importantly, Tsunade finally was set to arrive today. As soon as I woke up, I got dressed in my usual outfit and then headed out to the mansion with the criminals in it. I call them criminals, but most of them stopped being a criminal by the time they died, but whatever. Anyway, as soon as I entered the door, Kisame was there waiting for me. “What's up, Ki?” I questioned when I saw the worried look on his usually calm face. “Itachi got worse last night. He coughed up a lot of blood by this morning. There were many coughing fits.” Kisame responded simply as he began to walk to where Itachi was. I followed closely and was beginning to worry more than I'd been worrying before. What if Itachi got so sick we couldn't save him? However, my thoughts of doom were broken by hearing Itachi coughing. Kisame and I quickly rushed into the living room, which was where Itachi was now and made our way to his side. A few other Akatsuki were in there as well. They were Obito, Nagato, and Konan and they all looked very worried about Itachi. “Itachi...” I muttered as I put my hand on his back to try to heal him somewhat. I just wanted to try to take some of the pain away and relieve some of the strain on his body, and it seemed to work, as his coughing slowed down to nothing, faster than usual. “Itachi, just hold on, Tsunade will be here soon.” I looked at him with worried eyes and he just looked back up at me with pain in his eyes. “Tsunade is here now.” Came Sakura's voice from behind Kisame. I turned to see Sakura standing in the doorway, with Tsunade standing behind her. She still looked young, as expected and she had a look of disgust when she looked at me. I instantly stood up and took a step away from Itachi. I was now standing next to Kisame, who looked at me with confusion. I just shook my head and watched as Tsunade moved to Itachi. “Can you move to the infirmary?” Tsunade questioned as she reached Itachi. He nodded his head and got up, losing his balance for a moment before standing straight up. Tsunade turned to Sakura and spoke to her this time. “Take me to the infirmary.” Sakura just nodded her head and began to walk. I instantly followed them, but Tsunade turned to speak to me. “Stay here.” “No, Itachi is my patient and friend. I'm coming with you. I can be of help, I have medical training as well.” I responded strongly but still a little wary. I knew that Tsunade didn't like me one bit. Orochimaru never got her permission to use her DNA to make me. So I was the child she never wanted with the man who used to be her teammate. I was just a bad reminder of the past to her. “Very well. However, he has to stay here.” Tsunade spoke as she looked at Kisame. “As long as Itachi has proper medical attention, I won't interfere.” The large blue man retorted as he looked at the former Hokage. She nodded her head and began to follow Sakura. I walked right next to Itachi, keeping an eye on him. “Are you alright? Are you sure you can walk all the way there?” I asked him with worry clear in my voice. He simply turned to me and gave me a small smile. “Don't worry about me, Adryn. I'll be fine.” Itachi spoke as he kept the smile on his face. “You are dying, Itachi, you might not be fine.” “I trust that you all will find a way to cure me.” I was a little shocked at that. “You trust us?” “Of course. After all, you promised you wouldn't let me leave this world again due to my illness. I trust you most of all, Adryn.” To that, my face went completely red. “What's the deal with them?” Tsunade questioned Sakura as she eyed me and Itachi. “She loves him with all her heart. He is giving her a chance to see if he will fall in love with her. However, Sasuke and I are pretty sure they should just get together already and stop dancing around things.” Sakura simply responded with a smile on her face. “Hey! We can hear you!” I gasped out, still blushing completely red. “And we aren't dancing around anything, it's just...” I trailed off, not able to find what I was trying to say. “It's just complicated.” Itachi finished for me as he looked at the ground. “It wouldn't be so complicated if you'd just...” Sakura just sighed instead of finishing. “Anyway, we're here.” Sakura finally spoke up as she pushed open a door. We all went inside, with Itachi climbing onto the patient's bed without being told to. It seemed like he'd just known that was where he was supposed to go. So, that allowed Tsunade to just dive right into it. A bunch of tests and medical bullshit later, Tsunade, Sakura and I all concluded. They voted me to tell our conclusion to Itachi, who'd just been sitting there listening in on our conversation, not fully knowing what we were talking about. So, with as much calmness I could muster up, I turned to the man I loved. “Alright Itachi, we have reached a diagnosis.” I started as I kept up my calmness. He could see right through it though. “It's nothing good, is it?” Itachi questioned simply with a frown on his face. He was expecting the worst. So I smiled at him softly. “It's not as bad as you're thinking. However, Tsunade cannot heal you. Not completely at least. She thinks that she can heal you enough to reverse some of the effects, along with taking some medication once again. Even so, you will have to work up your chakra reserves and stamina by training again.” “So I'll have to be back on medication?” Itachi seemed to be conflicted over that and was now looking at the ground. I moved to be in his view and smiled up at him. “Now, now, 'tachi, you want to stay alive, right? Then, for now, that means being on medication, and maybe being healed in a particular way every so often. Tsunade will show me how to heal you so she doesn't always have to be here. If you ever start getting worse, we can just heal you again or give you stronger medication.” “Do you know what medication I will be on?” “Hmm. Not yet. Actually, we're going to make it. Specifically for you.” I stood back up straight again and turned to the other two women. “So, should we get started on that medication? I have a lot of various herbs in my garden, those might help.” “You have a garden?” Sakura questioned in surprise. I just chuckled at her. “I don't take care of it though, but it is at my home.” “Of course,” Sakura stated before turning away to address Tsunade. “Thank you for coming here, milady. We greatly appreciate your willingness to help a former criminal.” “A patient is a patient. Besides, I know the truth about him anyway.” Tsunade responded simply. “Seriously? Who told you?” “Kakashi did.” Sakura seemed to find that acceptable and just nodded her head. “So, how is your relationship going with Sasuke?” That seemed to blindside the pink-haired girl and she began to turn red and sputter nonsense. “I'd like to know that as well. How is your relationship with my brother going? He refuses to tell me anything about it.” It was Itachi, now looking at Sakura with hopeful eyes. “Well, it's going good. He's gone most of the time, atoning for all he'd done when he was... insane. However, I know he loves me and he tries to write to me or visit the village every now and then.” Sakura finally responded when she was calm once again. “I see.” Itachi couldn't help but smile at that. He seemed almost relieved at hearing the pink-haired girl's words. “Sasuke might not act like it, but he genuinely loves Sakura.” I decided to point out with a smile on my face. Itachi looked at me and gave me a small smile back. “I'm glad he was able to overcome his hatred and find someone to love.” “I'm glad and surprised that Sakura could forgive him for him being such an asshole to her for all those years.” “I love him, so I could forgive him easily. I know he was going through a lot, so he wasn't completely himself during those times. If anything, I'm surprised you never held too much of a grudge against him for him trying to kill you.” “Yeah, well, as you said, he wasn't himself. I couldn't hold it against him when he was going through such a tough time. I knew that I just needed to be there for him.” “You really do care about my little brother, don't you?” Itachi was now fully smiling at me. It caught me off guard and caused me to blush. “Yeah well, he means a lot to me. He's practically family to me.” “Alright, enough of this.” Tsunade suddenly spoke up interrupting my conversation with Itachi. “Adryn, take me and Sakura to your herb garden. To make Itachi's medication we need to start there.” “Alright.” I then turned my attention to Itachi. “I guess go find Kisame and let him know what's going on if you want to. At least go find him, you shouldn't be alone while you are so sick. Just in case.” “Very well. I will go find Kisame.” Itachi then hopped down and left the room. Once I knew he was far enough away, I turned to Tsunade. “Do you actually think we can save him? I don't want to get anyone's hopes up and then we not be able to save him.” “I believe we can save his life. I wouldn't give anyone any false hope.” Tsunade spoke as she looked me straight in the eyes. I just nodded my head and began to lead them to where my little garden was. It wasn't as small of a garden as I make it seem. It has most herbs in there that can be grown in this part of the world. Both Tsunade and Sakura were shocked when they saw it. However, their shock quickly wore off and we all began to hunt down what we needed. There were a few
herbs that we couldn't find that we needed, but there were enough of them that they would be alright. Along with that, we had to raid the main headquarters' infirmary to find the medicine that we needed to mix with the herbs. So, a few days and a lot of work later, we had the first doses of Itachi's medication. I was taught how to make it, so Tsunade could return to her life. All that was left to do was have Tsunade heal Itachi, well heal him as best as she could, which would help slightly and then teach me how to heal him. It was difficult to learn and it pushed my medical skills, but eventually, I figured out how to do it. “So now, take your medication, if you start to cough again, have Adryn heal you. That should keep the cough at bay. It isn't a perfect cure, but we will keep working at it.” Tsunade informed Itachi as we all sat in the living room together. “We all” meaning, me, Itachi, Tsunade, Sakura, Kisame, and Sasuke. It was now finally time for Tsunade to leave, so she was informing us of any last things that she could think of. “Also, I don't think I need to say this, but do not tire yourself out too much. Training is important for you now but in moderation. Do not overwork your body. You are still dying, just dying slower than you were.” “What if he reacts to the medication negatively?” Sasuke questioned after Tsunade was done with talking. She instantly replied to him. “He's already taken the medication for three days now, if he was going to have a negative reaction, he would have already or it would be starting now.” “Hmm.” Sasuke seemed to accept that started looking to his brother now. It was like he was silently asking if there was anything that was different about him or if there was any type of reaction now. “I feel better than I have in a while, and there have been no reactions negatively,” Itachi answered his brother's silent question. Sasuke nodded his head and