The Eclipse is for the queers.
The Eclipse is for the queers who are fighting. The ones who are out and proud and have no other choice but to push against the hatred.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are too afraid to fight. The ones who are out and scared and can only watch from a distance.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are hiding. The ones who are fighting internally, who can only hope for a world where they can truly love.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are trying. The ones who fake a smile and try to lift everyone else up, when they can't really carry themselves.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are faking. The ones who wish to be themselves but believe success is a bigger cause than happiness.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for queers, the proof that we can all make it.

i think im one of the few ppl here who thinks that a direct apology from thua is necessary. during the confession scene in the classroom, thua made it pretty clear on what he stands in. he's sure of the choices he made. he's not sorry for what he did, he will do it again if he has to. however, him helping to make the BL film with them was his way of making up to his mistakes.
Hello, I'm Respect the Petty, and here on this corner of the internet, I respect the petty. Thua apologized to Kan, and if that was the only member of the group he ever apologizes to, I'd respect it. Why?
Because the only people in this show who deserve a true apology are these three:
Tumblr media
Akk tried to run them over
Akk threw a potted plant from the second story at them
Akk destroyed their protesting materials with red paint
Akk tried to burn their protesting materials
Namo took down and burned all their fliers
Ayan encouraged them to keep protesting yet never protested with them and didn't show up to the biggest one
Thua lit a dummy on fire with their names on it
Thua opened a Twitter account to threaten them
Thua made a banner threatening them
Kan made several homophobic remarks about them
The prefects continuously took their materials away and dragged them to and away from the Student Welfare Office
The judo teacher HIT THEM!
The other students physically and verbally bullied them
The school ignored their pleas and encouraged the other students to bully them
Their parents were unsupportive
Tumblr media
Nain, Nun, and Nong were happy kids, and the school and their peers made their lives a living hell every single day, yet they preserved.
Tumblr media
So if we are demanding apologies, RUN THEM THEIR COMPENSATION!
Line up the entire school and one-by-one each person needs to apologize to The World Remembers. Record those apologies, so the next time any of these people think about bullying someone, they'll remember when they attempted murder and made threats to three of their peers
Heck, live stream those apologies because if they wanted to humiliate them publicly, they better atone publicly as well. I want the world to remember this bullshit because my petty ass sure is!
APOLOGIZE TO MY BOYS!

What Akk did is inexcusable, however he’s been carrying an immense (and dangerous) amount of guilt with him for it. He could’ve done without Thua outing him in a place where his reputation determines his future. If Thua had decided to have a conversation about this, he would have known. Also, Ayan has been an amazing friend to Thua - why treat him this way (take his notebook, out his boyfriend). And last but not least, The World Remembers-boys could’ve done without the added trauma of death threats from Thua’s hand. Thua’s queer himself and he’s been living with a bully - he should have known better. There’s a million different ways he could have handled this.
Anyway babes, this episode messed me up..

The World Remembers protested school uniforms because they were fighting for the right to express themselves and one of the major ways people express themselves, their gender identity, their relationships and their world is through their clothing. They never needed to protest for more than that and when they were allowed to start a group specifically about self-expression and being yourself... it reflects perfectly on what they wanted to accomplish.

And then I'm also breaking for the World Remembers, they are being threatened very vividly and even the ones who should be on their side like Sani are not stepping in to truly protect them, and they still fight. When they started chanting in the face of Chadoks rage.. they are the bravest. They keep fighting, keep pushing, keep trying, because they cannot stop, they cannot hide who they are or that the system they are under is crushing them

