At the end of the day, I'm unlovable. Fundamentally. Always have been. And you fell for me? Joke is on you.
Ziggy, after Dillon found him crying in the laundry room two hours after he told him he loved him.

Absolutely no one ever:
Ziggy: I’ve never smoked anything. I ate a brownie once at a party. It was intense. It was kind of indescribable. I felt like I was floating. Turns out there was no pot in the brownie. It was just an insanely good brownie

Omfg. Venting. Just low key almost died. LOL.
I have this old ass truck. It’s not ancient ancient but it’s like a 97? A Ford Ranger. Idk something like that. Not as old as my cool old Chevy was. But it does have like 280K miles on it lol.
Anyways. Usually it’s a tank. But it had some issues a few days previously and then today those issues kinda came to the front.
It had died randomly when I was in town last week. No issue, I just restarted. Had to stop in the middle of the road but it’s down town ish so no one is going that fast.
But today! Just a few minutes ago! It was losing power going up our steep hill. We live on a steep gravel hill that’s between 13-15 percent grade in most spots. Go look up how steep that is if you don’t know. It’s steep steep. Especially for a drivable hill.
So I’m backing out of our lower driveway (where the animals are) loaded up with my dog and my freshly milked goat milk and as I go to chug up the hill to our house the Rpm’s just TANK. I’m revving first gear and it is not going. It’s sputtering like it’s gonna die. I slam on the brakes and engage the E brake (idk about newer cars but on old cars the brakes don’t work properly when the engine is off) (this is a stick shift car idk if I mentioned that).
So then im stuck. I can’t get it to power up or whatever. I’m not a car person. I try different gears and just gunning it and it doesn’t work. Im terrified to turn it off all the way. And my cellphone A) doesn’t work rn and B) doesn’t get reception on the hill even if it did work. The only person close to me is Quiet Dave the neighbor who doesn’t talk to anyone. And there’s a REAL possibility that my truck just fucking rolls off the cliff on either side of our STEEP ASS HILL and no one even sees what happens.
So long story short. I do restart it. Multiple times. And on one of those times the RPMs went up. Gunned it and it worked. Totally damaged my poor E brake, I smelled rubber, but I refused to disengage it until I was moving. I finally disengaged it and made it up the hill. It almost died again near the top but we made it.
To say I was shaken is an embarrassing understatement. I was like. Ugly sobbing. My poor dog was looking at me like I was an alien. I was shaking so bad I could barely walk. I have so much driving anxiety (anxiety doesn’t even cover it) and I HATE driving up this all already. This fucking hill has been a source of stress for me for almost literally my entire life. (My uncle used to live where my brother / neighbor lives now and we used to come here for thanksgiving and Christmas sometimes and I vividly remember thinking that we’d just slide backwards down the hill and into oblivion cuz there’s no way any car could just keep climbing up this insane hill).
Anyways. I bitch constantly about the hill but here’s a good example of how it’s legitimately scary sometimes. All fun and games until ur brakes don’t work right and you remember there’s nothing but canyons and trees and blackberry bushes on either side. 😭😭😭

Note
it's not just that RPM is a case of "when the corporation doesn't intervene". iirc, the showrunner at the start actually pitched the idea of a super serious post-apocalypse season FIRST, maybe because they knew it was going to be the last season (at the time) or maybe just because, I forget which, and then after it got OK-ed and they were basically locked into that idea, THEN they saw the Go-onger footage, realized how goofy the source material was, and were actually freaking out for a bit because they thought they'd shot themselves in the foot with no idea how to make it serious when the cars have literal anime eyes and can talk. the whole season is WILD, and I wholeheartedly recommend looking up Linkara's History of Power Rangers series for this season if nothing else after you finish watching the actual show.
It really speaks to how impactful it must have been that so many have been coming to teach me more about this series' production history. It's genuinely endearing! I'm so curious now I'll definitely give that a look!

