I'm still devastated over what happened to Storyscape. The sadness of what happened hits out of nowhere. How could you take such a magnificent storytelling platform away.

does anyone remember when storyscape was still alive, there was this 'would you be interested in' blurb about a story in the works, called something like phantom romance, where you kinda travel in time and romance a ghost, set in france? so like braidwood manor x marie antoinette vibes?
i think it was proposed by the writer who left choices for storyscape, and i'm not sure but i think they're back working at choices now?
anyways, what are the chances "the ghost of us" is that book?

So, there’s a story on this app, Romance Club, called Hell and High Water. It’s a post-apocalyptic story, where you play as a heroine who captains a boat in a future where the world is flooded and boats are the main transportation and means of connection between different islands (seems to be more environmental catastrophe apocalypse than zombie apocalypse, which I actually really like. We’ve seen something similar in Storyscape, where your MC has to survive in a frozen world). It just started out, but apparently, it’s not doing too well in the domestic fandom because of all the “forced diversity.” Basically, all the LIs are POC, two of them are women; one of them is a kind and gentle medic who seems to have a yearning for adventure, and the other is a badass captain of another ship. You also have your best friend and crew mate? (I don’t know boat terms) Chand. The side characters are mostly POC as well, and one of them has two dads in a relationship. It’s also the first visual novel story I’ve played where you get to choose your heroine’s body type. Now, Romance Club has a problem with racial and queer diversity in many of its stories. A lot of them revolve around a thin, conventionally pretty, heteronormative, Eurocentric-featured heroine (light-skinned POC sprites and Asian sprites that look white), and white main characters (usually the main male love interest). So it’s pretty cool that there’s this new story that’s not doing that as far as I know. It’s worrying that it’s doing poorly with the domestic audience, however. So I guess this is a boost? Check out the story on the app if you want to. I don’t know if that will be noticeable to the company behind Romance Club that there’s an audience here for diverse adventure genre stories, but hopefully, it could encourage the company to make more stories like this.

I was reminded of the X-Files story and now I'm sad. I miss all the characters; especially the kids from Eternal City
