Okay I saw this on a post on my recommended and decided to nick it because dhdjsjdjdjs THIS IS SO GOOOOD.
“put ur Spotify on shuffle and write down the first lyric of the first ten songs that come on, post the poem that results” (character playlist edition)
(Okay I tweaked slightly for some to include first two lines so it makes more sense but UM)
• William James Moriarty edition:
Time to put my medal on
Whose blood to spill?
Sick thoughts
We might just be unkind
Double, double, double
Down
I thought I saw the devil this morning
Looking in the mirror
Regrets collect like old friends
When I was a boy, I didn’t care ‘bout a thing
I can’t forget what we’ve been through now
Murder lives forever and so does war
This is the end, hold your breath and
Count to ten
A dozen crows and then some on the
Rhododendrons.
• Louis James Moriarty edition:
Draw the cat eyes sharp enough to kill a man
All my friends are heathens, take it slow
I’m in the rafters looking down
Are you insane like me?
Be careful making wishes in the dark
Our coming of age has come and gone
I don’t even know myself at all
I’ll make it through the rainy days
I’ll be the one who stands here longer than the rest
To carry on for you
(Screaming thanks for those last two Spotify??)
• Sherliam Edition: (I got carried away shutup)
Remember those walls I built?
Well baby they’re tumbling down
Wise men say, only fools rush in
These are the moments that mean the most
Feeling you closing in, brushing against my skin
I’m giving you a night call to tell you how I feel
Once upon a time, the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned
I wasn’t jealous before we met
I’ll sing it one last time for you
What would I do without your smart mouth.
Sun is gleaming on the water, nothing but the after in our gaze.
(Again WTF I am deceased)
Gonna tag a bunch of people because I adore this, feel free to ignore or if you’re not tagged you wanna jump in, please please do!

Dealing With Demons Chapter 5: Hope This One's Interesting Par 1: Riley
Masterlist with CW
Taglist: @demyxdancer @softvampirewhump
Riley had never seen Director Coleman look this angry before. She was gripping the armrests of her wheelchair so tight it looked like she was about to launch herself forward to strangle them. Her face was red, the veins in her forehead bulged, and Riley was sure that everyone on the building's main floor could hear her yelling at them.
"So why, Agent Bishop, did you not think to tell me any of this?"
"I, um—"
"Or at least warn me that you were bringing a demon in on the investigation?"
"I didn't want to give Bell time to—"
"Do you have any idea the sheer amount of paperwork I will have to do to explain how a routine interview turned into a demonic incident? Involving multiple demons?"
"I didn't think it would turn out like this!" Riley pleaded desperately.
Coleman paused and took a few deep breaths. "You... improvised. You used an unorthodox method to aid in the investigation and that's fine, usually, but for god's sake keep me informed about stuff like this!"
"Yes, Sir," Riley said, looking down.
"At least everything turned out okay."
Their head snapped up to face the director. "What? But someone lost her soul!"
"Clara Bolton made a choice. One that saved her life when I don't know what else could have. She chose her life over her soul, and we can't judge her for that or ignore that she made that choice of her own free will. So take the win, Riley."
"Yes, Sir."
"Besides, whenever demons are involved I consider it a win when all of my agents come back alive. Also, you're suspended for a month."
"That seems about right."
"Now, I can't stop you from keeping in contact with this demon, no matter how much I wish I could. But if you want to bring them in on any more missions or investigations once you get back you will inform me first. Understood?"
"Understood, Sir. But trust me, I don't think I'll be contacting them again."
"Good. Now go home, Bishop. I'll see you in four weeks."
Riley left Coleman's office. Just as they reached the elevator Sil grabbed their shoulder to stop them. It was a bit of an awkward angle because of how tall Riley was, but she managed to turn them around to face her.
"Look," Riley started. "I know I should have told you, and a part of me wanted to, but it all just seemed too crazy. I'm sorry."
"I would have done the same."
Riley's train of thought went off a cliff. "You what?"
"I would have done the same. I mean, I also would've told Coleman what I was doing, but you were trying to turn a threat into an asset. It was dangerous, and stupid to try alone, and not the job of a researcher at all, but I get it. I just thought you should know that."
"Thanks. That really means a lot."
"But seriously don't talk to that demon again, it's not worth it. When you yelled at them earlier I almost had a heart attack."
"I won't. And if they try to contact me I'll call you right away."
"Good. Sounds like a plan. Take care of yourself, Riley." Sil squeezed their shoulder and smiled.
"I will."
Riley left and started walking toward the subway station. As they walked they opened up Spotify and saw that several of their playlists had a new like. And they had a new follower. Someone with the username Aureum and a profile picture of a gold coin.
Well, whatever else the demon was, they had good taste in music. Riley checked out Avi's profile out of a stubborn curiosity in the back of their mind--a part of them couldn't help but still see Avi as a possible font of information. Avi had no playlists of their own, and only followed one other person besides Riley. Their username was CosmicCat and their profile picture was the night sky. They had over fifty playlists--more than twice what Riley had--all of them dedicated to podcasts and tv shows and books, many of which Riley didn't recognize. They had other followers, and followed other people, they seemed like an actual human being who really loved music.
Avi's words from the day they met came back to Riley. "I only really have one friend at the moment." This must be that friend. Riley was insanely curious now, this appeared to be a normal person who was friends with a demon of avarice. They wanted to know how and why.
Riley glanced up at the time and cursed. They had to hurry or they would end up walking home in the dark. They followed CosmicCat and made a mental note to check them out later.
