Jean-Luc Picard, Tasha Yar, Data Soong, Beverly Crusher, and Wesley Crusher When you Have a Panic Attack
Requested by anonymous, I hope you’re okay. I’m here if you need to talk or anything!
Jean-Luc Picard:
Tumblr media
He would be a bit surprised by your behavior, but immediately give you a break from your duties. He’d sit you down and try to get you to talk about how you were feeling. Once you told him what you needed, he’d help you through it with a reassuring hand on your shoulder.
Tasha Yar:
Tumblr media
Tasha was no stranger to panic attacks—she knew that little things could build up or bring back bad memories, and she told you so. She held you through the panic attack and rubbed your back soothingly, and encouraged you that you were safe and that you could make it through the panic attack.
Data Soong:
Tumblr media
He’d be a bit confused by your actions at first, but as soon as he realized what was happening he’d download a manual on how to help. He’d lead you in a grounding exercise, asking you what you see, hear, smell, and feel to get you more focused on your surroundings. Afterward, he’d check in with Dr. Crusher to make sure he did the right thing and would be prepared in the future.
Beverly Crusher:
Tumblr media
She recognized the signs of a panic attack immediately during one of your checkups. Immediately, she made sure she was acting calmly and told you she knew what was happening. She made sure you knew how to take care of yourself, asked you if you’d like some music on or if you wanted to talk about it. She mainly stayed quiet and let you work through your feelings.
Wesley Crusher:
Tumblr media
He’d be very worried for you and ask you lots of questions to make sure you had everything you needed. He’d give you a hug and sit with you, and he’d reassure you he didn’t think you were weak or silly for having a panic attack. After it was over, he’d talk to you about what caused it and help you figure out ways to prevent them and make sure he knew your triggers.

Tasha Yar x Gender neutral reader! 📺
{ Oh, cool!
If someone wants to send some Christmas memes, here I am!
This one was so sweet to write ~ }
Tumblr media
PROMPT: 📺 Our muses watch Christmas films together!
🎄 TASHA YAR 🎄
We cannot say Tasha has a big Christmas Spirit sinceshe has never celebrated it before. Then she does not believe in god and inthese things. Where was god when she needed him? When she ran away full of fearand terror through the obscure and scary streets of her planet? Why didn’t god helpher or comfort her? She does not believe in such evil god.
Since she is on the Enterprise, her spirit has changeda lot and, thanks to the Captain and all the wonderful people she met here, shehas gained some of that lost faith. Well, she still does not believe in god butshe now believes in people (a little more) and she is no more scared or wary asshe was before. She considers this ship as the family she never had and so evenher heart got soften. More or less.
You explain to her that Christmas is not only areligious celebration. You work here as a scientist and so, you don’t believein God and these irrational things but you still like celebrating it because it’sa chance to spend some beautiful time and relax with the people you love. Foryou, it’s more a social event than something spiritual.
Other than that, you care a lot about Tasha and youtruly want to spend this moment with her, you want to see Tasha serene and happy,at least at Christmas. She is always so austere and tough and you think she deservesa little peace of mind since she works so hard, she is so efficient andprofessional in her job but she never takes a break.
At first, when you propose to her your idea, which you wanther to take a break and spend Christmas with you and the other officers, she answersit’s a stupid thing and Christmas is even more stupid. People should be goodall the year and not only once year, Tasha says it’s hypocrite and uselessanyway. It’s not for her and she has more important things to do than wastingher time with such senseless and childish festivity.
Actually, you don’t believe a word she says and Tasha is just acting harshly as usual.
Somehow, her behaviours amuse you because she just doesnot want to admit she truly wants to spend some amazing time with her friendsand she keeps being stubborn but you know her heart. You know Tasha is a lovableand sweet person and, under her granite heart, there is a girl who wants to beloved and understood. She has spent so much time alone in the dark that she isnot get used to this new light, she is not alone anymore and she has to acceptthat there are so many people who love her. One of those people is you and, actually, she is glad you are so patient and gentle with her. Maybe she shouldtry to give a chance to this Christmas, just for you.
