The purpose of this post is not say that iQIYI's subs are incorrect. Rather, it is to highlight some of the nuances that, in my opinion, may have been lost in translation. We all know that our baby boy Rain is a brat with penchant for swearing, so him actually saying "fuck me" is more in line with his character and works better in context [1]. In this case, the context is Payu's response — he calls Rain a "naughty boy (เด็กขี้วะ)" and bites his lip in a punishing, albeit playful, manner [2]. This is a callback to one of the established rules in their D/s relationship — no swearing.

Broadchurch Gifs 24/?? - 1x01
Alec, as he walks away: “Good.”
Ellie’s reaction: last gif
It’s kind of cute how surprised she is that he tells her she did good work.
I wonder if it’s a deliberate choice from his side? Cause he doesn’t usually throw around praise. What moved him to tell her that?

from the Tolkien Society:
When The Return of the King was published in 1955, Tolkien created Appendix C which did not contain a wife for Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry). In the Note on the Text by Douglas Anderson in recent published copies of The Lord of the Rings, Douglas wrote “Soon after this he sent a small number of further revisions to Ballantine for the appendices, including the now well-known addition of ‘Estella Bolger’ as wife of Meriadoc in the family trees in Appendix C.”
Additional information on Estella Bolger is given in note one of The Family Trees chapter of The Peoples of Middle-earth (edited by Christopher Tolkien) “On one of his copies of the First Edition he added to the genealogy of the Tooks… ‘Estella’ as the sister of Fredegar and her birth-date 1385; and to the Brandybuck genealogy he added to Meriadoc ‘= Estella Bolger 1385’, noting beside this that he told a correspondent in 1965 that ‘I believe he married a sister of Fredegar Bolger of the Bolgers of Budgeford’.“
Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions are auctioning the letter mentioned in The Peoples of Middle-earthon the 22nd October 2015 in their 20th Century Books and Works on Paper sale in London.

For the Silmarillion my first femslash pairing (and the first one I really shipped at that) was Lúthien/Thuringwethil, and it's completely the fault of Miss Kitty's "A Word and a Kiss" which not just opened up the possibility of that pairing (think about it, it makes sense!) but also has some phenomal writing.
I ship that too! Though in my case that was sparked by something someone once said about it, and I’m pretty sure I was linked to that fic in connection with that. It’s a great fic (and it’s here for those of you who haven’t read it. You should go read it. I just reread it. It’s beautiful.)
There’s so much to love about the pairing, too! I’m pretty sure the dichotomy of light and dark has been mentioned before by others, but there’s something oddly compelling about the entire idea of the pairing - especially the way it’s often written, that whole thing where Thuringwethil is just so drawn to the light that is Lúthien, and I especially loved this interpretation by Iavalir - light and dark completing each other and just… wow).
In short: yes, anon, I ship it too and it is a wonderful thing.

Another thing I've been thinking...
The fabric Tony got Virginia for her to make her shepherdess outfit, it's only seen in the skirt. Which makes me think, what if she asked someone for the corset and the boots? In this case, the lady that let them sleep in the barn.
I know it's a weak theory, but the difference of fabric between the dress, the corset and the boots does make one think. Well, at least it made me think xD

The Msscribe Story ~ Charlotte Lennox
"At this time, Msscribe had achieved all her goals. She was friended by everyone she had wanted to be friended by and she could easily have reached any pinnacle of fandom popularity she wanted to reach just by her own considerable talents. Okay, she was only a mediocre fic-writer (in my opinion), but she was a fantastic live journalist -- witty, iconoclastic, eloquent, imaginative, and unfettered by any niggling insistence on factual accuracy. She wrote the kind of posts that get recced and linked not just in the fandom but all over the internet..."
"So why did she continue to the next step? I suspect she was simply addicted to the excitement, the attention, the adrenaline rush of pulling strings and manipulating people and dancing on the edge of exposure. Or maybe she wanted to be a BNF before Nimbus. For whatever reason, she went on."
Y'know what? Fuck it, I'm reccing the msscribe story because it's honestly one of the best, if not most memorable fandom reads I've experienced. Engaging, funny and completely unbelievable - I mean, w o w. This unravels like a flipping Scorsese film. Ok maybe that's a stretch, but there is definitely a touch of the hollywood ludicrous present and even ignoring the raw hilarity derived from the disturbing lesson in what happens when fandom investment goes wrong big-time - the pure snarky arch of the tellers voice is like butter on the tongue. I wasn't involved in hp fandom at all during the period covered so I shan't deny there isn't an element of whatever it is that makes you gorp at a road accident for longer than is social acceptable for non-sociopaths, but there is also no denying how enthralling this tale is. It offers a small (be it one-sided) window into the past and heyday of the hp fandom, one I'm perhaps naively envious of. (I don't know, I just don't think they make wank like this anymore.) So indulge your nostalgia like our generation purportedly loves as much as compulsive self-documentation, with this impressively committed account of fandom legend that has all the gloss of something greater.

