.:.Our Future [Sabaku no Gaara].:.
Tumblr media
The news Kankuro had told you not two hours ago crippled your happiness. Being an Iwa-nin and in love with the Fifth Kazekage was hard enough on both you and Gaara, but now the Suna Council was trying to force Gaara and Kankuro to marry, so there would be a successor for the Kage position. The elders in the council knew about Gaara's relationship, but even after the Fourth Shinobi World War they were adamant on upholding old traditions. And those involved bad blood between Iwagakure and Sunagakure. Even Onoki had given up the old feud, holding more respect for Gaara than the whole of Suna.
It was after the Great Ninja War that you decided to sell your house in Tsuchi no Kuni and move in with Gaara, who had built a home for just the two of you. However, now you weren't so sure it was a good idea. You were afraid what the Suna Council might do to keep you apart. You decided to head back home to ask Onoki what you should do. “Will you be back soon?” You snapped out of your thoughts and forced a smile to your lips as you faced Gaara, “yes. Of course. I just... I need to take care of things with the house and... Don't worry.” You wrapped your arms around his neck and planted a passionate kiss on his lukewarm lips, taking him by surprise. It was over before he could react, watching you leave the premises.
Kankuro saw his little brother sitting on the sofa in turmoil, face twisted in worry and agony. “Gaara, what's wrong?” “Something is wrong. She said she needed to take care of things with the house in Iwagakure. But her house has already been sold.” “How do you know that?” “I checked.” Kankuro nearly tripped over himself and fell off the sofa, groaning at his brother's actions. “You can't spy on your girlfriend. Fiance, even!” “She has been acting strange, that's why.”
“Well, I guess I should tell you. Before you do something you shouldn't.” Kankuro leaned back and stretched his arms over the back of the sofa, Gaara's suspicious gaze narrowed in on him. “She overheard snippets of the conversation between you and the Council. She begged me to tell her what was going on, so I did.” “That wasn't your business to tell, Kankuro.” “I'm sorry, I think she deserved to know. She's afraid.” Gaara stood up, a hardened gaze on Kankuro; “Inform the Suna Council about my decision. I'm going to find her.”
Once Gaara entered Iwagakure, people on the streets bowed in respect and greeted him jovially. He still wasn't used to such friendliness from anyone. He found you at your favourite cafe, sitting far away from everyone, silently observing the couples all around. Your eyes were bloodshot. Gaara sat down beside you, your eyes widening at the sudden appearance. “G-Gaara...” “You wanted to leave.” “I... Of course I wanted to leave. To Suna.” You figured you would lie and he would drop the subject, but you were wrong. His gaze hardened and grew cold, making you cower in shame. “You wanted to leave me, thinking it would make it easier on me to simply marry a girl from Suna and continue my lineage with her. Well, you were wrong. I won't allow you to leave.” “But Gaara... I only bring trouble.” “Then become a Suna-nin.«
The tension between the two of you suddenly grew visible, Gaara knowing you were a proud Iwa-nin. And you never wanted to become a Shinobi for another country. Not even for love. But it was Gaara and a large part wanted you to agree him. Tears started running down your reddened cheeks. “I love you... So much, Gaara. I've loved you since the day I met you. I would never want to hurt you. That's why I want us to become friends, I want you to marry someone from Suna and have a child with her. I want-” “How about what I want?” The atmosphere dissipated to a mellow vibe, your lip trembling and vision blurring. Gaara took your hand and stood up, pulling you with him. His forehead touched yours in a comforting notion. “I want to live the rest of my life with you because I've loved you just as long. I may not be the same person you met as a child, but I want to be even better. I want you to have everything you've never had in your life.” He took a deep breath, “I want to marry you and make you happy. I know I'm the only one who can do it.”
“But... The Suna Council...” “Kankuro was stupid to tell you. I am the Kazekage, they are my council. What they say has no absolution. I will not lose you.” This time Gaara was ready for your passionate kisses, his arms holding you tightly to him as lips moulded to one another like two perfect puzzle pieces.

A Fantastic Beasts AU where William is a wizard from England with a suitcase full of creatures of the old world Japan. His ultimate goal in coming to the island is to set free a sky kujira in Hokkaido. This is a terrible idea for multiple reasons, but please no one tell him.