“It won’t kill them to stay silent”
Funny how one sentence can carry so much weight and make you realize how dissonant from reality some people can be from the world around them. In a place where one voice can save lives, can bring awareness, can open people’s eyes, staying silent would kill them. Because worse than dying fighting, is fighting without people realizing.
Is having your struggles erased in a blink of an eye.
Is having your existence denied because all there was around you was silence.
When people demand minority groups to keep silent, to not flaunt who they are, no conform with the societal views that are imposed on everyone, they want to continue to pretend that everything in the world is okay, they want to continue to live in their blissful ignorance, they want to continue to stay on top and keep everybody else on their feet.
Imagine how many women would be dead by now if women from the past didn’t decide to protest, so they could at least be recognized as human beings and not merchandise? How many people of color would be dead by now if people of color didn’t go through extensive lengths to spread awareness to other people? how many queer people would be dead by now if the queer people of the past didn’t give their lives so that the queer people of today could have the freedom they did not have?
If people are raising concerns and all you can think is that they should stay silent, that is very telling on where in the societal scale of privileges you are because you are viewing the issue through your own lens and not actually listening to what those people are saying. If people raising concerns means that you will lose reputation and money - valid concerns, not ”concerns” created out of spite or any other petty reasons - maybe what you should do is look into those concerns and see if they are really valid, instead of shutting them down on the get go. If people raising concerns makes you uncomfortable, it’s good, because it means you can sympathize with their words and can sense that maybe something really is wrong and can be changed.
“It won’t kill them to stay silent”
While that statement can be applied to some matters, in others, is not that simple. In some matters, silence does more harm than good. In some matters, not doing anything can have devastating consequences. In some matters, yes, it can kill.
And we are tired of dying in silence.

Yes outing someone is bad, don't do it and my friends who did it to me became my ex-friends quick. BUT can also talk how unhinged and scary Thua's death threats to The World Remembers Gang are? It's not a competition between whose death threats are scarier between Akk and Thua but, I'm just saying, that if it was, then Thua would win it hands down.
- the paint he uses looks more realistically like blood
- the way the paint dripped like blood into one of the Jum's face built suspense until the climax of dropping aa big ass banner (HOW DID HE EVEN GET IT IN THERE?!)
- the puppet dressed up like a student with the Jums' name on it.
- the way he hung it by the neck
- AND SET IT ON FIRE!
- the insidious way he set up an online presence for the curse

Y'all. Everyone. All you The Eclipse lovers going through The Eclipse tags right now.
Go watch this amazing, tender, haunting, moving, inspiring, gorgeous fan video that @iguessitsjustme made.
[fanvid? fan edit? music video? I don't know the correct terminology.]
The music is "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" by The Secret Sisters, from The Hunger Games soundtrack. This video makes me cry and gives me chills every time I watch it.
Since it was posted yesterday, and there's an avalanche of wonderful posts about this show, I'm worried it will get lost. And I want to make sure everyone knows about it.

The World Remembers says that they want tomorrow to be better and we get to see their better tomorrow with their boyfriends and in Cafe for All, we see their hopes and their honest support for each other exactly as they are.
But what better tomorrow do the others see?
Thua doesn't see a better tomorrow. He sees more days with his stepfather, more days watching others be insulted for being like him, more days of silence, more days of loneliness.
Ayan sees a future of revenge for those who hurt Dika, a bleak future without support, a chance to hurt people but with no idea what healing might be, nightmares that repeat each night until he can almost taste them in the day.
Kan sees a fight he can't win, a future he can't face, freedom he can't imagine and a curse waiting just around the corner for loving who he loves and for being loved, a that that leaves him trapped inside himself, hating himself and hurting people he only wants to help.
Akk sees a world falling apart and threatening his future, no chance at anything unless he fights for ancient rules because they've been his only comfort though they hurt him in return, he takes the weight and the worries and the pressure of the world and carries until he breaks and keeps going.
None of them see the future that The World Remembers does because none of them have support from outside, none of them have a safe place to go that embraces them as they are.
The closest they have in Akk's dorm room, their place, where they can laugh and play and be the teenagers they are and not the adults the world is trying to force them to be. But even there, they're all keeping secrets. The secrets just hurt less.

I am curious, bc I just ran across one of those, 'everyone remembers where they were when 9/11 happened!' things so-
This isn't meant to be a commentary on the event, just whether or not you remember where you were/what you were doing when the news hit.
As an example, I was home sick, doing dishes, when mom yelled for me to get in the living room RIGHT NOW.
