Lol you know what the TrisTheon is ahahfh. For everyone else reading: its an AU where Tris goes with Theon to Winterfell, they kinda develop a stressed out fwb relationship there, and Ramsay used that against them when they're captured, lets try to post a slightly less graphic bit:

He doesn't know many prayers - his mother taught him the silent ways of Lonely Light, not those approved by the priests, and Baelor Blacktyde stopped praying to the Drowned God the day his father died. 

Those he does remember he says under the whip, and it feels like every word is erased from his mind as soon as it's spoken, until all he can say is <i> What is dead may never die </i>, over and over again. It makes them angrier than anything else he said, even more than when he still had courage to call them mad beasts and turncloaks, but for that it feels like it has power. Every time they take a bit of skin he imagines shedding all his scales, not like a fish but like a snake, leaving a brand new creature beneath, and he can imagine rising again.

Birthday Thyra: that was supposed to be your birthday gift and then to be battleship Word count boss fodder and I could finish It for neither lol. I have about 3k of it and its a classic Theon and Kyra run away from the Dreadfort together thingie. A snippet:

She lets him stew for just a little before she huddles back-to-back to him, the cloak thrown over both as best as can be done. He squeezes his eyes shut and tries not to picture how very easily now, if he hadn’t fucked everything up, she could be wrapped around him and laying her head on his shoulder. He had been ashamed of how much he liked being held by her, back in lord Stark’s fucking bed, musing that the child was there and he was at a point of disgrace where he couldn’t exclude the gods to give him back his voice just in time to gossip about his frailty to the entire North, that the ironborn were used to ships and unaccustomed to knocking. Fully convinced the fucking army at war’s chief concern while he was leading them to their deaths was to pry into his fucking bedchamber.

Any concerns he had conceived when he had all his skin and a warm fireplace feel very far away now and immaterial, regardless of what danger had actually been there. It’s hard to evade the thought that when he was there and could have appreciated it, he should have drawn Kyra’s arms tighter around himself and showered them with kisses and perhaps even wept, though he probably didn’t feel like it then as he does now.

Yeah thou counterfeitst is the baby Asha fic and I don't have any new snippets to give you 😭 it's meant to extend from the very end of the rebellion to about a year later and encompass the whole Tris misadventure + lots of family drama, predictably. I had It so long i probably already put all the interesting parts on the Citadel

Snuggles is just a sequel to this fic where the Montacrew bois get to chill and snuggle after having rescued Romeo from the Capulets lol. V self consciously Italian and i have only disjointed bit.

Robb's sad ravens.

Moat Cailin is a post-canon, TrisTheon fic that's basically ridiculous amounts of angst (although the amounts of ridiculousness depend on whether we're talking the original idea version or the "extended" version). The one that's most likely to get finished someday - the original idea - is at it's core basically Theon realizing that Tris' brother - whom he was close to and misses - died at Moat Cailin, but since they've never really…discussed it (either Harren or Theon's role in the surrender, etc), Theon isn't actually certain about like…when Harren died and since he kinda trauma blocked at least some of what happened at Moat Cailin he goes through a moment of freaking out that he might have caused Harren's death. Finally, he can't deal anymore and asks Tris about it and it turns out the timing is all wrong and Harren died a lot earlier than the surrender but Theon realizes he still wants to kinda "come clean" about the entire situation. This version is like…primarily normal angst with a fluffy-ish ending.

There's also an "extended" version that involves more of Theon getting it into his head that he can't have this relationship with Tris without Tris knowing everything. Tris knows about the child murder and he kinda assumed anyway that there was collateral civilian casualties when they took Winterfell, because well, there always are. But, aside from Moat Cailin, what he doesn't know about is the cover-up murders, and specifically that some of those murders were Theon's own men. This version still has the interpersonal/relationship angst, because obviously Tris gets, ah, kind of overwhelmed with all this and doesn't necessarily take it 100 percent well initially and Theon has all his angst over ever being able to have a normal, honest relationship again. But it also goes harder on the exploration/themes of treason/betrayal and what does all of this mean for Theon's ability to continue being an ironborn prince. It's that theme of betrayal and treason that fandom loves so much for Theon but from the side of people to whom he actually owed certain loyalty.

