can I ask some of what youve been up to? (if its not overstepping) not just what have you been working on, but what have you been doing that you enjoy? what have you been playing? watching? reading? that sort of thing! glad to hear that youre back and okay ❤️
Sure! I don't feel like that's overstepping. Here you go:
(as far as writing goes) I've mostly been working on Zorlok but I've also done some writing for a sapphic novel idea I've been working on for a while, my other projects like System Processing, Hades' Kitchen, etc., a short interactive poem about misgendering/trans experience, and a couple other random things
What I've enjoyed? Spending a lot of time with my dog, going on long walks, chilling in coffee shops, baking, crafting, long-distance running and lifting, etc.
Playing: Baldur's Gate 3 (may have close to 500 hours in that game, but most of that's from Early Access, don't be too concerned), Octopath Traveler 2, Coral Island, Stardew Valley, Super Smash Bros. (that last one was for work though)
Watching: Jeopardy (always), everything on Dropout but especially Dimension 20, Our Flag Means Death, Youtube video essays, the BG3 cast playing BG3, 80s horror movies, film noir, that's all I can think of right now
Reading: The Locked Tomb series, Legends and Lattes, All Systems Red, The Wicked Bargain (specifically, the audiobook narrated by the Vico Ortiz), The Princess and the Grilled Cheese, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, and dozens of children's books

I watched all 3 Night at the Museum movies!
1. I liked all 3 movies, they were all good!
2. They were all really funny, I laughed a lot!
- Favourite movie:
Hard to tell, but I maybe the second one. Yeah I guess I liked that one best.
- Favourite Character(s):
Jedediah! He's such a cool cowboy and such a buddy you could hang out and really have a good time with him. He's def the one who invites his friends to the saloon (imagine him and Octavius at the Saloon). And of course, I know he hates it (sorry, Jed) he's tiny and cute and I would totally cuddle and kiss him and adore him because he's a small figurine! (@professional-termite would snatch him and run away because tinyyyyy boiiii)
Very close second is Akmenrah! He is a very distinguished, elegant son of a pharao and he is really kindhearted. I like him.
Teddy Rosewelt! He is so caring and such a father to everyone it's heartmelting. Robin Williams, may he rest in peace, was the perfect cast for him because, well, that's how I always saw Robin Williams. As a loving, caring father who encourages others and wants to make everyone feel special and who is there for others when they have a problem (maybe because he was always casted for these roles?).
- Favourite relationship(s):
Larry's and Jedediah's friendship! They are such bros and they really care for each other, it's so cute!
Jedediah's and Octavius' friendship! I know you ship them, and I totally understand why. I see it. But for me it's more like Jed and Octavius ARE a little in love with each other, and maybe would want to make out BUT also don't want to change their relationship so they decide to be bros. It's bromance. Brotherhood with a romantic touch (That's just how I see it please don't kill me!!!).
The exhibits and Larry growing to a big found family!
- What I liked:
The opening scene of Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb
How natm 3 adressed the "returndiscussion" (as we call it in Germany). It might never went beneath the surface (which is indeed a bit of a pity but it's okay), but still it adressed and paid attention to it. And that's important because this has become a thing for museums nowadays (gonna put this in a seperate post for further discussion/explanation)
The whole lore/story arch about the tablet
Jed and Octavius in Pompeii (I just wish it wouldn't have been by the time it went down because they were finally in a place in the right size for them and they would have really enjoyed Roman citylife, especially Octavius, he almost felt home there)
The opening show for the new planetarium because it's magical (I just wish it wouldn't have been interrupted by the tablet loosing it's magic causing everyone to glitch)
Amelia Earheart's adventurous spirit (she's just an AU Giselle, not only, but mostly because it's Amy Adams)
Abraham Lincoln (I wish he and Teddy had met!)
Dick van Dyke! It's always a pleasure seeing him so this was a nice surprise. Pretty sure it was the best day of their life for the residents of the retirement home when Dick van Dyke came in to dance with them to "Shake your booty".
Everytime Dexter was cute with Larry or anyone else (hugs!!)