Also not pictured is Momiji, a wizard who is part of the Japanese Imperial Wizardry Committee, his brother, the Legilimen, Doll Maker, and Kirisame, who just wanted to open up a cafe. (Nori’s an Obscurus thanks to his unlikely orochi heritage, and Hanamori needs everyone to stop because as the head witch of the Wizardry Committee, she can’t handle anymore surprises in Japan.)
I was on a plane and still thinking about the stupid AU so I typed this up on my phone during the long ride. Well, yeah. Here’s basically as close to a Harry Potter AU as I can come.
BONUS STORY:
“Well?” William was half inside his suitcase, his lower half practically eaten up by the leather case. He glanced back at Kirisame to follow him. The brewer, however, still couldn’t fully comprehend the wizard’s limitless space inside a suitcase, and promptly stayed put. “Are you coming, or no?”
“It’s a suitcase,” Kirisame said again, as if it wasn’t obvious. William rolled his eyes. This was why he didn’t like Humans much; they were too simple minded. What he wouldn’t give to just push the man into the suitcase.
“Listen to me,” William sighed, hopping out of the suitcase to standing. “First and foremost, you have to let me treat that baku bite before you start suffering from amnesia. Second, they may seem like nice people, but those two outside are going to obliviate you in the morning, no questions asked.” He gestured back at his suitcase. “So, last time, get in the case.”
Not liking the sound of “oblivion”, Kirisame quickly hopped down into the suitcase, followed by William, who closed it. The case was, as expected, much bigger on the inside. An entire room was fit into it, loose papers all over the floor and strange plants lining the walls.
“What… is this place?” Kirisame asked, looking around in amazement.
“It’s my study,” William said, heading straight for his desk. He stripped it of the books and notes atop its surface, replacing it with what looked like a chemistry set. “Sit down anywhere.” He started tearing a few leaves from a nearby plant. Kirisame picked a spot with the least amount of notes, dusting it off a bit before setting down. “So, Elderwood and, let’s see, I guess…” The wizard continued muttering to himself. “Belladonna? No, no, that’s poisonous to humans.” He grabbed some nearby white blossoms, grounding it up before putting it in a beaker.
Kirisame stared blankly out a nearby window. To his surprise, there was an entire plain out there, where deer with strange looking faces and antlers galloped. He rubbed his eyes, thinking it was a mistake. It wasn’t. Was there more to the suitcase than just the room?
“Tsuchi? Tsuchi, you’re in here right? I need you to spit in this!” William’s yell suddenly threw Kirisame off, and he turned back just in time to see a large spider trying to escape from a crack under the door. “No, no come back here. I need your venom for a second.” With a fellow swoop, William grabbed the spider and hoisted it up by a leg. The spider hissed and crossed its forearms, not wanting to listen to the wizard at all. “We talked about this. If you’re going to hang out in my study then you have to let me drain your fangs every so often.“
"I’m sorry, venom?” Kirisame interrupted, feeling sick. “You’re putting venom in that?”
“It’s harmless, really,” William reassured. “I just need to dilute it enough where it’ll still cause paralysis of toxins but be readily consumable.” With that, he grabbed a test tube and slowly touched the large spider’s fang with it. A dark liquid spilled into the test tube, and when it was half full, William released the spider from his clutches. It hurried out the door. “Don’t eat the drakon pups!” William yelled after the spider before letting it go. He threw the solution into the previous mixture, not saying anything else. It wasn’t long before he finished up the dark blue antidote, with the texture of butter.
“Turn,” William gestured to Kirisame, who got up quickly and showed the spot on the back of his neck where he’d been bitten. The wizard brushed the solution onto his fingers before applying them to the bite. It felt cold on Kirisame’s skin. “Okay, you’re good.” William grabbed a towel to wipe his hands. “Now come help me.”
The wizard opened the door of his study, revealing a great grassland, with blue skies above. Kirisame peered out the door, unable to contain his surprise. It was like entering a whole other world, just by stepping in a suitcase. Just beyond the grassland, the brewer could just make out the plains he had seen earlier. It was, all in all, an inter-dimensional pocket.