Dear #Wizardsofthecoast, I have been playing DnD for upwards of 7 years. And in my time I have never seen you do anything so repulsive, reckless, and damagingcome 2 your community as you have done with this recent change of the gaming license. Due to said choices, I am removing myself from your fan base and your wallet. I understand the need for protecting the fan base, but when the protection Becomes controlled and it is no longer protection. You have taken a game that is supposed to bring creativity and joy And made it a source of misery and pain for so many. I believe that Gary guygax has officially hit 25000 RPM in his grave because of the bullshit that you all are pulling.
Now, to all fans of RP g's and tabletop RP g's. I implore you to find new systems. To boycott the D and D books. Branch yourself out! Play Pathfinder or Call of Cthulu but do not Your money to the people who claim to peddle creativity but instead peddle nothing but restriction. Hell, I know I said I would never stoop this low, but I even recommend playing the Power Rangers RPG over Dungeons & Dragons. Do not attend anymore Comic-Con's. Do not Go to see the new Dungeons & Dragons movie when it releases. Wizards of the Coast has made it very clear that they do not care about our feelings, but instead care only about their bottom line. And thus as we are a capitalist society the only power we have to stop this is to close our wallets and open them for a new source.

POWER RANGERS REWRITE: Zeo
Tumblr media
Omega Interlude
This is when the Death Ranger stuff goes down, only with the Aquitar Rangers instead of the MMPR Rangers.
Jason is disconnected from the Morphin Grid, Trini becomes Omega Red, Kevor becomes Omega Yellow, all that stuff.
Though I imagine Zack and Trini are also going to retire soon and go to college.
Zeo
Meanwhile, Zedd, Rita and Rito are a little worse for wear after the Ranger's attck, but still alive and ready to formulate their revenge…
But then the Machine Empire arrives, taking advantage of Zedd’s weakened state to seize the Zeo Crystals, forcing them into exile across the moon.
As for the Machine Empire themselves, they have a bit of RPM and Beetleborg aesthetic.
Zordon sees this and calls on Tommy, Adam, Rocky, Tanya and Kat, giving them the Zeo Morphers.
To tie everything together, the Zeo Morphers are Triforia’s rangers but the initial Zords might be sourced from an entirely different team of rangers.
As for the Triforians themselves, they have three eyes (Think the Puram from Boom! Comics)
The Gold Ranger powers aren’t meant to be wielded by one person, which Trey circumvents via his curse.
When he leaves, the Gold Ranger powers are split between a rotating cast of returning rangers, including Jason, as the powers allow him to circumvent his interrupted connection.
Tommy and Kimberly do break up, but face to face this time. In the aftermath, Tommy decides to leave and pursue his own life.
In turn, Billy, returned from Aquitar with Cestro, dons the mantle of Ranger once more.
During all of this, Kay has been plagued by nightmares and visions, courtesy of Rita, taking advantage of the vestigial connection from the mind control plot.
The OG Zeo Zords/Super Zeo Zords are shepherded to Earth by Trey, who takes the powers back to Triforia once the threat is over
Speaking of threat, the Royal Family basically tears itself apart when Louie Kaboom, a Machine Empire mage hunting Rita & Zedd, is convinced to take power and assassinates Mondo, leading to Gasket’s arrival.
Rita capitalizes on her connection to Kat by creating Cog Changer for Louie to present to Mondo, destroying the Zeo Megazord and jet cycles.
Mondo, now overconfident, attacks them personally, only for Trey to arrive with Pyramidas and squash him flat.
Cue Impursonator to keep the rangers occupied and try and kill Kat. Thankfully that part fails.
Rita and Zedd eventually take advantage of this chaos, storming the castle while the Zeo Rangers are engaged in their final battle with Gasket, and massacre most of the inhabitants, but Sprocket escapes with Venjix’s help to enact a Shakespearean revenge.
The Zeo & Omega Rangers once again race to the moon…only to find the castle abandoned, Zedd and Rita having left for parts unknown.
Still, with the primary threat defeated, the Rangers disband, going their separate ways.