Akmenrah's mum, she is pretty
Ben Kingsley playing Akmenrah's dad (that wasn't the only time Ben played a pharao, right? He played a pharao in another movie? Can't put my finger on it rn)
Akmenrah being together with mumy and daddy after 4,000 (?) years
All 3 movies ending with a party - creates a full circle
The Night at the Museum main theme (epic!)
The little bird-thingy before the xiangliu (forgot it's name but it's cute)
Somebody listening to Abba's Dancing Queen on the bus
Jed and Octavius using the internet/phones (the machine for the comments! Commentmachine!)
- What I didn't like:
Everytime Dexter was peeing on somebody/something (Ewwww!)
Everytime Dexter was mischivious
The way the museum director was depicted (seriously, what was that? Messiest character arch ever - if there even WAS a character arch?)
The solution to the problem with the tablet (for real guys that thing looses it's magic and all it takes to fix is to put it in MOONLIGHT?! Okay then how about you put it on the roof of the museum like a solar panel so it can charge like a glow in the dark sticker everytime the moon shines on a starry night?)
The museum director holding the tablet at the end of natm 3 whilst grinning like Dexter (seriously, after what we've seen from him, he knows what the tablet can do - which is no longer in HIS museum - and you're telling me he's not up to SOMETHING?? I'm not buying it.)
The tablet staying in the British Museum (I know they want Akmenrah and his parents to be together and I really like it BUT how do you explain this to the Museum? "Oh, we're leaving the mummy and it's tablet here, you know, the mummy's their son so we think it's nice for the family to be united. They might be very precious artefacts but we'll present them to you. You can have them.")
The ceremony being interrupted by the corroding tablet which caused the exhibits to glitch (this was the ONLY! moment of glory for Larry and the exhibits in public and it turned into a disaster - heartless filmmakers!)
Tilly's and Larry's cringey talk when we first meet her (annoying! Also, her name is Tilly... Jennifer Tilly namedrop here!)
Jed being picked up like a kitten (ruuuude!! And humilliating!)
- What I found hilarious:
The notion of dinosaurs just being doggos who want to catch sticks might not be historically accurat but it's totally funny
The cuts everytime Jed and/or Octavius did something epic to demonstrate how small they actually are (although it's a bit rude)
Octavius in the pillory and Jed watching it like "ooh"😎 by the time the sun has come up so they stand there until the sun goes down
Abraham Lincoln snatching Kamunrah's army as if they were pigeons and them disapearing to where they came from just like "Nah. We're out."
Jed in the cage like a little birdy (although I feel sorry for him but he looks just like a little titmouse in there - yeah, @professional-termite : snatched again!!)

Some of the resentment I've seen of FCG's coin feels like it stems from viewing FCG as less a character than a vehicle for Sam to do bits. They view the coin as Sam doing a bit that isn't landing and is taking up time and space that could go to the actual characters in the group that have stories instead of what they view as a bunch of disconnected jokes. I saw this with FCG going into the Grand Ring, too. People on Twitter saying that that was Sam trying to get the group killed for a laugh.
Truly I have to believe there is either one server or just like...a bunch of very stupid people who all follow each other and parrot each other's takes because the reaction to the Grand Disk especially is absolutely batshit fucking nuts:
If you give a heroic adventurer a weird noise, they are probably going to investigate it. If they investigate it, they are probably going to check it out. If FCG hadn't run in, someone else would have.
This show has been on for literally 8 years now and there has never been a main campaign TPK. Truly the Otohan fight is the only one where I take serious issue with the balance and signaling, and even then, so what, half the party died, they fixed it. Why is this fight different from all other fights?
On top of that this happened before we knew resurrection was broken, too, so like, the reaction during the episode truly makes no sense; the audience knowledge was that this party has THREE people who have revivify and two with Raise Dead and only one true glass cannon. They are arguably better positioned to take on threats than like, Bells Hells the regular party.
If a character dies the cast member will play another character and just based on the track record of past replacement characters the chances are high that they will be just as good if not better. If you don't want to watch a show in which permanent character death is an option then go do that.
