hiii i sent this req like last week maybe and i wasn’t sure if tumblr just tossed it into the void (tumblr mobile does this a lot unfortunately) but i also didn’t want to rush you, but just in case i’ll send it again, but sorry in advance if you’re just still working on it and i’m just impatient 🙇

i really loved the fic where reader puts 2012!april in her place, but it made me wonder what if the opposite happened :o

like what if 2012!donnie has a crush on rise!donnie’s s/o and he gets really overprotective of her (bonus if maybe even 2012!april gets jealous of the attention reader is getting)

Donnie isn't the type of person to be overly confrontational. Sure, he gets a bit cocky and he gets a bit sensitive if his abilities are ignored for others but when it came to you, oh boy.

He always felt insecure when it came to you. He'd never understand what you saw in him especially when it came to how much he loves you. You'd always shower him with compliments and gifts and he'd have a struggle simply saying that he loves you.

It didn't really help with the fact that now, he's discovered an alternate version of every single one of his brothers had an alternate version of themselves. Including him. While he bonded with this alternate version of him with their sarcastic jokes, the one thing he especially had a gripe with was his obvious infatuation with you.

Every time all of you went on a mission, he'd constantly be trying to impress you by giving you small flowers and being extremely awkward around you which you responded by thanking him and patting him on the back.

Donnie hated that, and he hated it every time his other self did that. But why? It wasn't like you were ever gonna cheat on him. Even when he tried to escape by scrolling through his phone, the lingering thought still bothered his mind.

"Sigh... Why must my brain focus on this singular thought?" he thought, throwing his head back in defeat and sinking further into the beanbag. As he kept sighing in frustration, he saw an upside-down Donnie tinkering with a tiny machine box and turning a lever around and around before it played a soft melody and closed it with a cheery grin on his face and walked into a room. More importantly, your room.

Curious, because of course Donnie would be curious, he quietly crept up to your room, pressing his ear against the wooden door.

"H-Hey Y/N!"

"Oh, hey Other Donnie! Whatcha got there?"

"Oh, t-this? This is actually... for you."

Then, a small melody echoed throughout the room before being promptly shut.

"Other Donnie, this is so thoughtful! Thank you so much!"

"No problem! I'm happy to make more of my gadgets for you!"

Oh, that simple statement might seem like nothing to others but to Donnie, it made his mind run a marathon. It immediately got his mind overthinking every single possibility that could've happened after that. I mean, he would always do the exact same thing, always giving you little gifts or small tech gadgets; that's how he showed his love but now that someone else was doing the exact same thing and garnering the same reaction, it felt like seeing someone doing the exact same thing as you only better. And it hurt. It hurt bad.

"Hey, 'Tello! Where are you?" you asked, searching and scouring through every room until you spotted a dim light seeping through the curtains of a gigantic lab. Knocking rhythmically on the door, you quickly sneaked into the dark lab, making sure that the bright lights of the lair didn't dare try to escape. As usual, Donnie was hunched over, full goggles covering his eyes, prodding and twiddling with some wires and screwdrivers.

You waltzed in front of the workbench he was currently working at and placed your hand on your forehead before moving it away, signalling a quick hello.

"Hello? You alright?" you asked, pointing at him before sliding your hand on top of your other hand. He had barely even flinched.

"Yes. I'm simply working on my world-genius inventions which are of superb quality, by the way."

"Of course they are, you're the one who's making them," you chuckled, examining the contraption he was creating. "Speaking of said invention, what exactly are you making?"

"Well, I am making my high-quality tech gadget that is actually meant for you so, if I may ask, please avert your eyes."

"Alright, you're the inventor," you said, playfully raising your hands halfway and exiting the lab until a loud slamming of a door introduced another new participant. It was Other Donnie again, awkwardly twiddling his fingers as Donnie practically was trying to test how many death stares he can give to them in a single second.

"Hello Y- oh, sorry I thought you were Y/N. I'm trying to find them," he said.

"Don't worry, they've made their way out already," Donnie said, making eye contact with a defeated Other Donnie's face. "And honestly it's pathetic to see an alternate version of me like this."

"W-what? Pathetic?"

"Yes. Pathetic. Because Y/N is taken. By me."

Silence filled the entire lab as Other Donnie's face morphed into a face of devastation, the cold hum of the air conditioner filling the ambience. All Donnie did was get up from his workstation and awkwardly put his hand on his other self's shoulder.

"Now, leave. Please and don’t try to charm them again."

As Other Donnie quickly left, Donnie heard a quiet gasp come from the door as you waltzed back into the lab with a shocked grin on your face.

“Donatello, were you just jealous?”

“You know I don’t like it when an alternate version of me tries you steal you! Even though you are the most attractive being I’ve seen, it’s still maddening..”

“Yeah, alright.” you smugly said, as the crazed turtle began his inane ramblings once more. Even though to others, it would be pure hell to listen to, you wouldn’t trade it for the world.