“Hold this,” William handed Kirisame a basket filled with seeds. “The yosuzume are probably waiting for dinner, so feed them a handful each. I have to attend to the uwabami and see who got out when you opened the case.” With that, the wizard gave Kirisame a pat on the back and went off in a different direction. Kirisame looked at the basket, back at where William was disappearing off to, and shrugged. There was no way he was dreaming. He didn’t have the capability to dream this sort of stuff up.
He, at first, didn’t exactly know what yosuzume were, but it didn’t take long for him to suddenly feel something swoop down and land on his shoulder. He turned, seeing a brilliant black bird. It came with a whole group, each eyeing the basket hungrily. “A handful…” Kirisame muttered, grabbing a fist full of hay and offering it to the bird. It let out a happy call, eating the offering before flying off. The next bird followed, also expecting some sort of reward. Kirisame continued offering each bird a handful of the hay, until there was nothing left in the basket.
“…Pretty,” he muttered, stroking the head of the last bird. The murder flew off again, disappearing into the skies where they came from. Kirisame dusted his hands off, wondering if he should follow after William. As he thought this, something quickly stomped past him, and the brewer only caught a glimpse of dark grey skin. “Whoa…” Kirisame blinked, wondering if it was some kind of stallion.
He ran after it, as if it could possibly take him somewhere new. It galloped through a grove of trees, easily blending in with the stumps. It was easy to lose sight of, and eventually, Kirisame slowed down, giving up. There was a strange looking caterpillar the size of a person slowly crawling around at the base of a tree. It didn’t have eyes, but it seemed very aware Kirisame was in his place of residence. The human slowly walked towards it, running a hand along its back. It didn’t feel slimy, as he’d expect it to. Instead, it felt warm and hard.
“I wonder what you eat,” Kirisame speculated. Just as he said this, a cat with a split tail jumped down from a tree, attracting the attention of the overgrown caterpillar. In one fast motion, it opened its large mouth and nearly ate the cat whole. Kirisame yelled out, lunging for the cat and throwing it, without thinking. It let out a screech before landing on a tree trunk, scrambling up and away from the ground. The caterpillar ended up backing off once it realized something bigger than its mouth was in front of it, slowly crawling away.
Kirisame let out a sigh, watching the twin tail cat hop onto another tree and run away. That was too dangerously close. “What strange things he keeps here…” Kirisame continued past the trees into a clearing. There was nothing but water before him, yet he was sure he saw a figure standing on the surface. Kirisame shrugged, feeling like he might as well give it a test. His foot rippled the water, but it held his weight.
“Amazing…” he muttered, hurrying over to the figure. Beneath him, the water was full of exotic sea life he’d never seen before. William was up ahead, staring into the clouds above. When he heard Kirisame splashing around, he turned back and stretched his hand out.
“Don’t. Move.” The wizard warned. He went back to staring at the sky. “She’s really shy and doesn’t like strangers.” Kirisame immediately stood still. If what William was expecting was anything like the caterpillar in the forest, Kirisame didn’t want to be accidentally gobbled up. A few breaths later, a magnificent call echoed through the clouds, almost clearing up the sky. What looked like a pale whale broke through the clouds, to which William replied with a call of his own.
The whale took a sudden dive, heading for the two standing on the water. It dived straight down into the sea below, barely visible on the surface, before breaching again and flew upwards. It circled once before settling before William. The wizard gently stroked the whale’s face, winning a kind cry from the beast.
“This,” William explained without turning his attention, “is why I’m really in Japan. This tenkujira needs clear skies to fly freely in, and there’s no better place than home.” The wizard let a small smile slip. “I’m taking her to Hokkaido.” William finally turned to face Kirisame, slowly gesturing him over.
Kirisame gave him a doubtful look. “No, no, come on.” William insisted. “She won’t hurt you. Everything here is harmless.” Kirisame felt like he could beg to differ, but instead, decided to trust William, taking a step forward. The whale didn’t seem to care either way. “Gently stretch your hand out. Like that,” William instructed. “Just put your hand right between her eyes.” Kirisame did as he was directed, feeling the cold surface of the whale. The beautiful beast made the tiniest of cries before nudging into Kirisame’s touch.