I have, recently, actively tried to push back on the "bro do you even play TTRPGs" attitude people sometimes have regarding really stupid criticism, and to be fair this is narrative criticism too but like...unless a TPK is explicitly the goal or baked into the setting as a possibility (eg: Calamity; Neverafter; games designed for it like the Tomb of Horrors module or Call of Cthulhu or something) the GM absolutely does not want a TPK. Do you know how much fucking PAPERWORK is wasted in a TPK. If they had a TPK Matt would have had to look at an entire encounter and backstory regarding, say, Oltgar and Drixlitch, that he had lovingly designed, and go "well, guess that's fucked."
So anyway if you saw FCG go through the gates and your thought was not "ooh, combat" but rather "this will be a TPK" idk work on your breathing exercises or something because that's a wild leap.
Anyway the funniest thing in all of this is that the most recent episode made it clear that it's not just a bit. Also though it's like. Which "actual" characters? Chetney has been pretty decently served as a character, all things considered; the entire solstice plot revolves around Imogen so it's time for Laura to get a well-deserved break so Imogen can actually process and develop as a person rather than just be under constant nonstop stress; I love Fearne but this arc is just not really about her whole deal; and both FRIDA and Deanna have gotten plenty to do. Honestly while balance between characters is not really a thing in the sense that some people make D&D characters with tons of hooks and things to do and paths to take and some do not, and also the overall narrative of the party is important to consider*, the character balance of this particular arc has been the best of the whole campaign.
*most people get this intuitively UNLESS they are particularly stupid, or have either shipping or My Blorbo Is The Protagonist brainrot, to the point that you can diagnose these conditions when someone's previously decent understanding of story falls off a cliff

for the ask thing
rhea
favorite thing about them
oh god. where do i start. she's so fucked up and she's so hot. she's an absolute mess on every level. my daughter who has every disease. my poor little meow meow. she did everything wrong and i love her for it. she's so bad and it makes me want to clap my hands and rub them together with glee. all of the rest of my answers to this meme are my favorite thing about her
least favorite thing about them
the fandom
aside from that, her lack of relevance in azure moon sucks. i'm glad that at least she got more focus in azure gleam, as much of a cursed route as that was, if only because it just makes it so obvious how incredibly and delightfully toxic rhea has been for fodlan and its people
favorite line
every line rhea gets is just fucking. so good. cherami leigh is perfectly cast in the english dub. her lines are dripping with menace when they need to be, unsettling when they need to be, and vulnerable exactly when they need to be. every fucking line she gets in cf is just so, so good and the voice acting brings it all to life perfectly.
rhea's lines when byleth chooses to protect edelgard in the holy tomb are my favorite. especially the sheer contempt you can hear in "you are just another failure"
chills every time. the truth comes out there. exactly how she sees byleth and exactly how she sees humanity as a whole
brOTP
one of the fascinating things about rhea is that nobody is on an equal footing to her. not seteth or flayn, her fellow nabateans, whom she never answers to for any of the decisions she makes, despite seteth being nominally her advisor. not catherine or jeralt, who were brought under her wing in exchange for their servitude as knights, one of whom was successfully groomed by her and one of whom wasn't and got out while he still had a chance.
honestly cyril is the only human character in the game that rhea doesn't appear to have a purely transactional relationship with, and... he's a child. a child who cleans her room and does chores for her. okay that's pretty transactional now that i think about it.
so, given that rhea doesn't have anyone she can be bros with, my brotp for rhea is...
rhea/catherine. you get the more wholesome ending of a deposed rhea retreating from the world and catherine looking after her, which is quite bittersweet. but you can also be delightfully fucked up with it. imagine if cf ended with the black eagle strike force being routed in fhirdiad and fresh off a decisive church victory over the empire catherine had to live with the thousands of civilians she'd murdered on rhea's orders, with nowhere to go but deeper into rhea's arms. hhhhhhhhhh
OTP
i don't think rhea is capable of having a healthy romantic or sexual relationship with any other playable character in the game (she might have had one with wilhelm, but that was 1000 years ago), but a relationship doesn't have to be healthy to be incredibly fascinating and compelling. that is why my rhea otp is rhea and cf!dimitri. the feedback loop of bloodthirsty revenge they would enforce for each other would be fun to watch... from several miles away.
