This scene is so intense and great .... in the first picture you can see that Christine is "squeezing" or "pinching" him with her hands, what's the best way to call it? I wonder why she's doing this.

The other pictures show them both waiting for one to make the first move and kiss the other. I think Spock turns first because he's at the point where he can't control himself anymore... which is why he turns away.

i have a few criticisms for how they are handling spock x christine, but i strongly disagree with the takes that spapel antis have.

christine is not leading spock on. christine never asked spock for anything and never promised him anything. all she's ever been to him is a good friend. yes, she wanted a deeper connection with spock but she never pushed him to change anything in his life for her, it was quite the opposite, actually. it was spock's decision and initiative to actively pursue a romantic relationship with christine.

christine doesn't know how to be in a relationship, she is afraid of intimacy and has commitment issues. she can't suddenly resolve all of her issues bc she is with the person she loves, it doesn't work like that. especially after being told that she is just a phase for said person and having her war ptsd triggered.

spock is not pretending to be something he is not for christine. he said it himself that he doesn't want to surprises his feelings for her. spock being attentive, emotional and accommodating to christine is simply his genuine expression of love for christine. yes, he tires to connect with his humanity for her, what's so wrong about that? god forbid a man ties to be emotionally sensitive and mature for his female partner!

spock apologized to christine in "hegemony" bc he was at fault for intentionally heightening christine's emotions so that she is forced to bare her thoughts/feelings. yes, your blorbo made a mistake and took an accountability instead of pitying himself and being entitled.

christine is not taking away from spock's relationships with other characters, especially considering how the context of these relationships is often interpreted through fanon lens. addressing the elephant in the room, i'd say christine/spapel negativity boils down to snw making christine be as important to spock as are kirk, uhura and mccoy, which angers both canon puristis and fanon dogmatists.

also… am I supposed to be SUPPORTING Spock/chapel? Bc I totally would be on board but their entire two seasons of relationship have been them having some sort of fucked up emotional affair while he’s engaged to like the coolest Vulcan lady ever??? And everyone on enterprise is basically encouraging them? HES ENGAGED. I can’t. He’s basically cheating on T’pring by the time she asked for time apart which like girl run bc he keeps lying and breaking her trust AND THEN HE JUST IMMEDIATELY GETS WITH CHAPEL??? LIKE WHAT??? I’m so disappointed in my faves that I can’t even properly ship them despite wanting to deep inside. Also Justice for T’pring.
