Reason why I watch it: media experience of all time... NOTHINGGG could beat the excitement of a clip dropping randomly or a crucial IG post. especially watching og s4 live, my first live season, or Austin 1+2 while living in tx... enormous.

Why I started watching it: was going to say bc of bestie @perestr0ika but we didn't even know each other yet! crazy! so just when isak and even were all over tumblr ig, and I did do the thing of watching their season first and then going back.

Favourite character: Betty. ok so for all three of these my fav is a blonde woman and here's why: they make me crazyinsane

Best-looking character: madchen amich I would do anything. also skeet ulrich. and Betty in those coveralls...

Least favourite character: for a long time it was jughead but I've finally come around. I hated Betty's fbi boyfriend 😑

Reason why I watch it: worlds best television show

Why I started watching it: I was there from the jump actually, watched the pilot the week it came out, I think just bc it was getting lots of hype. it was ironic for a bit but I was genuinely enjoying it pretty early on

i just stayed up literally the entire night watching the wilds s2 and can i just say. a) sorry to the people who were mad about the inclusion of a #boysquad but personally i loved it the girlies simply were not beating each other up and playing sports about it and i feel that's an imperative part of any tv show thank you #men. b) i need more shelbtin team ups let's go hot girl nation. but also is [redacted] [redacted] now? like is that what i was supposed to take from the finale. if so. NOT pleased. c) sooo looking forward to seeing how the boys and girls commingle like i am obsessed with how those splinter groups might form. and if i can throw a hat in the ring: i need. so desperately. kirin shelby fatin and ivan to spend 4 on 4 time. i think that would be sooooo. like people will die. also henry toni dot. i have more combos in a tier list.

I finished! Okay, so. What did I think? What did we all think?

The first 4 episodes were dragging for me. But it really picked up somewhere around episode 6 and I liked how it went from there. True to IT fashion, it was not over-dramatized (which we love), and full of realistic problems and solutions (gee, who would have thought to talk to a therapist about your problems (Not me but thats my own issue)).

More thoughts under the cut...

things to discuss:

- Elia’s relationship with everyone but specifically Luchino and Federica was beautiful to see. Fede got a big upgrade this season which I appreciated (also she looked great, can we just acknowledge? the short hair works for her)

- I loved that Elia’s friend group at school was all girls. And that one guy who we frankly didn’t see enough of.

- Elia crying in the bathroom? We’ve all been there, bby

- I wish they’d dived a bit deeper into the issues with the dad since it seems like he does care about the mom and Elia, but typical boys refuse to talk to each other

- Elia and Filo roommates, yes please! Would have liked more - some heart to hearts on the couch, but we did get at least one over laundry

- Glad Nico and Marti were living there best life in the background. Literally the only thing this season needed to be good.

- If we do get a 6th season, I suspect it will be about Asia, who grew on me after a while. I would also not be opposed to learning more about Elia’s desk buddy.

- It was not a perfect season - the first couple episodes really lacked in action or explanation, but I’ll give them a pass.

- Well, Spera is an ass.

- But we got to see Boccia! Who is gratefully unproblematic - just chillin’ off screen with his boyfriend and living his best life

- Love that Elia apologized to Fede for calling her fat for years, glad to see him grow as a person

- Luca deserves the world (except when he sends unsolicited dick pics. Stop it, kid. I think he learned his lesson.)

- I do wish we’d gotten just more of the boysquad. Gio was a little MIA, and is he even still with Eva? A single line or kiss would have sufficed.

Overall, better than I expected. Would watch a 6th season if they decide to do one, so we’ll see!

You've got to smirk through druck's illogical decision to dissolve the strength of certain friendships in favor of showing this forced merger of the friendship groups (minus Constantin hahah). What a waste. But since this is the direction they have chosen, I can be pushed into believing that Sascha, who had shown all signs of being a loner, was welcomed and easily relaxed into Isi's circle once Constantin was pushed further back. To me the major oddity of this Friday night group is Lou. She is older and she dropped out of school after being there for about 10 short weeks - that was months ago. She was shown to be closest to Isi and constantin while at school, but it didn't seem like she formed any "deep" connections beyond those two. I don't believe Lou ,rebel without a cause, would choose to spend her Friday night in a room (mostly) full of old acquaintances? Especially since Constantin, who she implied she was having a thing with, is not there

As much as I love the new gen, the writer’s decision to make everyone friends (except for constantin) will forever be cheap in my eyes. The og gen worked partly because i could actually buy into all of these people’s relationships, even when we had not witnessed the start of it. Because they had inside jokes, a particular dynamic, and because sometimes they didn’t like each other. If you’re aiming for realism while portraying teenagers (or people in general, actually), you have to understand that relationships are weird to navigate, often ambiguous and that it’s not as easy as it seems to please everyone and be integrated. Because people are not one-dimensional.

The best example of it for me is the OG boysquad. We never really met Abdi nor Carlos before season 3, yet the squad dynamic was already believable by the first clip of season 3 because they had that certain thing: jokes of their own, teasing, distinctive personalities which led to different roles and dynamics inside the friend groupe, etc… But most of all, they were shown to have standards concerning who they were willing to hang out with in the closed social circle of the school: they were mean towards girls in the way teenage boys often are, dismissive of their girlfriends’ feelings, often mean to Kiki, Leonie, Alexander or Sara. And THAT is also why it worked. Because in order to make me believe there’s friendship between a group of people, you also have to show me their unique bond and who they’re not friends with.

Hence why I don’t buy in any of the new gens relationships, apart from the couples (who have been developed one-on-one, and thus given more depth) and the Fatou-Ava relationship where you can sense a real chemistry and unique bond. So that’s why it made me tick to see Sascha being apparently super close to everyone on insta… because he’s a whole ufo there, he has not been shown to have any relationship with anyone apart from Isi, and I just can’t buy into it.

Fixing og skam. Esseantially i would make them talk to each other and complerly change other. This is either no romance or just fix it. It annoys so much when there is the mandatory romance when the season would work better without it

S1: i actually dont know, il think of something. Eva is bi. Mayby make William less "cool". Nitpick but Noora finding that stuff on isaks phone is unrealistic. Closeted gays are careful, source me.

S2: No NooraxWilliam unless it would be completly remade. NOOREVA

S3: No Evak or make it different. No Sonja or i forgot her name. Generally i really would have enjoyed if it was about Isaks life rather than romance. More parent scenes or stuff like that. Him interracting with the housemates and boysquad hijinks.

S4: i dont think im qualified to fix this. Rest of the qirlsquad being better.

broerrrs are so having a fallout this season. jens has continuously been passing shitty comments about moyo, robbe wasn't tagged yesterday and from his comment under jens' post, he wasn't expecting it either.

and honestly these boys do need something to shake them to their fucking core so they realise how much they need to start giving a fuck and doing better towards their friends.