We always talk about Rain using the Daddy™️ card to get out of doing his summer reading, but why don't we ever talk about PAYU FORCING RAIN TO READ BECAUSE HE WANTED RAIN TO CALL HIM DADDY?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They match each other's energy so well — the epitome of kinky, unhinged soulmates and we love to see it. But this interesting discovery raises a few questions: Did Payu always have a Daddy kink? Or did Rain's baby boy energy awaken his dormant inclination? Most importantly, how many days of reluctant reading did it take before baby boy Rain got the hint?

Shoutout to @sollucets for pointing out that the 信 (trust) tattooed on Bison's chest is backwards. Now, was this a printing error or intentional artistic flair? Who knows, but allow me to put on my meta-hat for a second.
The 信 appears to be written correctly when reflected in a mirror. This could be on purpose so that when Bison looks in the mirror, he knows that, in this life, he can only trust himself.
Now, if you imagine the tattoo as one of those LED sign projectors, anyone standing in the light-path will have the correct character reflected on them. This could mean that whether or not Bison can trust the person standing in front of him is always in question.
To take a step further, if you imagine the tattoo as a stamp, anyone who is close enough to share a hug, embrace etc. with Bison is someone he trusts because they will have the correct character "stamped" on their chest. A seal of approval, if you will.
Trust is mentioned quite a few times in the trailer, so I'm pretty sure it'll be a recurring a theme especially given the lots' line of work.
What do you guys think?

Drunken Kisses & Mixed Feelings
Kawi has now kissed Pisaeng twice and each of those times he's been drunk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know that Pisaeng was okay the first time it happened (eyes open; face relaxed),
Tumblr media
but something is different this time around. He's confused and conflicted (eyes closed; brows furrowed).
Tumblr media
Going back to the trailer, we see that they get into an argument after the second kiss. My guess is that Kawi getting drunk and kissing Pisaeng has happened more than a couple of times in this timeline (this might be especially true now that we know Kawi is an alcoholic who is very unhappy in his personal life).
Tumblr media
Pisaeng has been fine hanging out on the sidelines as Kawi’s friend and "comfort zone" but it’s really difficult to do that when Kawi keeps crossing the line. Pisaeng has had enough and it will all come to a head in the next episode and I am looking forward to seeing it.
As a reprieve from the angst, it looks like we might also be getting a drunken kiss attempt from Pisaeng after Kawi has asked to date him.

Such a great callback to our runaway groom's first drunken kiss—the one that started it all.

This is by far my one of my favorite scenes because we can see and hear the turning point in their relationship — Rain starts the conversation using the formal/polite first-person pronoun, ‘pom’ (ผม), to refer to himself. But Payu isn’t listening because he’s too busy freaking out so Rain grabs his face to focus his attention and restarts the conversation, this time calling himself by his name:
Listen to Rain (me), P’ Payu.
Rain is still being polite, but him using his name instead of ‘pom’ (ผม) is very significant and feels much more personal in the context of their relationship. As Rain is speaking, he continues to refer to himself by his name and you can see Payu’s expression soften with each passing second (Boss is such a great actor), making way for all the love and adoration he’s been feeling for Rain.
Can Rain (I) stand by your side now?
They haven’t put a label on their relationship yet, but there is no going back from this moment.