kept silent. I had a question though, so I spoke up. “How long do you think this medication will last him? How long will it take for his body to become accustomed to it?” “I am not sure, but I know it will happen.” Tsunade's words were vague, but I just nodded my head. “Watch over him closely, Adryn.” “You don't need to tell me that, I already planned to.” She looked at me for a moment before turning to her student. The two of them began to say their goodbyes as I turned to Itachi. I had been sitting on the couch next to him with Kisame on my other side. “Is it alright that I plan to keep an eye on you?” “I'd be worried if you didn't.” I knew Itachi was meaning that since I was in love with him, it'd be weird if I didn't keep an eye on him. I just smiled at him and watched as he slightly smiled back to me. After a few minutes, Tsunade was gone. She had to return to her life of gambling and alcohol. While we were left to sit there in the living room, not really knowing what to do now. “So, how is Itachi supposed to train if we can't go outside the mansion?” Kisame suddenly questioned breaking the silence. “I'll ask Lady Mizukage if he and someone else can train together just outside the mansion,” I responded after a few moments of contemplation. “I would like to get a chance to train too. Being trapped in here is giving me anxiety.” Kisame flashed me a smile and I just looked at him and sighed. “I'll see what I can do.” With that, I stood up and headed out of the room. I made it to about the entrance hall when I walked right into someone. “Ouch,” I grumbled as I rubbed my nose. This all felt familiar, and I began to wonder if I've bumped into the same person as I did before. However, when I looked up I was met with purple-eyes. “Oh, Hidan, I'm sorry, I was in a rush.” Instead of responding to me, Hidan just continued walking. There was no “watch it bitch” like I was expecting. I wrote it off as him just acting weird. Maybe he was still trying to avoid me. Or maybe something was actually wrong. Either way, I needed to just go ask Lady Mizukage about the Itachi training situation. One thing at a time, I liked to tell myself. So with the Hidan issue out of my mind, I hurried off to the Kage. It didn't take long, but when I entered the room with the Kage in there, my Kage wasn't there. “Um, excuse me, where is Lady Mizukage?” Even Chojuro wasn't there. I was a little worried. “She wasn't feeling well, so the kid took her back to her room to rest.” Lord Tsuchikage responded in his usual annoyed sounding tone. “Oh...” I wasn't sure what to do now. “Was there something you needed, Adryn?” Lord Hokage questioned making me turn my head to him. “Well, Tsunade just informed us of Itachi's condition.” “She informed us as well. Was there something about it that you needed to talk about?” “No, well yes. Itachi needs to train, so I was hoping that you all would let him leave the mansion for short periods of time to do so. Sakura and I would be watching over him and whoever he trains with closely, so they wouldn't be able to escape.” “No.” Lord Tsuchikage said just as Lord Hokage spoke, “Alright.” “Lord Hokage, they are dangerous criminals. They shouldn't leave the mansion at all. Itachi should just be happy that we are giving him medical attention.” “Itachi needs to train or else in battle he might actually die due to his low chakra reserves and stamina.” I snapped at the older man. He looked at me with anger in his eyes at me snapping at him. “Now, now, Lord Tsuchikage, Adryn makes a great point. We were wanting to use the Akatsuki to fight for us anyway, if Itachi can't fight, then he might hold everyone else back.” Lord Hokage commented simply. “Adryn, have Itachi and one person leave the mansion for an hour a day. Watch over them closely. Do not let them escape.” “I don't think they want to escape anyway, but alright. I'll do my very best.” “Doing your best might not be enough. Make sure they don't escape!” Lord Raikage grumbled at me. “Yes, sir!” I responded officially before bowing to them all. Once I did that I left the room. However, as I left I heard Lord Kazekage speak. “You are too hard on her. She is one of the Mist's best ninja. You shouldn't treat her like that.” I couldn't help but smile and mentally thank Lord Kazekage for that. I didn't hear anything else, because I had already walked too far away, but that's probably for the best. So, with a smile on my face, I quickly made my way back to the mansion. Once I got in there and greeted the ANBU there, I informed them of Lord Hokage's ruling. Once they believed me, I hurried off to where Itachi was. I could sense him somewhere near the kitchen. Possibly in the living room that was just off the kitchen. On my way there, I came across Kakuzu just standing in the hallway. “Kuzu, is everything alright?” I questioned to no avail. He didn't respond to me or even acknowledge that I was there. Just like Hidan had done. So, I now knew that something odd was going on. However, I quickly made my way passed him and went into the kitchen. “Hey 'tachi, is it just me, or are Hidan and Kuzu acting weird?” The Uchiha man turned from the sink he was at and thought it over, before shaking his head. “I don't think they are acting weird. They are probably still angry with you.” Itachi finally responded, however, he then continued to speak. “However, there is something weird going on.” “What is it?” My anxiety instantly raised up to a level 8. “I just saw two people wandering around the mansion. They were just looking at the mansion but when they met my eyes, they fled into the forest.” You see, the mansion is surrounded by forest on all sides. Along with that, there were ANBU stationed all around the mansion. So if people were walking around it, they would know. “Seriously? Well, that's odd. The ANBU didn't tell me that any strange people were walking around when I entered and I didn't see anyone when I was out there, but if you say there were people, then there were.” “Thank you for believing me. That is exactly what Kisame had said to me.” I couldn't help but chuckle at that. “That man truly believes in you, doesn't he?” Itachi smiled softly at that. “I'm glad I have two people who trust me so much.” “Sasuke trusts you as well. He's just always been a bit difficult.” “Yes, that is true.” “Anyway, Itachi, I have news for you.” Finally getting onto the point I'd originally come to the mansion to tell, I informed Itachi of what I'd been told by Lord Hokage. He seemed happy as he continued to smile. “That is good to hear. When can I start training?” “Right now, if you want to. I already told the ANBU and they should be telling the others right about now. Go find Kisame and we'll go outside now.” “Very well.” Itachi then hurried, yes hurried, out of the room to go find his friend. I couldn't help but just smile at that. However, my smile faded when I heard a voice from the other doorway. “You love him an awful lot, don't you, kid?” I turned around to see Sasori and Deidara standing there. “Oh, hello, and yes, I do,” I responded with a smile on my face again. “How could you love a murderer like that, un?” Deidara demanded annoyed as usual when it came to an Uchiha. “I can't tell you. It's a secret.” I smirked at them and then quickly made my way out of the room. I could hear Sasori grumbling about me as I left and Deidara agreeing with him for once. I just shook my head and went to go and find Itachi and Kisame. I was eager to watch them train together and to see how well Itachi could do even though he was still sick. The only time I'd ever seen him fight, recently, was when he fought again Sasuke and then I wasn't able to just focus on his fighting, I was panicking too much. So, this time I planned to focus on his movements and maybe I could copy them if I tried hard enough. This would be a good training time for me as well.

sometimes you write a 4500 word crossover between your naruto au and someone else’s. that’s just how life goes.
so here’s my 4500 word crossover between my naruto au shionverse (minato/oc, fix-it fic with gratuitous amounts of dimensional travel side-stories) and @crescentmoonrider‘s turtle au (kakashi dies; obito and rin say “fuck the system” and end up helping out at least two separate revolutions; meanwhile, in konoha, minato and orochimaru are science bffs)
“Being Shion’s apprentice will be fun,” he thought. “Space-time shenanigans are the most hilarious shenanigans,” he told Kakashi sagely. “I’ll be fine,” he assured Rin.
Obito would like to go back into the past and punch himself for being so fucking stupid.
“This is the third time this month!” he whisper-yells, tugging at his hair in despair. “Why am I so bad at sealwork?! /Why?!/”
Shion is peering at his quick rendering of his beautiful, dysfunctional seal, because sealwork is never kind enough to just follow them into another dimension. At least this time they’re in the same spot as they were before, in their own dimension, but that’s a questionable blessing, considering it’s Tobirama’s backyard. He had barely been born when Shion brought Hashirama and Tobirama back; he has no idea if the house looming behind them is actually Tobirama’s or if he appropriated it from another Senju Clan member.
/These/ things are what he has to concern himself with, now. Gods. Kakashi’s going to laugh at him as soon as they get back.
Tobirama had been /watching them/, too, from the safety of his kitchen. Obito bets that he’s going to finish his breakfast before meandering over to the Hokage Tower to tell Minato that his /spouse and almost-child/ have landed themselves in an entirely different universe.
Shion finally leans back onto their haunches, their forearms resettling on their thighs, and look at Obito. “It’s a very nice design,” they begin, because they /always/ begin with the compliments. “Incorporating the shape of your Mangekyo into the design, while remaining conscious of the Uzumaki spirals—it’s inspired. If you can make it work, it’s going to be a pretty piece of sealwork. However…”
Obito tries very hard not to sigh as he crouches down next to them to see the flaws that they’re pointing out.
Maybe he should have asked to shadow Minato during his Hokageship. That’d probably be easier than /this/.
- - -
After Obito has copied out the corrections onto his Correction Scroll, which documents his many failures, they wander out of the Senju Clan compound. It’s been half an hour, or nearly, and no one has come to investigate the presence of two people who should definitely not be here; it’s sort of disappointing.
Though, he thinks, eyeing the overgrowth on the path that in their dimension is kept tidy, maybe that has less to do with shitty security and more to do with an empty compound.
He makes a mental note to talk to Minato about it, just in case it really /is/ shitty security. With all the time they spend criticizing alternate universe Konohas, they really need to make sure that they have room to talk.
The landscape of every Konoha is a little different, even the Hokage Mountain: most of the time, it’s the four that he is familiar with—Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, and Minato—but sometimes there are additions, like Jiraiya as the Godaime, or substitutions, like Orochimaru as the Yondaime.
