Tommy's father is a man named Akira. In Annaleigh's man verse, her relationship with Akira was a drunken one night stand. She hasn't seen him since the night they had sex and didn't know how to contact him. They didn't exchange numbers and neither knew each other's last names. All she had to go on was drunken memories.

Had she been able to track him down, she would've wanted him to be apart of Tommy's life or at the very least, know of his son's existence. Annaleigh didn't want Tommy to have to grow up without a father figure in his life, but there wasn't much else she could do. With her past gang ties, she didn't want to stay in the city either.

In the Yugioh verse, Akira was Annaleigh's boyfriend. They dated on and off during Battle City's arc. He was a popular among his classmates and known as a bad boy, often breaking hearts. At the time, Annaleigh wasn't bothered by his playboy nature, because she didn't want anything serious.

After Battle City comes to a close, Annaleigh and Akira have a night of unprotected sex. Their night together wasn't planned. Had it been, one of them probably would've come prepared. A few weeks later she discovers she's pregnant. When she tells him, Akira denies the baby is his and calls her a slew of hateful names. He says he never wants to see her again, which leaves her heartbroken. Rumors start getting spread about her and before long everyone at her school knows about her pregnancy.

When Tommy is born, Annaleigh gets the courts involved and they make him get a paternity test. Which, proves that Akira is the baby's father. Despite this, he wants nothing to do with Tommy or Annaleigh. She ends up taking him to court again and he is forced to pay child support by the court.
