rewatching hyoutei vs rikkai and it’s oshigaku heaven:

gakuto recognising that yuushi isn’t cool/hasn’t shut off his emotions despite the fact that his face and voice are barely any different than usual lol 

oshitari leg fetish yuushi cool spraying gakuto’s ankle 

the fact that they both have the same Spot(tm) (a la golden pair’s shipping container, such a married couple thing)

gakuto reaching out to the grouchy new transfer student 

the moment when chibi yuushi falls in love 

yuushi putting aside his cool/strategic tennis for the sake of gakuto’s dream

(and you all know how i feel about the impulsive/emotional dreamer and the cool-headed partner who puts aside reason to spoil/indulge them combination)

yuushi/their combination literally boosting gakuto to new heights that he can’t reach alone 

the way he yells “gakutoooooooo” as if that isn’t the least collected, most heated/passionate we’ve ever heard/seen yuushi be in his entire life

and how gakuto just knows what to do, meaning they’ve either practised this before (unlikely?) or they’re basically on the same wavelength

the absolute faith they have in each other doing this manoeuver 

yuushi dropping his racket and running over to catch gakuto as he faints like something out of a romance movie 

the way he looks so concerned when gakuto falls but then relaxes/is relieved when gakuto opens his eyes and speaks 

yuushi doesn’t say “we won”, he says “you and i won” 

also bonus jabun feels:

marui and jackal always being the parents of their underclassman 

jackal gave up his spot playing doubles with marui for the sake of rikkai despite really wanting to play with bunta ;~~~; 

also think of how long he’s had to wait for this opportunity/how hard it must have been to give up considering everything that happened at U-17 camp!!

the way that they share the same values of being selfless (jackal giving up his doubles spot, marui giving jackal’s grip tape [the last token he had of his partner] to choutarou)

marui being angry at tamagawa for wasting jackal’s time and sacrifice 

he probably got his “just try to get in my way” philosophy from jackal covering for him while he was trying out his volley techniques in matches (◡‿◡✿)

which reminds me that marui only really lets himself be spoilt when it’s by jackal, i.e. jackal is the only person he trusts to cover for him (in and out of tennis, which is why he’s always foisting things off onto him lmao)

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 50!

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 133,410

3. What fandoms do you write for? MDZS, fairly exclusively right now. Aside from that: Cardcaptor Sakura is the fandom I first wrote fanfic for. I’ve written some X/TB, Tenipuri, Kamen Rider, some others. But to be honest, in most fandoms I don’t write much, if at all.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

And I will stay with you / And you will keep me close, which I just call the Sangcheng Roommates AU. This has stalled for reasons, but I do want to finish it. It’s a fun concept.

When a secret isn’t really secret, a Touya/Yuki fic! It’s actually just Yukito and Fujitaka talking about Yukito and Touya’s relationship, Touya is barely in it 😂

Heart-opening flow, my sangcheng yoga au, the first sangcheng fic I ever wrote.

The Half-Eaten Peach Longs to be Filled with Cream. Okay, I love this one. It’s sangcheng, and it’s porn.

Stay, also sangcheng. Modern au, first time they have sex. Technically it has the same rating as number 4, but it’s nowhere near as filthy.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, I try to, because while I write fic for me, the reason I share it is in the hope of getting to have conversations with others that like the characters and ship as much as I do.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I mean, I don’t really do angst, but I suppose Yaguruma’s Hell because it’s Yaguruma thinking about how he’ll take Kageyama away and they’ll be together, and that’s just before, well. Spoilers for Yaguruma and Kageyama’s story in Kamen Rider Kabuto. It doesn’t actually go into the ending, it relies on you knowing what happens.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I really don’t know. I mostly write fluff, and most of them have happy endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics? I never have. I feel like mostly you don’t get hate if you don’t write for particularly popular ships in popular fandoms. Although, if I’d gotten into MDZS just 6 months or so earlier, I might have gotten hate by the infamous troll that went around harassing sangcheng fans.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Sure do! And well… I suppose you could say I often write FLUFFY smut, because it’s about characters that have strong feelings about each other, but I’d also like to think I write fairly dirty smutty (but not particularly kinky). Probably the best example of what I mean is Hold the doors, which is a nielan fic about Lan Xichen giving his neighbor that he just met, Nie Mingjue, a blowjob. It has been described as both filthy and soft.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Nope, not my thing, as a writer or reader.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Also nope.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Probably Touya/Yukito, because it’s about than the ship itself for me at this point. They’re what got me into CLAMP, and also what got me into shipping, and I made a fansite for them that was the first site I made of any kind and that is still online. They’re the reason I learned to code.