(No one talks about those dimensions, much. After hearing about how /their/ Orochimaru cut open Shion’s resurrections to see how close they are to real, alive people, Obito thinks that he understands. There are some things that you don’t want your mind to dwell on—things that you thought you knew would never happen, but did.)
In this dimension, there are no surprises on the Hokage Mountain. As they walk through the streets, passing from residential to commercial, Obito can pick out the familiar structures: there’s the convenience store with Saki’s favorite pudding cups; there’s the Mokuton-flush park that Kakashi’s pack loves so much; there’s the bakery that sells Yondaime cheesecakes.
He wonders if they still sell them, here. The current Hokage might not be the Yondaime.
As if sensing his thoughts, Shion nudges his ribs with an elbow and nods their head at a mysticism shop. “They bought the property from candlemakers two months ago.”
So Minato made it past his usual time of death. Obito perks up, at that: it’s always kind of fun to see Minato a decade into his Hokageship. It was alarming, the first time, to see him so overworked and /old/, and it’s still kind of sad to look at him if he’s a widower, but the dimensions where Minato is Hokage are usually better than dimensions where Hiruzen is.
That’s not really that hard to do, though, when compared to the guy who lets someone experimenting on Konoha’s clanless orphans go and who allows his old friend to continue recruiting children into an army sealed into obedience to someone other than the military leader of Konoha.
Honestly. Minato would actually have to /try/ to be worse.
- - -
He just /had/ to jinx it, didn’t he?
They’ve entered some weird dimensions, but this one is by far the most unsettling: Minato is Hokage, and that doesn’t actually seem to be a good thing.
As per their usual protocol, Shion and Obito snooped around a bit to check on the status of Konoha before deciding whether or not to approach the current Hokage. Konoha didn’t appear terribly beleaguered, in spite of several important missing chakra signatures (Obito isn’t here, and neither are Rin or Kakashi) and in spite of Orochimaru apparently being a jounin-sensei, so they went, “Eh, looks good enough,” and went and booked a meeting with the Hokage.
Obito is really, really regretting it.
It’s not that Minato thinks they’re actually very terrible spies instead of dimensional travelers. It’s that Minato’s grief is—weird. In most dimensions, where Minato’s ability to demolish an entire army by himself only happens once and only then during a war, Minato carries his grief with him like a smothering shroud, weighing him down. This dimension’s Minato has tapped into the more active side of grief, like it’s a path that he’s digging with other people’s graves.
Minato looks at him like a ghost, like he’s something lost, like he would kill the Shinigami to bring him back. It’s the sort of expression that’s at home on Shion’s face, during their darkest moments, but Obito has only ever seen Minato wear it once, during the Third War and speaking to a gore-covered Shion.
He doesn’t know how to feel about this look being leveled at him now.
“You saved him,” Minato says, to Shion, without taking his eyes off of Obito. “How?”
Obito sneaks a glance at his shishou. It’s a difficult question to answer without sounding callous—/I went back for him/ is tough to swallow when nearly every Minato they’ve met hadn’t.
Shion’s eyes shutter, for a moment, in the barely-longer-than-a-blink way of closing their eyes that Minato does, but it’s the only real sign of their discomfort. “You want to know if there was something you could’ve done,” they say, their voice even, measured. “There wasn’t. You do the same thing, every time.”
Minato’s face does a funny thing, like he wants to make an expression but doesn’t know which, and he rubs his cheek with his palm, finally looking away from Obito. Obito lets out a breath that he didn’t know that he was holding. “And the others?” Minato asks. “Kakashi, Rin—they’re safe, in your timeline?”
“Our timelines diverged much earlier than Kannabi Bridge,” Shion replies after a small pause. “Certain events may remain constant, but the players and outcomes vary.”
Obito has never been in a dimension where all three of Minato’s students die. It’s far more likely that this dimension’s Obito is out there somewhere, plotting the end of the world under the early guidance of Madara, but when he opens his mouth to tell Minato so, something stops him. It’s not that he doesn’t trust Minato—even if this isn’t /his/ Minato, it’s still /a/ Minato—but…
But he has the feeling that if he tells Minato that his dimension’s Obito is still alive, it will be tantamount to signing that Obito’s death warrant.
Minato would never hurt him. He /knows/ that. That doesn’t stop his skin from crawling, and it doesn’t stop his danger-sense from going haywire.
He is a shinobi before he is Minato’s student. He listens to his instincts. So he shuts his mouth and lets Shion keep the lead on this one, because if anyone’s an expert on Minato, even a Minato that lets Orochimaru have a genin team, it’s them.
(He still can’t shake off his anxiety until they are allowed to leave his office.
There is something /wrong/ here, and he is afraid to name it.)
- - -
They’re not slammed into the T&I cells. They’re let go after Minato is done interrogating them, with the implicit knowledge that they will be supervised for the duration of their stay. It’s reasonably lenient; Obito tries to pretend that it isn’t a hidden noose.
In their hotel room, after clearing it to make sure there are no bugs of any variety and slapping down a silencing seal, Shion sinks onto the corner of their bed and puts their face in their hands. Very quietly, they say, “We should have remembered that anyone can be an enemy.”
Obito’s nerves, already frazzled, leap straight to fraying. “But it’s /Minato-sensei/,” he insists, pushing off the chair at the desk to pace. “He can’t—he wouldn’t—”
“Minato does not always arrive on time,” Shion reminds him, “and anyone outside of our timeline is not an ally just because our version of them is.” They run their hands through their hair, fingers meeting at the nape of their neck, and let out a breath before sitting up, hands dropping to their lap. “We’ve gotten complacent. We need to be more thorough about information-gathering. If all three of you are presumed dead in this world…”
Generally, when people are assumed dead, they /are/ dead. Madara and Obito are the only consistent exceptions to that rule. Obito doesn't know how to feel about the idea that Rin or Kakashi might be playing dead, too. "I'll find their files," he says, feeling out their game plan. "It would've had to have been when Rin became a jinchuuriki, so... find out if their bodies were recovered." He pauses, then, with a kind of perverse cheer: "Oh, man, do you think Bakashi joined the Akatsuki with me?" Shion's mouth tugs at the corner. "It's gotta happen /sometime/. Maybe we'll get lucky and that'll be all this is." "Or maybe," Obito continues, "it's Rin who survived and turned me off the track of evildom, and we're, like, wandering monks who help people wherever we go! And we just avoid Konoha because we… didn't have you to get the compulsion seals off our hearts." His enthusiasm dampens, at that, and he sags against the wall. "Oh, man. Alternate versions of myself are so fucked."
“I would assume that an Akatsuki Kakashi and a wandering monk Rin would also be fucked,” Shion remarks, gently teasing. They crook their fingers at him in invitation, and he goes, lying across their lap with a gusty sigh. Shion makes a soft noise of amusement and begins to card their fingers through his hair. “Who knows? Maybe in this dimension, /you’re/ the good guy.”
Obito closes his eyes, tilting his head toward their hand. Kakashi would make fun of him for seeking positive touch, probably, if Kakashi didn’t do the exact same thing when stressed. “Guess I’m a wandering monk with Rin, then. Bakashi would never be able to convince me to be a good person. He /litters/.”
“I don’t think not picking up dog poop is littering.”
“He doesn’t find trash cans for his water bottles.”
“Oh, is /that/ who it is? Saki’s been complaining about the trash in Senju Park. Kakashi’s going to get himself banned if Saki catches him at it.”
Obito lets out a breath and relaxes. They’re going to figure out what to do and get out of Konoha before any traps are sprung. Everything will be fine.
- - -
In this, at least, he isn’t wrong. Over the course of the next few days, he flicks through a bunch of files in several different offices, committing the contents to memory, and all it takes to escape is a Kamui portal opening into a Uchiha safehouse thirty miles outside of Konoha.
He is never going to be able to thank his long-dead ancestors enough for their relentless paranoia. Uchiha safehouses are a /godsend/.
“Bakashi’s body was the only one recovered,” Obito explains. “He was missing his Sharingan, which points to either a very opportunistic thief or, uh, you know, me taking my eye back. It was definitely me, though, ‘cause…” He grimaces. “There’s, uh, research? On Madara’s body? Which was recovered from his super secret cave after it exploded?”
Shion stares at him for a long, uncomprehending moment. “They… Orochimaru has Madara’s body?”
“It’s all sanctioned, too, as far as I can tell,” Obito affirms. “I got the idea that they’re investigating, uh, death? And how to… delay it? Or stop it altogether?”
Shion’s mouth opens, as if to say something, but they close it without speaking. Their brow creases, and they turn to Konoha’s direction.
“Orochimaru took Team Seven to the Land of Waves,” Obito adds, quieter. “They signed out of Konoha the same day we got there.”
That’s a good thing: if Minato is endorsing Orochimaru’s death-defying research, Obito wants Shion to be as far from Orochimaru as possible. Even in other dimensions, where no one would have reason to know of Shion’s kekkai genkai, it worries him that one day someone /will/. The ability to raise the dead and to mold them into any shape they like—it’s a powerful kekkai genkai, and it’s not one that he wants Orochimaru to know of.
Maybe it’s silly, to be anxious about Orochimaru and Shion in the same place, but—their own Orochimaru played with Shion’s kekkai genkai when Shion was a chuunin, younger than Obito is now, and Obito would really like it if that never happened again.
The line of Shion’s shoulders is tense. They press their lips together, hard, before turning their head away from Konoha. “We should go farther before we stop,” they say after a moment.
Obito nods, accepting the unspoken request to move on from this subject, and opens another portal.
