Mysaria's child welfare activism would make more sense if the writers ALLOWED her to have her pregnancy and miscarriage of a royal baby because of the Daemon/Viserys feud. Thus her going back to her lowborn roots, caring for lowborn children exploited by the Targaryens.
This also better explains her willingness to hire B&C to get highborn innocent children murdered. Having her business burned down by a rival is just not as powerful a reason. There's deeper, veiled layers of revenge when it comes to her feeling oppressed personally by the Targaryens to the point of miscarrying her own child, and her attachment to Daemon still, due to their past bond would be the intrigue of it all. Because she's still obeying him in a way, even while appearing to despise Targaryen rule over the smallfolk in general.

Hotd, episode 9 "the green council"
So many thoughts
First of all I had chills the entire episode. As team black I went in fully expecting to hate it and boy was I wrong. This episode is a masterpiece.
- How many people exactly is Crispin allowed to kill before he suffers consequences?
- Lord Commander Harrold Westerling showing us what true honor is. And honestly, he might as well have removed his cloak, nobody respects his authority, they allowed his knight to draw a sword on him. They don't deserve him.
-I can't believe I'm about to say this, and it is the last time I ever will, but they should have given Aegon what he wanted. Man wanted to disappear, let him. "I'm not suited" if anything, he's self aware.
- Crispin's "women are the image of mother and should be spoken of with reverence" like he wasn't calling Rhaenyra a cunt like 3 weeks ago is peak comedy.
- I did not expect Aemond to explicitly admit he wanted to the crown, and I wonder what kind of king he would have been. Also, this is for me the big difference between team green and team black. Team black love each other unconditionally and fully support one another even behind closed doors. Team Green barely like each other.
- Did Princess Rhaenys just serve us the best line of this entire season "you wish not to be free but to build a window in your prison". Rhaenys just called Alicent a pick me, and I stan.
- I was wrong, the best line goes to Mysaria with "there is no power but what the people allow you to take".
- Ser Erryk said "nope, imma sit this one out, not worth my sweat" and I respect that.
-Alicent finally standing up to her father is slightly satisfying, but it's too little too late, barely registers.
- Aegon being given Blackfyre to carry when he can't even swing a sword is such a waste.
- Larys having a foot fetish is not even 1% surprising.
- "do you love me?" "you imbecile" is the funniest line of this episode.
- Helaena hiding her face in Aemond's shoulder after Aegon was crowned does things to me. Aemond seems to be the only she's comforted by. And the fear in her face when Aegon looked at her, she knows what kind of king he will be.
- speaking of, Alicent, if you wanted your son not to rule with cruelty, you should have taught him that years ago. Slapping him and telling him again and again that he is a challenge simply by breathing and existing. And then expecting him to let his challenger keep breathing? Of course he's not gonna let Rhaenyra live.
- Rhaenys escaping on Meleys wearing full armor was so powerful and satisfying, and Meleys is so beautiful and Rhaenys's armor fitting Meleys's colors, I just love them both so much. But besides the visuals and the bad bitch moment, I'm not actually sure how I feel about this scene, because Rhaenys could have stopped the entire dance with one fire breath. One Dracarys and team black would have been safe. There were no children there, only traitors. She could have taken out all of team green and ended the dance before it began.
- Ewan Mitchell is getting a lot of (well deserved) praise for his portrayal of Aemond. But I would like to take a moment to praise Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon. He managed to bring a depth and dimension to such a disgusting and icky character and the shift in his eyes when people started cheering for him. The despair when he was begging Aemond to let him disappear. The insecurity when he asked Alicent if she loved him. He played him marvelously.
- Olivia Cooke proved once again how good of an actress she is. Zero notes, 10/10. The resignated disgust during the scene with Larys. The conflict when they discussed murdering Rhaenyra. The fear when Meleys threatened her children. Impeccable.
- Finally, give Ramin Djawadi all of the awards, all of them. My expectations for the soundtrack were already so high after game of thrones, and he still exceeded them.
I will be back with more thoughts when I'm done processing

I know Sonoya Mizuno is a good portrayal of Mysaria, but I think Aline Fontes is a good fancast of Book! Mysaria in her expressions and beauty.
Aline has that catlike vibe I always associated with Mysaria who is unapologetic and does not feel guilty for being ambitious.
Also, since Aline is Brazilian she would obviously have a different accent to the rest of the British actors, similar to Mysaria who is a Lysene living in Westeros.

