"Solo Farming in the Tower" is such a refreshing manhwa for a number of reasons, chief of which being that the cute monster girls (and boys) actually look like monster girls (and boys), and in such intelligent ways too!
Tumblr media
The Queen Bee monster girl is bigger than her workers (also incredibly adorable) and wears a crown.
Tumblr media
The Warrior Minotaur Lady is actually buff and I want her to step on me, has cute hoovsies and all minotaurs are shown to not have teeth on their upper gums, just like actual cows!
But most importantly...
Tumblr media
THE DRAGON GIRL LOVE INTEREST DOESN'T HAVE BOOBS HUUUGE W Like don't get me wrong, Kushaton from Marin to Melan is peak character design, but reptile mammaries will always be funny to me. Also I know that the dragon girl will eventually get a human form, but the fact that it hasn't happened after nearly 50 chapters is incredible in and of itself. And anyway it won't be permanent.
The story also doesn't drag on the conflict uselessly, and doesn't try to be what it's not. It's a cute little story about an everyman farming in a dungeon, harvesting his crops, and training pokemon building an army solving world hunger gaining a few farm-hands and friends while being utterly oblivious to the crap happening outside, and it's great.

I've recently gotten into web comics but I don't like most of the male characters in romance comics, they do some really creepy things that seem to just get swept under the rug. Do you have any recommendations for some good romance comics?
*cracks neck* I've trained for this day for years
This is going to be a combination of manhwa, manhua, webtoons and probably some manga too, of all kinds of genres, most are my favorites and I'll explain why so pick whatever catches your interest.
Post is going to be super long so:
I Stan The Prince -> starting of with a strong one, the fl writes a fanfiction about the notorious ex crown prince and raises his popularity. Now she has to work with him and write another book all while dealing with political drama and dark royal secrets. This manhwa rescently just came back from an incredibly long hiatus, it has no novel it's an original manhwa and the main couple are literally the cutest most in love mutual pining idiots ever they're married they just don't know it yet
Hidden Love -> Warning this has a 7 age gap! The story starts when the fl is 13 and meets her brothers dormmate and falls in love with him but keeps it a secret and they lose contact. Years later when she's in college she reunites with the brother's friend and old feelings start to resurface and he slowly falls for her now that she is an adult. I am going to repeat this only once, no grooming, no weird underage romance, ml never liked her like that when she was a child her romance was one sided back then, both are consenting adults now. The fl helps ml with his struggling past and makes him realize he is worthy of love. The fl is strong and confident and she's the one saving the ml multiple times. The ml is literally such a green flag even if he's a big flirt when "courting" her. It's an incredibly touching story and it even has a drama
Eternal Love/First Froat -> set in the same universe as the story above, this is about the love story of the prev fl brother and the mc, his high school classmate. Both had a crush on each other back then but the fl pushed him away coldly and they seperated. Years later they met by chance and by chance yet again ended up as roommates. Slowly they realize the feelings never went away and they keep getting drawn to each other but the horribly tragic past of the fl and the reason she pushed the ml away slowly uncoveres too. This is a beautiful story of a love that never stopped. The mcs are literally meant to be and the fl is so strong after everything she's been through. And the ml is the most patient, caring mam ever everyone deserves a man like him. Literally the standard. Both these books can be read as stand alones but there are some hilarious moments that can only be completely understood if you read them both
Savinvg My Sweetheart -> You will cry so hard while reading this. Fl is the saintess' daughter and after the death of her husband who she was politically married to, she goes back in time a few months before their marriage and only has one goal, to save her kind husbad from her mother even if it causes her death. Both the fl and ml love each other so incredibly much but both think the other hates them because of the forced marriage yet that misunderstanding doesn't stop them from being the literal greatest cople ever! The are such a healthy couple and both are incredibly fleshed out and not just making romance their entire point of existance. Fl slowly gathers powers in order to stop her biological mother who is evil incarnate and save everyone. Ml works together with fl and on his own in order to strengthen his kingdom. And the link that connects them will literally have you crying for the next 20 years. The story is more of a found family/romance and it's one of the most well written stories ever, you will almost never find one loophone everything is planned to the T
Caught By The Villain -> the ml might start bad here but I'm telling you his character development is simply 👌 ✨️. Fl gets transported into the world of this novel she read as the twin sister of a minor villain. Later she has to join knighthood disgusted as her brother and somehow gets chosen as the personal guard of the crown prince, aka main villain, but also with the og!ml which is somewhat different from the story. Ok I'm going to start by saying the title is literally the greatest clickbait ever because almost everyone but the villain catch her and discovered she's a girl. The story has great representation and discusses about a lot of topics like gender and sexuality which you almost never find talked in manhwas. The ml starts bad but slowly by spending time with fl he realizes his mistakes, sincerely apologises tho does not expect forgiveness, promises to change and does keep his word, genuenly loves and cherishes her and is an all round little meow meow and I love him. He's a bi disaster too. Fl is strong and under lots of stress. She slowly gets closer with ml and realizes he's not just the big bad evil villain from the novel and the closer they get and the more genuine their friendship becomes, the more she feels guilty for hiding her true identity from ml. And the og!ml is a special case that I don't even wanna touch with a 10 foot pole so theres that. The development all these characters go through is slow and so perfectly written you don't even realize how much they changed until you go back and realise they're not the same as the beginong
Even If You Split My Mouth -> manga with japanese urban legends which means it has some gore and body horror. The story follows a Kuchisake-Onna and her contract fiancé, a 17 yo boy who has the power to strengthen her legend with his words so she won't disappear. She doesn't want this engagement while he is in love with her so they form a pact, if she can scare him within a year the engagement is off, if not than they get married. This is one of those stories that start all silly goofy but end up having some of the deepest lore ever. The fl is super cute for a yokai and she blushes a lot every time ml flirts. Ml is completly unphased by her scare attempts and loves her to bits. They're such a dumb cute couple and their love story is so fun and sad sometimes. All the side characters are entertaining and lovable. Really there's not one bad thing I can say about this manga, it deserves more love
