warnings: oral (f&m receiving), mommy kink, smut, smut, smut.
in which colby is afraid of thunderstorms and y/n is trying her best to help him relieve stress.
With a quiet sigh, you walked away from the desk where you had spent the last two hours, wasting the evening to watch a movie with the love of your life.
As you pulled up your chair and turned on your heel, your attention was caught by Colby with his head on the pillow. With his eyes closed and his raven hair creating a mess on his head, he had probably drifted off to sleep long ago. He was breathing steadily, and his presence didn't draw any attention to him at all. You smiled, staring at the image of the man you loved, and after a while you felt sorry. You promised him that you would spend the evening together, but you were more absorbed in your studies than you expected.
You took an empty spot on the bed and moved closer to him as quietly as possible so as not to wake him from his sleep. You carefully examined the features of his perfectly sculpted face. A pair of ocean eyes, a sharp and pointed noise, a strong and defined jaw, and carnation pink lips-those were the words that could describe him. From a third-person point of view, you could be perceived as a damn stalker. You refrained from kissing his slightly parted lips. Instead, you lifted your hand and caressed his face gently before running it through his hair.
The rain gently bounced onto the rooftop and the wind gently swayed the trees surrounding your home, creating some sort of a whistle sound as you laid in Colby's arms. Though you enjoyed the sounds of the storm outside, you knew it would only be a matter of time before your boy would wake up from the noise he always feared.
You rolled over towards your boyfriend and laid your head on his chest and threw your leg across his waist. You felt him run his hand up your thigh and stop right below your butt.
Colby shifted, taking a deep breath. You smiled at the sight of his dreamy, half-sleep face. Maybe he still felt like he was in a dream.
You removed your hand from his hair. A small look of dissatisfaction crossed his face. You heard the wind howling outside and the loud crack of thunder.
"Y/n?" He called out, as the wind got louder. "Don't stop, please." He purred with eyes closed, his voice more adorable than ever.
"Oh, I didn't mean to wake you up." You whispered, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead.
"It's okay," he mumbled as he turned to face you. "I missed you."
"Baby, I was right there." You laughed, going back to stroking his hair, which relieved his stress from loud sounds outside.
"I know, but you were busy studying. I'm sorry I fell asleep. I hate storms so much." His voice was deeper than normal, and God, it sounded so good on him. You placed a kiss on his bare chest and he rolled over so he was on top of you.
Another sound of thunder, louder than usual, made Colby flinch. He immediately buried his head in your neck and you grabbed his waist, bringing him as close to you as possible.
"My poor little boy is afraid of thunderstorms. Need someone to relax?"
"Yes, you." He nodded, continuing to caress you.
His kisses traveled down to your jawline where he placed kisses along it. His hands found their way to the bottom of your nightgown. Well, it wasn't really yours, more like his shirt that you now had to wear. You know he loves seeing you in his shirts, so you wear them to bed all the time.
He scrunched up the fabric until it reached right below your bare breasts. He placed lazy open mouth kisses along your stomach until he reached the top of your underwear. He hooked his fingers into the waistband of your underwear and pulled them down your legs. "I've barely touched you and you're already so wet" he said smirking at you. His voice was still pretty deep and groggy and you loved it. "You like that?" you asked, and he nodded hazily. "Good, 'm gonna fuck your mouth with it, love".
He kissed the inside of your thighs, making you moan. He took that as a cue and licked all the way to the tip. He started swirling his tongue around your clit, making you moan. You reached down and ran your fingers through his hair. He moved down and inserted his tongue into your entrance.
You weren't usually a vocal person, but it had been so long since you and Colby had done something together and it felt so good. He removed his tongue but quickly replaced it with his fingers and began to slide your tongue in and out. He moved up and pressed his lips against yours.
"What do you need me to do, hm?" you asked, tilting your head slightly. He began to kiss you again and you could feel his hard clothed member press against your bare thigh.
"Need you t'fuck me, mommy," Colby said obediently, sniffling as he looked back at you from his position. His pretty face was tear streaked, and his eyes were shiny with tears as he cried for you. "I've been so good, please," he begged shamelessly, his lip quivering. Colby's mind was focused solely on you, how pretty you were, how your touch felt.
He had wanted you for so long. And now he had you.
"On your back," you demanded softly, toppling him onto the broad back, "I want to taste you."
"If you do that, I’m afraid I won’t last." His breathing was coming out in ragged pants as you slid between his spread thighs. Colby watched with rapt attention, enjoying how your breasts swayed as you moved to lay flat on your belly.
"That’s alright," you assured, tongue darting out to lap at the seam beneath the head. And he moaned, such glorious music cutting straight to your core. What a symphony every groan and whimper was, even as you continued to tease with short licks and kisses. "I want you to come undone in my mouth."
"Get on with it, please." His hips thrust upwards, tip pressing past the barrier of your lips before you complied with his wishes. Hollowing your cheeks, you sank upon all that could be fit into your mouth as a warm fist enveloped the rest. His heady musk invaded your senses, cock twitching on your tongue, practically begging you to move. "Oh, fuck."
Colby’s deep bellow had been enough to spur you into a fervor, bobbing hungrily as his back arched off the mattress. Lithe fingers knotted in your hair, holding you still as he began to frantically fuck your throat. Pumping, striving, chasing that release while he imagined you bouncing atop him. He felt like he was on fire.
"I love you," he muttered between ragged breathing as you struggled to breathe out of your nose. "I love you so much, mommy."
Then the dam broke as he came down your throat, twitching and spasming until he was still against your tongue. Swallowing all of the seed that was earned, you broke away and began to clean his softening length before snaking up to curl upon that delightfully broad chest. "Good boy."

new years kiss!
summary: after multiple attempts of your best friend trying to set you up with her boyfriend's best friend, his best friend finally confesses his love for you.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
it was sunday night, new years eve. you were at your best friend, katrina's apartment. the both of you stood in her bathroom, standing in front of the mirror as you both applied your makeup for the night.
"i still don't know what to wear?" you mention whilst rummaging around in your makeup bag to find your eyeliner. you hand katrina the tube, the routine of her doing your eyeliner now becoming a regular reoccurrence, as you found it a struggle to do on yourself.
you sat on the bath ledge as she stood in front of you. "you can borrow anything of mine" she says, concentrating on the task in front of her. "but that white dress you brought over was so cute" she continues.
she brings up the eyeliner to your eye, and you close your eyes, making it easier for her. in two swift motions, she does a wing liner for both eyes.
"i bet colby will love it" katrina tries hiding a smile by tucking her lips in. "kat!" you shake your head at your best friends bluntness. "what, he will!" katrina exclaims.
"you're unbelievable!" you giggle, leaving her alone in the bathroom, now making your way into her bedroom. "i'm trying it on!" you shout.
you take off your hoodie and shorts that you were wearing and put on the short, white, lace dress you had brought along with you as an option for tonight.
"kat, come in here!" you tell her as you look at yourself in her bedroom, full-length mirror. she walks into the room, holding an eyeshadow in one hand whilst her another hand is occupied with putting eyeshadow on her lid.
"i love it!" she gasps. "you look so hot, y/n" katrina states. you bit your bottom lip whilst admiring the dress, "you don't think it's too much?" you ask, turning around to face katrina. "no, it's perfect," she reassures you.
"i guess this is it then." you take one more look at yourself in the mirror before following katrina back into the bathroom, "how're you thinking of doing your hair?" she asks. "just gonna straighten it," you reply, plugging in your hair straighteners.
"they won't be able to keep their hands off of us," katrina chuckles, making you shake your head.
Tumblr media
after both of you had finished getting yourself ready for the night, you were both cleaning up the mess made in the bathroom whilst waiting for the boys to come pick you both up.
when the doorbell rang, you quickly announced that you would get the door.
you made your way to the front door and swung it open. sam standing in front gave you a hug, "hey y/n," he smiles before walking around you to get inside.
colby was stood behind sam on his phone, but once sam moved, colby looked up - his eyes meeting yours. you gave him a smile as you discreetly scanned his outfit - black dress pants and a white dress shirt that had the first few top buttons undone whilst hair laid messily, some hair strands laying on his forehead.
"hey" he grins, "you look good," he says nervously before he follows sam. you look down at your outfit with furrowed eyebrows - just good?
"y/n-?" you hear katrina say. "yeah?" you shout back, turning around to the three of them now looking at you. "have you got everything?" katrina asks. you give her nod. "yeah, let's go guys" you squeal as you lead the way out.
just as katrina was locking her door, you realised you had forgotten your purse. "i forgot my purse!" you face palmed.
katrina sighs before turning around to you, she throws you her key. "lock up after" she states, you nod in response as you watch sam and katrina make their way down.
"you can go, you know, i'll be straight down," you direct to colby as you turn the key to open the door. "it's okay. besides, it's too early to be third wheeling them, " colby laughs. "in that case, i don't blame you," you smile, opening the door wider for colby.
"my bag's just upstairs, i'll be quick" you say before running up the stairs - or running the best you can in the heels you were in.
you grabbed your purse off of katrina's bed and made your way back downstairs. once you had made it to the downstairs hallway - you saw colby, taking off a mirror selfie.
he realises that you're watching him through the mirror reflection, so he turns to you, "wanna take a picture?" he asks. "uhm- yeah, sure" you shrug, making your way over to stand beside colby.
you look into the mirror and see colby biting his bottom lip before he shuffles discreetly closer to you. he let's his arm losely wrap around your front whilst his other hand held up his phone. he had titled his head, so he was looking at you. you felt the heat of his eyes burn into your skin as you looked at him through the mirror.