......
When Riley was twelve they came across a word they didn't recognize in one of their grandmother's old spellbooks. She let them read the magical tomes as long as they kept their promise to not attempt to perform any kind of magic unless she was with them.
They went up to where their grandmother was making dinner and tugged on her shirt.
"What is it?"
"What's a warlock?"
Riley's grandmother froze for a moment then turned off the stove and put down her wooden spoon. "Let's sit down at the table to talk about this."
Riley was nervous. They were worried they'd somehow messed up by asking that question, and as they sat down at the kitchen table they fidgeted and fiddled with the hem of their shirt.
"You're not in trouble, sweetie, this is just a serious topic, okay?"
Riley looked up at her. "Okay."
"A warlock is a mage that doesn't get their power from runes, or from genetics."
"Where do they get it from?"
Riley's grandmother paused. "Have you read about the different planes of existence?"
"Yes." Riley nodded enthusiastically.
"And you know what the psychic plane is?"
"It's where all our feelings go when we feel them."
Riley's grandmother smiled. "That's right, sweetie. And sometimes we can feel certain emotions so strongly that it creates a living creature in the psychic plane."
"Like a person?"
"Not exactly. Depending on what feeling created it, it can be either an angel or a demon. These creatures live in the psychic plane feeding off of the impressions left by people's emotions until someone summons them to this plane. A person who wants something enough can perform a summoning ritual that will find the angel or demon that can best grant their wish and bring that spirit here. Then, the person can sell the creature their soul in exchange for what they want. That's how warlocks get their power, through deals. Usually with demons."
"What do the angels and demons do with the souls they buy?"
"When the person who makes the deal dies the angel or demon takes the soul and eats it."
Riley's face was a perfect mask of surprise. "But I thought angels were good, not evil!"
"It's not that simple, it's... hmm..." Riley's grandmother thought for a moment. Then she left the room and returned carrying a fluffy gray cat with one eye. She deposited the cat in Riley's lap and they wrapped their arms around it despite it's distressed meows.
"Is Florence evil for eating mice and bugs?"
"No!" Riley insisted and snuggled the annoyed cat tighter until it slipped out of their grasp and ran off. "That's what cats are supposed to do!"
"Well, angels and demons are supposed to eat souls, you can't call them evil for that, only very very dangerous. Probably the most dangerous creatures in existence. Because they aren't good or evil, they can't be, because they aren't human. They're predators. And they don't act like humans. Do you understand?"
Riley nodded. "Yes. Don't worry, I'll never ever ever make a deal with a demon or an angel."
Riley's grandmother smiled. "Good. Now, I had better get back to dinner. And you had better make sure Florence doesn't scratch up my books." Riley nodded and ran off back to the living room.
Sixteen years later, on the subway ride home, Riley wondered what their grandmother would think of Avi.
......
There weren't a lot of ways to find out information on someone from just a Spotify account. Riley looked up the username CosmicCat on every social media platform they could think of, and found nothing that seemed related to the demon. The only possible lead was an abandoned Twitter account full of mostly quotes and song lyrics. At least that Twitter account let Riley know that CosmicCat used she/her pronouns.
If Riley were still at work they could maybe justify using the Bureau's resources to track her down, but they weren't at work. And anyways, doing so would be messy in terms of paperwork as well as ethics.
For now, all Riley could do was think. And they certainly had more than enough time for that

word count: 3567
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day started out like any other day for Colby. Nothing felt out of place as he woke up and laid in bed for a couple minutes. He knew today was going to be one of the less crazier days for him and Sam. No meetings of any kind, and no filming either. He had gotten everything done earlier this week and he was excited to have a bit of a day off. The only thing he had planned for today was to go workout with Sam early. He glanced at his phone. 9:34 A.M. Perfect time for him and Sam to go down to the apartment's gym and get some work done.
Colby stretched as he stood up, stumbling over to his closet and changing into what he usually worked out in, a muscle shirt and basketball shorts. He trudged into his bathroom and brushed his teeth quickly, opting to take a shower after he got home from the gym. He slipped his sneakers on as he walked into his kitchen and got a water bottle from his fridge. Taking a big gulp, he grabbed his keys and headed straight down the hallway to Sam's apartment.
He knocked three times, calling out to Sam as he waited for the blonde-haired boy to open the door. Finally, Sam did, rubbing his eyes and staring at Colby confused.
"Hey dude, did you oversleep?" Colby smirked, "That would be a first."
Sam narrowed his eyes at Colby, his voice still tired. "Um, I'm sorry?"
“Don't you remember? We planned to work out this morning. We talked about it last night.” Colby replied, twirling his keys in his fingers.
“What are you talking about?” Sam scrunched up his face.
“Last night after we filmed your video, we said we should go workout this morning…” Colby chuckled lightly, “Are you okay, brother?”
“I'm sorry, but... do you have the wrong apartment?” Sam asked nicely.
Colby exhaled. “What?”
“You must be looking for someone else, dude. I have no idea who you are.” Sam mumbled to himself, “Or how you know my name…”
“Okay, ha-ha. Very funny. Come on, Sam. Let's go.” Colby stated, taking a step back to leave.
Sam insisted, his voice getting louder. “No seriously, I have no idea who you are.”
“Babe, who is that?” A voice called from inside the apartment.
Colby looked over Sam, seeing Kat walk around the corner in her pjs. Colby glanced above Kat and noticed something off but ignored it.
“Hey Kat, did Sam hit his head last night?” Colby joked.