nOTP
rhea/byleth. like... rhea outright doesn't see byleth as a person (in stark contrast to the other humans in her life, who she at least understands are people and not merely vessels) until the end of ss/vw and tried to erase their entire identity without their foreknowledge or consent. that's not something i can ship. i can fantasize about how fucked up it is i guess but as a ship? nah
also rhea/edelgard is one of those ships which i like mainly for horny reasons but under certain circumstances it goes instantly to squick. and it's a fine line but a line nonetheless.
random headcanon
this isn't so much of a headcanon as it is an interpretation of sothis' characterization through her behavior in 3 hopes, but i believe that sothis felt no affection for the nabateans she created; they were just tools to her, and she cared about them as much as a paperclip maximizer cares about the paperclips it makes. and that makes it extra tragic for rhea, who wastes her entire life after slaying nemesis trying to recapture a maternal love that only really existed in her own head.
gives me real nier automata vibes. isn't that hilarious? doesn't it make you laugh?
unpopular opinion
rhea is the villain everyone accuses edelgard of being. she's a sympathetic and fascinating character, but at the end of the day she's an alien colonizer who spent 1000 years fucking up an entire continent. and she didn't have to be any of those things. you know it. i know it. she knows it
song i associate with them
youtube
See these eyes so green I can stare for a thousand years Colder than the moon
It's been so long
Feel my blood enraged It's just the fear of losing you Don't you know my name?
You've been so long
And I've been putting out the fire with gasoline
favorite picture of them

Should the Justice Society leave the DCEU and join the DCU?
Tumblr media
While I may have reservations about the shake-up at Warner Bros, I am very excited about the DCU, and Peter Safran and James Gunn will likely bring the audience back in favor of Warner Bros. Discovery. However, and yes, I'm about to sound like a broken record again, I am worried for the Justice Society of America, aka JSA, which first entered the DCEU and appeared in the 2020 Black Adam film, which was something of a spin-off from the 2019 Shazam film. Say what you will, but the team of the Justice Society of America was one of the film's best parts. I know they were a lot of ups and downs (mostly downs I hear on the web) in the movie, but it was entertaining to see the fight scenes the characters had with Black Adam, who, if you didn't know, was portrayed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Get ready for minor spoilers.
The Justice Society was first introduced in the comics in the Winter of 1940 to 1941. All-Star Comics #3, published by All-American Publications then, was written by Gardner Fox and edited by Sheldon Mayer during what was considered the Golden Age of comic books. The Justice Society was the first team of superheroes in comic books. The group initially included: Doctor Fate, Hour-Man, aka Rex Tyler, and the Spectre, aka Jim Corrigan. The Sandman, aka Wesley Bernard "Wes" Dodds, the Atom. Flash, aka Jay Garrick, Green Lantern, aka Alan Scott, and Hawkman.
He is the hero Hawkman, a winged guardian entrusted by Nth Metal armor. In the comics, Hawkman is an archaeologist and an alien Thanagarian who has been reincarnated thousands of times through a curse. Every time he is born again, he must walk the earth till he encounters again with his everlasting soul mate. But shortly as he and his soulmate, Shiera Sanders Hall, aka Hawkgirl, develop a deep bind, they are fated to be slain again, and it persists.
As for Doctor Fate, well, in the comics decades ago, before World War II, a twelve-year-old Kent Nelson tracked his father, Sven Nelson, into the Valley of Ur. His father had been hit with a prophetic dream sometime earlier, a vision of an ancient tomb belonging to an extra-terrestrial wizard. When Kent encounters the wizard known as Nabu, he pushes Kent to press down on a nearby lever, casting a toxic gas extinguishing his father.
Nabu soon overflowed Kent's mind with mystifying knowledge and reconstructed him to his physical and mental peaks, changing him into a being of pure order. Nabu then showed Kent the helmet of fate, and the two became great heroes and forces for order within the universe.