- - -
Moving on from Konoha and Orochimaru means that they’re on to this universe’s Obito and Rin, which is—well. Getting information on them would be easy, if they could figure out where to /go/. Neither Obito nor Rin have Shion’s Hiraishin seals inked on their bodies or Minato’s Hiraishin kunai on their bodies, and they have both been outside of Konoha for over a decade.
“This would be so much easier if our Kamuis led to the same dimension,” Obito complains. “We could’ve just hopped in there and waited til he needed something.”
Shion snorts. “Because /that/ sounds like a good idea that wouldn’t get us mauled by his jinchuuriki teammate.”
“I never said it was a good idea,” Obito points out. “I just said it’d be easier.”
“For a given definition of ‘easier’, sure.” Shion rolls their shoulders back and turns back to the map laid out in front of them, the set of their mouth falling into a grimace. “If you were going to avoid Konoha, where would you go?”
“The Dead Wastes,” Obito replies promptly. As a desert and as an oasis, people can go into the Dead Wastes and never come out. It’s pretty much the best spot for a villain lair, though alternate dimension Obitos never seem to think of it. “Failing that… probably Kiri, or I guess one of the smaller nations. Ame is pretty good at taking in fleeing shinobi, isn’t it?”
Shion hums thoughtfully. “It’s known for taking in refugees, yes. Why Kiri?”
Obito can’t say that it’s because the Mizukage is apparently very susceptible to genjutsu, if the various dimensions they’ve traveled to is any indication, which would be incredibly helpful if he ever wanted to make someone of extreme political import his pawn, so he instead says, “Um, obviously if I was a villain I’d want to have a great first appearance. You met a baby Naruto on a mission to Wave, right? And people almost died?” He doesn’t trip over the name of the Land of Waves, but he does frown, a little, remembering that that’s where Orochimaru is. Still: “That’d be such a great scene for villain-me to orchestrate. It’d really hammer home the kind of life a shinobi has. They’d probably cry.”
Shion lifts their head partway through his explanation to level him with an unimpressed look. "What? You /asked/," Obito defends. "I did," Shion agrees dryly, “though I wasn’t expecting such an /effervescent/ response.”
Obito rolls his eyes. “It’s not /my/ fault that I’d make a fantastic villain.”
- - -
It /is/ his fault that they go to Wave.
They travel most of the way through warp, but they make several stops to bury a Hiraishin tag. It provides a sense of security, Shion says, and Obito gets it, sort of: in order to warp using the Hiraishin, an anchor is needed.
After having Minato as his jounin-sensei, and now a few years into his apprenticeship under Shion, Obito is mostly used to them setting down tags like they think they’ll need to warp to a remote village in the Land of Hot Springs.
Mostly.
“It’s like a trail of breadcrumbs,” Obito groans once they hit the edge of Wave and Shion, predictably, puts down another tag. “All anyone has to do to find us is follow the trail of tags.”
“Are you /sure/ you got your tracking certification?” Shion wants to know. “I don’t think putting down a tag every few villages in a vague diagonal really counts as a trail.”
“A vague diagonal is still a diagonal. It’s a pattern. It’s a trail.”
“You seem very concerned that people are going to discover a dozen tags scattered across the Land of Hot Water and immediately realize that we have gone into Wave. We are going to be out of this dimension altogether by the end of the week.”
“We could also be /dead/ by the end of the week because you /put down a trail/.”
“Maybe if /this/ universe’s Obito ever learned to appreciate trails, we wouldn’t be hoping that he will be enough of a twelve-year-old villain to want to make his grand entrance on Zabuza’s coattails.”
Obito throws his hands into the air with a frustrated /augh!/ “Fine! Whatever! I give up! Leave as many trails as you want! Twelve-year-old villain Obito will be alive because he /didn’t/!”
“That is not necessarily a point in his favor, you realize,” Shion says, amused.
Obito jabs a finger at them. “You say that now, but just wait. We’re gonna be trampling everywhere, leaving Hiraishin tags, and he’s gonna sneak up on us and then we’ll be /dead/ because he’ll assume that Orochimaru made, like, test tube clone babies of him or something! /Just wait!/”
- - -
What actually happens is this:
After ten minutes of inspecting the impoverished village, Obito and Shion come to the conclusion that killing the rich and corrupt is a fully acceptable course of action, and after three days of observation of Gato’s men, they make their move—at the same time as this dimension’s Obito and Rin.
All four of them stop several feet from the entrance of Gato’s hideout and stare at each other in surprise.
The adrenaline has to go /somewhere/, so Obito blurts out, without thinking, “Holy shit, you really /are/ wandering monks!” and claps his hands over his mouth.
He is a little horrified at himself, but he’s not /wrong/. This universe’s Obito has /two/ eyes and one of those monk staffs. This universe’s Rin has a sidecut! Some part of his brain makes a note to bring that up to his Rin when they get home, just in case that’s something she’d be into. It looks good on, like, thirty-year-old her, anyway.
“What,” two-eyed Obito says.
“Oh my god,” sidecut Rin whispers, “he’s, like, sixteen.”
“I’m /seventeen/,” Obito corrects automatically. Kakashi and Rin’s birthdays are months before his, so he endures every winter stoically weathering their teasing about being a year younger than them. He /really/ does not want /alternate selves/ to do the same. “Uh—wow. Are you /avenging/ wandering monks? Are you here to kill Gato for being a corrupt piece of shit?”
Hesitantly, sidecut Rin nods. She is wearing one red glove, and pulls at the end of it, yanking it tighter against her fingers. “I assume you were going to do the same?”
“Oh, yeah, for sure,” Obito confirms. “Cool. Now /this/ is an Obito I can get behind.” He doesn’t /look/ like a villain who wants to destroy the world with the moon. He’s more like the vengeance of the night, sneaking into rich people’s homes to slit their throats while they sleep. Or, he guesses, bludgeoning them with his monk staff.
Shion makes a vague annoyed noise. “I could have sworn I told you not to assume everyone is an ally less than a week ago,” they say, tugging Obito’s sleeve so that he falls back behind them.
He complies, but he huffs about it. “He’s /me/! If I can’t trust myself, who /can/ I trust?”
“Your shishou?” Shion says dryly, which, okay, point.
“Was I ever that peppy in my /life/?” two-eyed Obito whispers to sidecut Rin.
Sidecut Rin leans a little towards him to reply, bemused, “Oh, you /were/. You were /absolutely/ this peppy. Maybe even /worse/.”
“You’re lying,” he accuses her. “I was never that bad. Right? … Right?”
Instead of responding to him, she straightens and, with a clearing of her throat, redirects her attention to Shion and Obito. “We wouldn’t mind your help with Gato, if you’re still interested. Afterwards, we can…” She pauses delicately, sweeping her gaze over Shion (who probably didn’t become a shinobi in this universe) and Obito (who is very recognizably Obito, if a decade younger). “... talk.”
Shion gives them a long look before nodding. “That sounds reasonable.”
Obito sends two-eyed Obito and sidecut Rin a double thumbs-up. Being an avenging wandering monk is a dream that he didn’t even know he had until today, and now he’s /fulfilling it/.
Rin is going to be /so/ jealous when she hears about this.
- - -
Three hours and two dozen dead bodies later, they relocate to two-eyed Obito and sidecut Rin’s camp. It is not especially remarkable, except for how it has a barrier seal and a silencing seal. Sidecut Rin activates both with an ease of familiarity that their Rin lacks; although she wears tags on the strings connecting her overskirt, it still comes as a surprise. Two-eyed Obito nudges the pile of wood in the center of camp with his foot and adds another few branches before blowing fire onto it.
“I /told/ you that looks cool,” Obito tells Shion, feeling strangely satisfied.
Shion rolls their eyes. “I’ll try to be more impressed with your dragon-fire.”
Sidecut Rin smiles briefly, like that exchange is something nostalgic, and gestures for them to take a seat around the fire. “So,” she says, “you look like Obito, you talk like Obito, but this never happened in our past.”
Obito glances at Shion, who shrugs a go-ahead because apparently killing twenty-odd people without turning on each other is enough of a sign that they can be trusted with this much, and shrugs back. “Yeah, our timelines diverged, like, ten years before I was born or something. Tobirama tried to narrow it down to an exact timeframe, but I think he got fed up with the variables and quit.”
“He doesn’t /quit/, he delegates,” Shion corrects. “I think Saki’s cousin is figuring it out now.”
“Right, my mistake.”
“I’m sorry,” Rin says after a pause, “did you say Tobirama?”
“Yep.” Obito nods. They’ve moved easily into Obito’s favorite part of the explanation: the other party’s incredulity, growing until they hit a stage of suspended disbelief. “Senju Tobirama, you know, the Niidaime? Wears the funky faceplate? Looks like he’d sunburn in a second?”
Sidecut Rin and two-eyed Obito exchange a /look/.
“Did… did he not die in your timeline?” two-eyed Obito asks, sounding like he’s regretting the question even as he’s saying it.
“Oh, no, he did,” Obito assures them. “We just brought him back.”
“You what now,” two-eyed Obito says.
He and sidecut Rin exchange another look, longer this time. It’s an entire conversation with only facial expressions: two-eyed Obito’s eyes demand /what the fuck is happening/ and sidecut Rin’s equally agitated stare says /I have no idea, don’t ask me, ask your sixteen-year-old self/. This is, apparently, not what two-eyed Obito wants to hear, because he lets out a breath and runs a gloved hand through his hair.
“Okay, say that we believe you,” two-eyed Obito says, even though it’s obvious that they kind of do. “Why are you /here/? Are you avenging wandering dimension-travelers?”
Obito’s eyes widen. He turns to look hopefully at Shion.
“No,” Shion denies immediately, then amends, “Not until you’re a jounin. /I’m/ not going to be an avenging dimension-traveler, but you can take Tobirama along with you when you’re a jounin.”
