Harsh winds blew past your face, causing your nose to burn. This had to be the roughest winter in Gotham’s history. You'd just barely made it to the apartment door, and began clumsily fumbling for your ice-cold keys. your purse snapped open, releasing all your belongings with pop.

“Fuuuuck me.”

A shivering arm reached down for the belongings, scooping them up into frozen hands.

You stuffed them back in your purse and once again fumbled for your keys. Another gust of wind blew aggressively while burning your face, causing curses to fall out of your mouth.

After many vain attempts, you finally managed to get the key into the lock while the coldness burned at your fingertips. click!

“Fina-fucking-lly.”

You swung the door open, throwing yourself inside and shutting the door. You leaned back on the door, trying desperately to alleviate your frozen fingers. The only thing that could make your day worse was the fact you knew Jason would usually be on patrol tonight, and wouldn't be here to warm you up.

You untied your snow boots, and hung your jacket up reluctantly. The apartment was actually warmer than you expected. Jason must've accidently left the heater on when you left.

You opened the door to your room, and found him lying on his stomach with a pillow over his head.

“About time, baby.” His groggy voice sent butterflies to your stomach.

A relieved smile crept on your lips and you practically leaped on the bed. “You're home? Hours early?” Jason turned over onto his back, with his hands tucked behind his head. “Ya don't seem too happy, i'm just taking a little day off ” he teased, poking at your cheek. “I'm more than happy, but what happened to ‘crime has no days off’?” You questioned, changing into a shirt and sweats. “I could go now if you want me to.” You rolled your eyes at him, picking up a pillow and playfully smothering him with it.

“Asshole.”

“C'mere,” he motioned, holding his arms out for you. You sighed contently, climbing into his open arms, and feeling the warmth of his hands clasped around your back.

You dug your nose into his neck, inhaling his musky scent and familiar body wash. “Smells so good.” He let out a breathy laugh and rubbed up and down your back.

His hands moved up to your hair, stroking it softly, then down to your cheek, making you lift your head up slightly. He took this opportunity to press his lips to yours, humming.

“I missed you.”

You smiled, leaning back to kiss him, but he had other plans. He flipped you over so your back was pressed into the mattress and he was laying on you partially. He snuggled his head into your warm chest, wrapping his strong arms around your waist.

“Hmm..this is…better,” he hummed. You grinned, surprised at his clinginess. You hugged your arms around his head and ruffled his hair a bit.

Your heart raced, and you were sure he could feel it, feeling him smile against your chest.

hhh designing colourzas in the year of out lord 2024 and i have sO MUCH to say about them,, spent the last few days assigning each of them a wingless + winged animal and ended up with this (also! the not underlined animals are the ones not explicitly used in their designs)

ill put my notes about them all under the cut because theres a lot but the big ones are:

- blueza and redza twin propaganda cos theyre the only hooved animals here

- grayzas winged bird is the only flightless one because i thought that would be funny, also the name is just so ominous for no reason which i also thought would be funny

-yellowza is so difficult to find animals for but i settled on peacock pansy butterfly because peacocks are fancy n stuff and hes fancy n stuff, but peacocks are purple, so the yellow bug equivalent is the best i can do for him. I have yet to decide on a winged animal for him lol..also hes sucha bug to me, ik hes canonically a bird but hes such a bug. however if he was a bird he would be a birds of paradise bird, absolutely, no questions asked

anyway heres more notes i wrote down a few days ago

—Redza is the only bat because he’s the first one who existed i think. also because his vibes match bats and nobody else matches bats but i gotta make it Lore. also he’s one of the only two hoofed+wingless animals, along with blueza, because redza blueza twin propaganda..and hes an ibex instead of anything else because i think the long, straight horns suit him better than others. there was also like. the addax, eland, oryx, ect but i decided goat > antelope because goats are smaller and more gremliny + association with the devil or somthin?? also he gets a funny little goatee

—Orangeza is a red fox bcos fox = cunning n smart idk….and that species because of its orange fur, pretty simple not given much thought but thats okay, it matches him pretty well i think. also i hc that one of his front moth wings (the brown ones, they cover the orange wings) got damaged so he patched it up with orange something because more orange and haha inventor guy fixes things you know. its okay i don’t either

-Yellowza was gonna be a longhorn beetle but they’re too orange. then a bumblebee but he’s not. he’s not a bee. but i finally settled on peacock pansy because peacocks are like. fancy n shit but he cant be a peacock because they’re purple, so yellow butterfly version is the next best thing. ALSO ik hes like canonically a bird and stuff,but MAN. HES JUST A BUG TO ME. but if he was a bird he would absolutely be a birds of paradise bird because Yes. honorable mention to the great tailed grackle.

his wingless animal was a STRUGGLE and i have yet to pick it hahaskmb….also i characterize him as a material girl instead of cheery optimist because there are enough cheery optimists 

—Blueza was the easiest to decide lmao, he’s just a deer. either that or a moose, but deer are more gentle also thats like canon so yeah..white tailed deer 🦌 oh holy shit deer emojiand redza blueza twin propaganda, he’s one of the only two hoofed wingless animals here yesyes

his winged animal had to be a bird, preferable a dove because symbolism and whatnot right? he got mourning dove because fluffy lad + theres no white doves in the wild so i cant make him a white dove. probably going to draw him with whiter wings though to match his colour pallet haha, i dunno i haven’t really given him much thought

—it was so difficult to decide if Purpleza was a bird or a bug but i ended up with bird, because he’s a fluffy guy not a bug guy? and then choosing a bird was pain because theres so many pretty purple birds i really like but he’s more of a black bird, emo ass mfer

couldn’t make him a crow, raven felt off, considered grackles bcos they have purple wing shine whatever its called but they’re too social skdhdkfgngcn..solitary caciques had a good chance because they’re black birds that are very antisocial, literally purpleza. BUT I eventually decided on purple honeycreeper because they’re dark purple with black wings, and hang out in small groups with other species of birds, i think that speaks for itself.