Cyclone, on the other hand, is a 19-year-old student at Harvard University and an avid lover of the works of L. Frank Baum, particularly The Wizard of Oz. She is also the granddaughter of Abigail "Ma" Hunkel, an honorary member of the Justice Society who served as the original Red Tornado and is presently a caregiver of the Justice Society of America's headquarters. When Maxine was young, she idolized her grandmother's allies in the JSA.
Then there is Atom-Smasher, the godson of Al Pratt, the Golden Age Atom, Albert Rothstein, received his metahuman abilities of super strength and control over his molecular structure, letting him modify his height and density body, from his grandfather, a dubious supervillain known as Cyclotron. When he was younger, he went by the name Nuklon and was a charter member of Infinity, Inc., and later functioned in the Justice League. He has been deemed a reliable but somewhat unconfident and uncertain superhero in Infinity, Inc. He had a mohawk haircut during this time. While in the JLA, he developed a strong friendship with fellow former Infinity Inc.
In the film, the team was currently condensed in the roster and consisted of Hawkman, aka Carter Hall, whom Aldis Hodge portrayed. Albert "Al" Rothstein, aka Atom Smasher, was portrayed by Noah Centineo, Cyclone, Maxine Hunkel, Quintessa Swindell, and Doctor Fate; Kent Nelson was performed by Pierce Brosnan, whose performance I thought was the highlight of the film.
After hearing about Black Adam, US government official, and Argus director Amanda Waller called Hawkman, the team's de facto leader, and tasked him to assemble a crew and bring Black Adam into custody. Hawkman then forms the team, which seems to be the group's reappearance, which once featured known members himself, The Savage Hawkman, the Golden Age Doctor Fate, and the Mighty Mite The Atom, who was also the uncle of Atom Smasher.
As you can imagine, the team's first encounter against Black Adam was met with hostile intentions between the JSA and Black Adam. The group manages to stop Adam for a while before he escapes to the ruins of Anh-Kot's palace. During the fight, fate learns that Adrianna is an archeologist who freed Black Adam. The JSA asks Adrianna to give them the crown, but she refuses until they reveal to her the truth that Adam was the one who lost control of his ability five thousand years ago and annihilated the Khandaq palace in his revenge for the king, who killed his family, seeking power at the time.
However, now I'm getting off-topic. In short, aside from the fight with Black Adam, one of the other spotlights of the film was from Hawkman's mansion to the secret underground base where they held Hawkman's jet, the Hawk Cruiser. Even the bantering and camaraderie between the team and Atom Smasher getting in trouble with Hawkman more than once.
My only complaint was that we didn't get more of the team dynamic and that they weren't the story's focus, which I know would be odd as the film was about Black Adam. And unfortunately, not the JSA.
Now that the DC film franchise is getting an overhaul and reboot of a slate of new films and TV shows whose to same this version of the JSA will appear, which would be a shame as the heroes seemed just to be getting their feet wet.
I haven't always been the most loyal fan of the Justice Society, but after watching the Black Adam film, I have been warming myself up with the team, even with their comic book counterparts. I'd like to see more of the Justice Society, but I want to know if the team will still be around after the characters' reshuffle at DC Studios. Viola Davis plans to portray Amanda Waller so that she may require the services of the Justice Society of America. But who knows? What were your thoughts on the team in the Black Adam film? Did you have a favorite part of the movie? Which JSA would you like to see in a standalone film? Well, that's it for now. Until then, Venture Onward.

ELEMENTS OF TEYVAT.
bold for what always applies, italic for ‘sometimes’ or ‘in certain verses’.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANEMO
a sense of restlessness. a wish upon a dandelion seed. well-worn walking boots. the taste of sweet white wine. a bird’s wings outstretched in flight. unable to sit still for long. a notebook filled with poetry. seeking solitude to think. a tendency towards pushing oneself too hard for the sake of others. a scrapbook filled with photographs of places travelled to. happy whistling in the morning. a clear blue sky. the wind ruffling through your hair. the sleeplessness that comes from having too much and nothing to do all at once. the smell of freshly cut grass in the summer. four-leaf clover. grapes ripening on the vine. a spinning compass. the tune of a song you have forgotten the words to long ago. hiding your pain behind a smile. our greatest duty is to others.
