The whole astarion/durge thing makes me so mad because you'll also get people saying it was just because he had more parallels with durge's story than the others or something which is. Simply not true, I think you could draw brilliant connections with all of them. Especially Shadowheart like not being able to have convos about pasts with evil cults or even idk amnesia struggles is insane to me. It's right there😭

it's not only a) wrong because we know that at least part of the reason this happened is because ast*rion was prioritised by larian, with the lead narrative designer admitting as much.

which, to be quite frank with you, is another can of worms considering the context here. they were part of a fan discord as a big fan of the character they ultimately ended up prioritising so before being hired by larian - making some truly questionable (in hindsight) remarks there, too.

and b) you could literally find parallels between any and all of the character if you truly wanted to. they are all connected to some degree. a fight for autonomy, themes of abuse and escaping said abuse, of finding themselves, etc.

Ahhh sorry! I should have made myself more clear. I got lost in the salty rambling XD what I trying to ask was, do you think that it’s a vaild reason to not like Sakura? Yes, I know I just just made the argument that teens aren’t smart and they’d do stupid things, but I also know that excuse isn’t an excuse for hurting someone else.

I think the only part that I really did get mad at Sakura for was the whole telling Naruto she loved him scene. Good intentions, yes. But she should have been just honest with Naruto instead of walking away and ending up dragging everyone else into the mess that was the confrontation on the bridge.

I think it's a valid reason, basically because everyone is free to hate whatever character they want... But I usually just ignore or block those people, and after Sakura's position in the popularity poll I started to wonder if there really are that many Sakura haters or I'm just really lucky to rarely ever see any at this point~

That goes for Sasuke and Hinata haters too. I come online to have a good time with fandoms, I'm too old for these kind of debates.

I'm gonna even share the very unpopular opinion that the fake declaration was actually a good thing. It was a mistake and a good one, it fit the plot and the characters' involved, and it build a lot of expectation back when I read it! It's obvious to me why people dislike it, but I personally never thought it was that bad.