"you look beautiful," he whispers with a smile. you turn your head to look at him. he drops the hand holding the phone and stuffs his hand into his pocket of the dress pants he was wearing. he then steps closer whilst his other hand goes up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear.
your eyes had lost themselves in his blue ones, as the two of you stared lustfully at each other.
after what had felt like several minutes - though only a matter of a few seconds - colby took a step back before clearing his throat, "we should go" he announces, making you nod your head in agreement. "yeah, let's go"
Tumblr media
after you locked up katrina's apartment, both of you made your way to the parking lot, colby kept his hand on the small of your back, leading you to sam's car.
once reaching the car, colby moved his hand from your back to the car door handle. you frowned due to the loss of his warmth touch.
"you okay?" colby asks as he watches you, his eyebrows furrowed. your eyes widened whilst you looked up at him, realising you had gotten lost in thought. "yep, all good." you smile before giving him a thanks for opening the door. you climb into the other side of the car, taking a seat behind sam, who sat in the drivers seat. colby then followed in, sitting behind katrina, leaving the middle seat empty between us.
katrina called dibs on the aux as sam began driving, and colby turned his attention to his phone as he noticed the couple in front talking.
feeling bored, you rested your hand under your chin and looked out the window. anticipating for when you'd all arrive to the club.
whilst staring out the window, you feel colby shuffle around in his seat. looking out in the corner of your eye, you see him sliding over to the middle seat. he nudged your leg with his, waiting for you to turn your head around - and so you did.
you gave him a hum as you waited for him to speak up. "look at this," he says, pointing his phone towards you. you look into the phone as he plays a tiktok for you.
it was an edit of a tiktok from when him and sam lived in the traphouse - in the tiktok was also you and katrina, dancing to a trending song at the time. "you were terrible at that," you giggle after you'd watched the short clip. "blame that on the supposed teachers," colby shot you a look, and you returned the same look. "a teacher can only do so much if their students are -" you take a second to look him up and down, "well you," you grimaced playfully before letting out a small scoff.
colby shaked his head, "next time, try harder, sweetheart." colby winked before sliding back to his original seat. you directed your middle finger to him before dropping your hand down on your leg. you hear him chuckle before you turn your head again, looking out the same window.
you, colby, katrina, and sam had been friends for a long time now. you had met katrina a few months after she had started to date sam. so naturally, you joined their friendship group. you were especially close to the three you were currently in the car with. ever since meeting katrina - nearly six years ago - she would take any chance she could to try to set you and colby up. at first you never saw colby as anything more than a best friend but as time went on - you finally realised you had feelings for him. you were well aware that katrina had told sam about your feelings, but you didn't mind as much as he didn't tell colby about it.
after the short drive to the club, the four of you piled out of the car. colby helped you by covering you as you stepped out - pulling the hem of your dress down. "thank you," you say embarrassed, knowing your cheeks were growing a deep shade of red. "it's all good," he shrugs before taking your hand, "shall we?" he asks. you peek over his shoulder to see katrina and sam already walking in, "yeah, lets go." you began walking in the direction that you saw your friends walking in. colby was walking behind you, whilst your hands were still intertwined.
but once you had reached the entrance to the club, you saw paparazzi blocking the door snapping away with their cameras. you turned your head behind you to seek security off of colby.
colby understood the plea in your eyes and stepped in front of you, guiding you through the crowds of paparazzi. "excuse me, guys" he calls out whilst still having ahold of you.
during the many years of knowing sam and colby, you'd never seen paparazzi swarm them like this. katrina had now left sam's side and made her way inside alone.
when you looked up at colby, you realised he was talking to one of the men holding a camera. you gave the camera man a smile before turning away from the camera. your eyes fell and focused on yours and colby's hand - you tried pulling your hand out of his grasp, but that only made the grasp colby had on your hand tighter.
"and whose this?" you hear the man say, pointing his camera at you. your eyes shot up to colbys before he let out a chuckle. "she's - we're just -" colby begins stuttering before turning his head to the side once he hears his name being called out by sam. "sorry man, we gotta go" colby gently pushes past the crowd until you both reach safely inside.
"that was crazy," sam shakes his head. colby only nods at him before turning to you. "sorry about that, you okay?" he asks, you give him a nod, "it's not your fault, " you smile before turning to look at sam and katrina. "shall we guys?" you ask them. katrina eagerly squeals before taking your hand, running off with you into the crowds of drunken people.
katrina drags you onto the dancefloor, which was further down from where sam and colby stood.
you both give each other a glance when you realise the dj is playing 'promiscuous'. you and katrina joined in with the crowd on the floor and began dancing.
as the songs continued playing on, sam eventually made his way over to you both, holding three plastic glasses. two were cupped in either hand whilst the third was being held up by being in between his teeth. "here you go, ladies," he pipes up as he approaches beside you.
you give a thanks before taking a glass out of his hand. you knock down a shots' worth before wincing at the burn in your throat. "is this straight vodka?" you grimaced. sam takes the glass out from between his lips before chuckling, "yeah, sorry, that's mine" he says, reaching out with that same glass. you shook your head at the glass, "i'll keep this," you inform him. "you sure?" he asks. you give him a nod in response before moving beside katrina, who hasn't stopped dancing. only then does she stop dancing, taking a glass from sam.
your hips don't stop swaying to the music as you reach your hands above your head. you start singing along to the song, 'buy u a drink' you giggle as you watch katrina dance against sam, sam resting his hands on her waist whilst he whispered in her ear.
finding the couple sickeningly cute, you looked away from them. your eyes instantly falling on colby, who was already staring you down. he leant against the bar, with two others. jake and corey. they must have just arrived. moving your eyes back onto colby, you realise his lips are slightly parted. one of his hands held a drink whilst his other regularly ran through his hair. you turned your head back and focused on dancing with your friends.
katrina swayed her way over to you before whispering in your ear, "he's been staring for a while," she shouts before pulling away. she gives you a wink before moving back beside sam.
you look back at colby, his eyes now lay on a blonde, who was approaching him. he smiled at her as she began talking to him. the blonde played with her hair as she stood in front of him. you then notice jake and corey leave colby's side, the two of them shaking their heads at colby.
you huffed at the sight before finishing off your drink, settling it on a nearby table. you had lost sam and katrina in the crowd, so you started dancing alone until you felt someone come up behind you.
"what's a girl like you doing dancing all alone?" a deep voice says. you turn, looking up at the man. he gave you a smile before asking to join you. you gave him a nod as you slipped colby a look.
like the first time, he was staring at you. but this time, his eyes were narrowed whilst his eyebrows furrowed. he was chewing on his inner cheek whilst fiddling with his silver rings.
you pushed him out of your head and turned your attention to the man dancing with you.
"so, did you come alone?" the man asks. but before you could reply back, you felt a hand wrap around your wrist, pulling you.
your front collided with a familiar chest. you looked up at a furious colby, "the fuck she did" colby shouts. you looked up to those blue eyes and brushed yourself off of him. "what're you doing?" you ask, returning the same tone as him. "what do you mean 'what am i doing?', what the fuck are you doing?" he shouts over the music once again.
"shit bro, i didn't know she had a boyfriend." the man speaks up, you shoot him a look. "i don't," you shake your head before turning to colby.
"you're ao fucking annoying, y'know that" colby shakes his head before grabbing your wrist again, leading you both somewhere quiet. "colby, get off me," you complain.
colby had dragged you into a hallway that was quiet enough but still echoed the music that played.
"what was that?" he asks."nothing, i was just dancing," you shrug. "you can't tell me what to do, colby" you shake your head as you cross your arms over your front.
colby scoffs to himself before moving to stand in between my legs. "look at me" colby's voice comes out as a whisper. "when do i ever wear white?" colby asks, "fuck, when do i wear anything that isn't black" he says again.
"i'm not getting the point to this -" you shrug.
"i asked kat what you were wearing tonight, i wanted to match with the girl i was gonna share my new years kiss with, i wanted to match with the girl i was going to ask to be my girlfriend tonight" he shakes his head.
"i'm in far too deep when it comes to you, y/n" he sighs as he lets his forehead rest against yours. "i didn't want to see some other dude's hands all around you, and i lost it, i'm sorry. i fucking ruined it" he curses.
you gulped down the lump in your throat as you look up to colby's blue eyes. "colbs" you whisper. he hums before looking at you. "you haven't ruined it," you assure him.
the both of you stand there in silence with smiles plastered on your faces.
the echo of a ten second countdown is heard from the hallway, making you and colby widen your eyes.
"three" colby chuckles. "two" you giggle. "one" you both smile into a kiss.
"happy new year, colbs"
"happy new year, sweetheart"

It was a fourth of July party your friend group was throwing. Sweaty bodies dancing against each other as loud music played. Fireworks could be heard at times. You bump into multiple bodies on your way to the kitchen to receive something stronger to drink. For some people with good money, the drinks sure were cheap. They spent money on different items for the party, yet they couldn’t buy drinks that didn’t taste like shit.
Grabbing a red solo cup, you clambered up the counter top carelessly. You stand on top of the counter and open up a cabinet. As you took out a bottle of vodka and poured it into your cup, you heard a deep chuckle drowned by music come from behind.
“Risking your life for some vodka is kind of crazy, don’t you think?” was heard behind you. Slowly pulling the cup away from your lips, that also covered half your eyesight, Colby was seen. He was leaning against the door frame. Fidgeting with his rings as his gaze was locked on yours.
