Is “transandrobabies” really another term people are trying out to deride trans men and mascs speaking on our oppression?
Really?
When one of the things we constantly talk about is that we are infantilized to hell and back?
Actually?
I am… y’know. I wish I could say I was surprised. But at this point I’m not. This is not what genuine criticism of transmasc theory looks like, it’s not ever done a good job being dressed up to pretend that way, and the people coming up with these terms of derision absolutely know what they’re doing.

do people who use TMRA to discredit trans men not realize that theyre literally one letter off from the TRA acronym TERFs use??? (which they use to imply that all trans people (and their supporters) are equivalently harmful to feminism as actual MRAs)
It’s funny bc they do genuinely use it in a similar way. You’re telling me you think this group of trans people fighting their oppression is actually complaining abt nonsense problems to hide the fact that they oppress all women despite being gender minorities hm. But we’re the ones that sound like radfems? You’ll never be normal about all trans people if you can’t avoid being radfemmy about men, acting like they can have zero problems despite being trans and that they’re tainted and unsafe due to their maleness.

It is purrhaps time to acknowledge that a lot of myths about transmasc ""safety"" within broader cis society was just coming from transmasc erasure. We weren't safer, or had easier lives, we were just ignored when we suffered.
Now there's even a hint of transmasc awareness rising, it's not surprising there's backlash against us. If you've spent your live believing that transmascs have it "easier" than women, it's easy to be angry at us. much simpler than confronting your own prejudices!

In light of the new list being made, I thought I'd celebrate with this new graphic! Use it for whatever non-commercial use you like. No need to credit me unless you want to :)

Society if SOME trans people stopped thinking being trans gives them a free pass to be transphobic to other trans people they don't like or agree with:

Transandrophobia "Truther" this, transandrophobia "truther" that; can y'all at least voice your hatred without using antisemitic dogwhistles and sounding like a conspiracy theorist?

not aspec but thanks for publicly talking about being proship. i'm VERY proship, have been before it got that term & always will be. sadly i've seen the the harassment it brings online from anti's and they've made me terrified of speaking up about it online (even though it is something i'm passionate about and wish i could talk about). so thanks for being a voice for those of us who have been scared into silence
(feel free not to post this on your blog as it's not exactly 'on theme'. i just wanted to express my gratitude)
First of, apologies to the other recent anon who I thus far “ignore” because I don’t have the spoons to do your ask justice
Anon, I have also always been proship and was actually appalled when I saw what anti shippers are doing. Which, incidentally, was also the first time I really realised how bad it’s gotten
Today’s reblogging-spree is actually because I got a new follower who has “proshippers DNI” at the top of their blog description and I was like “okay, either I block them or I gently tell them to get off my blog”
So basically those reblogs where a wave with the fence post (German idiom)
PSA: if you in general think you are allowed to police any one person’s identity/ self-expression, other than your very own,
Or are any other kind of bigot…
kindly fuck off
Like, I don’t know how many announcements about this I have made but my stance on all this isn’t going to change
This blog doesn’t have a DNI beyond terfs and aphobes but if you have a DNI, please assume I’m on it!

the way transandrophobic people try to use the term "TMRA" to discredit trans men and mascs talking about the oppression they experience is a little funny i think
(obviously its also shitty of them but id rather laugh at bigots)
like yeah i believe trans men should have rights. do you not 🤨?
Yeah lol I don’t personally reclaim the TMRA thing but like. Yeah I am an activist for trans men and their rights, what of it. You realize that “cis men are systemically oppressed by women” and “trans men are systemically oppressed by cis people” are different sentences right.

I do think a lot of people have used "transandrophobia" to describe transphobia they have personally experienced rather than specifically transmasc-specific intersection (which im not really mad about because a lot of the time it's transmascs who really need to be able to talk about their experiences and be supported) but like. ive also seen people do that exact thing with transmisogny. ive seen transfems refer to misgendering as transmisogyny even though that's not specific to transfems. I don't think some people using transandrophobia to describe things personal experiences of "generic transphobia" erases the effort people have put in to examining the intersections of transphobia misogyny and antimasculism.

Trans mascs are forming a community and sharing knowledge and loving ourselves and each other and there's nothing you can do about it. You're powerless to stop us, and you always will be.

Consistently referring to Specifically transmasculine people as 'afabs' will read as misgendering to me. I don't care who you are.
Telling us we can't use certain words to describe ourselves and our identities is actively breaking us away from communities that we have been a healthy part of for decades.
I just get frustrated because it feels like we can't win with some people. I feel like we're seen as either whiny, troubled, mentally ill females who have no critical thinking skills or we are seen as grotesque, boorish, appropriators of masculinity and traitors to the feminist queer community. Often, it is both.
I just get so sick of it. I feel especially betrayed when it's other trans people perpetuating these ideas, whether they intend to or not.
Just because you're a trans person doesn't mean you're not capable of spreading transphobia. Really think about whether what you're saying is coming from a place of hurt or from a place of actually wanting to improve the community. Because from here, it just looks like most of these people who scream 'truthers' want a punching bag and get mad when we won't be that for them.
It's not even worth fighting with people. They will always find some way to paint you as the bad guy. You can't argue with anger and hurt.