You Are My Desire -> high school sweethearts and later uni sweethearts. Fl moves to a new city and school after her parents messy divorce and her father's remarriage. While looking around she stumbles upon a tatoo shop and amazingly embarrasses herself in front of the tattooist. On the first day of school she happens to end up as deskmates with that same tattooist who's coincidentally the school tyrant but slowly it becomes visible this tyrant doesn't act like a tyrant at all and so a weird relationship is born out of the two of them. The two mcs are one of the best couples I've ever read. They slowly heal heach others wounds and teach each other that they love them even with their scars. I don't wanna say a lot since the manhua only has aroumd 20 chapters and there's so much story from the novel that hasn't been told yet. There's slso a drama that was rescently released
Daytime Star -> modern manhwa. An actress who has been cast as nothing but an extra for almost 10 years lands a small role where she gets to play along one of the best male actors in the industry. After that they both can't stop thinking about each other and that's how their love story begins. One of the healthiest modern manhwa couples ever! They're literally so cute they will call you single in all languages pf the world and more. I also loved that the fl slowly rose to fame almost all on her own using her own strength and talent with very few minor moments where others helped. It's a great story and it talks about the struggles of working on the korean entertainment industry too
Villains Are Destined to Die -> oh where do I begin with this masterpiece! Fl gets transmigrated into a dating sim she was playing as the villaines and she's currently in the hard mode which makes it super dificult for her to clear the game. She has to increase the affection percentage of the capture targets so she can go back to her old life and avoid the bad ending which always results in her death. This is literally one of those stories that gets you hooked on the very first chapters alone. Fl goes through so much and she's such a tragic character. All she wants is a peaceful life and she works damn hard for it. Her family is just exhausting but they slowly develop besides SOME who shall not be named. The ml, which you'll probably figure out who it is lile halfway through because he's just that iconic, is literally THE BEST, THE STANDARD! I love him so much and it might not show it in the begining chapters but he's is just perfect. The romance is more secondary tho and the story focuses more on the fl's struggles to survive and the discovery of the secrets that can change the fate of the entire kingdom.
See You In My 19th Life -> this rescently got a drama and I recommend watching that too. Fl is a reincarnator who remembers all her lives besides the first one. In her 19th life she resolves to find a boy form her 18th life who made her enjoy life again after so many reincarnations and made her wish she was reincarnated once again. She manages to get a job in the hotel he manages and immediately asks him to date. Thus begins the story of her following and flirting with her love from the prevous life without him knowing it's her and slowly healing his scars and traumas while also solving the mystery of her reincarnation. The story us full of mystery and absurdly cute couples. The ml is traumatized by fl's death since she died quite literally right in front of his eyes when he was really young and he also has a crap ton of family drama to deal with. The fl loves the him so much and tries her best to help him not just physically but emotionally too. She's like a breath of fresh air for the ml and their love is just so selfless. He loves her even when he doesn't know she's his first love reincarnated. The side couple is literally amazinv too and I would need an entire paragraph to talk about them too. The mystery of the webtoon always keeps you on the edge. Overall amazing webtoon and has an amazing kdrama!
(I'm getting tired and I have to wake up early tomorrow so I'm just gonna drop some titles with no explenation now. There might be some shounen ai in there fyi)
A Stepmother's Marchen
How To Win My Husband Over
Death To Lady White Ferret

Given
The Reason Why Raekiana Ended Up At The Duke's Mansion (also has an anime)

Ajatsuki no Yona
My Secretly Hot Husband
Ok that's all I can squeeze out of my brain for now. Hope you enjoyed the recs

a rec list no one asked for
someone please read my favorite webcomics and talk about them with me.
part 2
Heesu in Class 2 - complete
Despite both being big dumb idiots who don’t know anything about relationships, Heesu and his next door neighbor Seung Won agree to help each other out with their respective secret crushes. And you can already see where this is going. But while this may sound like the plot of every rom-com ever, this manhwa has something none of them have, and it’s the absolute ray of sunshine that is Heesu. He’s an angel.
Main pairing is an A+. Side pairing is like a C- honestly. Heesu playing wingman for the side pairing is an A+. And speaking of wingmen, Heesu’s and Seung Won’s best friends are great. One of them is a girl character who doesn’t just exist to stir up drama. There was a wlw early on in the story who I thought was being set up to be in a side pair but she’s just never seen again. C’est la vie.
Rated W for Wholesome.
.
For Your Love - *complete
When Jung Yohan realizes that his upperclassman Moogyeong has feelings for another guy, he makes it his mission to get the pair together. Yohan thinks unrequited love is for idiots, but joke’s on him, because he’s the biggest idiot of them all. Yohan is easily the best thing about this manhwa. He has the greatest facial expressions.
We don’t have a side pairing...yet. I’m not counting the hetero pairing because zero time was spent setting up that relationship (they’re cute though). But if they’re going in the direction that was kinda sorta hinted at a while back with Yohan’s friend, I give it an F.**
**Update: Yohan’s friend got a spinoff.
.
Someone Else’s BL Manhwa - complete
Loner by day and cross-dresser by night, Kim Seunghee has managed to keep his double life a secret, until he’s caught in drag after a bad date by class president Park Seungtaek and class trouble maker Lee Kyubin. I’m not even gonna spoil who the pairings are, because it’s not immediately apparent. It seems like the main character is kind of polarizing (he’s a bit standoffish), but I personally love Seunghee. I also love Lee Kyubin and Park Inbeom, two characters who seem like assholes at first, but grow more lovable the more you get to know them. They’re still assholes, but they’re lovable assholes.
There is a HUGE portion of the comic dedicated to the side pairing (it really is someone else’s bl) but both the main and side pairings are cute as hell. Based on the comments I've seen, I think most people like the side pairing better than the main, but I like the main couple’s arch a little bit better.
