In TB, if I ever Do Anything With That Setting, Carter is very much still kicking around at the Miskatonic and like.

I do want the tone of TB to be a bit more humorous than horror but theres supposed to be a quiet sort of tragedy to Carter because he's clinging to humanity as hard as he can with both hands

(He's also supposed to act a bit as a foil to Riley, who is all to eager to shed their humanity)

LOVECRAFTOBER: DAY TWENTY-EIGHT: Nug and Yeb: The Twin Blasphemies

Affiliation: The Court of Yog-Sothoth and The Court of shub-niggurath

The last big render I wanted to do for Lovecraftober, the twin monstrosities themselves, Nug and Yeb! I felt their designs were conveyed best through renders than simple drawings.

These two are never apart and often act and function as a single entity rather than separate ones. They often finish each other's thoughts or seem to know exactly what the other may say in addition to always seeming to be in agreement about things.

As the offspring of Yog-Sothoth and Shub-Niggurath, they hold a special place as being a bridge between the two courts, often going back and forth depending on their moods. They are known to be extremely unpredictable, ranging from curious and playful to downright violent and sadistic.

They are not hard to tell apart though: Nug has only one mouth and various tentacles and more a slimy look while Yeb has twin mouths and a coating of what seems to be fur as well as two front left hands.

I've been thinking abt Riley and their whole Deal, and im finally settling into a place I like with it. They've got a connection to Yog-Sothoth through their maternal family, and Yog-Sothoth can recognize their mitochondrial DNA since they have a more or less direct maternal line to Lavinia Whateley (who was a great-great grand-aunt or something like that. Same mother as Riley's great-great grandma).

But their connection to Cthulhu by way of Dagon is stronger, since it's by choice.

in 2021 I wondered "what if each MC had their own style? or... EARRINGS...?" and at the end of 2022 I spiraled. hope you enjoy.

(I just need everyone to notice each MC has a corresponding number of beauty marks and piercings. no, multiple piercings in one section do not count shhhhh. some MCs share small similarities, can you spot them all? the little details of this brought me great joy!)

MC 1's style is playful, colourful and everything fun. MC 2's style is cool, coordinated and a little edgy. MC 3 wears barely any clothing because I gave up 🖤 and I imagine Toji coerces him into ever having any semblance of modesty 🖤 MC 4's style is soft, comfy and pastels. and MC 5, I imagine, is a bit of goth, a bit of academia, and very put together.

ps. if you made it this far, here are the MC 3 "rejects". I like him the most with no lip piercings, but I think he definitely needs them. can you believe I redrew his face 4 times and yet never gave him clothes.

pps. every MC is named "Nii Juu San (23)" in my head, EXCEPT him. HIS name is Boobina 🖤