Obito pumps his fist into the air. “Yesss. He’s gonna /love/ kicking Madara’s ass again.”
“So you travel dimensions… regularly?” two-eyed Obito tries to clarify.
Obito pulls a card out of his pouch and hands it over. On one side it says KONOHA’S TIME-SPACE DIVISION, with the members’ names below, and on the other side it lists major events that may make it differ from other dimensions.
“No Kyuubi Attack, no Naruto,” sidecut Rin reads aloud from over two-eyed Obito’s shoulder. “All members of Team Minato are…” Her voice trails off, and she reads the rest of the card in silence.
Two-eyed Obito’s eyes flash red, for a moment, possibly checking for genjutsu but maybe memorizing the contents of the card. He looks over at Obito and Shion, mouth pulling downward in a frown. “So you’re… Iekami Shion? I’ve never heard of you.”
Shion lifts a shoulder in a shrug. “I’m usually a civilian or a member of ROOT.”
“Of… what?” sidecut Rin asks.
Obito breathes out an “oh, /man/” and laughs. “Wow. It feels really weird, now, to talk to someone from Konoha who doesn’t know about ROOT. It’s, like, Shimura Danzo’s underground army? He steals kids from orphanages and from their clan grounds and, like, brainwashes them.”
“What,” two-eyed Obito says flatly.
Obito looks at Shion. “You explain. You’re better at it than I am.”
Shion elbows him in the ribs. “You won’t get better if you keep passing it off to me.”
“I’m still your apprentice! You’re /obligated/ to take over when I’m in over my head!”
“/Itachi/ could do this, and he’s /eight/. Do you really want to be outdone by an eight-year-old?”
“That doesn’t count! He’d be a genin if he was allowed to graduate!”
“Am I supposed to agree that a genin should be better at giving reports than a jounin hopeful?”
“Well, when you put it like /that/…” Obito groans. “Okay, jeez. Turning on serious mode.” He takes in a breath and composes his expression into what he has termed his Serious Face, which looks a lot like Minato when Minato has his hands folded in front of his mouth and his elbows on his desk. “Shion-shishou was supervising my sealwork, since I was fiddling with dimensions—I’ve been trying to translate Kamui into sealwork, which is /so hard/, you have /no idea/—and, like usual, I fucked up and we landed in this dimension…”

Minato the Mind-Reader
On AO3
Summary:  Obito tries to convince his teammates that their sensei is a mind-reader. Kakashi thinks Obito is an idiot, but that he might be onto something. Rin tries desperately to convince herself that her teammates are sane individuals. Minato is just glad that Obito and Kakashi aren’t trying to kill each other for once.
“I think Minato-sensei is a mind reader.”
Obito says this with no preface, with no explanation, just lays it out in the open air like it’s undisputable proof. Like the sky is blue or grass is green, Minato-sensei is a mind reader and their training session, which until now had been quiet, peaceful, and productive, is over.
Rin scrunches up her face in confusion and throws her last kunai. Kakashi flicks his eyes from Rin to Obito and then back to the row of targets. His kunai, of course, are all dead on. Rin’s are clustered together, but towards the bottom of the target. She’s got consistent aim but needs to put a little more power into her throws. And Obito’s- well maybe the three kunai were meant to resemble the tomoe of a sharingan? Somehow, Kakashi doubts it.
Kakashi and Rin step forward to retrieve their knives but stop short at Obito’s voice.
“Guys, I think Minato-sensei is a mind reader.”
Ah. So it wasn’t his imagination.
Rin speaks hesitantly, as she often does to her teammates (probably an attempt to stave off the team’s daily arguments, not that it works). “Uh, Obito, what makes you think Minato-sensei is a mind reader?”
Obito’s eyes light up at Rin’s question and Kakashi scoffs, muttering under his breath as he walks to his target to pull out the kunai.
“I’m glad you asked, Rin!” As if he hadn’t known that Rin would answer any question he asked, if only, unknowingly to him, to keep him from asking it for all eternity. Kakashi can understand Rin’s reasoning. Better to play along than to have Obito rattle on non-stop until Kakashi is driven to homicide.
Kakashi listens to Obito’s theory as he yanks his kunai out of the target.
“He always seems to know where to find us, right? And he always knows when we’re upset, or not feeling well, or angry, and he always knows the right words to say, and he always seems to know what we’re going to say before we say it!”
Kakashi is sure that this is proof that Minato-sensei is an intelligent and good-hearted person, not that he can read minds. Rin seems to be of the same opinion.
“Obito, maybe he’s just really good at reading people’s emotions?”
Obito splutters, thrown off by Rin’s blatant dismissal of his theory. It is a tad more outlandish than some of his other ideas. Kakashi feels the need to jump in before Obito can spend the next hour defending his theory.
“Minato-sensei doesn’t need to be a mind reader to know what you’re thinking, Obito. Your emotions are plastered on your face for the whole world to see.”
It’s like poking a kitten with a stick. Highly entertaining and not the least bit dangerous.
“At least I have emotions, Bakashi!” Obito spits out. “And I’ll prove that Minato-sensei can read minds, just you wait!”
Kakashi shrugs, then walks back to the throwing line, kunai dangling lazily from his fingers. He still needs practice throwing with his off hand, it’s a fraction of an inch off of where it should be, and Sensei won’t be here for at least another ten minutes. No need to waste all of Obito’s energy before the day even starts. They still have a mission later today, after all.
Rin tries to placate Obito as she goes to grab her own knives. “Well Sensei will be here soon, so maybe we can try to get some evidence during the mission?”
Obito stares at her like she just handed him a bag of candy, smile cracking across his face like the rising sun. “Sounds good! I’ll definitely get some proof! Then Kakashi will eat his words!”
Rin mirrors his smile and grabs Obito’s kunai while she’s at it, because it doesn’t look like Obito is moving to get them. He’s plopped himself on the ground, chin in his hands and gazing seriously at the grass, like he’s plotting how to take over the world instead of how to prove that their sensei can “read minds.” Kakashi rolls his eyes and throws his kunai lazily at the target. Dead on again. It really helps imagining Obito’s face on the target.
===
When Minato arrives to training ground seven his team is uncharacteristically quiet. Obito is sitting on the ground, kunai laying ignored by his side and a pile of pulled up grass in front of him. About ten minutes worth, judging by its size. Rin is stretching against her target, kunai still embedded in the wood. She’s getting better at accuracy, but she’s not putting enough power into her throws, some of the knives are barely hanging on to the wood. And Kakashi is still throwing his kunai. With his off hand, which is interesting but not surprising. Maybe he needs to step up the training a little bit. A bored ninja is a dangerous ninja, after all. But first he needs to deal with this silence. They have a mission today, and can’t afford to start off on the wrong foot. Not that it would be unusual, for his team, but Minato doesn’t want to set a precedent.
“Did you guys have an argument again?”
Obito snaps his head up and gives his teammates a significant look. Minato wonders what it means as he notices Kakashi roll his eyes. Yeah. They definitely had an argument.
“We have B rank supply-run to the northern front. Should take us a few days to get there. We’re going to be meeting at the gate in one hour. I expect to see you there with cheerful grins on your faces, got it?”
There’s a chorus of unusually sullen ‘yes Sensei’s from his kids and he gives them a smile.
“Well don’t sound so unhappy about it, there’s probably going to be some bandits to beat up along the way, and there’s a resort town at the halfway point! It’s practically a vacation!”
His kids do perk up at that. Their last few missions had been tough. The war is still far from over, but things are at enough of a stand-still right that Minato wants to give them a bit of a break while they are still able to enjoy it. And beating up rogue bandits is always a great way to release some tension.
===
Obito is staring so intently at the back of Minato-sensei’s head as they walk that Rin worries he won’t notice any potential threats until it’s too late.
She’s currently trying to find a subtle way to distract him from Minato’s head and focus on their surroundings as they move further from the village, but Minato-sensei gets there first.
“Is there something on the back of my head, Obito?”
Obito stops walking so suddenly that Kakashi bumps into him and Rin winces. So much for having a nice, quiet mission for once. But Kakashi must not be in a fighting mood today, because he just pushes past Obito with a mumbled “idiot” and keeps walking.
Rin nudges Obito, who seems to have suddenly remembered that Sensei asked him a question, because she can practically see the wheels in his head grinding to life.
“Uh, sorry Sensei, I was just, uh… admiring your hair?”
Kakashi turns around and gives Obito an incredulous look. Obito continues, unnecessarily, and makes things worse. “It’s uh, very nice? Your hair, I mean. It’s the color of daffodils. Uh, not that I notice things like that, er, except I just did…uh…” Obito trails off, his face turning red.
Minato turns around and smiles.
“Well thank you Obito, that’s very nice of you, but maybe you could try to pay more attention to things other than my hair while we’re on a mission?”
Obito turns redder and nods, suddenly looking anywhere but his sensei. Kakashi’s eyes are wide with interest and Rin shudders at the blackmail Obito just handed Kakashi. Kakashi catches Rin looking and he turns his gaze to the tree-lined path ahead of them. She worries that maybe she shouldn’t have encouraged Obito to get proof for his theory right before going on a mission. There’s a fine line between supporting Obito’s theories and making Kakashi lose faith in humanity, and that’s where she tries to operate. It’s a full-time job, trying to keep her teammates on the right side of sanity without them knowing it, especially when they keep trying to push each other to the wrong side, and trying to keep them from killing each other and completing the mission might be too much to ask. She loves them both with all her heart, but sometimes it’s hard to remember why.
It’s going to be a long mission.