GEO
as solid and dependable as foundations of stone. wondering about those who walked this road before you. an unshakeable will. statues weathered by the passing of time. glimmering jewels. golden opulence. solemn memories. respecting tradition, yet not bound by it. oral legends passed down through families. the silence of a tomb. dusty old books. pleasantly fragrant tea. candles flickering at the altar. perfectly cut jade. the softness of expensive silk. hearth and home. stronger than you look. lilies blooming under the full moon. the smell of a hearty meal served by a loved one. a night at the opera. a story told over dinner amongst friends. ornate chopsticks. sunrise over distant peaks. those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
ELECTRO
a preference for familiar routine. sakura blossoms drifting on a gentle breeze. troubled thoughts, darkening clouds. fireworks bursting across the summer night’s sky. the sweetness of candy on the tongue. each day like the one before it. peacefully reading under a tree. a remarkable person thought strange by many. wits as sharp as a blade. afraid of what the future holds. crumbling like a castle of sand. a sudden growl of thunder to interrupt a previously pleasant afternoon. strict adherence to the rules of tradition. desperately trying to hold on to a fleeting dream. fearful of your own potential. an explosive temper. the calm before the storm. relentless in pursuit of your goals. absolute clarity of vision. turning of the hourglass. the only true ending is being forgotten.
DENDRO
wandering barefoot in the grass. hands cupped around fresh garden soil. a crown of wildflowers. sun-kissed skin. freckles like a constellation. grass-stained clothes. the background noise of chatter in a busy market. strong roots in unstable ground. the woods are lovely, dark and deep. the fresh scent of crushed medicinal herbs. often preferring plants to people. finding joy in causing a garden to bloom. always knowing things that others don’t. heart like an open book around those who matter. burdened by all that knowledge. advocating growth. trading in secrets. grieving the agony of the earth. green-fingered. a bath filled with flower petals. knows how to kill you with 20 different poisons. loves even the most ugly of blooms. full of childlike wonder. the flower that blooms in adversity. be less the innocent flower, and more the viper underneath it.
HYDRO
scent of the first spring rain. as swift and graceful as the river. a taste of salt: the sea or one’s own tears?. moonlight on the surface of a lake. footprints laid out before you in the sand. hearing the waves when you hold a seashell to your ear. a singular cause that means everything. a torrent of grief that threatens to drag you under. shimmering fish-scales. small stones cast huge ripples. the courage it takes to do what is right. fate is a force more powerful than the will of gods or man. firm and resolute. the call of the tides. feeling always somehow inadequate. the sea is both a cradle and a tomb. a quiet pride in one’s accomplishments. a sense of justice that can’t be broken. intent on communication: even if you’re saying what they don’t want to hear. keeping your promises. always the first one to step forward. preferring night to day. starlight, star-bright.
PYRO
fist raised in protest. was studying the blade while everyone else was busy getting laid. clash of steel upon steel. the sweat of one’s brow and the strength of one’s back. iron heart, iron will. black-ash sand. burning in righteous fury for past wrongs. blazing creativity. passion as hot as the unrelenting sun. light up the night. bloody knuckles. molten lava. the strong one for the sake of others. merry laughter. often misunderstood. loving and hating fiercely. the smoke of the forge. hammer and tongs. the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. raising your voice where it counts. sunburned shoulders. fire-red hair. a drink between friends before the battle begins. relentless hope despite everything. anger forged in the fires of past trauma. never hide your light from others. loud, but kind. i can’t carry it for you, but i can carry you.
CRYO
the crown weighs so heavy. softly falling snow. mountain peaks under a frosty twilight. a cold and cautious exterior to shield your broken heart. a feeling like you just don’t belong. desperately reaching out for love that never comes. a chill so deep it makes your bones ache. breath misting in the air. catching snowflakes on your tongue. it must never happen again. tear trails still frozen on your cheeks. the beauty of a snowflake. the snow queen was always your favourite fairy-tale. some things you just can’t speak about. cruelly crushed innocence. pushing others away, even though you really want to let them in. eerily echoing bells, slow as a funeral toll. empty halls once filled with laughter. a photograph hidden in a drawer. a rose wilting in a sudden snap frost.

