I Know What You Are... You Are Mega Man!

The differences between each Mega is something I love and appreciate, plus it's also fun to compare them side-by-side for it.

I think it's really amusing how they start with robots that slowly reach near-human traits, and then there's a straight-up human. Albeit, he is merged with a non-human being.

And then there's Volnutt. I know he could probably be narrowed down to an "artificial human", but I like the idea of tying him to his celestial origins as Trigger that are still half a mystery.

Such is my running-joke with him. He is just... Volnutt (currently).

I have no idea what the new event is about because i can't read japanese but if they actually made them childhood friends then this is another case of retconning. Like, there is a whole scene in Horror night halloween where subaru and hokuto bond over having no childhood friends in contrast to makoto and mao.

Unless hokuto's whole crossdressing thing leads to subaru not recognizing him which is understandable but like, surely hokuto recognizes subaru?

Or was the horror night halloween scene supposed to mean something like:

Subaru: "Wow what a coincidence! Neither of us have childhood friends!"

Hokuto: "Yes" (blatantly lying)

i haven't read the story, i don't know if they're exactly referred to as friends because well. it's enstars. it's the unconventional childhood connections games, and often they'd call someone a "friends" for lack of a better word. but they certainly knew each other enough (in the story, (loose explanation don't quote me on this) jin is babysitting hokke during christmas and they invite subaru to come along)

subaru does have his reasons to not recognize hokke (crossdressing as well as trauma responses to his father's arrest, he's said he's forgotten a lot), but hokke as far as we know, very much could and should recognize him. but it will likely get explained later. i wouldn't call it a retcon just yet because, as i said it's a common manga trope, the whole childhood friends but one of them doesn't remember, and the other (it's always the dark-haired one) hides it for whatever reason. id say the horoharo scene was most likely lying, yes. hokuto sort of has a history in looking at subaru from afar i feel, he probably thinks it's better for subaru to not remember. but yeah we'll have to wait a bit longer

Oh gosh he'd be so good. And he'd definitely always take random and passive agressive jabs at some "rye" that no-one knows. Cut to subaru (Akai) who follows along with his cooking while smiling and humming to himself whenever Furuya lowkey calls him an idiot or something.

Everyone thinks Furuya is exagerating when he says that this idiot would probably fail the current step when it's literally just like adding a certain amount of spices. No-one knows he's right and later that evening Subaru sits pouting in front of the disaster of a dish he's made.

Also car racer AU when???? Rye, Scotch and Bourbon technically driving for the same group but Bourbon and Rye are rivals (Bourbon always wants to compete and Rye humours him) and always race each other. Rye and Bourbon are actually top racers, but Gin (who is an opponent) is also a strong contender for that title.

I just imagine myself clinging to Shuichi before every race because cars scare me and what if something happens to him 😭

Also anything domestic with Subaru always makes my heart race 🥺 tending to the garden, teaching him how to cook, taking the kids to a fair or visiting a school festival 🥺

you reciprocate his smile, sitting next to him on the floor. subaru looks over to you, his eyes made only for you; slowly, he links your arms and kisses the back of your palms, his lips lighter than a feather against your knuckles, “ahaha, i really mean it… what would i do without you, i mean.”