===
The war has driven all kinds of unsavory people out of the woodwork. People who love preying on the weak are abundant in wartimes. It makes Obito sick to his stomach, thinking about all the people who are in danger and need protection but won’t get it because all the shinobi are focused on killing each other. Most at risk from attack are refugees, poor civilians, injured shinobi returning home from the warfront, and weak, unsuspecting genin teams who probably look to this particular group of bandits as a group of war orphans, not trained shinobi who had just spent the morning throwing pointy objects at human sized targets. Obito has never been so glad to see bandits in his life. These bandits look to have never been more scared for their lives. They freeze at the sight of Konoha’s Yellow flash, and Obito grins in anticipation.
Obito never gets tired of watching Minato-sensei in action. He’s nothing more than a yellow blur, throwing kunai with insane precision and always thinking one step ahead of the enemy. It probably helps that he can read minds. And Minato was right that this mission would practically be a vacation. Nothing relieves stress more than kicking ass and taking names.
And that’s what he’s doing. Or trying to do, but Bakashi keeps getting in his way.
“Hey, Bakashi! That guy was mine! I almost had him!”
“Your left side was completely open. I saved you from a stabbed intestine. You’re welcome.”
Obito feels his face heat up in anger. He’s sick of stupid Kakashi and his stupid face and stupid voice always looking down on Obito for not being a genius prodigy like him.
===
That night they set up camp by a small stream and Minato goes to place some of his hiraishin kunai in strategic spots in case they are ambushed in the night, leaving the kids to make dinner. Kakashi is chopping up some vegetables they had found in an abandoned garden (lots of abandoned things to be found in war time) and Rin is slowly roasting a rabbit over a fire (Rin is good at traps) and Obito is going on about his Minato-is-a-mind-reader theory again (he’s supposed to be fetching water for the stew).
“Obito, the water isn’t going to fetch itself you know.”
“Why don’t you just use a water-jutsu, since you seem to know everything.”
“Because we’re literally feet away from a clean stream and I’m not wasting chakra if I don’t need to.”
“Yeah, okay, but weren’t you listening? I proved that Minato is a mind reader!”
“I must have missed that, sorry, I was too busy doing my job.”
“He knew I was looking at the back of his head!”
“He’s a ninja.”
“And he knew that we argued earlier!”
“Because we always argue.”
“Okay than how do explain earlier when-“
“How’s the stew coming along?”
Minato’s back. Obito scrambles to his feet and practically runs to the stream, pot in hand and face flushed red with embarrassment. Kakashi stares after him.
===
They’re halfway to the northern front and they stop at a small resort town to sleep in real beds and take real baths and Obito has finally shut up about his Minato the Mind Reader Theory. It’s a good day. The only problem is, now Kakashi can’t stop thinking about Obito’s Minato the Mind Reader Theory. He knows it’s ridiculous, that Minato isn’t really a mind reader, but there’s still something about how quickly he figures everything out that’s sticking in Kakashi’s head like a burr. How does he do it? His sensei is a genius, but so is he, if he’s to believe everyone he’s ever known, so why can’t he figure it out?
Kakashi lets out a groan and sinks deeper into the hot spring.
“Is something wrong, Kakashi?”
It is a little disconcerting how attuned to his teammates emotions Minato-sensei is. Maybe Obito is on to something. Kakashi groans again and dips further into the water. Minato-sensei raises an eyebrow but doesn’t say anything. And then there’s a large splash as Obito practically jumps into the water and if Kakashi could sink further into the water without drowning he would.
After a while, Minato-sensei leaves to check on Rin and prepare for the last leg of the journey tomorrow, and Kakashi is left alone with Obito and a choice. He can go on pushing aside Obito’s theory, because it’s ridiculous, or he can utilize Obito’s sheer force of will to get to the bottom of this. He closes his eyes, prays that he’s not making a huge mistake, and says, “I think you might be on to something.”
Obito scrunches up his face in confusion, as Kakashi’s words take a few seconds to sink in, and then a huge, shit-eating grin breaks across his face and Kakashi knows he’s made a mistake, that Obito will never let him live this down, but there’s no turning back now.
===
Something’s up with his kids, and he can’t figure out what. The three of them have been whispering furtively behind his back all day, and he would be ecstatic about this apparent teamwork if it weren’t for the fact that he knows better. They’re plotting something. Something that’s important enough to override the childish rivalry between Obito and Kakashi (he really needs to do something about that). Minato tries to push down any worries about what they could be planning and focus instead on the fact that they aren’t at each other’s throats at the moment. Hopefully it lasts until the end of the mission.
Obito and Kakashi’s whispering becomes more heated as the day goes on, especially when Rin joins him for a quick chat, leaving the boys to argue without her mediating presence. As soon as Rin joins them again, they calm down, and Rin looks pleased at the effect she has on them. She’s wicked smart and clear headed, and Minato is infinitely grateful that he got her on his team instead of a third type-A personality. She’s a good influence on them both.
===
Rin is smiling. Obito and Kakashi have united for a common goal. It is a little odd that Kakashi of all people has latched onto Obito’s theory, but she’s not one to question a good thing. It’s not entirely without fault, as they’re still bickering furiously at each other, but she’s at least sure that it won’t break out into a fist fight. So that’s something, at least. Right now, Obito is trying to explain how Minato’s supposed “mind-reading” powers work, and Kakashi is countering each statement with common-sense. Rin is glad that she’s not the one that has to do it, she hates seeing the look on Obito’s face when she shuts down his ideas. Irritation is a much easier emotion to handle than heart-break.
“He can hear the thoughts of the people around him,” Obito says.
“So he can hear what we’re thinking right now? He knows that we’re trying to figure him out?”
“…Probably not?”
“That’s great, Obito, I’m so glad that you’ve got it all figured out.”
“…Was that sarcasm?”
“No.”
“Was that sarcasm?”
They descend into silence while Obito clearly tries to come up with a more rock-solid explanation of Minato-sensei’s supposed powers.
“Maybe it’s like a jutsu! A mind-reading jutsu!”
“…Like the Yamanaka?”
“…”
“You forgot about the Yamanaka, didn’t you.”
“…no?”
Rin sees Kakashi raise his eyebrows incredulously and stifles a laugh herself. Obito blushes.
“It’s different!”
“How is it any different?”
“It just is.” Obito pauses, then a smile breaks across his face. “Or maybe it’s not? Maybe Minato-sensei is a secret Yamanaka love-child!”
Kakashi stops in his tracks.
“No.”
“Think about it! He’s blonde, can read minds, it’s a perfect fit!”
“No.”
Rin has to agree. That’s a bit of a stretch. Kakashi seems to be taking the insinuation personally, though. Kakashi and Minato-sensei are close, so if anyone would know he would. Rin can see Kakashi’s hands balled into a tight fist and Obito looks about to open his mouth again and it’s time to stop this before they get in a fight. Time to pull out the ace up her sleeve.
“But-”
“Hey Obito, I think I came up with a way to test your theory!”
“Really? What is it, Rin?”
Rin smiles, then shouts ahead to where their jonin sensei is still walking.
“Hey, Minato-sensei! What am I thinking of right now?”
“You’re thinking that it’s time for Obito and Kakashi to stop trying to prove I’m a mind-reader and focus on the mission!”
Obito and Kakashi’s jaws drop in shock and amazement and Rin smirks. Success.
Approximately 15 years later:
Kakashi’s not an idiot, despite how he may appear to those who haven’t heard of him. He knows when he’s being tailed. Especially when he’s being tailed by three barely even genin kids. Especially his barely even genin kids. They’re not very good in the stealth department, and it’s honestly adorable how hard they’re trying. Any of them might have had a chance on their own, but with all three of them trailing after him there’s far too much whispered insults (from Sasuke), elbow banging (from Naruto), and hushing (from Sakura) for there to be any hope of remaining unnoticed. Do they think he only has one working ear along with the one working eye?
But he lets them tail him anyway. It’s good practice, which they obviously need, and Kakashi is a little curious what they’re tailing him for.
It doesn’t take too long to figure it out. Especially once they blow their cover (Sasuke had bumped Naruto out of a tree and Naruto isn’t particularly graceful at falling) and decide to try a more direct approach.
“Hey Kakashi-sensei! Fancy seeing you! What a coincidence! I didn’t expect you to be here!”
Naruto is loud and eager and scrambling to find an excuse and Kakashi feels a deep and familiar pang in his heart. He forces a smile on his face.
“You didn’t expect to see me here? In the village where we both live? Yes, that is a surprise.”
Kakashi may have laid the sarcasm on a little too thick because Naruto gives him a puzzled look, like he’s trying to parse out what Kakashi said. Sakura and Sasuke are still attempting to remain silent in the tree, though Kakashi swears he can hear them roll their eyes. Feeling a little sorry that he’s leaving the two of them out of the fun he’s having, he calls up to them, mimicking Naruto’s earlier words.
“Sasuke! Sakura! Fancy seeing you here!”
His other two genin seem to have a better grasp at sarcasm because they look a little guilty once they jump down from the tree and land next to Naruto. And Naruto isn’t a complete idiot, because he looks at their faces and Kakashi can see him scrambling to come up with a plan that won’t end up with all three of them in trouble for stalking their sensei.
“Uh, yeah, we uhhhh…hmmmm…errr…” Naruto looks helplessly at his teammates, but neither of them jump in, probably content to let Naruto take the fall if things go south. Finally, Naruto gets around to spitting out some actual words and sputters out, “We wanted to see if you would come get lunch with us! At Ichiraku’s!”
