Copyright is intended to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itsDemon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train.[6][7][8] A copyright is subject to limitations based on public interest considerations, such as the fair use doctrine in the United States. It is widely believed that copyrights are a must to foster cultural diversity and creativity. However, Parc argues that contrary to prevailing beliefs, imitation and copying do not restrict cultural creativity or diversity but in fact support them further. This argument has been supported by many examples such as Millet and Van Gogh, Picasso, Manet, and Monet, etc.[15] 🔮 ADAPTATION 🔮 Sarah Paulson is my top choice, yet this film isn’t her best. I trusted that months for this will come out and I’m left asking why I was so energized. The trailer parted with everything. You knew the entire story before it even began. There was practically zero character improvement and everything just felt like it was 0–100 with no pacing at all. Likewise, the cosmetics office for Sarah’s last look-the hellfire would you say you were folks on when you thought of this? I really snickered when I saw her. It was an alright film. One that you’d be pissed on the off chance that you burned through cash on. Nothing new, normal, worn out acting. Additionally, no one realizes the proper behavior an asthma assault. This film had so many plot openings that it seemed like a parody. The mother can simply take an infant from the clinic? She harms her little girl for quite a long time and no specialist actually sees this during her regular visits? How did she manage the postal carrier’s vehicle? No one minded the postal carrier was absent? For what reason did the girl never get one of the numerous sharp or gruff articles around her and hit her mother? The mother leaves all her significant reports in a container sitting out and marked? For what reason would she tie up her girl’s wheel seat and not her girl? This is the means by which the entire film goes. The main redeemable nature of the film was Sarah Paulson’s very frightening acting. Likewise, this story has been done so often. I would not burn through my time watching this. Run is unsurprising and not extraordinary. The acting is phenomenal, while the story is fair. The story makes a magnificent showing of being exciting, yet it chiefly doesn’t go anyplace. I knew all that planned to happen despite the fact that I knew nothing. Nonetheless, There was one scene I appreciated where Clare says, “you need me.” The acting was only exceptional in that particular scene. In general, it’s a one time watch that you’ll most likely fail to remember. This is another film on Hulu by Aneesh Chaganty (and co-composed by Sev Ohanian), following up their realistic presentation Searching (2018) with a spine chiller including a mother and her 17-year-old little girl brought into the world with a few confusions (arrhythmia, hemochromatosis, asthma, diabetes, and most effectively loss of motion). I will say that it’s conceivable this film is superior to I preferred it, yet in the event that so it would be for its coordinating and acting, and less so about the composition. I felt like there were openings all over the place, and maybe an excess of is tossed at us too early for us to appropriately think about the characters and their circumstance. This sort of film has been done previously, absent a lot of new added to the table short the wheelchair perspective. There were a ton of components set up for what might have given a more grounded finishing conveyance and punch, yet the greater part of those beats were one-note and spent prior in the film as opposed to associating a solid inward weaving as Searching had the option to do. I went in visually impaired, and it’s possible better that I did given that the trailer is fairly uncovering. I don’t think it had a sufficiently high roof in any case to overshadow any wild absence of desires I previously had. My solitary desire was in the possession of the makers, and the most saving grace this film will probably have on crowds is I expectation they become mindful of Searching and see it sooner or later… which is the thing that I expectation the greater part of all of you can detract from this. That was my #1 film of 2018, and Run will tumble to the wayside as fairly convincing yet totally forgettable. The story and pre-assembled relationship just needed more squeeze once the credits rolled. This film was average, best case scenario. Try not to accept individuals giving it 8 or 9. The plot has been seen ordinarily, it was excessively unreasonable, and the closure failed. They attempted to showcase it as a loathsomeness/spine chiller however nothing about it is exciting. It’s a dramatization completely. I will say however, the entertainers did astounding with what they were given. Sarah Paulson was her standard sDemon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train, great, not honor commendable. Be that as it may, Kiera Allen truly captured everyone’s attention. She made the film (which delayed for what seemed like 2 hours) watchable. In the event that you appreciated The Act or have nothing else to watch, give it a go. What’s the point of messing with this poop. It resembles a low lease endeavor at a spine chiller yet you definitely know the closure. The faltering endeavors at tension are more irritating than anything. It’s a terrible lifetime film to be straightforward. Furthermore, I like lifetime motion pictures! It’s additionally excessively coordinated, the music is exhausted and the acting isn’t incredible

Intouchables.