This was one of the first BL comics that I read, so there's a nostalgia factor there for me. I honestly love it too much to be objective about it. Do I love it because it's good or is it good because I love it?
.
Tamen De Gushi - ongoing
It’s the GL counterpart to 19 Days, but with less organized crime and the romance progresses faster.
When Sun Jing sees Qiu Tong at the train station, it’s love at first sight. Cuteness ensues. It’s a really simple premise, but with such a fun cast of characters that it’s enjoyable even when nothing is happening. Qiu Tong is sweet, and Sun Jing’s sweetness extends only as far as Qiu Tong.
Sun Jing’s dynamic with her best bro/wingman is one of the highlights of the comic.
.
Roommates - complete
Kisub just needs to crash on Jinwoo’s couch for a few days, or months, or forever. Which is a problem, because Jinwoo has secret feelings for Kisub, and they’re bound to come out eventually.
Roommates is just too funny. The art style and story are pretty simple, but it has a lot of funny little details that make it relatable. Jinwoo is affected by the tiniest things that Kisub does, like putting a medication patch on his neck. Oh if he were an icy hot patch against that neck...
The main couple is cute as hell. I’m kind of neutral about the side pairing, but I do really like Jinwoo’s friend who makes up half of the couple. His name changes depending on what translation you read, which confused the heck out of me.
There's also a Roommates 2, which is not a direct sequel and none of the characters are roommates.
.
19 Days - ongoing
Shut up, you don’t need me to tell you about 19 Days.
Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi were best friends all through middle school, but right after the start of high school, Jian Yi disappeared. Years later, he returns out of the blue.
Is the set up for the story.
But it’s not really about that. At least not yet. The comic so far has mainly followed them through their middle school days, being funny and cute. Jian Yi has no eyebrows, but Xi has enough for both of them and that’s how you know it’s destiny.
I love the main pairing. The side pairing is. Popular. You don’t need to know my feelings about it. I like Mo. Moving along.
.
On or Off - ongoing
If you haven’t noticed, I tend to go for the more wholesome romances over the smutty ones. I usually find the sex to be gratuitous and feel like it only slows down the plot, if there IS a plot. That being said, this is my favorite webcomic that I’m currently reading.
Based on the synopsis, I shouldn’t even like On or Off. It checks off a lot of items on my list of tropes that immediately turn me off of a story. Starting with the comic opening right off the bat with a quid-pro-quo arrangement in a motel room.
Yiyoung and his friends - a bunch of brilliant but antisocial women - start an app company together, and Yiyoung is the dumb, pretty face of the group. But when they try to sell their app to a major corporation, he flubs the presentation. Now he has to come up with a new way to get director Kang to consider their app.
So the main reason I love this comic is Yiyoung. I would die for Yiyoung. I didn’t like Kang at first, and then I liked him, and now I’m starting to not like him again. But that’s not important. What’s important is that this story had me hooked from the beginning. It had me up all night. It had me spending my hard-earned Tappytoon points to read the chapters as they were released.
.
Here are some honorable mentions. These are stories that aren’t far enough along yet to call favorites, but I feel like they will be.
Soulmate - *complete
GL. 27-year-old Yu Qi has been dating Yuan Zi since college. When she wakes up one morning ten years in the past, in her 17-year-old body, she decides to use it as an opportunity to meet Yuan Zi sooner. She has her reasons. Meanwhile, 17-year old Yu Qi wakes up in her present-day body and doesn’t know Yuan Zi.
*Update: It’s completed. Super cute. Must read.
Mr 100% Perfect
This is another smutty one. Woo-in breaks up with his too-perfect boyfriend, Suk-yun. After getting a job with a cleaning service, his first client turns out to be his ex, who it turns out is not so perfect after all.
Badluck
Sort of GL and BL, but mostly just hilarious. On her 17th birthday, An finds out she has the power to curse anyone she touches, a power inherited from her father, who’s cursed her to be single until she’s 40. Unfortunately this one was dropped because of something to do with Vietnamese copyright laws, so I don’t think we’ll ever get the full comic in English.

Can you recommend BL Manwha? Your BL anime list was epic btw
Thank you so much! I love Manhwas myself. For anyone who doesn’t know they are Korean Comics. Here is a recommendation list for some of the ones that I’ve read. I’ve marked the Mature ones with (***)
19 Days (7/10): This one tells the story of high schoolers going about their daily life and the silly situations they get themselves into as they try and work on their relationships, friendships, and social lives. If you’re looking for a good laugh this is the one for you. The thing I didn’t like is that the releases of the chapters are only a few pages long and the story feels a little disjointed. Of course the main couple swears that they are “just friends” but it’s very obvious where the doubt comes from. This is currently still on-going with over 200 chapters. Comedy, School Life, Slice of Life
Tumblr media
A Guy Like You (10/10): Go Siwon suddenly wakes up in a dream with a classmate that he rarely talks to and is asked if he remembers what they did during the freshmen retreat when they all got drunk. The supernatural element is heavy in this one where two boys share the same dreams and slowly grow together in their waking hours. I cannot rave about this manhaw enough: the art is beautiful, the story is captivating, and the characters are so lovable. This is currently on-going with a little over 30 chapters. Drama, Slice of Life, Supernatural, Romance
Tumblr media
All About Lust (7/10): After seeing his upperclassmen’s artwork Wooseung decides that he will confess, and his confession is easily accepted. Only problem is that his upperclassmen’s idea of love and lust are a little muddled. In order to mend their twisted relationship Wooseung must find the middle between love and lust. This one started off really strong, but I’m not a super fan of the new couple or the most recent chapters. However, I still think that it’s worth the read. It’s still on-going with a little over 30 chapters. Drama, Slice of Life, Mature, Romance
Tumblr media
At the End of the Road (9/10): Taemin suddenly has a dream about a man he has never meet before and watches him try to commit suicide.  The next day Taemin is hit by a truck and when he wake up he finds that he’s no longer in his own body, but the body of the man that he watched last night in his dream. He later learns that his body didn’t survive the accident. He believes that he has switched bodies with the man from his dreams, and now he must live the other man’s life. However, a handsome man from his childhood identifies Taemin and swears to protect him. I feel like I used up my lifetime of “oh shit’s” reading this. There are so many twists and turns with this story. It’s currently on-going with over 35 chapters. Supernatural, School life, Romance