You playfully role your eyes at him and take another sip, “It’s—like—a 3ft fall, I think i’ll be fine.” Colby roles his eyes back, walking towards you. He looks up and lends you a hand, helping you down from the counter. The loud music smothered both your voices. His body stirred adjacent to you, he peered inside the cup and raised his eyebrows slightly. Something you wouldn’t have noticed if his face wasn’t so close to yours. “Problem?” You asked him. His eyes shifted to yours. He tilted his head slightly and mumbled a quick no.
Colby was one of your best friends. Though one time.. one time.. there was a moment between you guys. A moment where you two shared a kiss. Neither of you were sure how you got in that position, but it was something that was never spoken about. It was left to linger in the air between you. You can’t lie, it was something that never ever left your mind. A memory that was engraved in your brain. It replayed over and over again every time you saw him.
Now here you were again. Drunk and not thinking straight. He was right in front of you, also drunk. His face so close to yours, you can practically feel him breathing. Suddenly, his face seemed to start getting closer.
Both your lips connected. Again. His lips were as soft as last time. But the kiss was more hot. More desperate. Colby reached down to the back of your thighs and lifted you to sit on the counter. His lips moving down to kiss your jaw, down to your neck.
“Do you know what you do to me? Do you know how many goddamn times i’ve thought about that kiss? You’re so fucking perfect.” His voice was muffled by your neck, as well as the music. He created a few purple marks.
You let out a small laugh, “You think I haven’t?” He started kissing up your jaw again, then back to your lips. His hips rolled against yours as he took a hold of your thighs to bring you to the edge of the counter, closer to him. Your tongues danced together. He slipped a hand underneath your dress, on your bare thigh, and let it linger for a moment. Silently asking for consent. When you didn’t say anything, he was quick to lift your dress up to your waist.
At that moment, both of you had completely forgotten you were—technically—in public. You guys were in the kitchen, the galley kitchen where no one was allowed, but still. Anyone could’ve walked in at any given time.
He slipped off your underwear as he sunk to his knees. Taking a look at your, already wet, cunt.
“Jesus. Could you get any more perfect?” With that, he let his head dip forward and suck on your clit. His arms wrapped around your thighs to keep you in place.
“Oh fuck..” You let out quietly as your back arched slightly. Hand flying to his hair as the other kept you steady on the counter. His tongue going all over your pussy. Making sure every inch was getting the attention it deserved. Licking and sucking. He let his right hand move from your thigh. Two of his fingers teased your entrance, slowly making their way inside of you. He groaned lowly as he started sucking and licking your clit. His fingers began pumping into you.
You moaned louder. Not caring about anything else; the music was too loud anyway. Your back arched and thighs shook. You started to feel that familiar knot. Colby knew that too. So he started speeding up. He looked up at you, mumbling praises as if you could hear them.
“Cum for me, Sweetheart. Be a good girl and cum for me. All over my face,” He said, loud enough for you to hear. It brought you over the edge. He quickly removed his fingers, that way he could taste all of you. He let you ride your high before getting up and putting his fingers in your mouth. Eyes staring at you with lust as you tasted yourself.
He’s starting to believe he has never been that hard before.
His fingers slip out of your mouth and kissed you again. Your hands fly to unbutton his pants, pulling them down along with his boxers. You break the kiss. As much as you try not to, you stared. Questioning if it would even go all the way in before it started to hurt. He grabbed your face and lifted it up.
“Be a good girl,” He said before giving you a kiss and teasing your entrance once again. This time, with his tip. Your small whine was music to his ears. He slowly thrusted inside you, letting you get used to his size. You weren’t sure you ever would be. “You’re so tight,” He groaned.
When you gave him an affirmative small nod, he thrusted slowly again and again. He took his time with you. Until he didn’t. He started rocking his hips faster. Neither of you bothered hiding your moans as he fucked you. You clawed at his back, and he clawed your hips. You were more than sure there would be bruises tomorrow.
His rhythm continued even when he was close. His fingers making small circles on your clit so you could come faster, but your previous actions had gotten that covered already.
You began to feel it again. Colby kept his pace, muttering sweet nothings into your ear. One of his hands tangled up in your hair, pulling your head back so he could kiss you as he brought both of you closer to euphoria.
“So fucking close, baby,” He groaned into your mouth. “I know you are too. Cum for me again.” After a few more thrusts, you were once again, brought to exhilaration. You arched your back into him, moaning his name loudly.
Colby groaned loudly into your ear as he coated your walls. His hips started to falter. After riding it out, he stopped. Slowly pulling out of you, he grabbed a napkin to help clean you up. He put your underwear back on and pulled your dress down. When he finished helping you, he tidied himself up as well.
“You’re so amazing, you know that?” He whispered loud enough so you could hear. “You did so good, Sweetheart.” His lips connected to yours once again. You couldn’t help but let out a small laugh and ‘thank you’.
“Maybe we should go… before they realize the party animal is gone.” He said as he helped you off the counter once again and his eyebrows wiggled slightly towards you.

'𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩'| colby brock x male oc
a/n: enjoy ;) summary: sam, colby, corey and jake plan to go to the witches forest, little do they know, they’ll meet a friend of jennifers. he’s a lonely medium studying witchcraft, what happens when colby starts to feel a pull towards him? his feelings confuse him, and make him question himself.
words: 8.8k (TOO FUCKING MANY, i got lost in the sauce🫠)
sam sat on his couch, dialing the number of the woman him and colby met at the stanley hotel. the latter began to film as she picked up.
“hello?”
“hi is this jennifer?” they shared a look towards eachother, acknowledging the awkwardness.
“yes, this is she.”
“sweet uh.. about that forest, was that a legit offer? colby and i have been talking over the past few weeks and maybe.. are you in la now?” he asked, curiously.
“yeah i am”
“cool so maybe tomorrow or later this week we could meet up, and we’d probably be filming it so if that’s cool with you, you could tell us more like about what the forest is and then maybe like find time to schedule to go out there or something?”
“yeah we can meet up.” jennifer said ominously.
“okay cool, maybe tomorrow we’ll schedule a time then.” sam started to laugh from the awkwardness, and immediately after the phone call was over he threw the phone onto the table and freaked out. “why is it so awkward?” he cringed.
“everytime we talk to her.” colby chuckles.
they both start talking to the camera about their plans with the witches forest, and planning a whereabouts for the meetup.
a day had past, and sam, colby and jake were in the car, driving to the area where they were supposed to meet up with jennifer. colby had parked very close to another car in attempts to not be in the way of someones driveway. “can’t park in this driveway brother, gonna get a ticket.”
“can’t go to jail again.” sam laughs.
“we’re in a neighborhood, it’s not that sketchy.” sam commented, as they all start talking about how creepy this whole situation was, joking about getting murdered.
they walk into the park, and they look around until they see two people sitting at a park bench. “hey!” sam calls out, as he sees them. “nice to see you again!” he goes in for a hug with jennifer.
“how was the shoot and everything?” he asked.
“it was good.” she responded, nodding her head, before looking over to her friend, the guy next to her. jennifer didn’t really care about meeting up with strangers but elias, found it sketchy, so he decided to come along as some sort of backup.
“hey, i’m elias, good to meet you.” he shook hands with the person closest to him, colby.
“nice to meet you too.” colby smiled, curious about the guy infront of him. he looked pretty cool, his sense in fashion was definitely something out of a vintage movie. his hair was dark brown, about medium length. he had brown circle glasses pushed towards his nose, contrasting his freckled face.
from what he was wearing, you could see a few tattoos under his sleeves, along with a few different ear piercings. ‘damn this guy is cool’ he felt like some kind of fangirl.
as sam talked to jennifer, colby starting asking questions to the other. “are you also into the paranormal?”
“yeah. i grew up around it my entire life, and now it just seeks me out i guess.” he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “how’d you get into it?”
“that’s the same as one of my friends, corey.” he acknowledges. “honestly it’s not that exciting, me and my buddy sam would explore like abandoned places and stuff then it became haunted areas and now we think we’re haunted.”
“that’s cool.” suddenly jake climbs onto the picnic table, creating a thud sound. “jesus jake.” colby laughed.
“so do you guys chill at the park often?” jake tries to make conversation with the two.
“yeah.” they answer at the same time. the camera is held facing jennifer as she begins to explain why the cabin is haunted, and why it’s called the witches forest.
“you really have to figure it out yourself.” elias commented, chuckling.
“so you’ve been there too?” sam interrogates him.
“you could say that, i also own a cabin about a mile out.”
“would you say it’s haunted?”
“oh definitely, in 1946 a couple moved into the cabin and after a few years they started like experiencing financial issues, and it caused a lot of stress between them and eventually the husband started drinking, and one night he killed his pregnant wife before shooting himself in the head.” elias smirked, watching their jaws drop. “let’s just say i’m not legally able to rent it out anymore because of what happened to the last guests we had.”
“holy shit.” sam looked to the guys, with wide eyes.
“that’s actually insane.” colby said, rubbing his eye. “so do you live there or just use it as a vacation spot?”
“bit of both honestly, the spirits don’t bother me much. i was just there a few days ago and i stayed about three months, left with tons of scratches and stuff.” elias explained.
“do you still have visible marks?”
“yeah, the longest one is on my leg, i can show you if you like.” the guys nodded, so he stands up and props his leg on the park bench, before rolling up his black pants. quickly a red shiny scratch is visible. it starts at his ankle and goes underneath his thigh. “it’s one of the weirder marks i’ve gotten. it’s shiny and feels almost like a burn, like blistered over and stuff.”
“holy shit, that’s crazy.” jake muttered.
“i don’t know if we should do this anymore.” colby laughs, jokingly crying.
“so on a scale of one to ten, how is this a good idea or are we going to die.” sam wondered.