Copyrights of this type vary by country; many countries, and sometimes a large group of countries, have made agreements with other countries on procedures applicable when works “cross” national borders or national rights are inconsistent.[14] Typically, the public law duration of a copyright expires 50 to 100 years after the creator dies, depending on the jurisdiction. Some countries require certain copyright formalities[5] to establishing copyright, others recognize copyright in any completed work, without a formal registration.

I persevered and finally was able to wrap up my third visual novel, ファタモルガーナの館!
Stats:
I doubt people actually read my hot takes on popular and highly acclaimed media, so instead and first and foremost, please take a look into my reading stats for this visual novel to soften the blow!
Bonus spoiler stats on how I'm progressing with other VNs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I read ファタモル for a total of 69 hours and 21 minutes in 26 days. Sadly, those 26 days were stretched across four months, immediately breaking my one VN a month attempt at being better at picking reading material over listening material. It is what it is, and I have been filling the gaps with other books if you've been following along my monthly immersion updates. I did try my best to be consistent with the amount I was reading in those 26 days, and I managed to never drop under 20,000 characters per reading session.
Time Spent on Each Door: 1st Door (7.34 hours); 2nd Door (7.73 hours); 3rd Door (7.98 hours); 4th Door (4.17 hours); 5th Door (8.03 hours); 6th Door (8.38 hours); 7th Door (7.67 hours); Final Door (15.05 hours); and Dead Ends and Bonus Content (2.62 hours)
Tumblr media
Between being consistent with the amount I was reading, and reading other material in between, I managed to average 10,323 characters an hour, starting at an initial pace of 7,076 and reaching 12,795 characters on a good day (probably lots of conversations and less exposition).
Honestly, my growth with this VN felt a lot more consistent compared to ISLAND, which was strange since I was reading that daily, but it was probably because I felt like ファタ was better at using the same words throughout the story that even when I haven't come close to learning every word I mined from this on Anki, I just have naturally started to pick them up on my own. Hooray natural SRS! Can I also say that being able to read at 10k chars/hour is really fun, since I get to read more story in a shorter period of time even though I've never met my daily sadistic goal of reading 5 hours per day?
I feel like I should stick to a daily reading goal, but maybe with a higher number like 35k or 40k characters just so I can make sure that I read at least 1M characters per month. I have a feeling my growth would be exponential given that although I was inconsistent with reading this particular VN, my reading speed and ability to recognize words in the wild didn't suffer to my pleasant surprise.
Warning: Long review and spoilers ahead.
This VN was certainly...something. I honestly thought that I would like this way more given that it was a combination of genres I loved - historical fiction, romance, suspense, drama - but honestly, and I will get crucified (haha) for saying this, but it was a combination of several cookie-cutter tragedies smashed together (eventually) to form one end to the story. It took a roundabout way to narrate the plot, part of the unreliable narrator type style the developers were going for I guess, so it ended up retelling the same scenarios several times from different perspectives, which made it way too long and drawn out.
Doors 1, 2, and 3 suffered the most from this. The characters were great, they had enough personality to make things interesting, but the stories they were in? Absolutely predictable. You absolutely knew that Nellie was batshit crazy enough to do what she did, knew that Yukimasa was too far gone to think straight and that whatever Pauline was attempting to do would not end well, and knew that Maria was a homewrecker brewing something in the background, and of course because Jacopo was too prideful and couldn't sit down to talk to his wife, her scheme went according to plan.
Doors 4, 5, and 6 were interesting because we got to see how the situation came to be, and obviously, Michel and Giselle as characters were so full of life and I loved reading about them. Poor Giselle had to endure so much heartbreak (even at the very end since she had to wait even more!). It was also pretty cool how they start off as semi narrators and they end up switching perspectives as protagonists. And yet, I almost gave up on it (I barely read anything from this in May) since it felt as if they told the same story three different times, again, with just a change in perspective.
I also might be extra salty because I lacked the vocabulary to make things go faster. The flow was there, I knew where it was going, but because I had to look up a lot of words in between to fill the gaps, it took longer (it took me 21+ hours to clear the most predictable doors in the story). With adjectives in particular, I had to be extra careful and look through several monolingual definitions to properly understand the nuance. Bilingual definitions do not make the cut, since it often encapsulates different words into one translated meaning, so its very easy to lose the meaning of words if you rely on those definitions alone. They are good for nouns though, so I keep it hidden under all the other dictionaries.
That said, there were some parts of this visual novel that I actually thoroughly enjoyed despite my grumblings. The CGs were absolutely beautiful, and was something that I looked forward to while reading. I technically did also pick this VN for the cover art alone - definitely judged a book visual novel by its cover. It's nothing like I've ever seen from Japanese media, and I'm glad they took a more gothic European approach to the overall art style. I'm not certain of the garments' historical accuracy though, but whatever, pretty pictures!