Sam turned to Kat. “Do you know him?”
Kat took a step back, glancing at Colby quickly. “No, I have no idea who he is. Do you?”
“No, I don't.” Sam shook his head.
“What are you guys on about? Of course, you know me.” Colby hissed.
“Seriously, I have no idea who you are or how you know me. But you gotta leave.” Sam ordered.
“What?” Colby raised an eyebrow, his voice softening, “Is this some type of prank?”
“Leave now, or I'm gonna call security on you.” Sam grunted.
Colby started. “Dude what are you talking-”
Sam slammed the door in Colby's face, locking it loudly. Colby scoffed, staring at the door for a second.
If this is a prank, I'm so gonna get him back for this.
Colby rolled his eyes and went down to the gym. He couldn't wrap his head around what just happened. Why was Sam pranking him if they already filmed last night? Was he trying to film for next week now too? Was this for someone else's video?
I mean, this has to be a prank... right?
Colby shook his head, ignoring the strange thought. Of course, this was a prank. It was probably for Jake's video. Maybe even Kat's. Or Kevin's. Someone was doing it to him. He couldn't remember the last time he had pranked somebody. But whoever he did, they were probably trying to get him back now for it. And they were doing a pretty good job.
Colby jumped onto the treadmill, keeping the pace slow at first as he searched through Spotify to find his playlist. Where was his playlist? As cheesy as it was to listen to the playlist he made for fans, it was filled with his favorite songs, so he would actually listen to it a lot. But now... he couldn't find it.
Where the fuck is it?
He searched, even going to his profile, but it wasn't there. Gone, like it never existed.
Maybe Spotify is acting up. Let me just go to Youtube.
Colby clicked on the app, searching up a song he wanted to hear. Then he paused for a moment, deleting the text he had written and typing in 'sam and colby'.
No results found.
“What?” Colby murmured, twisting up his face.
He then typed in 'colby brock'.
No results found.
Colby's heart sped up in his chest, his breathing quickening. Did his channel get deleted? Why were there no results for his channel, or 'Sam and Colby' for that matter? He finally typed in 'sam golbach', and Sam's channel appeared.
Colby clicked on it, glancing around at the different layout. This wasn't the layout Sam had had before. The only time they change it is when they are starting a new chapter, and they always do it together. Maybe he changed it last minute?
He clicked on Sam's videos. Scrolling through the list of them, he noticed something weird.
Sam always included Colby in the thumbnail. But now... he was nowhere. Now someone different was in the thumbnail, like Jake, Kevin, or even Corey. But... Colby was nowhere.
What the fuck was going on?
Colby clicked on a video he knew he was in, 'This Is How He LOST The Game’. He watched through the first ad, waiting impatiently. Finally, when the video loaded, his eyes widened at what he saw.
He wasn't in the video.
Sam had started the video off like normal, showing all the guys sitting on the couch as he explained the name of the game. But Colby, who knew for a fact he was in this video, was no longer there. His spot empty.
It was one thing to pretend not to know him, it was one thing to remove him from the thumbnails. But to remove him from videos all together...
“It's impossible.” He uttered under his breath.
Colby rushed off the treadmill, no longer in the mood to workout. He ran up to his apartment, feeling his heart bang against his ribcage.
Maybe this is all a weird ass dream? Or an extremely elaborate prank?
Colby went into his closet, deciding he wanted to change out of his clothes into something more comfortable. He gazed over at the corner of his closet, where he kept all of his merch, along with the XPLR ones too.
It was empty.
“What the fuck?” Colby grabbed at the empty hangers, spinning around his closet. He threw open drawers to try and find his merch, but he couldn't find it.
Colby swiped open his phone, sliding to his pictures. He knew him and Sam had a recent photoshoot in the new XPLR merch, so as long as those photos were there, he knew everything's okay.
As he opened his photo album, a certain dread trickled through his body.
Colby never deleted anything off his phone. He wanted to keep as many photos as possible. Plus it was always good to have extra photos in case he didn't have anything to post on his Instagram. But now, every photo he had was different than it once was. He had many photos of him and Sam from their years of friendship. But now every photo that had him and Sam in it... was gone. It was no longer Sam and Colby. It was just... Colby.
I'm not doing this right now. This can't be real.
Colby shook his head, his nerves getting the better of him as he laid back down on his bed. He took some deep breaths, trying to relax. This must just be the most realistic dream he's ever had, and he just needs to go back to sleep and wake up to everything normal again.
Normal... Sam's neon sign was gone.
Colby groaned to himself, closing his eyes and getting comfortable in bed. No, this is not the time to think. I just need to sleep.
As Colby felt himself relax into sleep, his dreams that followed were confusing and dark. Nothing made sense, but all he knew was that he was in a panic.
Colby jolted awake suddenly. He could tell by the way the sun was peeking through his windows that it was later. He opened his phone. 1:34 P.M.
He sighed deeply. Colby was used to waking up on his days off this late. Everything already felt better.
Did I dream all of that? Or was that prank real?
As he slid out of bed to the bathroom, he decided to check twitter. If that was all real, maybe Sam had mentioned the prank to the fans.
Colby opened twitter and nothing seemed out of the usual. He looked at Sam's account, and noticed it was not following him anymore.
He's being extremely thorough, isn't he?
As he went to switch over to the Sam and Colby account, he noticed the icon wasn't there. His fingers twitched as he typed 'sam and colby' into the search bar. Everything but that account showed up. 'Sam and Colby' twitter didn't exist.