“let’s just say it’s scarier then the stanley hotel.” jennifer answered.
“is that the key?” jake zooms into colby holding the key to the cabin. colby pauses for a second, having an idea. “would you let us see your cabin?” he asks to elias.
“uhh, i don’t know, i would have to be there to supervise.” “not just because i don’t know you, but also for you’re protection. the spirits know me well, even the negative ones, they don’t like other people.”
“jesus.” colby mumbles. “is that why you can’t rent it out anymore.” he nods slowly.
“we have a friend out there that we met from the summer camp thing. a few of them are still there. elias can probably get in contact with one of them to help you out. since they’re both wiccans.”
“so you’re friend is a... wait you’re a wiccan?” sam asks towards elias, pointing the camera in his direction, receiving a half nod.
“after i became a medium it slowly transitioned into exploring witchcraft, i wouldn’t like 100% consider myself a wiccan but i do partake in that stuff.” he holds up his pagan necklace.
“wow, so does your friend live around the cabin?”
“yeah.”
“now i see why it’s called witches forest.” sam laughed hesitantly.
“so a lot of people there are wiccans i’m assuming?” colby asks, before receiving a nod. “witches forest, wiccans.” he does a weird voice to express how crazy this situation is.
“this is awesome, thank you so much for this, we would probably just of done another hotel video.” sam thanked her. “should we call corey?” he asks to the guys.
everyone begins to say goodbye, colby hugging jennifer and elias. “we’ll let you know how it goes.”
“but uh, i just wanted to say, i haven’t been there in awhile so be careful.” jennifer calls out to them.
jennifer and elias start walking back to their apartment. he glances towards the group they had just encountered. “they seem cool, colby’s pretty nice.”
“yeah i guess. i’m surprised you didn’t give them the key.”
“first, they’re strangers, second, they seem like novices, i don’t want their deaths to be on my hands.” elias joked.
“you could’ve gone with them.” she shrugs. elias pauses for a moment, thinking about it. maybe he should. they are trying to find the most haunted areas..
“i’ll think about it.”
it was early morning of the next day, and elias had been messaging with colby since he woke up talking about whether or not he should go up with them. colby has been trying to persuade him, borderline begging him to come. they think it would be awesome for the video and their paranormal experience.
and secretly colby just wants to get to know him as well.
the four boys were in their car, on the way to the first house, to talk to a wiccan who is offering a reading, and more information on the witches forest.
“i was thinking about what the physic said a lot last night, about how corey and i are in danger, and i think they could be right. i hope we have service because we’ve never been in this forest, who knows, like what if we get lost right? that’s why i think bringing elias, who knows the area could be helpful.”
“honestly yeah, and he seems like a cool dude so.” jake shrugs, agreeing with the idea. corey then calls and agrees to come, making everyone so much more relieved.
“let’s just act like we’re going to a cabin in the woods.” corey says, trying to lighten the mood as he gets into the car.
they keep on driving, about twenty minutes out, pulling over only to get jake some food because he kept complaining about being hungry. they pull into a burger king, and grab some food. colby suggests sitting at a table so he can fill both corey and the viewers in about elias and the other wiccan.
“just to catch everyone up, we got some food and we are ten minutes away from the forest!” sam starts it off.
“i’ve been texting with both this wiccan and elias, who agreed on meeting us, but they want to meet us at her house. she was just like ‘yeah swing by, and i’ll show you my tarot cards and stuff.’”
“well, let’s hope we don’t die.”
they walk out to the parking lot, and talk a bit more, explaining to corey. “me, colby, and jake met up with jennifer and this new guy, elias, so the reason why he’s texting to this random wiccan is because they’re friends, them two would meet up with her at summer camp, and she’s going to tell us about the area.” sam said.
as they start driving, they encounter the fog of the mountains, and they struggle to see out the window.
“yeah, elias is going to be with the wiccan, so atleast it’s not like we’re by ourselves with a complete stranger.” colby mentioned.
“well we don’t really know him either.”
“better then completely alone though.” he shrugged, continuing to drive until google maps said he was at the correct address.
“so what have they told you?” sam asked.
“nothing really, just gave us the address and said see you then.” colby explained, shutting the car door. they walked up to the door, not even having to knock before someone opened the door. “hey colby!” elias said, arm on the door.
“yoo hey.” colby gave a hug before smiling. “thanks for taking up our offer on this, having you here and talk about some of the stuff is super great for the video.”
colby felt nervous, seeing elias stand confidentially at the door, he looked more relaxed today, grey sweatpants, black hoodie and his usual brown glasses. you can tell he wasn’t planning on coming.
in the light, it was much easier to see his face. he also realized elias’ hair was slightly curly.
“yeah it’s no problem.” elias said as the other wiccan presented herself. “good to see you again.”
“hey, how are you guys?” she asked. “wanna come in? if you don’t mind i’ll have to sage you though.”
“yeah it’s no problem.”
after the boys were saged, they sat around the table and began to talk about the witches forest. “so why is it called witches forest?” sam asked, getting down to business.
“there’s a lot of rituals that go on in this area, it used to be a spot with mobsters, there’s a lot of satanic rituals, which aren’t as bad or evil as you would think.” elias nods along, agreeing with her.
“so you guys would consider yourselves wiccans in the way that you both study witchcraft.
“yes, i identify as a wiccan, but i feel like it has a different perception of what you would think.”
“okay so can you explain that to us.” sam asked.
“i like to live my life by the moon cycles, so full moon would be a time of like creativity and energy, where as new moon is more introspective and..” she trails off as the door opens for the second time.
“we’re trying to spend the night here, in the forest. do you think that’s a good idea or bad idea?”
elias grimances, shaking his head.
“what’s that supposed to mean?!” corey fake cries.
“a lot of people have died up there.. not recently so i don’t think you’ll die.” she says positively. “if you want we can do a little tarot reading.” she suggests, waving over elias to help her with it.
“tarot reading?” colby repeats asking for clarification.
“tarot cards really tell you what you’re feeling subconsciously, and they help give insight into the past, your future, or the present. and basically however you relate to the card, it tells you what’s going on with your inner-self or stuff you may be doing.” he explains, before sageing the cards.
“this basically helps to detach anything thats holding onto the cards, so for example, the past readings she’s done, it’s possible that those readings could effect yours. so when i sage the cards, it clears anything on them.” he hands over the cards to colby, who passes them to sam, to jake and then to corey, to get their presence onto the cards.
she takes the cards and sets them onto the table. a few gasps come from the guys after seeing the death card, “none of these are bad, so don’t be afraid.”
“the tower is an iffy card in my opinion, so it means danger and destruction, it’s basically like a very sudden unforeseen change, which means you have to rebuild. it can lead to the next chapter of your life. so it starts out negative and eventually it leads to rebuilding which is positive.” elias explains.
“yeah and chaos isn’t always a bad thing, which relates to the death card.” she taps onto it.
“the next chapter of my life is death?” sam asked.
“no.” elias answered shortly. “the death card will almost never mean death or represent anything like that. it’s typically more like the end of an era, so it implies new beginnings. it also is commonly known as the card that describes self awareness.” he was briefly interrupted by a bang upstairs.
“this card is all about fear and anxiety.” she points out. “but not a real fear, more like you’re worrying about something too much. like it’s in your head, like when you can’t sleep and you’re terrified but it’s not something that you should be worrying about. it’s more like you’re imagining something, like making up a problem.”
“like making conspiracy theories about yourself.” jake adds in, earning weird looks from colby and sam.
“just being scared of something that isn’t that big of a deal, like you’re more afraid then you need to be.” elias adds.
“that’s basically our group.” sam comments.
they talked more about the different chapters of their life, corey refusing to do more tarot. she gave more advice on how to keep the guys safe at their campsite, like taking the sage, having a ring of salt and holding hands.
elias watches as they huddle into the corner of the room and talk about some of their plans together. “honestly guys, i don’t know if i can do this.” corey admits. “this shit is crazy, we don’t need more spirits trapped with us.”
“i think we just have to hurry up because it’s a few hours from sundown, and we don’t know the area too well, i don’t want us to get lost.” sam comments.
“do you think we should invite elias?” colby asked.
“brother, now why would we do that.” corey said, shaking his head.
“he knows the area, and i think he would be awesome for content, he can tell us more stories, we can get to know him and maybe do more ghost stuff with him in the future.”
“i’m down.” jake shrugs.
“we don’t know him very well, but i do think he’d be beneficial for this.” sam doesn’t seem to care that much.
“okay well i won’t invite him if you guy’s arent sure.” they all to look corey.
“fine, but i swear to god if he murders us, i’m going to murder you again.”
“okay awesome!” colby walks away from the guys and up to elias. “i was wondering if you wanted to come with us, like to our campsite.”
“oh. uhh, i mean i guess i could hang for a bit, but it would probably be weird to stay the night with you guys. my cabin isn’t too far away in the forest so i’ll go back there once you guys are settled in.”
“we’d be chill if you wanted to stay the night in a tent beside us or something, but it’s cool if not.”
“i’ll figure it out later.” he shrugs, and follows the guys to the car. elias sits in the passenger seat, sam giving it up to sit in the back, so he didn’t have to sit squished next to strangers.
they began to drive in the direction of witches forest, taking a right turn onto a gravel road.
“so where do you suggest us staying the night exactly?”
“well i would say definitely be near one of the main roads, so you’re near your car, but as in area, if you keep going down here, there’s some pretty flat ground with trees surrounding it.” elias points in the right direction.
they pull into a blank area, and start gathering their stuff. “just down this way.” he leads, while helping carrying one of their bags.