Or sangcheng. It maybe recency bias, but they've certainly gotten me to produce more fic than any other ship.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Isolated Incidents, a fic about Touya and Yukito kissing. It would have been fine if I had just made it a one shot about their first kiss, but instead I decided that it would have MORE, and that I'd explore the evolution of their relationship through different kisses. It was a good idea at the time, I'd just gotten actively back into CLAMP fandom, had recoded the Touya/Yukito shrine in modern HTML and CSS, and was rewatching Cardcaptor Sakura and writting short little fics for them again. But then December 2020 came, and I decided to read MDZS... and that pretty much took over my fandom life. There's MDZS fics I haven't worked on in quite a while, but since I'm still actively in this fandom, they aren't in "probably won't finish" territory.

16. What are your writing strengths? I think I write amusing stories, and I’m not embarrassed to write smut. Also, I think I tend to have fairly defined voices for characters.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Consistency in the sense of sticking with writing a thing. Actual plot. Those go hand in hand. It’s very hard for me to write long fics for those reasons. I often have IDEAS for fics I really like, and I might sort of… loosely plot them out, but in no way enough to actually write most of them.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Unless you actually KNOW something of the language, just avoid it. You’ll probably make a fool of yourself otherwise.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Cardcaptor Sakura, Touya/Yukito.

20. Favorite fic you've written? I don’t have a favorite. Unsatisfying, I know.

it's interesting to watch them trace the start of the friendship~~ Tkr recognized Yuu (and Shohei i think?) from ikemen magz at that time, when there were lots of magz with Yuu on cover, also at that time there were ikemen hype, like IkePara, and TeniPuri stageplay (or musical i forgot 🙈), and Yuu was one of the most popular 😂

While Yuu don't really change since then, Tkr becomes more shou-ene (has little energy) time after time 😂 But actually, when they first met, Tkr adjusted to Yuu's mood at that time. So maybe since they got along, Tkr can be himself more 🥺

Yu: Taka said once that he can't be married until all the members in the band aren't married. But now that all of them are done it, he could done it anytime 😂

But one opinion is that marriage is impossible for all three of them (except Shohei who is already married) Takeru said he feels like Yu can do it too... But for them (Taka, Takeru) it's impossible 😂 (me: 👀)

Takeru said that normal/ordinary happiness is the most important thing and that he and Taka "can't find normal/ordinary happiness."

Taka uses lots of emoji Tkr doesn't use emoji at all, but he will hide his kindness somewhere in the messages (like, suddenly, 'how bout you Takapin?'). And will get very kind once they talk one-on-one.

Shohei: I’m thinking of shooting a drama and upload on youtube. With Takeru as producer, Yuu as director and me and TAKA as actor. TAKA can do it definitely.

Shohei to Taka (abt the musical): then just go together (with Tkr), as a husband and wife

Yuu will get very nervous when he knows Tkr is watching him XDD But that's bcos he knows that Tkr will analyze and judge things strictly, his standard is high but he will strictly tell which is good/bad. That's why Yuu is kinda reluctant to directly tell him that it's interesting

They're talking abt Tkr has the quality to be a person behind the scenes (prod/dir), but he said that it's bcos they know how to work (as actors/musicians), they should try to produce things. And yes Yuu is actually doing that, by creating a musical that he wants to create

Also Tkr said that the best condition is a person who can act AND direct, bcos he knows the feelings of the actors, so it won't be just one way from the director.