A nauseous feeling rolled through Colby's body. Colby went to his profile, looking through the people he followed, not even noticing the significant lack of followers he had. He knew he followed a couple fans, maybe they knew what was up. As he scrolled through, he noticed the usernames were different.
He knew a bunch of fans off-hand. A lot of fan accounts always stuck out to him; and it was easy to remember the username, especially if it was named after him.
But nobody's username was.
He saw a lot of 'Golbach', but no 'Brock' or even 'Golbrock', which he always thought was cute. Not a single username was related to him anymore.
Alright, that's enough.
He angrily clicked on his contacts, needing to call Sam and tell him to call off this prank. It was no longer funny and honestly, he didn't even want to be a part of it anymore. Most pranks he was fine with, but this one was going too far for him.
Colby gasped as he stared at his contacts, dropping his phone like it electrocuted him.
All his friends were missing from his contacts. The only people in his phone were his family, and that was it.
Colby began to hyperventilate, unable to stop the panic that surged through his body. He bore at himself in the mirror, staring at his stress-ridden face. He gripped the counter of his sink, trying to calm himself down.
If he couldn't turn to Sam, who could he turn to?
He picked his phone back up, leaning against his counter as he called his mom. He just needed to know that someone remembered him.
“Hello?” His mother’s voice sang through the phone.
Colby breathed, slightly relaxing against the counter. “Hey Mom, how are you?”
“Hi Cole-baby. I'm doing okay. How are you?” She asked sweetly.
Colby pouted. “Um, I'm feeling a bit... off, to say the least.”
“Oh no, what's wrong?” She responded.
“I know this is gonna sound like a weird question, but do you remember my friend Sam?” Colby questioned, tapping his hand against the counter.
She hummed, guessing. “Sam? Sam... Johnson?”
“What? No. I never knew a Sam Johnson.” Colby rolled his eyes, frustrated, “I mean Sam Golbach. Sam Golbach. Do you remember him?”
“No... should I?” She admitted.
His heart dropped at her words. “Yeah, you should. He's my best friend. We were friends all through high school. We started a literal career together, he's basically your third son at this point.”
“Woah, honey. What are you talking about?” She puzzled.
“You don't remember Sam? He's the whole reason I moved out here, Mom.” He urged, needing his mother to remember.
She paused, then spoke. “Colby, you moved out to LA alone. Last month.”
“What?” He choked.
“You worked all through high school and college and saved up money and just recently moved out there.” She informed.
His eyes widened. “Mom, I've lived in LA for almost five years now.”
Also... college?
“Maybe it feels like five years, but honey, you only moved out a month ago at max.” His mom’s voice softened, lowering slightly. “Are you okay?”
“No momma, apparently not.” He sighed, “Who was I friends with in high school if I wasn’t friends with Sam?”
“Honey, you didn’t have any… or none that you ever brought home.” She mentioned.
Colby queried. “And college?”
“You didn’t really talk about anyone. You were very focused on your schoolwork.” She explained.
That literally doesn’t sound like me at all. I couldn’t even pass math without Sam.
Colby glanced down at his tattoos for a second, pursing his lips. “Another quick question, I was allowed to live in our house with dyed hair, tattoos, and pierced ears?”
She gasped. “Wait what? You got a tattoo?!”
“Mom, I have like five.” Colby deadpanned.
“When did you find the time to get them?!” She hushed, “Cole, you know how I feel about tattoos.”
Colby grew tired. “So, you've never heard of a Sam Golbach before?”
“No, absolutely not. But don't try to change the subject on me, Cole Robert.” She scolded.
He huffed. “I'll talk to you later, momma.”
She sputtered. “What? Don't you-”
Colby clicked ‘End Call’, lowering his head to the counter, taking in a deep breath and holding it.
“What the fuck is happening right now?” He demanded out loud.
Colby jumped up, going to his closet and slipping on some clothes quickly. The only thing he knew for certain is that something wasn't right, and he needed to get out of his apartment and go somewhere else. Anywhere else.
He grabbed his keys and rushed down to the parking lot, getting into his car quickly and driving off.
He drove for a while, finally pulling into another parking lot and turning off his car. He needed to get something to eat, and then maybe he could figure things out. He glanced around and noticed the parking lot he was in was for a diner named Meyer's. He locked his car as he left, swinging the diner's door open hastily. The diner wasn't packed, but it wasn't empty either. A nice lull of conversations droned on as he sat down at the furthest booth, cracking his knuckles nervously.
He picked up the menu that was already at the table, staring at the front of it. He didn't even realize a waitress had walked up next to him.
"...Are you okay?" The soft voice said, breaking him out of his thoughts.
Colby stared up at the waitress, noticing her eyes first. They were captivating and beautiful, much like herself. Her hair shined brightly in the sun that basked through the window. Her smile was wonderful to see after a day of unpleasant looks.
He stuttered. “What? Uh-I. Yeah, no, I'm fine.”
She giggled. “Okay. Can I get you something to drink?”
“Um, a water. No, a soda. Please.” Colby muttered.
“Alright. Coming right up.” She nodded.
Colby stared at the menu again, gazing over the pictures of sandwiches and wraps. He wasn't really hungry, but he felt like he should just eat something, even if it was just to pass the time.
The waitress came back over with his soda, placing it lightly down in front of him. “Are you ready to order?”
“No, not yet.” Colby answered, not looking up from the menu.
“Okay, I'll be right back.” She started to walk away, then stopped and turned back. “Are you okay? I know I already asked you that but... you look really upset.”