“awesome, thank you.” sam thanks him, actually kind of surprised how much this stranger was helping them.
“do you need help setting up your tent, or?” he wondered.
“uhh..” jake mumbled, knowing he’s never put up a tent in his life.
“that is a possibility.” sam chuckles. ”so like, did you group up in california or elsewhere?” he took what colby said earlier, about getting to know him, and ran with it.
“oh uh, no i grew up in a small town out of seattle, but i moved to la when i was 17.” elias answered, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
“oh cool. why’d you leave seattle?” jake asked.
“just bad memories i guess.” he took a deep breath. “the house i grew up in.. my brother he died there when i was 6. his death brought me into the paranormal world.”
“oh, i’m sorry for your loss.” colby commented, beginning to build the tent.
“don’t be.” elias laughed it off. “it was a pretty natural death, he was born with heart complications, honestly a miracle he lived till 14. he was very positive and i’m sure he wouldn’t want people mourning, so i choose not to i guess.”
“that’s a good way to look at it.” colby smiled at the other. colby took a liking to him, he wasn’t sure why though but it felt like something was pushing him to get to know him.
“so you said you’re a medium?” corey asked, helping colby with the tent.
“yeah, the thing with my brother, it guided me to other spirits and i just kind of fell into it all. i feel things more the most people, i hear more, i sense more.” he paused. “i don’t feel any presences here but i feel sadness and regret.”
“that’s honestly really cool, so to become a medium does it need to be something that happens to you or can you like learn and study to become one?” colby asked, setting up the camera on a camping chair, pointed to elias.
“in my opinion it has to come to you, you can’t work for it. if you are gifted with the ability you can learn and study to enhance it but you can’t force it.”
“the tent’s looking good.” corey nodded towards it. “but i swear to god i don’t want to sleep here.” he begs, making everyone laugh.
once everything was set up, and looking good, elias decided to leave. “i’ll probably head up to the cabin.” he says, rubbing the back of his neck.
“yo, you sure?” jake asks, actually wanting him to stay. in the past few hours they’ve all been vibing pretty hard.
“yeah no pressure to leave.” colby said, giving him a smile.
“i don’t wanna intrude too much on your video or anything, but feel free to come to the cabin if you have any problems or something crazy happens. can’t promise staying at the cabin will be any better but still. i have wifi, hot water, beds, all that stuff so don’t be shy.” elias smiled back.
“alright, thank you.” sam nodded.
“make sure to say goodbye before you leave though!” elias called out, as he walked away.
“bye!” colby shouted.
“cya!” jake yelled.
“dude, you’re staring.” corey pointed out, laughing at his friend. colby turned to look at him, before rolling his eyes.
“shut up, i just think he’s cool.”
corey winked to sam and jake, them chuckling to eachother.
it was hours later, maybe 3 or 4, and elias was in his cabin, drinking a glass of wine, while reading one of the books from the old bookshelf. his days here were simple. he’d tend to the plants, garden, read some books and drink wine. he wish he had a more extroverted life, and would sometimes regret missing out on opportunities. such as hanging out with the guys back at the campsite.
he wondered why he didn’t just stay, when they were clearly okay with him there, but he was still unfortunately a stranger. they were okay with him there, but they didn’t want him there.
‘god i need friends’, he thought. he’s been so lonely, his only friend being jennifer, and they weren’t all that close anymore since he’s started studying witchcraft. elias has only had a few friends in his lifetime, people thinking he’s weird or abnormal for his interests and gifts, and he’s only been in one relationship which ended around 6 months.
he honestly hasn’t felt that interested in people, elias finds them too generic, but he did take interest in the group. no matter how goofy they all seemed, they were cool. especially colby, he seemed to care the most. and he was kinda cute so that’s a plus. but he was probably straight.
he paused, hearing a bang upstairs, before sighing. his only friends are the spirits of the forest. he took his glasses off and gave them a rub, as they got a bit foggy.
‘maybe a bath will ease my mind’ as he began to run a bath he heard a scream for help. his eyes widened at the voice, that was definitely colby.
“help!” it was a gut-retching scream. elias turned off the bath, and as he was running to the front door, he turned the outside lights on, immediately lighting up the area.
“colby?!” he called out, opening the door.
“elias?!” suddenly, he came into view. “holy fuck, thank god.” he sighed, relieved. he rushed to the door.
“what the hell happened out there? where is everyone?”
“i-i i got lost, i don’t know where i am, i was chasing after a shadow and i thought sam and jake were after me but i went in circles and i walked for so long it’s been like 15 minutes and i don’t know where they are.”
“woah, colby are you hurt?” elias reaches out to the others side, seeing a few smaller scratches. he gently touches them, earning a hiss out of colby.
“ouch.” he chuckles. “anyways, i really need help finding them, i don’t know what the fuck happened.”
“you said you saw a shadow figure? was it just a shadow or were there any visible descriptions?”
“just a shadow.” he shrugs, shivering a bit.
“theres been a few people spotting shadows around here, a lot of people think one of the main shadows, it’s of a larger male and it’s predicted that it’s the spirit of the husband i told you guys about earlier, and that he’s stuck in this forest as punishment.”
“jesus.” colby exhales.
“here, come in for a second, i’ll get you a heavier jacket and i’ll get a bandage for your side.”
“oh, thank you so much.” colby rubs his neck, awkwardly standing in the others home. “this cabin is actually beautiful.” he said, not expecting it.
“haha yeah, i take pride in it. nobody ever is here to see how gorgeous the wood and plants are.”
“oh why’s that?”
“i just don’t have many friends.” elias said, while grabbing a few items. “gets lonely up here.”
“hey well, you can consider us friends, i think you’re cool as hell.” colby smiles, taking the jacket, and putting it over his shoulder. “it would be awesome to have you come with us to other haunted places.”
“i-” elias was about to decline, before he thought for a minute. he knew he would regret declining. “sure, why not.” he gestured for colby to move his arm so he could wrap his side.
“that should do it.” he gave him a pat on the shoulder. “now, we really have to get you back to your friends, they’re probably freaking out.”
“yeah.” colby agreed, rubbing his side.
“do you mind if i spend the night with you guys? i have a feeling.. like i can feel something bad in your future, and i don’t think it’s safe for you guys alone.”
“oh god..” colby sighed, not ready for whatever he’s talking about. elias grabbed a few more things, and shoved it into a backpack. “it would be appreciated if you stayed with us.” he laughed it off, pretending he didn’t care too much, but he actually felt pretty nervous about the idea.
he’s never really found guys that attractive or anything but something about elias, it wasn’t even his looks, something about his personality or dare he say ‘spirit’ was alluring. colby just needed to know more, needed to get close to him.
“okay, let’s go.” he said, turning off the house lights, and turning on his flashlight.
they walked through the forest, trying to avoid all of the unnerving noises they heard. “thank you.” elias said quietly.
“what? why?”
“because, today has been the most social interaction i’ve had in awhile.” he chuckled. they continued to walk in peaceful silence, colby instinctively walking closer to elias. they smiled to eachother, elias having to look away and blush out of sight. ‘jesus, what is happening to me.’
they walked a bit more, and finally began to see bright lantern lights, similar to colby’s. “guys!” he shouted.
“no way, colby!” corey shouted, running straight to him out of relief.
“guys!”
“holy shit it’s colby!”
“colby!”
“what the fuck happened to you.” sam shook his head. they all looked closer and saw another person. as they got closer they realized it was elias.
“holy shit.” corey exclaimed.
“are you okay bro?” jake asked.
“the shadow person, i kept chasing it, i saw it again. it ran so i ran after it, i ended up going in circles and i got lost so i started screaming for help and i saw a cabin, thank god it was elias’.
“did you hear the scream? it was like a female scream.” sam explained.
colby went to sit in a chair, his side aching. “no i didn’t, i scratched my side though.” he lifted his shirt to show the bandage.
“dude, me and jake saw like a baby or something small hung.” sam said.
“bro, i looked at it, and my first thought was that it was a baby hanging, it was swaying and everything.”
“wait.. you said you saw a baby hanging?” elias looked at them in pure shock. “holy fuck.. you saw her.” he mumbled.
“what?” sam asked, eyes wide.
“what the fuck is going on.” corey shouted.
“the.. the story i told you guys, about the husband killing his pregnant wife. a few people i rented the cabin out to, they would see shadows of a hanging dead baby outside the windows.”
“holy fuck!” corey screamed, jumping before walking a few steps away.
“that is fucking crazy.” jake exclaimed, holding onto his head.
“i can’t believe this.” sam held the camera, beginning to shake. “okay, a rule, we can’t separate again.”
they began to talk about what the shadow could’ve been, talking about the biker kids they had seen earlier in the day.
“it definitely was not a biker, you would’ve heard it a mile away, and nobody just goes for a walk in the middle of the night.” elias shakes his head in disbelief at the situation.
“i’m not staying out here any longer.” jake says, running into the tent. everyone else begins to pack away their stuff, making sure that if they got scared again, they could leave without having to worry about their scattered belongings.
sam pulls out the camera once everything is put away, and gives the viewers a quick update. “just a little update guys, we did clean up our entire campsite, and now we’re going to chill in here for a little bit, because we don’t know what’s out here.” he gestures inside the tent.
“is it alright if i stay here? i don’t feel like walking back to the cabin.” he asks.
“oh yeah of course.” sam practically invites him in. “you’ll just have to deal with our gross selves.”
“i think i’ll be fine, i was a babysitter for 3 years of my life.” he joked, earning laughs from everyone.
a small fight ensues about sleeping bags with the guys, and elias sits off to the side of the tent, not wanting to get too close and make anyone uncomfortable. he watches as colby pokes around at corey’s pocket.