HOTD 1x09: Immediate reaction
For the most important episode of each season. I don’t think it was nailed. And I don’t think that the episode should have stand alone. It should have included the blacks too.
Honestly, the big win in this episode was the music, incredibly on point.
Beware of the beast = Helaena’s prophecy has been fulfilled.
What I loved: - The changes of the introduction with this time seeing the Hightower bloodline. But still no show of Daemon and Rhaenyra’s line.  - It was so lugubre, perfect for the episode.  - Lord Beesbury will die and be remember as a heros.  - The silent sisters. - Mysaria’s quote “There is no power but what the people allow to take.” She was definitively incredible.  - Ser Erryk Cargyll seing that Aegon is unworthy of the crown.  - Aegon being the only honest person from the Greens.  - Otto reaching more orgasm when Aegon was crowned that Aegon himself.
Aegon is such a fucked up, I even felt pity for him.
What I hated:  - Viserys did immediately after the dinner, so why Rhaenyra and Daemon are already gone from King’s Lading in the middle of the night? But not Rhaenys? Come one.  - Alicent being a total hypocrite, lying to herself and others. Even Aegon knows. Also, in Fire and Blood, Alicent did the coup herself. She was the instigator of all this. Being a total hypocrite to Rhaenyra, when she is using her feminine attribut to control Ser Crispin and Larys Strong.  - Ser Crispin saying that you should venerate every women, again what a fucking liar.  - The true lord of Flea Bottom is Aegon (not Daemon). - Aemond is nothing compare to Daemon. Daemon never wanted the crown compare to Aemond. And no we wouldn’t have been a good King.  - The conversation between Alicent and Otto, honestly too late for it, but at least the quote was good “I’m rather a piece you move throw the board. If that’s true I made you queen of the Seven Kingdoms. (...) I wanted whatever you impress upon to me to want.” - WTF is up with Larys Strong and Alicent! This was honestly disgusting! At least we had the term “Feed to the weaver”.  - Lord Caswell’s death. - The burned Mysaria’s House.  - Aegon the Conqueror’s crown! What happened to the rubis?  - Rhaenys’ exit was beyond fucked up, couldn’t killed the greens and the way the CGI were made to exit the door with the Dragon is so wrong!! It killed the end honestly.
Question: - How does Ser Erryk Strong knows the secret passage of Maegor?  - What happened to Ser Westerling?
Big foreshadowing with Helaena when Alicent said protect “Helaena” to Cole! No one will be able too.
Will watch it again tomorrow with the English subtitles. I have certainly missed something.

Thoughts on mysaria?
I like her in the book because she did live daemon and his faults, like I can see why she’s bitter and angry when she’s thinks about daemon. I don’t think she told Rhaenyra about nettles because she was jealous her but because even mysaria knew that daemon was in love with her and it would kill him to see her die.
Well I do not personally like her nor do I find her that interesting, but she could be considered an interesting character(if that makes sense).
In the book, she is an incredibly bitter woman who takes her issues out on Daemon on an innocent person rather than the man himself.
I think she lashed out because she thought Daemon saw her as an equal, but over time she came to realize he did not. He probably started slowly icing her out/stopped communicating his plans with her. She compared how he treated Nettles to her and that sent her off the rails.
I guess you can say she takes out a page from Daemon’s book by going after someone he loved, but the fact that she goes after a girl who is not so much unlike herself(Mysaria is a prostitute, Nettles’ mother was a prostitute, and they are both lowborn girls who had to make their way in the world) shows how despicable she is.
The show has a chance to do her justice(again even if I don’t personally like her I will admit she could be considered interesting), but they so far have butchered her arc.
They’ve turned her into a humanitarian who is #team small folk, with an atrocious accent. Her characterization makes zero sense given how she’s one of the masterminds behind Blood & Cheese and her attempt at murdering Nettles.
And I don’t care if this sounds petty. She’s supposed to be Valyrian. They should’ve given her a hideous discount part city wig like the rest of them🤣 People talk about Addam having Black hair taken away from Nettles arc, but I find that less of an issue than Mysaria because she’s no longer Valyrian. Again it’s minor, but I’m still pissed about this.

Every day I mourn Mysaria's relationship with Daemon and her scrapped pregnancy and miscarriage.
How can you scrap all that out??? This helped build personal motives for her actions during B&C and as defacto Spymaster later in the Dance.
She lost her baby because of pressure and intimidation from the Crown (Viserys). She knows what it's like to be looked down on by the elite and lose something precious as a result, just like Rhaenyra lost Luke who was a bastard.
Her shared traumatic past with Daemon would've also helped to explain her need for proximity to Daemon and her urge to help him.
And again, her betrayal of Daemon by snitching on him and Nettles to Rhaenyra would've had more layers to it if her strong link with Daemon was accurately shown. She, as much as Rhaenyra, were offended by Daemon's affair.
Instead Mysaria is now bare bones and without narrative flesh, a child activist in name only who doesn't exactly care for all children.
Also, she wanted to be with Daemon for 'protection' without...cementing a union with him through marriage??? I'm sorry but that's what i understood when she rejected his offer on Dragonstone...so why hang around with him at all if it's not that deep? 🙃
The writers really don't understand themselves when it comes to writing women that aren't their faves. 🤭