Colby’s shoulders slumped as he gazed up at her. “I-I... don't even know how to explain it.”
“Why? Is it complicated?” She guessed.
“You could say that,” Colby glared down at the menu. “It just doesn't make any sense. It sounds fake, to be honest.”
“Well, you can tell me. I won't judge.” She smiled.
I might as well tell somebody...
“Everyone's... forgotten about me?” Even Colby was confused at his words.
“What do you mean? Like they're ignoring you?” She questioned, her hand resting on her hip.
“No. Like they literally forgot I exist. Or, I somehow don't exist in their lives anymore, when yesterday I did.” He confessed.
She shrugged. “Well, maybe they're trying to ignore you instead of talking things out.”
“No, I don't think you understand. I don't exist to them. They don't know me. Like, at all,” Colby corrected. “My best friend, my brother, the fucking dude I got arrested with, doesn't know who I am.”
“Wait, you've been arrested?” She raised an eyebrow.
“It was just breaking and entering. And having fake IDs,” He commented. “But that's not the point, the point is no one remembers me, but I remember them.”
The waitress stood there silently, awkwardly.
“I don't know what to say.” She whispered.
He gulped. “I don't know either. But if you have a solution, I'd gladly hear it.”
“Maybe it's a prank?” She speculated.
“I thought about that too. But if it is, this is extremely elaborate. And borderline impossible.” Colby disclosed.
She argued nonchalantly. “People do crazy things for social media.”
“Yeah, but even my friends wouldn't take it this far for just a dumb video.” He complained.
“Are your friends famous?” She inquired.
“I wouldn't say that. My best friend is Sam Golbach.” Colby revealed.
“Sam Golbach? Why have I heard that name before?” She asked quietly.
“He's got a lot of followers. He’s a Youtuber.” He pointed out.
“Wait, you're Sam's best friend?” Her eyes widened.
“Yeah?” He cocked his head to the side.
She gasped. “Oh! You're Colby Brock!”
“I'm what?” He stammered.
“You're Colby, right?” She doubted for a second, “Or did I get that wrong?”
Colby jumped up out of his seat. “Oh my God, you know who I am! Wait, how do you know?”
“My one friend is a huge fan of you and Sam. She showed me you guys like a month ago.” She paused for a second, smirking. “She's actually really into you... Maybe I should call her.”
“Please do. I need to know if she knows who I am.” Colby pleaded, sitting back down.
The waitress followed him, sitting across from Colby. “Of course she does, she literally has you set as her wallpaper.”
She pulled out her phone, glancing around to make sure no one was watching her. She clicked on a contact, putting the phone on the table and clicking ‘Speaker’.
“Hello?” A voice broke in through the phone.
She grinned, staring up at Colby. “Hey Sara, you need to come down to the diner real quick.”
“What why?” Sara questioned.
“Colby Brock is here.” She announced.
Sara remarked. “...Who?”
“Colby Brock, the guy you're in love with.” She repeated.
“I have no idea who you're talking about. I've never heard that name before.” Sara denied.
“He's Sam Golbach's friend.” The waitress described.
Sara exclaimed. “Oh my God, is Sam there?! Because I’ll-”
She interjected. “No, he’s not.”
“Oh... then I don't want to come.” Sara recalled, “I've never heard Sam talk about a guy named Colby before.”
Colby swallowed the lump in his throat, his eyes falling off of the waitress’.
She fretted. “Okay then. I'll talk to you later.”
“Alright, bye.” Sara ended, hanging up the phone.
After a moment of silence, the waitress stated, “I'm sorry about that.”
“What's there to be sorry about?” Colby quavered.
The waitress scoffed suddenly. “Is this some kinda joke?”
“What?” He queried.
“Are you pulling a prank on me? Was Sara in on it? Because I’ll kill her if she met you and didn’t tell me.” She jeered jokingly.
Colby shook his head, deadpanning. “I haven’t met Sara, and I’m not pranking you.”
“How can I know if you’re lying or not?” She questioned, squinting her eyes.
“Google my name. Search me on any social media,” Colby suggested. “I don’t exist.”
“Okay…” She agreed.
The waitress quickly typed in his name into Google, coming up with no images that looked like him. None of his social media links came up either.
She gazed up at him slowly. “This is really weird.”
“You’re telling me.” Colby uttered, “No one remembers me.”
She blurted. “But I do.”
“Yeah… why is that?” He inquired.
“I-I don’t know.” She sputtered, confused. Then she jolted up from her seat instantly. “I-um, gotta go help out my other tables. Do you need me to give you some time to look over the menu?”
“Yes…” He continued, “But one other thing.”
“Sure.” She leaned in, her hands resting on the tabletop.
“Can you help me? Please?” Colby begged, lightly grabbing her hand.
She silently gasped, whispering, “How?”
“I don’t know. But I think you’re the only one that can.” Colby divulged.
The waitress stuttered, but no words fell from her lips.
He exhaled, staring into her eyes. “So, will you?”
Transgender Pride Month Challenge
Tumblr media
So, I'm an admin on a trans meme/info account on Instagram, and one of the guys on there sent this to our chat, so I thought I'd do it on here.
1. My name is Elliott or Ell. I am asexual and bi/panromantic (both fit me so I use both) and I am a transmasculine non-binary person.
2. The only proper coming out I've had was with my mum. I don't feel like putting it here, it's somewhere on my blog. Most of the time I've either given my friends my Tumblr knowing they'd figure it out or I've just dropped a thousand hints in group chats! I dunno, I just prefer coming out like that with people I know will be okay with it.