“brotherrrr, scared the fuck outta me.” corey cries out. “it’s either colby hitting on me again or a ghost.” elias laughed at that.
“i like to use shrek’s belly as a pillow.” jake mumbles, away from the drama.
a few minutes go by, and bugs in the tent frighten elias, while sam and colby start swatting at them before jake and corey talk about the white people face. elias, guilty of making that face more then once tonight.
the rest of the night was filled with fivesome jokes, jake playing with shrek into the camera, dance parties, sam touching more spiders in the tent, and colby trying to rest his eyes.
he originally laid near corey, between him and elias. he was resting on the end of his sleeping bag, feeling exhausted with the night so far. after another bug was squashed, they placed the camera back in the center of everyone.
elias was the closest to the camera, slightly out of frame, colby close by, corey leaning to the front, jake beside him, and sam on the other side also out of frame. “who keeps farting?” colby asked jokingly annoyed.
“yo what is that smell bro.” colby started cringing, holding his nose, causing everyone to laugh, corey the most.
“who farted dude?” jake commented about the smell looking towards sam.
“i don’t smell anything.” he shrugged carelessly, elias agreeing with him.
“yeah cause it was you!”
“someone ripped ass, and it was me two minutes ago.” corey revealed, laughing like a madman.
“my face was right by your asshole!” colby shouted, making a disgusted face to the camera before slowly shuffling away from the guy, and closer to elias. he dramatically collapsed onto elias’ leg and begged him not to do the same.
colby found his leg oddly comfortable, holding onto it like a pillow. he didn’t want to get too over the top and make elias uncomfortable, so tried to stay away from the boys lap.
then, it was back to jake putting shrek up to the camera, pretending to ring an imaginary doorbell.
“look guys, stop recording if we’re actually going to fuck.” corey pulled his sleeping bag over his face.
“yeah i don’t wanna be on camera.” elias said, holding his hands up, making everyone snicker. it was kind of awesome how they could go from complete strangers, thinking eachother was creepy, to then making jokes like this.
speaking of jokes, everyone made comments about colby and how he was sleeping all cuddly on the other, and god was it unbearable.
it was awkward, and uncomfortable but oddly enough, the friendly teasing felt better then being alone, so he dealt with it, and listened to corey’s little story about the boys and the shadowman.
suddenly, noises started getting louder. exhales, footsteps, bangings. corey felt uncomfortable, and kept demanding to leave the tent. everyone paused, trying to listen to the surrounding sounds, sam hearing a car, and elias hearing thuds.
“yo, should we just try to go to sleep?” colby asked, genuinely really tired.
“uh, no.” corey answered like it was obvious
elias felt the need to interrupt. “listen, the noises are obviously scary and whatever, but you need to understand that you guys are overthinking. think back to the tarot cards. you are scaring yourselves.” he tried to explain, as a way to calm them down.
it definitely didn’t work, corey hearing another exhale, and telling everyone to get out of the tent as a safety precaution.
eventually everyone began to rush out of the tent, into darkness, sam screaming for someone to get a light. elias put on his glasses, and grabbed a flashlight, pointing it around the camp.
he heard rustling coming from a near bush and started walking up to it, he peeked around trying to find what the noise could’ve been. “elias, hurry up!” sam called, as everyone began running to the car.
he caught up to them, not caring anymore and jumping in the back with jake and corey. “holy fuck.” he exhaled. “where are we going?”
“jennifer’s cabin.” corey replied, nodding at the idea.
sam’s phone started to ring as colby was driving on a tight road. “yo, yo, look!” he answered the call, everyone hearing absolute gibberish. it was random noises, deep exhales and other strange noises.
“that sounds like someone fucking with us.” colby stated, as sam talked about telling all his friends he was coming here.
“holy shit, i don’t think it’s someone pranking you guys.” elias stared, wide eyed at his phone before holding it up so everyone could see.
“fuck.” jake muttered. “answer! answer!”
elias answered the call, putting it on speaker phone. the sounds coming from his call was much different from sam’s. these, sounded like chants, as if a huge group of people were shouting into the phone, cursing the boy. “guys, what the fuck is this.” he had experienced everything, but never has he gotten no caller id calls, with scary ass chants. “are you fucking with me right now?” he asked the group, tears welling in his eyes.
“no! no! of course not!” colby assured him. “we don’t do shit like that.”
he pulled into the driveway of jennifer’s cabin, immediately opening the doors and seeing the pouring rain. at the door, jake started shaking the water off of him, complaining about being wet.
quickly, elias could see sam was struggling. he was digging through his bag trying to find the key. he was beginning to panic, and everyone was starting to realize.
“wait you don’t have the key?” corey questioned, getting nervous. “sam.” he sighed.
“was it in your pockets or the backpack?” colby asked.
“when do you remember last having it?” jake watched as sam patted his pockets.
“n-no i had it today, i showed the girl that jennifer gave me the key.” he defended. “here, just check the car, i swear, i have it.”
“really try to remember, did you put it in your bag or your pockets?” colby kept pushing.
sam frantically looked around the car as the others judged him, complaining and blaming him for losing the key. “hey honestly sam, don’t worry about it, it’s just a mistake.” elias tried to reassure him everything was fine, only for corey to say something.
“i thought.. it’s either here or in the backpack.. unless is it in our bags? should we check the trunk?” everyone was freaking out, and elias stood there awkwardly watching. he felt bad for sam.. he could feel the sadness and guilt dripping off of him.
“we need this key. we can’t get in. dude jennifer trusted us with this key, you can’t-”
“is this the only key?” “sam, are you fucking serious, dude. i’m not trying to be rude, but first you lowkey lost colby, and now you don’t have the key. i’m just saying, this is why i don’t like doing this type of shit.” corey raised his voice.
jake and corey agreed they didn’t want to go back to the tent, as colby kept filming. elias took a breath before saying excuse me and pulling sam to the side.
sam looked confused, but his guilt was overtaking it. “what?” he looked at the other, wondering why he dragged him a few feet away.
“dude, don’t listen to them, losing the key, like i said is a simple mistake, any of them could have done it, they’re not upset at you, they’re just upset at the cirumstances. but you’re forgetting i have a place just a few minutes away.” elias tried calming him down, seeing tears well in his eyes. he could tell sam wasn’t one that could deal with being yelled at.
“it’s not anything big, it’s a two bedroom with a pull out couch.” elias shrugged. “please just accept my offer, alright?” sam nodded, wiping any sort of water away from his eyes.
“thank you elias, really.” sam suddenly grabbed onto him, giving him a side hug.
“no worries.” he smiled, leading him back to the car, before they explained the plan to the others. everyone could see the disappointment in sam’s eyes, as he sat quiet in the passenger seat.
jake whispered to elias, about what happened out there, him shaking it off as to say it was private. he guides colby down the different roads, and in a few minutes they were outside his cabin.
“here we are!” he welcomes them inside, turning all the lights on.
“shit this is nice.” corey nodded, jumping onto the couch.
“woah woah, take your dirty ass boots off.” elias joked, watching as he threw them off in the direction of the door.
“thank you so much for having us here.” sam smiled, setting his bag down.
“really, don’t worry about it, i’m glad you’re here and not outside.” elias took their stuff and organized it by the doors. “okay so, there’s two bedrooms, you guys can take those if you want, i don’t mind sleeping on the couch.”
“hell no.” colby laughed, refusing to have him give up his own room in his own house.
“mkay whatever, someone can sleep in my room with me i guess, because trust me the couch is very uncomfortable to sleep on. plus the rooms are much safer. the living room is the scariest, you’ll hear the most shit out here.” he chuckled. “you guys can look around if you want, also feel free to eat anything you find, and use the wifi, passwords on the fridge.” he yawned. “i’m going the fuck to bed.”
the guys chuckled, taking him up on that offer.
for over half an hour, they decided to eat some of the snacks in his fridge, and taking crackers from the pantry. “god i was so hungry.” jake moaned into the leftover burger he was eating.
“okay guys, take it easy, we aren’t trying to raid their food.” colby snickered, watching as his friends ate like hungry rats.
“yeah good point.” sam took a handful of crackers and put the box back. “should we talk about sleeping arrangements?”
“there’s no fucking way i’m sleeping on the couch or anywhere in the living room after what he said.” corey stated, heading into the direction of the guest bedroom.
“yeahh, me neither.” jake followed after him.
“so.” colby shrugged. “do you care where you’re sleeping tonight?”
“not really, i’ve gotten to know elias pretty well so it doesn’t really matter to me.” the brunette squints at him.
“what did you guy’s talk about?” he questions.
“honestly, when he pulled me aside i was shocked. he like saw how overstimulated i was with the whole situation and he completely calmed me down, comforted me and everything.” he threw his arms as he was talking.
“yeah, i’m sorry about that, we were all just frustrated about the key.”
“don’t worry about it.” sam smiled. “are you and elias getting close? you were like all over him, sleeping back at the tent.” he was genuinely curious, considering he hasn’t seen his friend like this in awhile.
colby paused, thinking about everything that’s happened tonight. “honestly... i don’t know, it’s been really weird for me. i’m so confused with what im feeling.” he shook his head, so unsure.
“hm, i’ll go sleep with corey and jake.” they both nodded to that. “goodnight colby!” sam called out, walking in the same direction as the others did.
colby slowly approached elias’ room, pushing open the door gently. both bedside table lights were on, followed by a few candles around the room. he could see that the other boy was still awake. “oh hey.” he put down his book.
“hey elias. thought you were going to bed?”