Tumblr media
***Blood Bank (10/10): This is my favorite one on the list hands down. Shell Overlord is a powerful vampire who suddenly becomes very interested in a human named One who works as a banker. In this world humans are treated like livestock and their blood is collected every month to feed the vampires that rule all. However, one day One finds himself standing over Shell as the vampire asks, “Please, step on me.” Shell is an abnormal that must hide the fact that he loves to be dominated by humans, but can he really get One’s love when One has already promised to harden his heart against this cruel world? This has currently finished publishing and has 61 chapters. Mature, Drama, Comedy, Romance, Supernatural, Vampires
Tumblr media
H&H Roman Company (8/10): God has decided that since humans have become so self-reliant and aren’t asking for any help that he will put all of his angels and demons into a company and make them work along side the humans. Ginger is born of both an angel and demon parent. He declares that his angel side is stronger so that he can join his childhood best friend Rum as a pair (pairs are made of one angel and one demon) together they struggle to come to terms with their feelings for each other. This is currently completed with 33 chapters. Comedy, Drama, Supernatural, Slice of Life, Romance, Childhood Friends
Tumblr media
Heart Silent (8/10): Hyeon-Jin’s heart has never beat a day in his life, and then one day he stumbles across Chan. Since then his heart will randomly start beating whenever they’re together. Hyeon-Jin is terrified of his heartbeat, but he doesn’t want to stop meeting Chan. This one is on-going and currently has over 30 chapters. Unlike the others this one is slow-paced and everything is just starting to get rolling, but it’s still very cute. Slice of Life, Drama, Comedy, Romance
Tumblr media
***Killing Stalking (8/10): This one is not for someone who’s weak of heart. The story tells of a stalker, Yoon Bum, who falls in love with a man that happens to be a serial killer. The serial killer, Sangwoo, keeps Yoon Bum prisoner in his house as they do dreadful things together from torture to killing people. At first I think I was so shocked that everything was happening and that’s why I kept reading, but now I can tell you that I think the creepiness has ebbed. I don’t really like this manhwa, but I think I keep reading because I’m curious on how it will end. This is still on-going with currently about 30 chapters.  Psychological, Thriller, Horror, Mature
Tumblr media
***Lover Boy (8/10): Eunho once asked Jaeha to be his, but it was too late he was already getting married. However, now they meet again after Jaeha’s divorce and now the time for new love has arrived. Sadly Jaeha is going out with another man in order to try and help himself forget his feelings for Eunho, but Eunho refuses to give up on their love. This is currently on-going with almost 30 chapters. Romance, Slice of Life, Drama
Tumblr media
Meeting Him (10/10): This is one of the fluffiest things on this list. One day Shiwoo finds an unconscious man wearing traditional clothing outside of his apartment. Shiwoo brings the man into his house only to find that the man is an ancient prince, Jun, that time traveled to find his lover. In Jun’s time his lover is dying of a unknown disease, but in this time Shiwoo is fine but he doesn’t know Jun. Shiwoo and Jun’s lover have the same three moles on their shoulder making Jun think Shiwoo is his lover. I read everything that was translated in one sitting and I’m dying inside. It’s so cute and I need more. This is currently on-going with just over 15 chapters. Romance, Slice of Life, Drama, Comedy
Tumblr media
Raising a Bat (10/10): The cover makes this look like it’s going to be a naughty kind of manhwa, but that couldn’t be more of a lie. Park Min Gyeom has a problem: his body produces too much blood. In order to rid himself of all of the blood he usually donates it, but one day he’s attacked by a vampire. Said Vampire actually is the socially awkward Kim Chun Sam. Together they form a strange relationship as blood provider and vampire. Slowly their feelings for each other start to grow. This is currently complete with 58 chapters, but extras for the story are currently still coming out. Romance, Comedy, Supernatural, Vampire, School Life
Tumblr media
***Royal Servant (10/10): I know that when I started this I was like “Interesting, but not my favorite.” Now I’m super invested in their happiness. This tells the story of Kyon who works for Lucaon who is a Royal Blood/Master with supernatural powers. Lucaon’s parents were poisoned causing him not to trust any of the servants or get close to any of them. However, this all starts to change when he notices Kyon and learns that Kyon has a crush on him. Thus starts their Master/Servant relationship and the thawing of Lucaon’s heart. This is currently on-going with over 30 chapters. Drama, Romance, Slice of Life, Supernatural
Tumblr media
***Window Beyond Window (9/10): They’ve been childhood friends for as long as they could remember.  Yubin has been in love with Shin-Ginu for the past six years and now they are living next door to each other. One night Shin-Ginu sees Yubin playing with his ass and now their strange relationship is about to take off. They both love each other, but neither will admit it. They’re super adorable and funny. I read everything that was translated in one sitting. This is currently on-going with over 20 chapters. Romance, Slice of life, School Life, Childhood friends
Tumblr media
***You JIn (9/10): You Jin is a terrible drunk and did something that he shouldn’t have (give a blow job to a stranger) now said stranger has returned to his room and wants to start a serious relationship with him. Slowly their relationship starts to grow closer after they start being honest with each other. When I started this one I was a little confused because of the lie, but then it made sense. This is currently complete with 16 chapters and a few extras. Romance, Comedy, Slice of Life

11. July 2020
Overview
Hello, long time no see ~who am I joking, no one ever reads this~. The life has been... fine I guess? Nothing really happened, other than I totally stopped watching anime, which I think was my last post about, or like 2-3rd last, who knows. So instead I’ve been reading manga a lot. Unfortunately I no longer have my list sorted by the starting date, as I had problems navigating through the piles of non updating mangas, so I sorted it into 2 groups: releasing and last released in 2019 or before, and even sorted the releasing into kinda: horror, slice of life, fantasy, adventure/isekai and manhwa groups. I’ll post pics of what I read later after finishing this.