3. I've probably always had an idea, at least since I was about 8, but after the age of 10 I kind of went into a fair bit of denial and threw myself into being a fangirl. I eventually realised I should look into it in May 2018, when I first identified as a demigirl.
4. I am not on hormones. It's probably something I'll look into doing maybe in my mid twenties for half a year, maybe a year, to get the extent of the effects that I want, but I don't think I'd stay on for much more than a year.
5. My support system is mostly my friends.
6. My chest, my deadname (mostly seeing it written), sometimes my voice, sometimes my height.
7. When I decided to change my name (July 2018 when I was exploring the possibility of being a trans guy) the one thing I knew was that I wanted to still be able to feasibly use the nickname Ell. So I basically looked around online for names with that sound in them. I ended up with about five or six and wrote down the pros and cons of them all. The only con on the name Elliott was that there was a guy in my form class with the same name (Elliot), whereas the others usually had about two. So I chose Elliott.
8. I haven't had much of a transition journey. I had my hair cut short in July 2018. Had my first irl coming out in September 2018 as non-binary to a friend who figured it out. July 2019 I changed my name. July and August 2019 I came out to my mum (if you followed me then you'll know what that story is and why it was over two months). November 2019 I went to a comic con with my friends which was my first time being openly non-binary in public, and I also bought my first pronoun badge there. Later in the month, my mum bought me a pronoun badge. December 2019 my best friend bought me my first binder. And some point before September 2020 I will have come out on my personal Instagram.
9. I don't think I have any regrets. I feel like I shouldn't have any, because everything I have done has brought me here, and I'm happy where I am. Maybe I regret backing out of coming out on Instagram last month, because I was gonna try coming out on 1st of July, but with everything happening I felt like it was a really inappropriate time.
10. My binder is a blue half tank from GC2B. His name is Robbie. I can't be bothered to take a photo!
11. My definite transition goals are to legally change my name and gender (but only when the UK legally recognises non-binary people, until then imma confuse people by having a masculine legal name but being legally recognised as female!) and have a chest reduction. As I said earlier, I'm definitely considering testosterone, but the two effects I definitely want from it are facial hair and a deeper voice, both of which I could probably achieve to an extent without the involvement of T. (I basically have the ability to grow a beard naturally, but I never have because mum's worried about me being bullied or whatever if it gets too much.)
14. I am single and have never been in a relationship. I know, I know, the shock and the horror of a 16 year old having never been in a relationship, but I'm permanently anxious about everything, and I don't develop crushes very often and the last two I've had have been on friends, one of which doesn't live near me and I've never met in person, so.... Yeah, and that means I can't really say whether people knowing I'm trans or not has had any difference in them being attracted to me.
15. Obviously, I'm not completely out right now, but when I do come out I will be quite open about it. There's no real way to be stealth as a non-binary person, so that's not really a possibility. Even on the trans masc side of things, I don't think I'd ever be able to be stealth nor do I really want to be. For one, my transition plans don't exactly allow for it particularly, but also, while being referred to as male is highly preferable to being referred to as female, if I can have control over it, I won't be seen as strictly either.
16. I think I stand with the majority when I say that the only concern I can think of around transitioning is transphobia. Especially with my classmates, because while some of them are amazing (hello the whole five of you here) there's a lot of casual transphobia and explicit mockery of non-binary people at my school. It's one of the reasons I really hope our pride group continues when I start back at Sixth Form in September, because I feel like we could do a lot to combat that.
17. I mean, I guess I basically went over fear of rejection in 16, but I guess I could extend on that by explaining why I don't really mention my dad in regards to all this. Basically, I haven't come out to him about anything regarding my queer identity. This isn't necessarily because of him being explicitly homophobic or transphobic (he's never said anything homophobic ever and seemingly supports my going to pride events), it's mostly because our relationship is somewhat distant. We don't have an awful lot to do with each other outside of sharing interests. And he tends to be averse to anything "new". So, yes, I fear that if I came out to my father about being non-binary he would react by either ignoring it or me or not believing me.
20. September 2016 vs Today, June 2020
Tumblr media Tumblr media
21. Something I'm most proud of relating to being trans... ooh! Probably the time I went out for lunch with my mum and my granny (who is basically deaf) and being called "sir" and "young man" by two different waiters while mum went to the toilet. The reason that's such an amazing moment for me is because I was feeling extremely dysphoric about how long my hair was getting, so I wasn't even making any attempt to look at all masculine.
22. Things that make me euphoric are binding, people saying my name, listening to recordings of my voice (a lot of the time it sounds a lot more androgynous than I expect) and seeing photos of myself in cosplay.
23. Music. Very generic! Um... I have a Spotify playlist of songs to listen to when I feel dysphoric. Speaking of Spotify playlists, most of them are based on ships or characters. My username is seltudoor. I have a rather large record collection and an old record player/radio/cassette player that used to be my dad's that I think is from the 80s. Everything else you know! Classic rock, Sinatra and all that.
24. Freddie Mercury is the love of my life (HA!) and my role model. I have put into words why somewhere on my music blog, but I can't exactly remember. It goes a bit deeper than that he wasn't afraid to be true to himself. I also have an entire post about my trans role model Lou Sullivan that I made last June. In short, he was the first trans man to medically transition as an openly gay man who was also a badass, though I mainly say that because towards the end of his life (he died from AIDS complications) he wrote that, although the medical system didn't recognise him as a gay man, it seemed as though he was going to die like one.