“i was, heard some loud munchers in my kitchen though.” he giggled, as colby apologized. “no, honestly it’s okay, i was actually surprised how fast you guys decided to come to bed.”
elias yawned once more, stretching his arms out on the bed. “i can either sleep on the floor, make a little bed and shit, or if you’re cool i’ll just stay on the right of the bed.”
“literally don’t worry about it, not the first time i’m sleeping with a dude-” he paused, cutting himself off. “god that sounded bad.” he laughed, blushing with embarrassment.
“wouldn’t be my first time either.” elias smirked, blowing a fake kiss before wheezing at their dumb jokes.
colby moved closer, setting his personal backpack down and folding his jacket on the table. he shuffled towards the bed, and sat ontop of it. “i have no idea if i’m going to sleep tonight.” he sighed.
“that’s fair. it’s crazy out here. if you want we can just stay up and talk for awhile?”
“actually.. that would be nice.” colby rubbed the back of his neck. in was silent for a few seconds, him getting comfortable under the covers. “so..”
“how did you like the witches forest? scary enough for you guys?” the other asked, trying to start a good conversation.
“oh definitely one of the scariest places we’ve been to, like with the history of it and everything.”
“what other places have you been to?”
“uhh the stanley hotel, the biltmore, queen mary, cobb estate, griffin park, and we’ve explored so many creepy places, like morgues and abandoned hospitals.” colby explained.
“geez, no wonder you guys are haunted.” he laughs.
“do you think we are? we joke about it but im genuinely curious if we are.”
elias thinks for a minute. “i don’t think you’re haunted. however, i can sense something with you. with you and corey. whatever is following you, is completely different then what is attached to corey. notice the different in words.” he points out. “i think you have gotten yourself into many negative situations, not just paranormal.” “would you consider yourself lonely, or sad?”
colby exhaled shakily. “yes, sometimes.”
“spirits love following people that are lonely, they find them to be like easy prey, vulnerable.” he emphasizes the last word. elias closes his eyes, really focusing on colby’s presence. “i think the spirit that is with you is also lonely. they are following along with you, because you are feeding into it, giving it attention. and that’s fine, but if you don’t want it with you, you have to make it clear.”
“is it friendly?” he asked.
“yes. it’s friendly. i can’t tell you where you picked this spirit up, but it’s positive, and enjoys your company. it will not hurt you-” he stops, feeling something float by him. “it will not hurt you, it doesn’t want to, that’s not it’s intent. infact, it wants to protect you. noises you might hear, when you go to a haunted area, it very well could be this spirit trying to assert dominance with other ones.”
“holy.” colby tried to calm his breathing. “this is crazy. as long as it’s friendly, then i welcome it.” “so, do you think corey’s ghost is like bad?”
“i wouldn’t say bad, but when i was sitting near him earlier, it isn’t as friendly as yours. it likes the fear that comes with scaring him, i’d even go as far as, it wants to scare him more, it wants to up it. and with that spirit challenging him, i am nervous for his health both physically and mentally.”
“jesus, i have to tell him that in the morning, he’ll probably freak.” he sighed. “it’s so cool how you can like sense this stuff, does it ever get overwhelming?”
“allll the time.” elias chuckles. “sometimes i can just be in a library back in la, and i’ll feel like some version of spirits and like all these weird emotions, and i have to leave.”
“wow i’m sorry that comes with such an amazing gift.”
“it’s okay, i feel at peace with it now. i think my brothers with me, helping me deal with it all. i think he realizes how alone i am, and has decided to follow me.” he laughs at himself. “sorry, sorry, let’s talk about something more fun.”
colby laughed along. “so do you have a girlfriend?” he wondered, making elias pause and blush lightly.
“no, i’m single.” “goes along with the loneliness, if you feel me.” he chuckled. “you?”
“same, it’s hard to date now that sam and i’s channel has blown up. a lot of people have tried to use me for like clout and stuff.” the other frowned at that, apologizing for his past experiences. “no, no it’s okay, i just hope i’ll find someone soon, i do feel you, it gets so lonely.” he fake cries.
elias sips his glass of wine, offering some to colby. “i’m a vodka and rum kinda guy.”
and soon enough, the boys were drinking, gossiping to each other about absolutely everything. colby was a very talkative drunk it seemed. he was blabbing about his friends, girls, ghosts, anything. “so like, are you gay?” he asked.
elias spat out his wine back into the glass before turning to colby. “uh wow..” he rubbed the back of his neck. “where did that come from?”
“i-i don’t know.” colby admitted, trying to hide himself with the blanket. he really didn’t know why he asked, his weird confused feelings mixed with being drunk just made him ask, he was so curious.
“i’m bisexual.. how’d you know i was into men?”
“i.. i didn’t.” colby mumbled into the blanket. he felt himself shaking, so nervous and anxious. he took a deep breath and exhaled aggressively before jolting up and looking right at elias. “i didn’t know you liked men but i think i do.” he rushed it out.
“i’ve never felt anything for a guy before so i’m pretty freaked out right now and-d confused but i think i like you.” he rubs his eyes, embarrassed and uh pretty drunk.
“wait really?” he paused for a moment. ‘holy shit’ he thought. he never would have expected this, he just thought colby loved being physical with his friends from all the touches earlier in the night.
seeing that his confusing feelings were being reciprocated, it made elias the happiest he’s been in awhile. “dude, i feel the same way.”
colby stopped, completely still. both boys were completely shocked at each others confessions.
“like i feel like i’ve known you for awhile.” elias commented.
“same.” he tried to think of what to say next, where to go from here.
“hey.” the other touched his arm. “don’t get too nervous about this whole situation, we have plenty of time to get to know eachother, plenty of time for you to figure out everything you’re going through.” “don’t feel pressured into anything.”
colby thought for a few minutes. “thank you, i appreciate it.” “it’s.. it’s so weird feeling like this. ever since i was younger i’ve been so convinced that i’m straight, and now i’m getting all these feelings for you and it’s honestly making me scared. what if i do like you? does that mean i have to come out? tell my friends, family and viewers? what if i don’t and this is just a mistake?”
“you can.. or we can figure it out one step at a time.” elias smiled. “and by the way, never feel pressured to come out, it’s a personal and heavy thing to do.”
he shivered, tears threatening to spill. it was such a vulnerable moment for him. elias reached out to the boy, offering a hug.
they shared a tight hug, elias rubbing his back out of comfort.
their moment was interrupted by an incredibly loud bang, and three loud screams from the guys in the other room. “colby!” one of them shouted.
they pulled apart from their hug, just as the three barged into their room. “did you fucking hear that, bro?!” sam questioned, before looking at the people in front of him. he acknowledged how close they were, the slight tears in colby’s eyes,how intimate the room lighting was, the wine, the white rum..
oh fuck, they just interrupted a moment.
the other two didn’t notice, too scared of the noises they’ve been hearing all night. “that was the loudest one yet!” jake announced.
“i’m not going back in there.” corey whined.
“we’ve been hearing shit over there, what about you?” sam asked, before mouthing a sorry to the two sitting in bed. elias smiled at the gesture, before trying to wipe off his smirk.
“nope.” colby shook his head, his eyes less red then a few minutes ago.
“it’s safer in here.” corey stated, setting down the pillow he brought from the other room, and curling into a ball onto the floor, making elias laugh.
“are we having a sleepover?” he asked.
“oh, fucking totally.” jake snickered, running back to the other room and grabbing every blanket and pillow he could.
sam made a gesture with his finger, calling over colby. he noticed and walked to the bathroom with him.
“uh, hey, sorry about that, we didn’t mean to interrupt you guys.”
“interrupt? you uh didn’t interrupt anything we were just talking.”
sam made a face, before nodding. it was his business, so when he wanted to tell him, he would, so he left it alone. “alright.. you ready for this sleepover?” he smiled.
“fuckkk yeahh.”
it had been over an hour, everyone was dead asleep, corey snoring. elias was the only one awake, he was too in thought to sleep. he watched over colby, who was laying right infront of him on the floor with the rest of the guys. they were each laying on both bed mattresses, covered in blankets, basically in a line.
he had been debating to put an arm around colby, but.. if they woke up like that he could expose colby to the rest of his friends, or atleast cause him to get teased.
after a bit, he decided to shuffle his left arm under colby, so it was less noticeable. he held the boy, smiling, before finally falling asleep.
he didn’t know this, but colby was awake the entire time, smiling, wondering what the frick he was gonna do about this goofy medium he found himself possibly falling in love with...

~~~~~~~~~~~
It was hard to get to sleep after the conversation Tara and I had. I slept on and off all night, never feeling fully rested. I finally woke up mid-afternoon, the sun pouring through the cracks of the almost covered window.
Even though Tara assured me that I wouldn't die, I couldn't help but feel deep within me that that wasn't going to be the case. The idea alone shook me to my core, draining all the energy out of me.
I spent most of the day in Colby's room, lying in bed. Unmoving. I could hear everyone outside coming in and out of the apartment. Colby would occasionally poke his head in, seeing if I was alright. I would just close my eyes, pretending I was asleep. I had no energy to talk about what was going through my mind. Hours passed and it wasn't until I looked at my phone and saw the time that I realized I needed to get ready for work soon. I groaned, getting out of bed, and leaving his room. I slowly trudged to the bathroom.
"You okay, baby?" Colby called from the living room.
I hummed out a response, hoping he heard me. I finished, washed my hands, and left the bathroom. I sighed deeply as I walked towards the kitchen, figuring I should make something to eat before getting ready.
"Jade..." I turned towards Colby, his arms lightly reaching out and his hands grazing my wrists.