According to Taka, Tkr has almost never missed OOR's concerts 😳 And at one time, he came to their meeting, just sat there like a director, with a pen and setlist in front of him. Tkr said that someday he wants to produce OOR's con and YES i really want to see that happen 🔥🔥

2023 fandom rambling

2023 was really the year of going back to my roots aka my 2000s favs. been rereading KHR, DGM, 666 Satan, Psyren, DOGS, rewatched ParaKiss, replayed Zero Escape VLR and at the tail end of it I'm back into TeniPuri. I didn't draw a lot for them in 2023 but I sure was reading lol.

gonna try to bring all my old cosplays back in 2024 cus wtf.

I mean I'm already working on TYL!Bel cus I made his teen version in the late 2000s - early 2010s, it only feels fitting. I also made a TYL version at the time but we don't talk about that nightmare. It was so bad lmfao.

And Lavi was my first-ever cosplay back in 2008. It's funny as fuck that I met my first girlfriend because we were both cosplaying him at the same con and we collected every version of him, we even had the Deak version. I only knew one of the other Lavi-cosplayers beforehand cus of a mutual on LJ. It was a blast.

Finally FINALLY cosplayed from 666 Satan in 2023 with my friend Ren. Only been planning on doing so since the late 2000s. It felt so exciting to finally do it. Cross and Jio were finally done, even if my boot zipper decided to fucking BREAK right when I needed it lmao. The timing was so awful, god damn. Already at the con and everything. Learning how to make Cross' wings was a trip.

I found my old Heine jacket from when me, Ren and my gf at the time (aforementioned fellow Lavi cosplayer) cosplayed Heine, Badou and Naoto. It was crumbling. Faux leather doesn't hold as well, does it? In 2023 me and twin got to tear up grampa's old red leather couch though and you know what that means? I'm gonna try to remake Heine's jacket in 2024 using real leather taken from that old couch. The back was still smooth and completely useable. And with how many seams are in that jacket the pieces don't need to be big.

As for Tenipuri the wig I had for Shiraishi was terrible, you remember early 2000's ebay wigs and how THICK they were. I had a Sengoku wig but I gave it away to a friend who needed a last minute wig for Yata from Psycho-Pass (I'm pretty sure) cus my head looked gigantic in it cus of how thick it was, and Yata wears a beanie so it wasn't as noticeable lol. I still have like 5 different Bunta wigs oops. Cus none were 100% what I wanted until the last one.

As I mentioned. Early 2000s ebay wigs. Quality shit.

Summer 2024 I'm planning on cosplaying Clover from Zero Escape. I am so fucking psyched. For once I'm not gonna be melting cus of a sweaty cosplay (like the time me and Ren cosplayed Bel and Squalo at a summer convention, sweating dying will bullets (though at least Bel's jacket is open lmao, win for me) and dying cus it was so mindnumbingly hot). I mean, the woman doesn't wear a whole lot of clothes in VLR. Been a while since I've worn such a revealing cosplay.

I of course did a lot of SB69 stuff and some Mars Red and miscellanious which is more recent but consumptionwise I was placed quite firmly in the stuff I loved so dearly in the 2000s.

Happy new year to me, apparently it's somehow 2010 again!

Episode 22 Rewatch

I forgot that Kamio Akira canonically runs fast enough to keep up with a bicycle for an extended distance, holy shit.

Not only that, but he’s still able to talk while running at this pace...

For reference - my best guess is that Momo is going, say, 15-20 mph on the bike. On foot, an adult man could sprint at 15+ mph but not for that long. (When he and Momo finally do stop, Kamio isn’t even sweaty or out of breath, lol.)

Two other things from this episode -

- Kaidoh may intimidate other students into tears without saying a word, but he gets visibly flustered by adults saying he’s a “fine young man” and a “cute kid,” aw.

- Hyoutei is already here! I don’t think they’re going to commit to this level of sleaze for Atobe, though. Iirc they walk it back pretty quickly into more of an over-the-top arrogance.

So, yesterday night I finished the World Cup first 13 episodes. Tbh I was not that hyped for that last match, but it was okay, it was TeniPuri over the top again lol, and the characters looked funny again.

I’m still sure some or a lot of things were removed on the anime but they may do it like extras (god I hope they add them) like last time

But it was a good arc, it made me feel like a teenager watching her favorite spokon again