For a VN that had so many important main and supporting characters, all of them felt really different to each other, and they had so much personality that even if the story that involved them was too cookie cutter for my liking, the writers have somehow managed to individualize the characters really well, and thank goodness for that, because I don't know if I would have had enough patience to finish this otherwise.
I also really enjoyed that this was an unvoiced VN. It really challenged my reading ability, and I realized just how much I was relying on my listening with the other visual novels I've tried. Explains the doubtful speed I was reading ISLAND in towards the end too, I guess. Anyway, I think I might either turn off or turn voices really low for the other VNs I'm reading because of this discovery. Voice acting in reading material feels like furigana in manga or subtitles turned on for anime - training wheels you can't take off when you get used to it. Thankfully, I haven't fallen too deep into that trap yet. Sure, voice acting adds to the experience, but unless you're a complete beginner or an intermediate learner who haven't listened to raw material a lot and using VA as practice, it feels way more beneficial to build upon all of these skills separately, at least that's what I feel is best for myself. Who knows? Maybe I'll change my mind when I start reading harder VNs.
The music was also really interesting. It was sometimes too creepy and distracting to keep listening to, but it added so much to the mood and the flow of the story that I felt like I was missing out whenever I turned it low. I love the music that plays whenever Michel and Giselle are interacting - it's the one piece of music in this entire VN that was not creepy and was easy to read to.
Anyway, and I'm not sure why I'm counting this as a positive, this VN made me endlessly uncomfortable and frustrated, since it tells several stories that although were sometimes predictable, go against the moral compass so much that I could not stand to read it for more than two hours at a time. This happens to me often with a lot of classics and historical fiction that I absolutely adore. A lot of them, I've wanted to drop several times (technically, I am on a break from them because Japanese immersion), but I also find them captivating enough to not quit.

Door 7 and the Final Door were particularly heinous. Michel's awful childhood, especially under the hands of Aimee was tough to read. Honestly, she felt more wicked than Morgana at times. The family betrayal was cruel, and Didier and and Georges' acts just added salt to the wound. The dynamic change to portrait style was awesome though and added a lot to the twisted fairytale like storytelling.
Morgana's backstory (and eventually Jacopo's side of the story) was tough to read because it switched the storytelling to novel format, and all I had was my imagination to help me push through the actually disgusting turn of events. Actually, now that I think about it, I'd rather not see CGs for that.
This sounds bad, but I can't make myself feel pity for her even though she went through a lot. She knew that she got sold out, made to believe a lie about her being, and yet she continued to eat the story up, because it placed her on such a pedestal. It was clearly a sham and a cult, she was even able to recognize it herself, and yet she failed herself by continuing her self proclaimed 'selfless acts'.
That's where Michel and Morgana differ. Michel, however heinous the things that happened, chose to forgive, to not take revenge even when given the chance. Morgana may have released everyone from the house, but she never properly let go of the pain and forgave everyone, even though they sincerely regretted everything and apologized for their actions. There was no positive character development, no redemption arc. It's just bitterness for her 'til the very end. Even in the bonus content, she 'jokes' that she'll curse everyone again.
That is why, no matter how much she thinks she's a saint, she will never be. She does not have the humility, the willingness to forgive, and the ability to genuinely sacrifice for others (and not in the twisted way she was doing it) to be considered one. Even the White Haired Girl, the part that Morgana split from herself, did not seem as pure as she was made to be. Taking on the hated appearance of someone because she 'admired' them is really cruel when you think about it.

ファタモル had so many interesting and useful words used in such twisted contexts - contexts in which I hated learning a lot of them in - so even though it was a bit sickening at times, I was loathe to quit reading. A very bad case of sunk cost fallacy perhaps. Oh well, it is what it is. It hardly matters with word cards anyway.
So, do I or do I not love this visual novel? Who knows really, I'm still mulling it over as I write this, but I will be thinking about this VN for a while, that is for sure.
