its so wild to have gone from the mianite days where it was all about the boys and boy kissers to be in the day where we all love the girls and the girl kissers. not to say one is better than the other, but i joined the fandom in the bleak, empty year of 2017 and finding content for Sonja, Capsize, hell even Martha, was like looking for a needle in a haystack bigger than the state of texas. its wild.

(I was going through my drafts and found the start of a marthathemystic x omgitsfirefox fic i was working on that i just stopped working on immediately i had a working title of either tipping the scales or a bit of madness. I was having trouble writing so this is all i have)

Kinda weird question-

What is mianite? I know it's a mcyt smp (I assume) but what happens in it- your posts about it fascinate and confuse me

mianite was a minecraft smp that started in may of 2014! it had three seasons (the third was kind of a prequel and also apparently sucks) with the first being in 2014-2015, the second being in 2015-2016, and the third starting in 2020 and ending. idk when it ended actually i havent watched it yet.

the four main players on it were jordan captainsparklez, tom syndicate, tucker iijeriichoii, and sonja omgitsfirefoxx. waglington, a member of the minecraft building team fyreuk, took on more of a player character role in s2.

the series' entire premise is that there's a god of order (Mianite) and a god of chaos (Dianite) who were brothers. what really makes things interesting is that captainsparklez walked in, saw this, went "nice dichtonomy idiot, now what lies outside of it?" and invented his own fucking goddess (Ianite, goddess of balance) half out of sheer spite.

the mianite series overall is very much a product of the time period it was made in. its half baked in a few places and clearly made clumsily but with love. theres pirates. theres one of the most trans coded characters ive ever seen in a mcrp ever. jordan's pov of s1 and s2 combined is 200 episodes long and easily around 350-400 hours of watch time. I've watched all of it. Its barely worth it. My thoughts on it can be summed up by this screenshot:

sonja hadn’t expected anything when she made it her mission to bring capsize back from the dead- properly this time. nothing good comes out of trying to play god, martha had told her so many times, ianites already tried, she's gone for good. to be completely honest, there was a point sonja had started to wonder if she was right. if pouring over thaumian texts for countless restless nights, experimenting with necromancy in hiding, if none of it would be worth it in the end. however, she never could have expected that in the time of the two getting reacquainted with one another when she finally was successful, that she would find herself, washed in the pastel pinks, oranges and subtle blues of twilight with the pirate captain's sweet lips pressed against hers, the setting sun through the pillars of mianite's temple glowing softly on them. it was a feeling of home she couldn't quite describe, but it was one she knows she hadn't felt in a long time.