I don’t read so munch manhua anymore, mostly coz the stories usually suck, all have the same setting and same cliche moments and well, the ones I packed on back in 2018 on webcomics finally came to their end, with only a small group still releasing. I don’t think I’ll be returning to them ever again; the biggest reason being that they just end without any notice, the author decides to not just continue their series anymore and so be it. Well at the time being I still have a few over dozen releasing on webcomics so I guess I have to just survive through it somehow. ~Tho it’s true that I can find most of them on mangakakalot, but well, I don’t want to spam my list with them, let them be quarantined in their own app~
On the other hand there are Korean comics also known as manhwa. Most of all I love how beautiful many of them are and how the stories even tho may have the same background setting always get developed in their own unique way. I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed in any of them. I also love scroll style of reading opposed to pages so I like them a bit more over manga in that aspect. I have around 13 of them at the moment and out of them the ones I love the most are: A returner’s magic should be special ~for thrilling story and overall enjoyment of story~ Who made me a princess [also called Suddenly became a princess one day] which has the most beautiful art I’ve ever seen and lovely story;
In manga section I’ve been enjoying few Gyaru romances along with slice of life romances lately; I cannot really point out any of the slice of life ones, as they usually are fantasy and I just have too many of them to even remember the stories sometimes, but for gyaru one: Gal Gohan, which finished releasing few months ago, it was the first gyaru romance I’ve read ever and it kinds opened the whole school romance section for me, coz before I never touched that place, as I hate romance comedy combo, but as I read more and more I can safely note that it’s the animes that make the shows just total garbage, as most of the comedy romance animes I’ve watched and didn’t like actually have pretty good mangas.
Another section of manga are the slice of life married romances, which I like for not having the whole shy aspect to them and well it doesn’t take the characters whole story to just confess their feelings that were introduced to us in like chapter 1 to 10. And also it doesn’t have just one kiss scene at the end of the whole thing, which is just the most annoying thing about these school romances. Out of them I love Tonikaku Cawaii the most. It has already a good amount of chapters and plentiful of romance, kisses, hugs, all these things you don’t get from these shy romances, that I strove for back in my anime times, but not often got. Apart from that one there also is On the way home, I got a bride and twin daughters, but they were dragons; [this era will be remembered as the long manga names one and I’ll drag about it to my grand kids, if I ever have any]. It’s not a long one, just 9 chapters so far [11 in raws], but well I love it; I actually put it into the not releasing group, but it released just few days ago, which made me really happy, coz it has so much potential to grow.
Adventure or Isekai is well, just as the name suggests; all these mangas in RPG world, where they fight monsters, get levels, skills and complete quests belong here, most of them Isekais, coz well that seemed to be popular at the time I picked them. Oh oh and also the majority of them have stupidly long names, because of course, nothing identifies isekai adventure more than name so long it doesn’t fit on screen. I dunno whether it’s even possible to pick an individual one out of them to write about, as most of them have the same settings, backgrounds or developments, either it’s being summoned, killed and being reborn or just being the part of the part of the adventure set world to begin with [tho only a few actually have that setting]. Well from hat I wrote it can be noted that they’re very cliche, but I use them as sort of stops in reading longer mangas, as most of them are up to 20 chapters long at the time. Well actually now that I’m looking at the list I see one that I can bring up a little more, called  I Was Kicked out of the Hero’s Party Because I Wasn’t a True Companion so I Decided to Have a Slow Life at the Frontier, I had to copy paste this name, coz reasons... In this one the mc is actually a resident of the world the story is set in, which is a bit more of a rare sight in these, tho the part about being kicked out of the hero’s party is really common. The main difference is that instead of it focusing on the adventure part and having mc train, get skills etc, as most of adventure/isekais do, it develops the romance, it’s just 21 chapters long and I already love the way it’s going.
Then there’s supernatural or fantasy mixed with romance. There are very few of these, as majority of them can be either placed into slice of life romances or adventure romances. There’s not really much to talk about, the only difference between them and adventure/isekais is the leveling system and all.
After that I have few slice of life and romance fantasy pieces, out of which I already talked about few of them already, Tanikaku Cawaii, Gal Gohan or you know the long name one On the way home...
Horror genre is my most recent preference, you see, over time my taste degraded so much that I sometimes like to just watch characters suffer through gore and so on, or actual horror romances, which is basically romance between a human and a ghost or zombie apocalypse, vampire love, these kinds of things. Usually as long there are demons or other beings tha devour humans I put it in here. The ones I’d appoint would be Dreamcide, a great Korean zombie apocalyptic manhwa, it surely doesn’t lack content to read, with its 171 chapters, the story is mostly about the main character’s chaotic ability to time travel and his will to save the future before the shit can go down. The second one is called Sachi-iro no One room. I greatly enjoyed reading it. It’s in this group even tho it’s not really a horror, I just noticed... But well I’ll leave it be. The genres are romance, slice in life, psychological, drama. What I love about this one is that it doesn’t reveal the thoughts of character and just leads you to believe something, to then blow your mind, showing you that the actual motives behind characters’ behavior is just the total opposite of what you expect.
That’s basically all the groups. There are just 6 more mangas on the top of my list, basically the ones I want to immediately notice when they release, because I l love them the most of all on the list or are just left at the cliffhanger.
With that I end my post. It was really lovely to let my hands let free and write this, I really lacked it during the last few months, but never really felt like going here and just spending one and half a hour writing, coz well, with the online school and stuff, pc was the last thing I wanted to see really and then the time for me to pick graduation topic and start working on it came and all, and I just felt like it now, tho almost turned around when the stupid 2 step verification kept rejecting me for 15 minutes, really glad I didn’t.
Also 1503 words, this post is a beast among the beasts.