“Hah…” Kirisame flinched a little, but soon found that it wasn’t a problem at all. It was like nothing he’d ever experienced before. He found himself smiling, even laughing a little, as the tenkujira turned slightly. “This… this is really amazing…"
"Most humans would never get such an opportunity to see these,” William sighed. “Wizards too. They don’t understand, so they turn to action.” He waved to the tenkujira, who let out a loud call before launching itself back towards the clouds. “I found her in Switzerland. You wouldn’t believe what those wizards were doing to her, keeping her in a cage. It’s too cruel even for words.” William shook his head, smiling when he saw that the pale whale had returned to the skies.
After that, William brought Kirisame to another area, where rain fell lightly over some tropical looking plants. The wizard was taking inventory, or sorts, trying to figure out who had escaped. He counted at least two, so far. Kirisame wondered how William even kept track of all these beasts. There were so many different areas in which they were kept, and so many different species Kirisame never knew existed. As the wizard continued to inspect his creatures, Kirisame noticed something on the back of the man’s collar. It was like a small scorpion, his tail clinging onto the fabric.
“Um,” the brewer started, causing William to turn suddenly. The scorpion let out a tiny shriek, alerting the wizard of its presence.
“Oh, not again…!” William sighed, reaching behind his neck and grabbing the scorpion. “Come on, Kichan, we talked about this. If you cling to me too much, the others will accuse me of favoritism.” He displayed the scorpion in his hand. It shook its head desperately when William tried to put it down. “Your family is going to miss you,” William insisted, though it was of little use.
“What, um,” Kirisame started, pointing to the scorpion.
“Oh, this is Kichan,” William said, giving up and putting it on his shoulder. “This amikiri has attachment issues, though.” He glared at his side, and the scorpion quickly hid in a pocket. “I keep telling him that he has to let go, but he never listens.” He let out an exasperated sigh, before hearing a screech that ripped his thoughts away.
“What was that…?” Kirisame glanced around, suddenly feeling jumpy. It came again, but this time with more than one voice.
“Hold on,” William said, hurrying in the direction of the yelling. He then yelled louder. “Hold on, I said! I’m coming!” Kirisame chased after him, wondering what could be letting out such a sad call.
Eventually, the two came upon a nest of branches held up on what looked like stilts. Kirisame peered inside, seeing about five strange snake-like creatures with a bird’s beak and wings. There was no way, and yet Kirisame was certain they were small itsumade. Even he’d heard of that legend before.
“Shush, sh. It’s okay. No more crying,” he hushed them, sticking his head in the opening of the nest. When he looked out, he frantically searched the ground. “Where did your babysitter go?” He asked. “Great… she escaped too."
"Who?” Kirisame asked.
“Myo,” William sighed. “Great. She’ll be the hardest to find.” He crossed his arms, making a serious expression. “Myobu should be safest out there, though. It’s not like anyone will see her.” William uncrossed his arms, turning to Kirisame again. “If you were a kirin lost in Kyoto, where would you go?”
“A… what?” Kirisame asked.
“If,” William put a hand on his head. “If you were someone who liked beautiful hanging trees, ate flowers, and rarely ventured near humans, where would you go?”
“A park,” Kirisame answered. “I guess. I guess Haradami garden.” William, as soon as the location was mentioned, started off in some direction, not waiting for Kirisame.
“We have to go there, now,” the wizard yelled over his shoulder. “Come on!” The brewer looked around one more time, just to make absolute sure he wasn’t dreaming, and hurried after William. He was not sure what kind of mess he was getting into, but he supposed it would not be that bad. It was not like he had anything else to do anyways.

The Tanabata Fundraising Foundation (TFF) International is a non-profit charity founded by Masami Ryu and Shigeru Miyakazu. The organization raises money for various causes by hosting an annual party on July 7th and auctioning various art pieces that have been donated to them by famous artists, photographers, designers, and etc. The foundation also hosts a variety of other charity events throughout the year. The TFF was established when the two founders were respectively 14 and 16 years old, and are currently in the process of preparing for their 8th annual party and auction.
With the ever increasing number of guests invited to each year’s party and the members all being introverts or ambiverts, Shigeru and the other core members of the TFF have jokingly asked Masami if she was planning to kill them with over stimulation.

Oh Felix my bitey little kitten I've missed you today. Teaching these students is of course a necessary evil but I do wish I could see you more often. I suppose the next time we're both free I'm going to have to spirit you away, there's a lovely coffee shop we could go to. Or we could always stay in and relax. I do so love holding you in my arms and holding your tiny little hands -Tsuchi