You propose to her to watch some Christmas movie andmaybe it can help to resurrect her dead Christmas spirit. Movies are great, itsounds like something vintage to her but it can be funny. A movie has neverkilled anybody.
Since you are a playful and ironic person, you choosea very particular movie, The Grinch. Of course, you don’t want to say she is aGrinch but maybe she should open her heart a little more.
Somehow, she finds the movie really amusing andinteresting and for the first time, you see her laughing like a little girl.
You can see that her heart melted and then sheunderstood the true meaning of Christmas. She understands it’s not only apretext to be good or receive gifts but it’s a state of mind, a precious momentshe can spend with the ones she loves, she can relax and think about herself withoutany worries. The past is gone and maybe she should not think about it all thetime. The present is now, she will lose so many wonderful things if she keepsthinking about the past and maybe she will lose the chance of being happy.
Tasha is flattered, she thanks you, she truly neededto be persuaded, and she feels lucky having someone like you by her side.
Even if she acts cold and distant sometimes, you don’tgive up and you stay. You are her sweet and gentle Cindy Lou. You made herunderstand the true meaning of Christmas and love.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season 1
An awesome friend surprised me a year ago by gifting me the complete BluRay series of Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG). Longtime readers of the blog will recall I spent most of 2014 going through and reviewing all of the Star Trek films once a month throughout the year. I can now look forward to analyzing each season of TNG right here! I may not be able to knock them out at my same rate as the movies since I only average watching about two episodes of TNG a week currently, but as I understand by the third season TNG gets pretty damn must-see, so maybe I will be cruising through the seasons at that point. As in previous TV season blogs, I will write these in a list style running down random highs and lows that popped out to me throughout the season. -TNG premiered in 1987 (trailer) via syndication and not dedicated to a single major network. This was unheard of for such a show. Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek and responsible for helming The Original Series and producing on the motion pictures was responsible for helping to create and produce TNG through its first few seasons. TNG focused on a new cast and crew of the iconic Enterprise vessel and takes place in 2364, just under a century after The Orginal Series started off.
-I am stoked to finally go into this overdue journey of watching every episode of TNG. Growing up as a 90s kid there always seemed to be reruns on cable of all the Star Trek shows. I was not a regular, weekly watcher, but with four different series out by the end of the 90s it became almost impossible not to stumble upon an episode channel surfing (remember that?). I absorbed roughly a dozen episodes of each series that way over the years. TNG seemed to resonate with me the most because of its iconic cast of characters, but I have also heard strong arguments for Deep Space Nine too. -I had a fun conversation with my dad last weekend filling him in on my TNG quest and asked him about his memories of the show. I was surprised to learn he said he still watches the show because the networks still air reruns of most of the series on at late night and he usually falls asleep to it. He gave me a few fun memories of his, and we both shared a laugh at how different Ryker was in the first season without his intimidating, vintage beard.
-TNG has a strong, diverse cast and because the cast was so huge I noticed that almost every episode one or two of the supporting characters were not there so more time can be focused on the rest of the cast. The two primary stars are Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) and First Officer Ryker (Jonathan Frakes) who are featured on every episode. Tasha Yars (Denise Crosby) is the badass security officer, Geordi (Levar Burton) and Data (Brent Spiner) are the two on-the-nose best friends helms-men of The Enterprise, Worf (Michael Dorn) is a battle-hardened Klingon whose advice consistently gets rejected, Dr. Crusher (Gates McFadden) seems to be a poor doctor as several patients pass away under her watch throughout this initial season and her son Wesley (Wil Wheaton) is not so affable either. The same can be said for Counselor Troi (Marina Sirtis). I had no recollection of Tasha or Wesley at all going into the series premiere since neither was in the movies I watched a few years ago. Troi is the only character I disliked throughout the first season. Her role as counselor and her psychic ability to ‘read feelings’ could not have been portrayed any worse since her ‘psychic readings’ was basic body language and context deductions that anyone should have been able to decipher. I am told her character is far less annoying in later seasons. Wesley is also a little bit of a buzzkill as the boy wonder Ensign on the bridge solving problems that the adults swiftly brush off, but I kind of get his role being there to resonate with younger viewers.