You see how happy Rain is to see Payu aka "P' Big Bike"? That is why I just CANNOT deal with how genuinely disappointed and hurt he is as a result of Payu pretending not to remember him—look at how his expression falls ;;
Tumblr media
And what kills me is that at some point, Payu could've probably still gotten Rain WITHOUT manipulating, mansplaining, and manwhoring his way into a meet-cute (using this very loosely; my guy was out here committing crimes lol) because Rain was gone from the moment he laid eyes on Payu I just—

Don't mind me — just thinking about how genius it is to show that Ink and Wai are the only friends that know the truth about Pran and Pat's relationship by having them wear red and blue which are Pran and Pat's colors What's even more insanely genius is that Ink's outfit is fully visible as soon as we see her because she's always been aware and supportive of the boys' relationship while Wai's outfit is partially visible with Pran's color showing first and later Pat's color when he lies down — this lets us know that his friendship with Pran came first but he later became friends with Pat and is now also supportive of their relationship

Okay, but let's talk about the way Phaya keeps kissing Tharn on the side of his face and body because he wants to focus and keep Tharn's attention on him and on nothing else. We know how Tharn can get lost in his head sometimes. And we also have to discuss the way Tharn turns to face Phaya like a sunflower chasing the warmth of the sun that has been shrouded by the clouds for far too long.

Drunken Kisses & Mixed Feelings cont'd
In my last post, I talked about how Kawi's penchant for kissing Pisaeng while drunk might lead to the argument that prompts Pisaeng to say this line:
Tumblr media
To my point, @captain-xandis dropped an absolute gem of an analysis in the tags about this scene:
Tumblr media
#i totally think this is why kawi stops pisaeng from kissing him in the past #their argument in the future might go along the lines of 'every time we've kissed you were drunk' or something like that #and kawi not wanting to make the same mistake again will only kiss p when they are both sober
This sent me spiraling so I'm hopping back on the meta train once more. Wanna come with? Stand clear of the closing doors. The next stop is...
Why did Pisaeng go AWOL?
Max tell us that Kawi knows/is the reason why Pisaeng goes off-grid, but we never get an exact answer. So here's my two-point theory.
Emotional Exhaustion
In the scene before the second drunk kiss, Pisaeng remarks that Kawi hasn't been free to hangout in last three years? Well, that got me thinking. During the last three years, has Kawi only gone to find Pisaeng when he's drunk and in need of comfort (and kisses)?
Being someone's "comfort zone" can be emotionally exhausting, especially when there is no reciprocity and the comfort-seeker is your longtime crush who is currently in a relationship with your childhood friend. Needless to say, the internal conflict and resulting emotional toll is strong in this one, which brings me to the second point.
Guilt
We know from the 8-year flashback scene (anniversary of Pisaeng's confession) and Pisaeng recalling the day Pear broke up with Kawi that he goes to their apartment often (he even has a key card) which is why this look between him and Pear gave me pause.
Tumblr media
Pisaeng's facial expression goes from slight shock to what looks like guilt when he realizes that Pear is leaving. On the other hand, Pear's body language (the way she releases and tightens her grip on the suitcase handle) tells us that she's angry but not surprised by Pisaeng showing up at this exact moment (the fact that she's standing between the two of them in this scene also says a lot).
Tumblr media
Then we see her facial expression. She is visibly angry but there's something else. She definitely knows about Pisaeng's feeling for Kawi and their more-than-friendship situationship (her knowing about Kwan and Not alludes to the fact that she's always aware of what goes on behind her back).
Tumblr media
And if that wasn't enough, when Pear leaves the apartment Pisaeng ends up being flanked by Kawi on all sides but is closer to a larger-than-life picture of Kawi while the real Kawi still remains (romantically) out of reach like he's been for the past twelve years.
It's no wonder our boy needed to get away. It no wonder he was feeling conflicted during that second kiss. It's no wonder that he will finally reach his limit and cut Kawi off?
Tumblr media
And as @sparklyeyedhimbo points out in their post, it's no wonder Kawi is so distraught when returns to the past and is determined to "set everything right" because he simply cannot bear the thought of losing Pisaeng again.
Is it next Friday yet?!!