It’s hard to say no to Ichiraku’s, and it’s harder to say no to Naruto, so Kakashi says yes, still suspicious of what they’re after. Naruto gives a not-subtle-at-all thumbs up to his teammates and gives Kakashi a big grin.
“Lead the way, Sensei!”
===
Yeah, his team definitely needs to work on their subtlety. It’s the work of a few minutes to determine what they’re after. The three of them, even Naruto, have barely touched their ramen. Instead, they keep glancing sideways at Kakashi every few seconds, each time Kakashi so much as twitches a finger. It’s very distracting, and very obvious. Kakashi raises his eyebrow under his headband. So that’s what they’re after. Well they’re not the first, and Kakashi finishes off his ramen with practiced ease before turning to face his kids, eyes crinkled and a smile plastered on under his mask.
“I thought you guys were hungry?”
He’s never seen his team eat a meal so fast.
===
Kakashi leaves them behind with the bill and a cheery wave, and finds himself five minutes later in front of the Memorial Stone.
“Hey, Obito.”
Kakashi always feels a little awkward, standing here, talking to ghosts. But it’s cathartic, and there’s a part of him that hopes maybe Obito will hear him, wherever he is.
“I think I have to apologize to Sensei. Being a jonin-sensei really puts things into perspective. He put up with so much, dealing with us. I think my kids put our own team to shame, though. I thought trying to prove Minato-sensei was a mind reader was a ridiculous stunt, but Naruto makes you look like an amateur. Would you believe that he tried to convince Sasuke and Sakura that I have buck teeth? Buck teeth!”
Kakashi lets out a little laugh, and imagines Obito doing the same.
“It was nice to see them working as a team for once though. I guess I can understand why Rin and Sensei would put up with all of your crazy ideas, if it meant that we were focused on something other than antagonizing each other.”
Kakashi sighs, his good mood beginning to vanish under a cloud of regret.
“They remind me so much of us, Obito. It hurts, knowing that we were kids like them, once, before the war ruined us all. Before I ruined us all. I hope they never have to go through it. I swear, Obito, I won’t make the same mistakes again. This team is going to stick together.”
There’s no answer, but Kakashi hadn’t expected one.

all the prime numbers >:)
Welp! Let’s do this! Thanks Os! :D
And Tomoko has seen quite a few asks. So…hm. Half will go to Tomoya, and then the other half Hikari. Mainly since these two haven’t gotten a lot of spotlight in asks.
Put under the cut.
Hoshino Tomoya (Tomoko’s trans girl counterpart)
01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?
Now this has an interesting story, since some of the origins don’t fully come from me. When initially coming up with Tomoko, Tomoya’s original self, she was initially conceived to be a ninja that was to be in a team under Kushina with ninja versions of Leo and Josh. The story was scrapped, but I still kept the notes. Josh was the one who came up with her name, being a representation of her character and how he saw me as a bright friend, I guess. Hoshino being “in the star field” and Tomoko being “friendly child.”
I was the one who ended up coming up with Tomoya’s name, consulting with Josh, and ultimately sticking with it. Tomoya in some translations means “wise one,” and I thought it would be a nice contrast to Tomoko, since she unfortunately can’t be as open as Tomoko can be.
02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?
Her loved ones and friends abandoning her for finding out about her reincarnation status and want to be a girl. I tried to convey that as much as I could in the initial oneshot where Tomoya met Tomoko, but the fear is more than even Tomoko’s own personal fear of being forgotten, because Tomoya has so much on her chest. Being a reincarnation with these memories of the Naruto world, knowing that in a previous life that she was happy, and the simple fact that she’s now a girl in a boy’s body, and it’s not the life she really wanted to begin with. And on hiding it, I’d like to think Tomoya does a much better job at hiding things in general than Tomoko, because there’s more than just memories on the line now.
03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves?
Unlike Tomoko, something that Tomoya adores is her hair. Despite inheriting most of Judai’s physical characteristics, such as angular face and eye shape, Tomoya still has Hikari’s silky hair, which she grows out to have in a ponytail, just to have that feminine flare and connection to her real self. Inwardly, Hisako is all the more proud.
05. Are they sexually confident or more of the shy type?
Shy. No question about that. Vy was sexually repulsed and awkward, Tomoko’s still awkward, and Tomoya? No doubt - she’s awkward too.
07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)?
Tomoya never really caught on until Judai pointed it out, but she does have a habit of whistling softly, her tongue touching the roof of her mouth while doing so, when unsure or merely bored. Hikari was quite amused at the various noises Tomoya could make in times of silence, since it could range from high pitched solos to simple wind-blowing.
11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage?
If someone misgendered her as a guy and kept doing so, even after she went on to correct them. Forget Kakashi being mad, Tomoya would be the one to sock the offender in the face first.
Hell, if the offender tried to force her into a male-dominated role or wear male clothing, she’ll be pretty mad. Only Hikari or Judai could really calm her down at that point.
13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker?
Tomoya, unlike Tomoko, wouldn’t be much of a Cuddle Bug, but rather a blanket stealer, taking up all the blankets in her sleep while shifting every now and then to make a burrito, snoring deeply all the while. While Tomoko inherited Judai’s penchant for drooling sometimes, Tomoya inherited the snores.
The blanket thing though? It’s to make up for the lack of hugs that Vy got to do constantly back in her days.
17. Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children?
Tomoya never really thought about having children. If anything, like Tomoko, she kinda yearns for a simple life where her loved ones don’t have to deal with war or handle ridiculous alien-bullshit on the level Boruto goes on. So it’s an iffy subject.
Hoshino Hikari
19. Would your character be the kind to get into fights? (physical or verbal) Would they be a good fighter or cave in rather easily?
I’d like to think she could. If not for common sense and her own physical strength as a civilian wearing her down, I could easily imagine Hikari going on to deck people like the Third Hokage just because she can. Hiruzen kinda put Judai through the wringer, and with how he’s handling Team Minato and Tomoko, Hikari’s fists are raised. Nonetheless, she’s a civvie. So it probably won’t end well, and she knows it. So, she uses her words and voice instead. It’s had a much better effect.
23. What is your character like when it comes to school? What subjects are they good/bad at? Do they get in trouble a lot or are well behaved?
Hikari would be that one girl who gets everything done on time, but never really shows off on it. The best subjects for her are Dance and Art Design, because she’s able to improvise on moves while creating outfits that are practical to wear. I’d like to think she’s well behaved, but she would get on the bad side of someone without question if it means defending something or someone she cares about.
29. What is one of the most courageous things your character has ever done for a loved one?
Essentially do what a civilian might see as near suicide in marching up to the Hokage Tower, slamming open the door while in the middle of a debriefing, and verbally chewing Hiruzen out for his sending Judai on so many missions. It’s something that solidified the Hoshino name in many ninjas’ minds as something to be respected, because Judai was completely shocked speechless at the whole thing while the Hokage took it in without even threatening to take her out of the room or kill her. It takes guts to stand up to a military leader, and Hikari did it without a scratch.
Judai couldn’t help but ask her out after his retirement right then and there.
31. Would your character be the kind capable of killing? Would they enjoy killing or only use it when necessary or, perhaps, refuse to kill no matter what?
Hikari, despite her tough-as-nails personality when it comes to things she’s passionate about, would never be able to enjoy killing. Hell, I wouldn’t see her capable of killing. She may think of it, especially if she ever encountered Orochimaru, but The Sea and Stars showed how she couldn’t follow through with that sentiment. If anything, she’d rather let someone else do the killing if it’s really necessary, but she’s not going to like it no matter what.
37. What are some of your character’s pet peeves? What are some things that annoy them or disgust them?
Blood getting everywhere. That’s it. It’s not hemophobia though - if anything, the pet peeve was born from the many times Judai, back when he was single and getting to know her, used her apartment as a getaway from the hospital when he was bored, and she still shrieks bloody murder when he does that these days. Tomoko usually has to duck away or cover her eyes first, because that’s one of the few times Judai has to deal with Hikari’s anger directly.
41. Does your character’s family affect your character in any way?
I’ve mentioned this in an ask before, but Hikari’s parents are still alive, if not distant. Unlike Hikari, who chose to rebel from the usual unspoken civilian thought and befriend ninja, her parents were somewhat clean-cut in raising her, expecting her to at least marry a good husband and continue in the usual life.
Hence when they heard of her friendship with Judai, they weren’t all that approving, and disapproved even more when she moved out of the house to go to her own apartment and raise money for her cafe dream. “You’re too naive and reckless,” they said. Once news got out about the whole Hikari-chewing-out-the-Third-Hokage situation, though, they cut ties so that they wouldn’t be caught up in what they saw as Hikari’s mess.
Needless to say, Tomoko hasn’t exactly seen her maternal grandparents aside from the occasional picture, and with the situation with Sakumo and Kakashi, Hikari’s still debating. Judai does encourage her to reconcile with them, since they did care enough for her to leave on somewhat amicable terms, but it’s still up in the air.
43. Does your character have a switch that changes aspects of their personality whether they are around friends, family, etc. Is there someone who gets to see their true self?
Hm, it’s not exactly a “switch”, per say, but more of a small button that Hikari almost always has on the “ON” setting since getting to know Judai. He helped her open up first.
A lot of her free, creative self has then been around more since marrying him and having Tomoko. Heck, this “true” self has gone on to be how Sakumo, Kakashi, Obito, RIn, and, bringing in The Sea and Stars, how Miyako, Wataru, Hayate, and Kei see her as. The fashion-designer, violinist, and overall awesome “Aunt Hikari.” And to Tomoko, she’s “Mama”, and since “Mama” was Tomoko’s first word, Hikari takes it all in stride.