-There was no dedicated cast member as chief engineer for the first season and that role was randomly filled by several minor actors off and on throughout the season. One of the early chief engineers was Argyle (Bill Yeager). He was only a recurring character on two episodes for the first part of the season so I cracked up upon learning he started a letter writing campaign encouraged fans to write in of support to get him on the show more frequently. Naturally this lead to him instantly being booted off the show and being replaced with other chief engineers of the week until TNG settled on Geordi taking over that department from season two on. -I recall hearing several times over the years the first year or two of TNG is a rough watch, primarily because Gene Roddenberry had final say over the show in the early years and he was notorious for countless last minute rewrites that became an issue in production. Sure enough, this season was a slog to get through with half the episodes featuring baffling plots and questioning points of conflict to base an episode around. A prominent example is the crew fighting off an airborne contamination that turns the infected into the equivalent of bumbling drunks with a maxed out sex drive. There are several other mind-numbing episodes with just as eyebrow-raising plots that made season one a chore, but there were at least several fairly good-to-strong episodes this debut season too that helped counterbalance the bad just a wee-bit.
-Even though he was not in the movies, I was aware of the ‘omnipotent presence’ known as Q (John de Lancie) due to seeing a online play-thru of the videogame Star Trek: Borg where he was the quirky sidekick in a FMV PC game chastising you for every decision you make. I was delighted to see him in the same quirky role in the two episodes he was on in the first season. I am not going to even attempt to explain his role here, but came to discover I will see him in six more episodes for the rest of TNG as he attempts stump the TNG crew with more of his dastardly challenges. -TNG looks stunning in HD! Several years ago Paramount was able to re-master the entire series in HD because TNG was shot on 35mm film. For computer special effects they had to go in and painstakingly re-master all the individual CG effects by hand. It is well worth it because the show looks stunning now, and there are a couple extra features detailing all the hard work put in with the obligatory SD-HD comparison shots and it is amazing seeing the difference.
-Speaking of extras, saying there is a ton on here is an understatement. I tallied roughly three hours of extra features on the season one BluRay, among some are HD exclusives. The gag reel is uniquely compiled compared to countless others I have seen so do not gloss over that. There are also about eight other behind-the-scenes features and of those Launch and Continuing Mission get my top picks as thorough half hour deep dives on getting the show started and casted and highlighting its pivotal moments with archived and recent interviews from nearly the entire cast and crew. If you are into the aforementioned HD/SD upgrades to the show and how they pulled it off then definitely check out Energized: Taking TNG to the Next Level as it was a truly fascinating watch at Paramount’s remarkable job re-mastering TNG. -One unofficial extra feature that has been tremendously helpful for me is the podcast, Star Trek: The Next Conversation. Two writers from the sitcom, The Goldbergs host this show that dedicates each podcast to breaking down and analyzing every episode of TNG in chronological order. Both hosts are avid Trek fans, but one has never seen TNG before for some reason and it creates a great teacher/student dynamic to the show. They helped shed a lot of background information and filled in some gaps that I did not pick up on my initial watch. Minus the over-reliance on sound effect transitions, it wound up being the perfect supplementary material I consumed after every episode of TNG and if you ever decide to start watching through TNG from the beginning I give it the highest recommendation. -Even though there are a lot of dud episodes in the first season, by the last several episodes it seemed like the cast was starting to gel and the episodes were slowly-but-surely becoming more compelling to watch. There is a tear-jerker Tasha episode that has a great final scene from her, and an awesome season finale I was on board with where The Enterprise picks up several human frozen in cryogenics in the 20th century and thaws them out for amusing antics on deck. I hear the show starts to ramp up next season, and is at max warp speed by season three on. Even though this season was a doozy, I did not mind persevering through it to see the origins of the cast and how far they will evolve in the following seasons. S with Ghost Page by Red Vox with Tasha Yar (Star Trek TNG)!!!