Note
if there's any crystals u haven't done yet, do them now (8
abalone: what kind of situations compromise my muse emotionally
Anything that has to do with his family (mother, not really his step-father, definitely his father because it’s a sore spot). Anything that causes unneeded stress, uncertainty and paranoia.
aegerine: my muse’s opinion of the supernatural
He doesn’t believe supernatural creatures exist. They’re cool but not real to him.
agate: how my muse calms down
Fresh air and/or being alone.
fire agate: if my muse is brave or cowardly
A little bit of both but more so cowardly. He doesn’t like confrontation and he doesn’t like getting involved in things, and since he likes to avoid his problems… a lot more cowardly than brave.
moss agate: if my muse has a high or low opinion of themself
Low opinion. He doesn’t view himself highly whatsoever, because he feels like he lacks in too many areas. Even though he has many strength and he’s intelligent,
amethyst: what my muse would most like to be able to shape-shift into
A dog. They’re so carefree and everyone loves them.
ammolite: how lucky or unlucky my use is
Depends on the day, he’s not really lucky or unlucky. But if I had to choose, I’d say he has a lot of bad luck given his past and what he’s gone through.
angel aura quartz: my muse’s opinion of LGBT+ issues
I don’t know if he really has one or not. He does believe people should be able to love who they want and be who they are most comfortable as, however he was raised on homosexuality being a sin so when it comes to himself, he thinks it’s wrong and he feels ashamed of himself for being attracted to both men and women.
apache tears: a sadness headcanon
He never shows it, or at least he tries not to. He doesn’t like to appear as though he’s weak and all his life, from the influence of his step-father, he saw showing emotions as a bad thing. His step-father didn’t even like it when his mother would show negative emotions like that and even Jiwon cried as a child he would be told to stop and to “man up”, though his mother did comfort him when they were alone. So he keeps everything to himself. Only cries in solitude but never a lot, he still holds back.
apatite: a headcanon about my muse’s intuition
He does things based on intuition. He always listens to his instincts in nearly all situations, something he found handy while in medical school. If something feels wrong, he won’t do it. If something feels right, he goes with it.
apophyllite: my muse’s religious/spiritual beliefs
Technically Christian but he doesn’t practice anymore and his beliefs are wavering greatly these days.
aquamarine: where my muse feels most calm/relaxed
At home, alone and surrounded with nature, or under the sun, by the sea.
calcite: my muse’s social tendencies (introverted vs extroverted, parties vs one-on-one conversations, etc.)
Introverted tendencies. Prefers one-on-one conversations. But he can talk in front of several people/groups if need be. When it comes to friends he also prefers hanging out with them individually.
carnelian: an art-related headcanon
He appreciates art very much, but he has never tried his hand at it. He doesn’t think he would be any good, especially since the closest thing to “art” he’s done was coloring as a toddler, so he doesn’t bother with it. But that’s just it. He would rather look at it than create it.
chalcedony: the saddest my muse has ever been
After he realized that he must have been the cause of the death in the hospital he was doing his residency. It was the only possibility and to this day he can’t live with himself because of it. He hates himself for leaving his future career behind. Leaving his family. Leaving the friends he made. Leaving his life. It broke him apart.
chalcopyrite: how my muse deals with ending relationships
It’s not a big deal to him. He has both broken up with someone and been broken up with, but he never made a big deal over it. He was sad for a few days, a week at most, but he moved on each time.
charoite: who my muse looks up to
Hardworking people who get far in their life. Many of his classmates during med school were some of the smartest people he’s ever met and he knows some of them went on to study in America to get their credentials and work there. Many of his professors throughout university too. Animals shelter owners that go out of there way to save every animals that they can and get them adopted.
chrysocolla: a money-making headcanon
Long hours. Sometimes spanning over several days. He does both group and private tours. He occasionally goes on ones outside of Seoul that go across the country, but it’s rare since he doesn’t like to leave Haru alone or have anyone else watch her often. He’ll occasionally do jobs on the side if he’s strapped on cash for the month, like pet sitting for other people in his building, delivery orders, helping people with tasks they might need done.
diamond: a sex headcanon
Dominant. Both gentle and rough. Not too experienced but experienced enough. Doesn’t really view it as anything special, and he doesn’t tie it to dating or being in love. He never saw it as a big deal either, he only sees it as something that happens when two people are physically attracted to one another and as something that feels good.
dolomite: a sleep headcanon
Generally he sleeps naked, especially in the summer, but when it’s winter and if it’s too cold he’ll wear a sweater and sweatpants. He sleeps on his side/stomach. Haru sleeps with him a lot too and he tends to cuddle her when she does. Otherwise he tends to hug a pillow against his chest, or part of his blankets.
emerald: how my muse tells someone they love them without words
Through tiny gestures, or he’ll at least try to. Sometimes you can express love through intimacy, which he might try to do, but seeing how he doesn’t connect sex and the like to love generally, he would do it otherwise. Like surprising them with meals, taking them out, helping them with anything they need…
fluorite: what my muse’s room looks like
Clean and mostly minimal. A full sized bed sits in the middle of the room, three pillows, two blankets. Bedside table with a lamp, alarm clock, usually a glass of water too. Occasionally he has other things there. He has a small shelf full of both books and textbooks, as well as important documents. There’s some knick-knacks that sit on the shelves. His desk is by the window with a lamp and a laptop sitting on it. He also has some papers on it, mostly research notes. No clothing on the floor, all tucked away in his closet or if they’re dirty, they’re in the laundry hamper. He keeps an extra pair of slippers tucked under the bed. Haru’s bed sits near the shelf.
hematite: how squeamish my muse is
Not very squeamish. He can handle blood and guts well.
hiddenite: how much of an “inner child” my muse has
Hard to say. There is a childish side to him when he’s comfortable, and he’s growing to have childish interest like video games, comics, anime/manhwa, etc., since he never got to He laughs at immature jokes. But he tries to portray himself as being as mature as possible.