That one behind-the-scenes footage where Zhu Yi Long and Chen Minghao are messing around with each other in-character and Chen Minghao’s pretending to be offended like ‘Hey. Are we still friends, yes or no??’ And Zhu Yi Long retorts on the beat ‘No.’ Then you hear this really soft and almost off-camera Huang Junjie, who goes ‘We’re brothers’ And Zhu Yi Long and Chen Minghao are both like ‘Eheh.’ ‘Eheheh good one. We’re brothers’
That’s the cutest shit ever

Chinese bl dramas for those who loved The Untamed.
I watch a lot of Asian dramas and thought that since Chinese (b)romance (it’s so bro it’s gay) dramas are becoming more popular since the untamed joined Netflix, I thought I’d recommend some more for people to watch. These are some I really enjoyed. Hope you enjoy them too.
Word of honor. It’s already on Netflix. Amazingly well done. The plot twists are amazing and the main characters are soulmates. There is seven minute epilogue episode that is not on Netflix, so you will want to watch that.
Love is more than a word. Short 12 episode drama on YouTube with English subtitles. Very well done and the characters are really endearing and their romance is amazing.
Till Death tear us apart. Has the exact same cast as the one above^. If you watch that one first then Till death tear us apart then it’s like they have been reincarnated. Amazing romance set in the communist revolution. Extremely well acted and amazing costumes. On YouTube.
The silent criminal. Enemies to (b)romance. Criminal joins up with a soldier trying to find a hidden weapon. Funny and adorable. On Viki.
Winter Begonia. Love between a rich man and a male Chinese opera singer. There is such a good build up in their relationship. On YouTube with eng subs.
My roommate is a detective. (Not a bl unfortunately but still fruity) Hilarious main character. (B)romance between the detective and the chief of police. Sherlock Holmes inspired drama set in the 1920s. On Viki.
Oh my General. Straight main couple but explores ideas of femininity and Masculinity. Female is a badass general and the male is a beautiful spoiled city boy. Funny and dynamic. On Viki.
Guardian. Like The untamed and Word of honor, a (b)romance based off a bl book. Fantasy show set in the modern era with funny characters and good mysteries. On Viki.
Arsenal Military academy. (Not a bl but fruity anyway). Girl dresses as a boy to attend a military school. Set in the 20s. A lot of bromance and guys having a crises like Shang from Mulan. On Viki.
Advance bravely. Has Gong Jun from Word of honor. Another (b)romance based of a bl book. The main characters have good chemistry and a funny dynamic. Side couples are also interesting. Ends a bit ambiguously. Set in modern era. On Dailymotion.
Painted skin: the guo jingming edition. Fantasy based short film. Poignant and beautiful. On dailymotion.
Wuliang. 30 minute short movie. Amazingly done. Really well done despite its shortness. Has the same actors play the male leads as Painted Skin. If you watch that first you can view them both as reincarnation. So beautiful and emotional. On Dailymotion.
The Ying Yang master: Dream of eternity. Same director as the two short films above. Chinese fantasy film not to be confused with the other Ying Yang master film. Amazing with a enemies to Bromance with a beautiful film style. Full of action and intrigue and a tragic romance. On Netflix.
The lost tomb. (There’s various dramas of this name, five and then a reboot. They’re all based off the same books and I recommend them all). Found family with an immortal man and they go on Tomb Raider style avengers. Gay undertones but not canon. On Viki.
Under the skin. A crime drama where a artist joins the police force. Enemies to brothers relationship (though I wish it was more gay). Really interesting and great cases. On Viki.
League of noblemen. Historical murder mystery drama with a Sherlock Holmes type character. Very beautifully filmed but I am still confused over who the Male Lead is in love with cause they guy has three love interests.