-might change the wingless animal of Pinkza idk axolotl feels too easy? but the only other guys i have are like. naked mole rat and pink dolphin and i cant implement those in a way that makes sense in my head LOL

and he’s a butterfly right, the pink rose butterfly really suits him i think but not his light color pallet. the other pink butterflies don’t suit him really, and the pink moths all have yellow which no. but then i found the pink orchid mantis. who is so soft and gentle looking, but uses its soft and pretty appearance to kill. so yknow the second i saw it i was like yup. pinkza

—Grayza (greyza?? i forgot sob) is the only flightless colorza, i thought it would be funny cos he’s this eldritch horror but he’s the only land bound one haha, also ayem cemani is death omen chicken in my head. and for his flightless animal, he’s a snake he’s very much a snake what do you want from me he’s just a snake

Haha yep! Laxus isn't having unchecked dragon hormonal rage on top of daddy issues on top of power fantasies born of listlessness and expectations soooooo no Battle of Fairy Tail arc lol. He and the Thunder Legion befriended each other earlier on too so they got a more normal experience and not the toxic tryhard one. Yay! Positive butterfly effects!

In htryds it's just gonna be a oneshot (as of now at least) of a normal Fantasia celebration. Now, just because Laxus isn't a problem child doesn't mean he wants to participate in the social activities. Good thing he's not the only anti-social mfer in Fairy Tail, though, as few as there are. Heya!

Just wanted to vent to someone since we all love fiends here, but I have a wip that takes place in an au and one of the scenes I came up with got me thinking. Why do these mfers (devils, demons, gods, etc) look down on mortals? Mortals are basically the backbone of it all. They have the souls every faction wants, and almost all the gods were mortal once (with a few exceptions like maybe Jergal but he's said to resemble an ancient race so maybe he was mortal once, too) plus the demons, devils, angels were mortal once too. It feels like that old caterpillar butterfly story where no one likes the ugly caterpillar until it turns into a pretty butterfly.

It also sucks because mortals are kind of sucked into the cosmic war of chaos-law-good-evil bs.

i don't think either of them are that afraid of bugs like henry's not a fan of them i think he'd squash them or use the cup & paper method. if the bug was like really big or one of those giant millipedes with a billion legs or something THEN he'd be freaked out. william just picks them up with his bare hands and chucks them out the window he's not scared of bugs (australia moment) unless they're GIGANTIC (or poisonous or venomous or can't be chucked out a window)

they're both able to drive a car but henry's better at driving than will is. will drives like an absolute madman he has so many speeding tickets it's amazing that he hasn't been banned from driving altogether. so if they're driving together henry takes the wheel and will's stuck in the passenger seat because henry doesn't trust will's driving skills

9. Can't cook for shit / Makes dinner

they can both cook pretty well but henry is the better cook. will LOVES his cooking

Cw: blood mention, accidental cut

I cut my finger with my BRAND NEW rotary cutter in sewing class today by accident (I slipped and pushed too far and my hand steadying the fabric was too close) and I washed and bandaged it and then when I got home took off the bandaid to shower. And then after I got dressed and before I put on a new bandaid I accidentally dropped my phone and in the process bumped the cut which had stopped bleeding but then it started bleeding all over again. 😭

So I cleaned it again and butterfly bandaged and regular bandaged it and I hope I just knocked the scab when I bumped it again and it will stop bleeding again with the band-aid pressure like it did earlier.

I am PRETTY SURE it doesn't need stitches bc it's not that deep, I just kinda got it at a diagonal and on the side of my finger so it hurts like a mfer and the blood briefly looked like a lot bc it ran along my nail bed.

But if it does need anything extra it had better keep until my ALREADY SCHEDULED dr's appt tomorrow at 4 pm. Like I'm pretty sure it will be fine? It was a brand new never before used blade and the cut looked like a clean slice it just huuuurty. 😔😔😔

Just to be clear: when/if I ever speak about Miquella being an adult in a child's body, it's for horror purposes. Not for shipping. I'm adamant about it because Miquella canonically used his look of childlike innocence to manipulate people and that is personally fucking terrifying to me, since children already creep me out enough on the regular. That plus him having a butterfly-like lifecycle where he remains a child until he pupates into his true form makes for some really juicy horror possibilities, the LAST thing that should be coming out of that argument is 'oh bc he's mentally an adult means its okay to ship him' when it is NOT and the mfer doesn't even have the hormone swings necessary to make that a thing in the first place.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh just off the top of my head we just finished stacking haybales from the recent harvest and we use not one, not two, but THREE different machines for the process of cutting, baling, and stacking the hay once its grown. a swather (tractor-looking mfer w blades on the front) cuts the field and leaves behind a big long pile of cut hay that we leave out to dry for a few days (there's a running joke among the farming community that if it's been raining a lot lately then u know that the hay has just been cut because it needs to be dry to be baled and god consistently likes to make farmers' lives difficult) and then u get a baler (funky little guy thats pulled behind one of our big tractors like a trailer) that basically gathers up the piles of dry hay and packs it together into a neat lil stack and ties it off with twine, and THEN we get the stackwagon (tractor looking mfer) that drives up and down the field to pick up the haybales and stack them up into the big tall haystacks in the stackyard for as to use later <3

and I'm too lazy to get pics rn but the ghost nebula is my wife......pillars of creation.......butterfly nebula..........et cetera.....<- forgot every other nebulae that has ever existed