25. Weirdest fact about me. Hmm... not sure I have any weird facts. My bookshelf organisation has two aspects to it that I don't think I've seen anyone else have. I group them by genre and order them by publication date from earliest to latest.
26. Things that cross my mind a lot. The fact that I should really be doing some writing instead of reading another fanfiction or watching another YouTube video that spoils most of Merlin for me. I don't know really.
27. You can win my heart by having a presence that makes me feel like I can happy stim in front of you whilst we watch something together, by accepting the fact that you will probably come second to my fandoms/obsessions a lot of the time, by allowing me to be touchy and clingy at random moments for often a long period of time, by not judging that I can't do "normal everyday things" and helping me with them and by being weird.
28. My mum, @maestrowave, @in3ffable-husbands, @fandom-0bsession and everyone else in my active group chats on Instagram, @britpop-bowie, @esperata and some other people.
29. I don't know what I'm most scared of.
30. I think I'm mostly happy. I have great friends, my education is probably headed in a direction that will allow me to progress into an industry I've wanted to work in since I was 9 and in two years' time I will hopefully be at uni and able to experiment with my transition without worrying about what my parents think.
Blue Eyes| Daniel x Reader Chapter 12- What Am I
Tumblr media
youtube
A/N: I'm going to make a pretty hugetine skip to make sure that this is up to date. Woah this is 2000+ words long. Jeepers.
🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉
Daniel POV
I sat on the couch, leaning agains the arm rest. I had my guitar on my lap trying to come up with a song for this month. But the only thing I could think about was Y/n.
My mind spaced out as I imagined holding Y/n in my arms. Giving her kisses and whispering sweet nothings into her hear throughout the night.
My mind had already drifted deep into imagination before I realized that I had been subconsciously playing the guitar.
"That sounds good," says Corbyn, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked back down at my guitar after nodding at Corbyn.
"Oh, uh thanks," I tried to figure out what I had just played on the instrument. After a while of playing the same five notes I gave up and tossed it onto the couch. I rubbed my face with my hands a lolled my head back. "Ugh!"
"You got a little somthing troubling you Daniel?" says Corbyn. I looked at him with a glare that screamed that I was tired of life.
"My brain is blank and I have zero ideas," I groaned into my hands. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, it was 3 a.m.
"Write about whatever's on your mind," says Corbyn. He was holding a mug of milk and was wearing a blue fuzzy coat.
"There's only one thing on my mind right now Corbyn," I said. "I think you know what it is."
"Then use her as inspiration." Instead of answering him, I just stared at my guitar. Eventually, Corbyn went back to sleep while I stayed on the sofa.
[Time skip brought to you by Lavender]
I woke up to the sun shining in my eyes. I saw a bunch of papers surrounding me. I racked my memory for an answer to what had happened yesterday. That's when I remembered that I had stayed up all night writing the new song.
I rubbed my eyes and sat up. I cleaned up the papers and stacked them neatly on the coffee table before walking into the kitchen.
"Dude," calls Zach from the table as he eats scrambled eggs. "Did you stay up all night writing that song?"
I ran my hand over my face and prepared myself a bowl of cereal. I nodded and sat at the table. Facing Zach. "Can I see what you wrote?" I nodded once more and he went to grab the papers on the coffee table.
When he came back into the kitchen this is the first thing he told me, "Wow, your writing is terrible when you're sleepy."
"Shut up and read," I told him. At some point while I was grumplily eating my cereal, Corbyn had walked in. "Hi Corbyn."
"This is the song you get when you think about Y/n?" he sid with eyebrows raised. Zach snapped his head to look at me.
"You were thinking about Y/n when you wrote this?" he said with a small smile on his lips.
"Just read," I say and glare at both of them. When they finished reading, they placed the papers on the table. "So..."
"I like it," they say simultaneously.
"I mean," says Corbyn. "We'll make a few changes. But I like the basic idea of it." I nodded and finished my cereal.
"Then I guess we're going to the studio today," I tell them and go to my room to change into some clothes. After everyone was ready to go, we went to work on the song.
We had all made a few changes to it to make it better. After that, we got to work on the music. We had been there for a little under an hour before we took a water break.
I opened up my chat with Y/n and began texting.
D: Hi We're working a new song right now.
Y: Babe I'm in the middle of class
D: Tell them you have to go to the bathroom
Y: You are reckless. You know that right?
D: So are you in the bathroom?
Y: Sure, why?
D: I just wanted to talk to you.
Y: I'm going to get suspended Anyway, you were saying?
D: We're working on a new song
Y: Can I see?
D: Nope. It's a surprise.
Y: Well bye
Y/n left the chat.
D: Y/n? Y/n are you there? Aww come on. Don't just leave me. Y/NNNNNNNNN!!!
I looked down at my phone sadly. Staring at Y/n's last text. I turned the my phone off and slouched in my chair. I could hear Corbyn snickering behind me. "This is not funny," say without turning back to face him. "Y/n's not answering and she's ignoring me. I can't live without her talking to me!"
"Bro, we're live," says Jack. As he laughs from the other side of the table. My eyes widened and turned back to see that Corbyn was indeed filming everything. I groaned and sunk lower in the chair.
"Why is it always me."
Corbyn POV
I scanned the comments until suddenly a familiar username came up on the screen. My mouth shaped into the form of an 'o'.