iolite: my muse’s drinking habits
He doesn’t like alcohol much due to lack of experience with it and he avoids drinking, however he will drink in social situations if everyone else is drinking.
jade: if my muse would ever cheat on a partner
Never.
jasper: what my muse would be like as a parent
The opposite of his mother. While he loves her and is grateful she raised him well, he doesn’t want his child to be sheltered or restricted. He wants his child to be able to do whatever they wish to do with their life. He wants them to grow up loved and adored, with lots of friends and to have a real childhood and to everything the other kids do. He would be kind and caring, but strict and stern when he needs to be. He doesn’t want his kid to feel the way he does.
kyanite: an anger headcanon
He doesn’t get angry often, in fact it takes a lot to anger him. He’s patient but his patience has its limits. He doesn’t like being around anyone when he’s angry because he’ll take his anger/frustration out on them in words, even if they aren’t at fault. So he prefers to be alone and calm down.
lodestone: what kind of people gravitate towards my muse
Jiwon’s met all kinds of people but the ones who seem to stick to him the most are just like him, a little awkward, quiet, “nerdy” interests. He finds it easiest to get along with people like that.
malachite: what my muse as a child thought they would be when they grew up
A surgeon.
mica: what my muse views as their worst personality trait
How private he is. Because of this people tend to take it as Jiwon not letting them in/not wanting to open up ever and instead pushing them away. He doesn’t mean to but it happens a lot without noticing.
moonstone: my muse’s opinions on outer space
He thinks it’s pretty and nice to look at, but he doesn’t think it should be explored. Planets should be admired from far away, not up close. He doesn’t think scientists should try to inhabit other planets either.
mother of pearl: if my muse tends to lift people up or bring them down
He tries his absolute best to lift people up, always. He doesn’t like seeing people sad or down, or angry. He likes to cheer them up and help them in every way that he can. Sometimes though, since he’s not the best with words, he does get misunderstood.
nebula stone: how good my muse’s memory is
Good enough. He’s good at remembering faces and people, and their little quirks if he is around them enough. He’s good at remembering information which really helped him in school. He’s not good at remembering names though and he never has been, the only time he is good at it is if the person has had a large impact on his life.
opal: how creative my muse is
He likes to think that he is in terms of things to do. Artistically and musically, he’s never tried his hand at either.
pearl: a mental health headcanon
Not great but not terrible. He tries to keep positive outlooks on everything in his life but there’s a lot of factors that don’t allow him to. Some days he doesn’t and can’t face people so he keeps himself inside. He often feels paranoid if people stare at him for too long, as if they know something’s off about him. Other days he can take on the world just fine without too much worry.
petalite: what my muse would do if they found a wallet on the street
Try and find out who lost it, check for an ID. Try his best to return it if he can. He believes in good karma.
pyrite: a physical health headcanon
He’s in good health, or at least he thinks he is. He eats healthy (with the occasional unhealthy cheat days) and he works out regularly. He doesn’t go to the doctor for check ups though he knows that he should, but he’s a little too paranoid as he doesn’t want to have any blood work done, out of fear of what might be found and what the doctors might say.
quartz: how my muse thinks other people see them
Good looking and tall to strangers. He’s not really sure how people who knows him see him, but he hopes it’s nothing bad. He wants to be thought of fondly by friends.
rubellite: if my muse has any ‘triggers’ that inspire painful memories
Not really… But maybe seeing two parents with an infant or toddler might make him feel sad, and maybe bitter too. He does his best to repress everything else. Some things just can’t be forgotten though.
ruby: a happiness headcanon
Ulsan. Semi-deserted beach. Sand between his toes. Sun shining down on his skin. The humidity of summer, storm clouds off in the distance. Jellyfish sitting upon the shore. The shouts and laughter of kids off in the distance, mothers running after them to get them out of the water. It’s home, and it’s happiness.
sapphire: if everyone my muse knew was hanging off a cliff and they could only choose three to save, the rest certainly dying, who they would choose
His mother.
silver: if my muse prefers masculinity or femininity
For himself, masculinity. For other’s it really doesn’t matter. Both are nice.
tsavorite: if my muse believes in destiny or fate
No, because he’s in denial about his own destiny and fate. He wants to believe that his fate is not a grim as it’s turning out to be. He wants to believe that he’s destined to do more and be more.
verdite: my muse’s ethnicity/family history
His mother’s side is completely Korean, though there could be Chinese or Japanese in there (with the way history went and all). Father would technically be Greek, so he would technically be Greek-Korean. However he views himself as 100% Korean and so does his (mother’s) family.
zebra stone: what gets my muse excited
Similar interests. Dogs. Nice weather with the sun shining and clear skies. People actually interested in the places he takes them on tours. His mom’s cooking.
zoisite: does my muse believe everything’s going to work out for them in the end or not?
He really wants to believe so, but nothing has really worked out for him so far. He’s hoping that Seoul works out for him though and that nothing else happens. He wants to feel safe, and normal, and secure.

another rec list no one asked for
I read more good stuff, so I’m doing this again. Here’s my first rec list if you’re interested. I’m going in order from most lighthearted to most likely to have you writhing in pain, so here goes.
Cool Doji Danshi - ongoing
Or, Play It Cool, Guys
This one is not a romance, just a comedy, but it is still cute as hell.
Four guys with very different personalities have one thing in common. They're all total space cases. You know when you do something embarrassing like realizing you’re walking the wrong way and have to do an awkward 180 on the sidewalk? I try to unlock my house with my car remote on a fairly regular basis. Well that’s these guys’ entire lives. They all handle their clumsiness in different ways, and as they start to encounter each other by chance, they learn from each other’s actions, and it’s just fucking delightful.
.
Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai Vs Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko - ongoing
Or, A World Where Everything Definitely Becomes BL vs. The Man Who Definitely Doesn't Want To Be In A BL
This is not a BL (yet?), but it’s definitely for people who’ve read BL. A plain-looking man knows he lives in a BL universe, but believes himself to be a background character. Until his plain-looking younger brother gets a confession from his best friend, and our main character learns that nobody is safe. He spends his days avoiding BL tropes so he doesn’t get caught up in a BL romance.