Prompt: S: 🎵 Ghost Page by Red Vox
A/N: oh man this got sad :((
Tumblr media
Your heart gave a painful lurch in your chest as you stared down at the hologram. It was Tasha’s spitting image; the same brilliant smile, the same sky-blue eyes, and you smiled at the sight of her. It hadn’t been long since she’d given her life for the rest of the crew, and seeing her face again set off a flurry of grief, guilt, and gratitude within you.
“I miss you,” you murmured as the message played out.
You already knew it by heart. You had watched it several times over, just to see her face, hear her voice again. Even now, you told yourself you would just watch it one more time. Just one more time. Your finger hovered above the replay button for a brief second, then you couldn’t help but to press it again. Just one more time.

Helena by My Chemical Romance with Tasha Yar from Star Trek The Next Generation?
Requested by anonymous
Song: Helena by My Chemical Romance
Word Count: 530
A/N: i drew inspiration from The Naked Now but nothing explicit haha, I hope you like it!
Tumblr media
And what's the worst you take
From every heart you break
It was killing you, holding your feelings for Tasha inside. She didn’t remember. How could it be that you were the only one who remembered the way she looked at you, the way she kissed you, the way she touched you that night? It wasn’t fair. You were forced to relive the moment over and over again in your dreams, and Tasha didn’t have to worry about the consequences. You loved her. You could barely even look at her.
Whenever Tasha passed you in the corridor, you’d act like everything was normal. You’d give her a friendly smile. But the cruel, inescapable hope that she might love you the same way you loved her--that was killing you. You had to act like, for one night, you hadn’t had your fantasy come to life. And of course your closest confidant would notice the downturn in your mood.
“You’ve been acting weird lately,” Tasha told you.
“Weird how?”
“I don’t know. Just weird.” You shrugged, and Tasha blurted out, “I’m worried about you.”
You glanced back up at her, shocked. You couldn’t think of a single thing to say to that. Or, everything you wanted to say was wrong. You couldn’t just tell her you were happy to hear that or that you were worried about the two of you without sounding even weirder than she already thought you did. So you shrugged, and Tasha got a call from the bridge, and you were back to pretending everything had gone back to normal.
Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend to leave and then
We'll meet again
Finally, miraculously, you felt like you had a chance to talk with Tasha about how you felt. You were walking together on a lovely beachy planet somewhere far from earth, taking your time, basking in the setting sun’s rays and reveling in the feeling of sand beneath your feet.
“I had something I wanted to tell you,” you started before you could change your mind.
Tasha nodded, kept her eyes fixed on the horizon, and you were glad you didn’t have to say it while looking her in the eye.
“Do you remember that night when we were investigating another ship and then everyone started acting weird?” Tasha nodded her confirmation. “I remember what happened that night. Do you?”
Tasha opened her mouth. Closed it. Squinted out at the retreating tide like she was expecting the right words to come bobbing along on the current. Eventually, she rasped out, “yes.”
You were thrown. “You remember?” You laughed and ran a hand through your hair. “I thought I was the only one.”
She stopped walking. “You know what happened?”
“Yeah, I do,” you said incredulously.
Tasha ducked her head with a sigh. You weren’t sure if it was disappointed or relieved. You swallowed, trying not to wonder if you’d just fixed everything or ruined it for good. Just as you were about to speak, Tasha’s hand found yours and squeezed.
Well, if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight

These are the requests that I've gotten for the "characters that don't see the light of day" thing! If you sent in a request but don't see it here, that means your ask did not go through. Please resend it if that's the case! Ones that are crossed-out are those that I have written and posted.