46. What is some random affectionate thing that your character always does to their lover?
Peck Judai on the lips whenever he’s caught thinking. Needless to say, it helps bring the innate ninja paranoia in him down when it’s her, and he’s left blushing and laughing because of it.

I don't hate Sakura, but I don't quite like her, maybe I just don't get it? Could you please give me some reasons as to why you like her? PS: this is NOT hate. Just trying to understand. 💕
Ahh that’s such a tough question!! It’s far easier to explain Sakura’s development than to explain your own reasons for liking her!! But I’ll give it a shot!!
There are many reasons I like sakura. She’s strong, girly, goofy, temperamental, intelligent, beautiful, such a hard worker, kind, selfless and downright Caring in nature!! These are the reasons I like her. Not why I adore her.
As to why I adore her? Easy. When I look at sakura? I see myself. To explain this? I’ll start by telling you the cliche.
In most Shonen mangas ( or at least the ones I’ve read and tbh I haven’t read many. It takes a huge commitment to devote yourself into such a long series) heroines have some very common and distinctive characteristics in them. They are loud. Brash. Tsundere Character type. They have a tragic background. Have some sort of power within themselves. They also are introduced as girls who are unsure of their skills and talents. And their development usually revolve around how they became more and more sure of their abilities. I’ve noticed this a lot that a heroine develops for the hero. It’s just something I’ve noticed. Considering that I see so many heroines like these? They became cliche. I do love some heroines but none come close to sakura. And it’s because these typical heroines? Are not relatable. They don’t affect me. Their struggles don’t touch me. I can’t relate to them. But I do relate to Sakura. And there are many reasons how I relate to her.
Sakura might be the only shonen heroine I’ve encountered with till now who comes from a normal background. She was born in a normal family, had Normal parents and had a normal childhood ( as said by kishi) To me that felt new. Like a breath of fresh air. Cause I got something different. I found something I can relate to. Some anti’s I have encountered with? Claim to hate sakura Because she had such a normal childhood. She never lost anyone close to her. Which is weird Because these anti’s? Have the same background as Sakura herself.
Her obsession for her hair. Now this I can relate to!! Considering the fact that Naruto was published in the 90’s? Back then long hair was a sign of beauty and femininity. When I was young? I used to constantly obsess with my hair. And I used to throw a temper tantrum when my mother forced me to cut them.Cause in my eyes I was no longer “pretty” as I didn’t have long hair. So to see sakura obsess over her’s? Honestly it was like seeing a mirror!! It also showed me how ridiculous I was being. In a way sakura kinda pushed me to reflect on myself.
You see when Sakura was introduced? She was portrayed as a shallow Character with good intentions. This was shown to us when she “insulted” Naruto but felt guilty right after she was called out for it. So she didn’t know she made a mistake. Which was so new to me!! Cause when I was young? I used to make insensitive remarks all the time without knowing I was wrong. So again seeing sakura made me realize my own mistakes!!
Her mental growth. You see what fascinated me the most was witnessing how sakura matured. At the beginning she saw Naruto as an annoyance and dead weight. But in the chunin exams she is encouraging him in his battle against Kiba and had full faith in his abilities when everyone else was doubting naruto. With sasuke? Sakura never considered his feelings at the beginning. To her? Making Sasuke hers was top priority. At least that’s what I thought in the beginning. Yet in the land of waves? She cried her heart out for him!! Proving us that her feelings weren’t so shallow!! And in the chunin exam? She did nothing but tried to help Sasuke and tried to understand his reasoning. She easily saw the difference in his demeanor and wanted nothing more but to help him!! Watching her mental growth? Was really inspiring to me!! Cause typically with most heroines their always introduced as sweet and understanding characters. But with sakura I got to see how she became an understanding Character!!
Inner sakura. Do I need to explain? Everyone has an inner.
Her reasons for loving sasuke. Okay many claim that sakura only “loved” Sasuke based on his looks and popularity. Which isn’t true!! Because in “sakura & ino” chapter we saw in the flashback that sakura was surprised to know that sasuke was popular!! So that took down one lie. As I’ve said above, when sakura cried her heart out when she thought Sasuke was “dead” it showed us that her crush wasn’t superficial. No doubt that when she had a crush on him? It was more of a celebrity crush. Which developed so beautifully!! I don’t have to go in great details to show you sakura’s love for Sasuke. It’s pretty obvious. But the reason I’m gonna explain. It’s true that unlike Hinata or Karin? Sakura’s reason for her love was never addressed. But as I’ve said it’s obvious. Normally? A girl doesn’t fall in love with a guy because he saver her from a bear. Or saved her from herself misery. Cause the odds of that happening? Are mostly in movies, dramas, shoujo mangas and occasionally in real life as well. But it’s not common. Because normally? A girl loves a guy because she got to know him. Not everyone needs a Oscar winning reason. Naruto doesn’t, neither does shikamaru, temari, ino, obito etc. Again Sakura is shown to be a very relatable character Because everyone has at least one characteristics as her’s,
Her bond with ino. First of all I’ll like to clear the air here. “ Sakura and ino didn’t broke up their friendship over sasuke!!”  They broke it off cause sakura wanted to grow outside of Ino’s shadow and become worthy enough to be her rival -which ino accepted. Them fighting over sasuke? Was like another competition. Like how Naruto fights with Sasuke over trivial things. I can understand that very well because I’ve lived in my siblings shadow my whole life!! So wanting to break free from it?makes It’s something I can understand. But watching Sakura’s and Ino’s friendship? I was again able to learn from her. Learn that sometimes having a rival motivated you. And it motivated me to try my level best to come at par with my siblings. The journey helped me grow so much!!
When sakura cuts her hair? That was the day I realized that short hair are cool.
So you see? Sakura attracted me because she was someone I could relate to. Who made stupid mistakes and admitted to them. Who tried hard to improve herself but still couldn’t fix herself completely. Because everyone has flaws. And adore how sakura tried to conquer her’s!!She developed from a weak and talentless konuichi to the strongest one ever. All while not having any sorts of special powers!! No kekhi genki, no clan jutsu, no tailed beast. Just herself and her determination. Cause sakura represents something better than any other typical heroines do.
Sakura shows us that you don’t need an extraordinary background to become an extraordinary personHonestly
I could go on and on with Sakura. There are many reasons I like her. She’s very flawed and I like that. Because she’s just so human!! There are so many instances in my life where sakura helped me alot. She showed me how to take challenges!!Watching her bloom was like watching myself bloom!! Having a relatable Character is so nice!! Because now you have someone who can touch you on an emotional level.
I won’t deny that sakura never made mistakes. But she learns from them!! She developed for herself!! She broke the chain of stereotypes!!
And watching all the hate surrounding her for the most ridiculous reasons?“ Her boobs are small” “ she cries a lot” “ she can only heal” “ she punches naruto all the time” “ she didn’t choose naruto” “ her crush on Sasuke is ridiculous and annoying” “ she’s abusive” etc.  It kinda hurt because I saw so much of myself in sakura? It felt I was being attacked. I know that Silly but that’s how I felt. Which is why I love her more!! The more the hate she received? The more I loved her❤❤

{{1/3}} Hi! Could I please get a male matchup for Naruto? I'm usually quite shy and quiet but I open up to people I trust. I can be stubborn but I'm not unreasonable - if I know I'm wrong, I'll admit it. I can be loving, kind and considerate of other people's feelings. I love being a good friend. I have the driest sense of humour going, I can be very sarcastic. I enjoy reading and listening to music, and I love a good nap when I can fit one in.

☰ Matched with Kiba
You pique Kiba’s eye pretty soon afterthe two of you first meet though he may not immediately ask you out, he’ll try andget to know you better first possibly even become friends first and ease into aromantic relationship. Once he feels like the time is right, he’ll ask you outand when he does, he’ll seem rather embarrassed and have a hard time actuallyasking you out and getting the words out.
But once he does and you agree to goout with him, he will be very confident and enthusiastic about dating. He becomesvery attached to you in a short time and he is extremely loyal and protectiveover you, he is also very outgoing and will push you out of your comfort zone evena bit forcefully at times because he does want you to experience new things andtry new things with him.
You can be shy and quiet, but you do open up to thepeople you trust and Kiba is very open and honest with you from the verybeginning, even being pretty blunt about his thoughts and feelings.
He doesn’tmind PDA and can come across very clingy, touchy and affectionate, he’ll enjoyholding hands with you and leaning against you and can really invade yourpersonal space at times and he really won’t like giving you alone time but he willreluctantly give you space if he has to but he really won’t like it, in fact hewon’t like being away from you for very long at all and can get agitated if hehas to spend hours or days away from you.
You can be stubborn and so can he thoughgenerally you’re not unreasonable and neither is he, but he can certainly bemore difficult about things then you, when he is wrong sometimes, he’llapologize but not easily and he can seem very annoyed about the situation. He ispretty easy going and open to ideas and doing things so he can become prettyexcited if you make suggestions for dates or trips or things to do in general, especially if you seem very happy or enthusiastic about an idea.
He pays a lotof attention to you and he can be pretty observant when he wants to be and othertimes, he can be extremely oblivious, it simply depends on the situation. Kibadoes like to be encouraging towards you and can boost your self esteem quite abit especially any time you are feeling low because he constantly cheers you onand praises you for big and small things and will always let you know when he’sproud of you, he’ll want you to know how much he thinks of you and will wantyou to see yourself the way he sees you.
Kiba is perfectly content spendingtime with you in simple ways or going all out and spending the day at anamusement park, water park, spa, hot springs, Zoo or more, but he’s alsoperfectly comfortable staying home or being outdoors.