If you like parody and meta humor, you should check this one out.
.
Karasugaoka Don’t Be Shy!! - complete
Izuhara Sou and Shinba Tetsuji are the leaders of two rival crime prevention groups (good guy gangs!). Izuhara admires Shinba, who came to his rescue once when he was a kid and inspired him to help others. However, anytime he comes face to face with Shinba, Izuhara gets nervous and acts like an asshole.
This is a short one, so I can’t say much more about it, but it’s hella cute and you should go check it out.
.
Three Men, One Chinchilla - ongoing
It’s complete in Korean (54 chapters), but only 13 chapters have been translated so far. I actually bought the raws. I paid actual money to read a comic in a language I don’t know. It was too weird for me to even guess what was going on, but it was worth it just for the facial expressions.
Ham Un comes home to find a chinchilla in front of his door, and it gets weirder from there. After finding the chinchilla, he meets the adorable Seung and the sketchy Namhae, and hilarity ensues. I don't want to spoil the experience of reading the first few chapters so I'm not gonna say anymore, but it does have supernatural elements.
Seung calls Un “Onion”, so their ship name is Seunion. No one else is talking about this comic here, so I get to make that call. This webcomic has everything you could want in a BL. Cute nicknames. Comedy. A chinchilla.
But.
It hasn’t updated in over a month. *update - This manhwa has been picked up by another group (and I’m in the group, not that that makes a difference)
.
March Third - ongoing
I think this one is complete in Chinese, like 150+ chapters, but it’s only translated up to chapter 97, and hasn’t updated in a while. I still have hope that another translator will pick it up.*
A historical comedy that follows military officer Mr. Buddha as he tries to woo the stage actor Mr. Red.
This is one of the funniest comics I’ve read, for serious. Someone suggested this one when I asked for recs similar to 19 Days, and this one is it. Don’t ask me how a historical comic set during a war is like 19 Days, it just is.
*Update: It’s been picked up! It’s translated up to 107.
.
A Strange Joke - *complete
Or, Just Kidding. I started reading under the title A Strange Joke, but I’m now reading the official English translation, and they call it Just Kidding.
Min is an unremarkable college student who is firmly in the closet. Jun is a heartthrob who, for some reason, has taken an interest in Min. Sehun is Jun’s friend who is also on all of the cover art. I’m sure he plays a major role later on. It’s only translated up to chapter 18 right now. But it’s so funny, I had to give it a mention. Min and his friends are a bunch of drunken dumbass college students in the best way, and Min is the dumbest of them all.
The official translation is on Pocket Comics, and you get a bunch of free points just for creating an account and daily gifts for logging on.
.
Fools - complete
After overhearing a fight that new student Jeongwoo had with his boyfriend, college senior Eungi finds himself becoming increasingly confused about his feelings toward Jeongwoo. Jeongwoo, meanwhile, fresh out of a long and rocky relationship, isn’t ready to act on his feelings toward Eungi. Commence awkward not-dates.
This is the most relatable depiction of the uncomfortable early stages of a romance that I’ve ever seen. It also shows how trauma from past toxic relationships can affect new, healthy ones. But it’s never too heavy-handed about it. It’s really funny at times, but also has its fair share of angst. It’s also my favorite on this list, and I adore all of these comics.
In the official English translation, their names are Edward and Justin, but I think it's weird when they do that.
Update: Fools is being remastered in full color with an updated art style, but I still recommend the original.
.
Unintentional Love Story - *complete
I’m pretty sure this one is complete in Korean, and has something like 55 chapters.
Wonyoung is fired from his job after being falsely incriminated in a corruption scandal. By sheer luck, he happens to run into the company chairman’s favorite ceramic artist, Yoon Taejun, who has been living under an alias. He’s told he will likely get his job back if he could get Taejun to partner with the company, so he tries to get close to Taejun without revealing that he knows his true identity. What he doesn’t plan on, though, is falling in love with Taejun.
This one is where the DRAMA is at. The story doesn’t ignore the fact that the relationship was built on a lie. It addresses it, and then addresses it, and as of chapter 35, is still addressing it. It hurts so good.
.
How to Hate Mate - complete
Or, Hate Mate
Two years ago, Subin drunkenly confessed his feelings to his straight roommate, Hyunwoo. After that, Hyunwoo left for his mandatory military service, and Subin hasn’t heard from him since. Just when Subin is finally ready to move on, Hyunwoo reappears and things get complicated.
Listen. Hate Mate hurt me in a big way. Don’t read this if you’re looking for the warm fuzzies, because you will not find them here. I loved this story for its realism. All the characters are seriously flawed, and even though it ended the way I hoped it would, nothing feels fully resolved. This comic will hurt you and skip the aftercare. Anyways, have fun.
.
A Shoulder to Cry On - complete
Or, Cheer Up Boy. Or, Comfort the Boy. There are too many alternate titles, but I like A Shoulder to Cry On best.
When Dayeol is framed for assault by Taehyun, he nearly loses his archery scholarship. But instead of feeling the least bit remorseful for nearly ruining Dayeol’s life, Taehyun starts to torment Dayeol even further.
So a LOT of fiction will do this thing where a character will just be truly horrible, but when their tragic backstory is revealed, they’re supposed to be absolved of all guilt. I HATE that. I hate it to the point where just introducing a tragic backstory actually makes me hate the character more, because I anticipate that happening.
That being said, Taehyun is one of the biggest assholes I’ve ever seen as a main love interest, and his backstory got to me. It made me like him, and I’m ashamed for not standing by my principals. It helps that he’s not immediately forgiven for bullying Dayeol just because he had a bad childhood, but still.
What I’m saying is that this is fucking sad and you should read it. But I’m recommending this with a big fat trigger warning for self harm.