A fic I would like to edit rewrite etc: Mh. All of them frankly lmao but what's on my mind most at the moment is this Romeo and Juliet fic, patience perforce and wilful choler meeting, that's currently stuck at 99 kudos - it was my first real fanfic written as an adult, I think, minus a couple low effort things and exchanges etc, and I've been thinking a lot about how I would rewrite it now and how I could 'restore it' to make it more reflective of my style right now and readable to others - I didn't even used to use proper spacing then! And I think a lot about how I could rework the inciting incident, which was very based on 'let's throw in everything the recipient likes' istinct but not the most coherent with the actual plot I fear, how I could rewrite some clunky ass dialogue... Though also the answer is I wouldn't write it now, bc I'm now mostly known as an ASOIAF person and 'sweet nervous boy next doors inflicts eye trauma on dramatic boy with anger issues on the opposite side of a feud of which they're the too-young pawns and romance ensues' is no longer free of associations for me! But oh well

I also think about IKMKA a lot but it's not really something I could actually fix - really the problem with it is that it's kinda stuck in format between a very long relaxed fic and a focused long one-shot, so there's a lot of times that I think you can see there's extraneous detail and episodes that would fit if it was one of those 200k epistolary novels with lots of other details and episodes but not in the current framework. I def think I should have gone with all the foster kids except Greydon having returned home now in hindsight lol. I also have had second thoughts sometimes on whether it was a good idea to involve the whole Tristheon aspect, but ultimately even if it doesn't really fit in as well as it could, I don't regret it bc it's really the best Tristheon setting, being a Theon-grows-up-on-the-Islands sort of thing but still keeping enough of the original backstory that you're not essentially writing an OC.

My least kudosed fic is Blue over Verona, which is also a Romeo and Juliet Benvolio/Tybalt fic and has exactly 2 kudos and I think it's beautiful :( Like I don't feel insecure about it unlike others that have maybe still few kudos but not so desperate, bc I know the reason is not that it's bad but bc it's stupidly niche in themes and kind of a snipper of a larger AU. I think I do something really cool with the mechanics of soulmate AUs in it, and it's a very economic meld of two fic concepts that were rotating in my head but that I was never going to both expand, and the idea of having a feud flareup in modern AU happen at the 2006 World Cup was really good and fits with the color symbolism of R&J very well and relatedly I'm enamored with the title

Theon has literally no fear of spiders at all in fact one of the hallmarks of his personality (in my horrible hell brain) is that he doesn’t understand why society has normalized arachnophobia so he just lets them do whatever they want but he hates all other bugs though so whenever he sees one he traps it in some weird way and makes Tris deal with it he’ll be like ‘Tris can u come throw out this can’ ‘what’s underneath it’ ‘an intruder’

First order of business is to remind everyone that the Assignments Deadline is December 24, 2022 11:59 PM (PST/GMT-8)  That’s only a little over a week away! If you already know you will need to default or will need an extension (up to 3 days) please reach out to us.

For this next part, you do NOT need to be signed up to the exchange to participate in writing treats!

We had initially wanted to make the requests live for treat writing after the assignments deadline passed, but ultimately decided to make the document live early to give everyone/anyone who finishes their assignment ahead of time or is not signed up and would like to write a treat a little more time to write prior to the collection golive.

How this works:

In the document linked below you will find the requests of everyone who signed up to the Theon Exchange (+ mods, and Pinch Hitters if we end up having any). 

You are welcome to write treats for any request/requester in this document! Please post your work to the Exchange collection as you would an assignment.  Don’t forget to add the name of your giftee in the “gift work to” space. 

You do NOT need to be signed up to the exchange to write treats! There is also no time limit for when you can write and post a treat (e.g. you can come back after the exchange has ended and write/post a treat then if you’d like). 

The minimum word limit does not apply for treats! 

That said, you are still required to: 1) respect Do Not Wants, 2) respect the maximum rating a requester is willing to recieve, 3) center your work on at least one of the relationships requested by the person you choose to write a treat for in the fandom in which it was requested. 

Until the anonymous period of the exchange ends and creators are revealed, we ask that you keep your authorship of treats secret in the same way you would an assignment. If you are coming back to write/post a treat after the end of the exchange, you do not need to follow any anonymity rules.