"Oh gosh," I say trying not to laugh. "Y/n's watching the live." The look of terror on Daniels face was priceless. As he hid in his jacket. His blonde hair sticking up. Y/n commented something. "Y/n says; 'aww he's adorable 😘😛'."
I heard Daniels muffled voice saying, "Why do you do this to me Y/n?"
[Timeskip brought to you by my spotify playlist; MunchyN]
After the live we started working on the parts we were going to sing. The end result of the song was good. Obvously we were all going to reveal that Daniel was thinking of Y/n while writing it.
Y/n POV
I was sitting on my bed. My homework done and my laptop sitting in front of me. I was waiting for the premiere of What Am I. There were just five minutes left and then I felt my phone vibrate next to me. I begrudgingly picked up to answer them before the premiere.
I saw Daniel's name on the screen. He wanted to face time with me. I rolled my eyes at the sweet Giraffe and accepted his call.
"Hi Daniel," I say. Looking at his face through my phone.
"Are you watching the premiere?" he asks in a rushed voice. His question shocked me and my mind went blank for a second.
"Um yes," I say. Confusion evident in my voice.
"Okay, good," he says and takes a deep breath. "Keep watching." I furrowed my brows but stared intently at my laptop screen. The one minute countdown started and both Daniel and I stayed silent. The screen suddenly went black and two simple words appeared on the screen.
For Y/n
I couldn't help the small gasp that escaped my lips when I read those words. I gave a quick glance at my phone to see Daniel biting his lip nervously.
I met her on a Monday evening She was standing outside of the park and ride And I said, "Hey Ma where you been?" "Been looking for a woman like you for all my life"
I smiled sweetly at the words. Laughing softly because that was totally not how we met. It still made me feel all bubbly inside despite that.
And she said, "Hola, talk to me, before I have to leave" And one day we could be Maybe more than two lost souls just passing by
My smile widened when I heard the Spanish. A language I had always wanted to learn. (Unless you already know Spanish. Then you get the drill.)
Knew I was falling when I looked inside your eyes She said, "I know you are, but what am I?"
'I thought it was just me.'
Tell me, have you seen a sunset Turn into a sunrise? Kiss right through the night? 'Cause we should try that sometime Hold you 'til the mornin' And if I said I'm fallin', would you just reply "I know you are, but what am I?"
I closed my eyes as I listened to Daniels voice I started humming along to the song. Forgetting Daniel was watching me. I was also unaware as I started to softly sing along.
(Ah-ooh, Ah-ooh) What am I? (Ah-ooh) What am I? (Ah-ooh)
Open the door to my apartment, when we get in Kissin' on my neck and throw my jacket to the side And I know your heart is beating quick And if you put your head on my chest, hear the same in mine, yeah And we'll be making love Until the sun comes up But one day maybe I I could put a ring on your finger before you change you mind, yeah
I blushed profusely as I sang along to Zachs part. I bit my lip and I looked at my phone to see Daniel was also blushing. He tried to explain but was a stuttering mess. I just shushed him and continued watching the premiere.
Knew I was falling when I looked inside your eyes She said, "I know you are, but what am I?"
Tell me, have you seen a sunset Turn into a sunrise? Kiss right through the night? 'Cause we should try that sometime Hold you 'til the mornin' And if I said I'm fallin', would you just reply "I know you are, but what am I?
(Ah-ooh, ah-ooh) What am I? (Ah-ooh) What am I? (Ah-ooh) What am I? (Ah-ooh)
I felt tears pool around my eyes as I listened to the lyrics. This was the sweetest thing that had happened in a while during my life. The sound of the boys' voices was relaxing and soothing.
Tell me, have you seen a sunset Turn into a sunrise? Kiss right through the night? 'Cause we should try that some time Hold you 'til the mornin' And if I said I'm fallin', would you just reply "I know you are, but what am I?"
Tears ran down my cheeks and I brushed them away with my hand.
Tell me, have you seen a sunset (Yeah) Turn into a sunrise? Kiss right through the night? (Through the night) 'Cause we should try that sometime Hold you 'til the mornin' (Hold you 'til the morning) And if I said I'm fallin' , would you just reply "I know you are, but what am I?"
By now, tears were rolling down my cheeks like waterfalls. I didn't even bother hiding them. The screen went black on my laptop once again and these words appeared;
Will you be my girlfriend? -Daniel
My hands flew to my mouth as I gasped. The video ended and I closed my laptop. I threw myself back onto the pillows I laughed nervously beforr sitting back up. I wiped the the tears off my face as I looked at Daniel through face time.
"Oh my god," I gasped. "I don't know what to say." My lungs felt like they were being constricted. "I need more time to think about it." My heart shattered when I saw the frown on his face. I felt like I had just kicked a puppy.
"I'm sorry," I say and hang up. I buried my head under a pillow and let out a sob. "I'm not ready for this," I said to no one ib particular. "I'm not ready."
Daniel POV
I stared blankly at my screen. 'She hung up on me.' I tried to tell myself that she just needed more time. It's what she said. More time.
I turned off my phone and stared at my food blankly. I was having dinner with all the guys. They were all excited to see what she would say.
"Hey Daniel," says Corbyn, with a hopeful look on his face. I looked at him with tears threatening to spill. "What did she say?"
"She needs more time," I choked down a sob as I said it. I stood up and walked up to my bedroom. I needed to be left alone right now.
🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉🍎🍉
A/N: While writing this I found out they had written this song a year ago. But we can all just ignore that for the sake of my fanfic right? Thank you for reading my story and I would truly appreciate it if you voted and commented. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
