Hi! I was curious to know if you knew anything about the spawn rates for the wandering Dancer Girl NPCs in Classic! I think across my 6 playthroughs of the game I've literally only seen them twice, and both times they were running from something. Do they just have a really low spawn window like the dogs do?

(wistful sigh) kedves anon I've been wondering this for my whole pathologic career... I have a very small excel sheet of times that people have reported seeing them, those being day 9 at 1:13 and 1:19 AM and day 11 at 4:20 AM, all in the bachelor route afaik. it's general consensus that they only spawn in the Earth district, and reports suggest that they spawn at night or possibly early morning... I'm tracking this because dancer girls are coded to have fascinating dialogue on day 1 and I'm not sure if it's accessible/"canon" b/c the game starts at 6am and if it is early morning-locked there would never be a spawning window.

I just looked at the world_danko script to try to confirm that, because spawning routines take up a big chunk of it - the game does comparisons on the conditions for every NPC that can spawn, in order, to decide what it makes every time there's a spawn event, but what causes a "spawn something" event to occur is unbeknownst to me. however I did locate checks that are run for dancer girls - it looks like the timing conditions are that they can appear between 22:00 and 5:00! great news for me! there's one more check that checks that something is less than or equal to 3, and I strongly suspect this refers to the region. each district/region has a numeric ID, which in this case would be in Earth, but not all of Earth: the Works (1), the Tanners (2), and the Hindquarters (3). which tracks with the two locations I had in my spreadsheet (south of the Rod and south of the Abattoir)! the same conditions apply in the haruspex and changeling's world states. thank you so much for sending this ask I wouldn't have gotten around to looking at this otherwise 😅 we've just broken new & beautiful ground in the field of human vitality

Now that his hips aren’t sore and he’s semi-accepting of the left rein, I decided to apply it to his canter work. He over-bends quite a lot to the inside when cantering to the right, and it can make things a bit funny. So I tried being really active about keeping him straighter through the head and neck, keeping him on the outside left rein, and not relying on the inside rein. Turning is still a bit tricky right now (that’s always been his m.o. this direction, but it’ll get better), but he definitely got lighter/more uphill and sat deeper on his haunches! That’s harder to do, so he breaks more easily, but again - it’ll get better with persistence and strength. By the end of the ride, I found myself almost leaning back in the saddle, and I realized it was because his free walk was so much more uphill!