"What?" I whispered; my voice unable to speak louder.
Colby cupped my face, making my look into his eyes. "Babe, you look... so tired. Are you okay?"
The softness in his voice and touch made my heart ache. My body felt so heavy, my mind going both a million miles a minute and quiet all at once. I slid my arms around Colby, almost collapsing against him. Tears welled up in my eyes, my vision blurring. Colby rubbed my back, soothing me as I cried into his chest.
"I-I just...." I stuttered, blubbering.
"What, Jade? What is it?" He cooed.
"Every time things feel like they are calming down, they just get worse. Nothing seems to be going right for me, for us. I-I don't know how much more I can take." I shook, my cheeks soaked with tears.
"Try to calm down, Jade. It's gonna be okay." He assured me.
"But how do you know that? I mean, every time I try to catch a break, everything blows up in my face." I pulled back, looking up at him. "I try to take off work to relax, a 500-year-old vampire comes into town and toys with me. And then his brother decides he wants to fuck around with me too. And not only me, but you! Ronnie is constantly getting on my case, and then Mike tries to kill me. And yesterday every vampire I came into contact with was acting weird, only for me to find out that I apparently smell better without my necklace on. And that just adds a whole 'nother layer to all of this."
I finally tried catching my breath, no longer sad - but infuriated. "Am I cursed? That's what it feels like."
Colby shook his head. "I don't think you are. I think you are one person going through a lot in a short period of time that needs a real, serious break. And after what Tara said to you last night, I can only imagine what's going on inside your head."
I scrunched up my face. "How do you know what Tara said?"
"I may have... listened in on your conversation." He blinked.
"Colby." I whined, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"What? You're lucky I haven't locked you up inside my bedroom forever until all this blows over," he joked. "Besides, I don't want to be kept in the dark."
"I would have told you eventually." I argued, somewhat telling the truth.
"Are you sure about that? Because I have a sneaking suspicion that wouldn't happen given the information Tara shared with you about Kat and Xiomara." He lowered his voice, getting close to me.
"Don't tell the rest of the group. Kat begged me not-" I started, placing my hands on his chest.
Colby cut me off, cupping my hands into his. "I don't plan on it. I know there are a lot of vampires out there that would kill Kat for even being a witch, let alone being related to Xiomara. Besides I owe her. She did try to save me."
I exhaled, lowering my head. "I wish I could go somewhere, get away from all of this."
"Even out of the city would be better than this. Especially this dump." He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me in.
"It's not too bad here. It's everything outside that's bad." I mumbled.
Colby held me in his arms tightly, rubbing my back soothingly. I breathed in his scent, warm and comforting. I knew I was safe in his arms. All I wanted was to freeze time and stay like this forever.
"You should call out." He stated plainly.
I huffed. "I don't know if I can. Roger would be really pissed-"
Colby scoffed. "Fuck Roger. Call out. Worse case he fires you."
"Some of us need to have a job that isn't hidden in the shadows or the apartment of a nightclub, Colby." I sassed.
"You can always work here if need be. God knows Kevin needs the extra hands when he can." Colby mentioned.
I paused, realizing he was right, "...That's true, I guess."
His face lightened. "So call out."
"Okay. I won't call though. I don't feel like talking. I'll just text Roger." I grabbed my phone out of my pocket.
"Sounds like a plan," he smiled, leaving the kitchen. "I have to step out for a minute and make a call. I'll be right back."
Colby walked out the apartment door, pulling out his phone as he closed it. I texted Roger that I wasn't coming in. I turned my phone on silent mode, not wanting to hear from him or Ronnie about me not showing up tonight.
I don't know why I was concerned about a job that barely paid me enough to live. With all the shit going on in my life right now, they're lucky I even show up at all.
Colby came back in a moment later, grinning. "Jade, go pack a bag."
"What? Why?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I want to take you somewhere, and we might be there for a bit." He explained, rubbing my arms sweetly.
"Well, where is 'there'?" I questioned.
"I can't tell you. That will ruin the surprise." Colby turned me towards the bedroom, slapping my ass lightly, "Now, go pack."
I didn't have too many clothes to pack in the first place, so it only took me a couple minutes to get ready. I changed into nicer clothes and walked out of Colby's room. He went in his room, grabbing a few things together, and was ready within a minute.
Vampire speed... must be nice.
Colby grabbed my hand, walking me out of the club's back entrance. He waved at Kevin, who gave him a casual salute as we passed. As we got outside, he pulled me to the garage across the street that was owned by the club.
"What are we doing over here?" I asked.
"Well, we gotta drive to get to our destination so I figured we could use my car." Colby replied, pulling out his keys and unalarming a car in the back corner of the garage. I followed him towards a car wrapped in a tarp.
"Is it a nice one?" I quired.
"Um," he shrugged. "I think it is."
Colby pulled the tarp off of his car, and underneath was an older model Toyota Corolla. It was a muted red color, and the interior was a beige nude color.
I stared over the top of the car at him. "This is the car you drive?"
"I don't really drive all that often anymore. But when I do... I ride in style." He opened his arms wide, gesturing to the car with a playful smile.
"Does Kevin not pay you enough to afford a nicer car? Hell, even a newer one?" I glanced over the car, biting my lip.
"Hey now, don't make fun of the honeywagon. She's gotten me very far in life, thank you very much." He rebutted jokingly.
"The honey-what?" I deadpanned.
"You heard me." Colby smirked, his dimples appearing for a brief moment. "Now, are you gonna keep making fun of my car, or are you going to get in?"
I rolled my eyes, opening the passenger door. I slid in, adjusting my seat a bit, and dropped my bag into the back seat. Colby got in, putting his bag in the back as well, and started the car immediately.
"I'm surprise she starts." I jeered lightly.
Colby rubbed the steering wheel, "Just because she's from 2007 does not mean she doesn't run like a champ."
"2007? Wow, that's... a long time ago." I snickered.
"Hey, when I bought this car in 2009, it was pretty new then." He responded.
My eyes widened. "You bought this car back in 2009?"
Colby backed the car up and out of the garage, starting us on our journey. "Yeah. When I turned 18, I found out that my mom left me a good amount of money. It wasn't enough for me to get my own place, but it was enough to pay for this car. I pretty much spent all of her money on this."
My stomach dropped, my previous words hitting me. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made fun-"
"It's okay Jade," he chuckled at my expression. "You ain't the first to rag on the honeywagon. Mike has given me shit over it for years. But, like I always tell him, it's sentimental."
I paused before continuing, knowing this was a touchy subject. "What happened to your mom? ...If you don't mind me asking."
Colby swallowed, his eyes remaining on the road. "My mom died of a heart attack when I was 10, and my dad had died back when I was a toddler, so I never really knew him. So, I didn't really have any other family around... besides Aunt Susan. She was also legally my godmother, so she was obligated to take me in. She got the house and everything else my mom left, even though most of it was left for me."
I lowered my voice, "The vision I saw of her and you. She grabbed you by your throat so aggressively. How often was she... like that?"
"The one moment you did see was basically how every day went. She always treated me like I was a burden, even back when I was a kid. She constantly belittled me, told me I wasn't good enough, and compared me to my mother in the worse way. It made me sick living there. And I had plans to move out as soon as I turned 18, but things never lined up well enough for me." He laughed bitterly, "And of course she wanted to kick me out the moment I was an adult, but she couldn't afford to live in the house without my extra income so once I finished high school, I moved to the basement and basically turned it into a little apartment. I never saw her unless I had to and all I did was go to work and come home. And that was my life for a long time."
"Did you have friends?" I inquired.
"I mean, I had a couple, but none that were actually close. Plus, once vampires came out to the public, a lot of people saw me as a pariah because of my aunt." He informed.
I frowned. "Why?"
"She was known in our town, affectionally, as a blood whore." Colby drove us onto the highway, leading us away from the city.
"Jesus..." I whispered, surprised.
"When vampires first came out, a lot of people were scared of them. But my aunt wasn't one of them. She was very... welcoming, to say the least. And she found out very quickly that vampire's blood was something worth befriending over." He remarked, his tone dull.
"She used to drink vampire blood?" I gaped.
"All the time. She used to give her blood to vampires in exchange - sometimes for money, sometimes for their blood. She became an addict to it, to some degree. Vampire blood, if drank a lot and in high quantities, can cause the person to feel high. So, she did that a lot of the times. She had a lot of vampire boyfriends. None of them ever stayed around too long. Just long enough for her to get her fix and then move onto the next..." His voice fell off for a moment, coming back more emotional; angrier. "Until Xaiver."
I reached over, placing my hand on Colby's forearm, rubbing it softly.
"She didn't exactly hang around with the best vampires, but he was especially sketchy. A lot of local vampires didn't fuck with him, but of course she still found her way to him. I found out later what happened with her and him. Because he was a dealer, he would sell his blood in vials. They met in some bar, and a week later went out on a ‘date’. He gave her a vial of his blood. And he expected that in return she would do the same the next date. But there never was another date. She just stole his blood and dipped. Hid in the house for two weeks in case he was out hunting for her - which he was. Eventually he heard that she had a kid that she took care of and that's how he found me." He glared at the road ahead, his jaw tense.
"I'm sorry that happened to you. You didn't deserve that." I consoled; the flashes of his memory played in my mind.
"It was such a weird feeling... turning into a vampire. I had heard stories of what it was like, and none of them explained it the way I felt it. Everything became sharp and intense. I was seeing colors I couldn't see before, lights were brighter, everything smelled so strong, and I could hear everything around me all at once. And the emotions - those are what really took me by surprise. I felt.... everything," Colby took a ragged breath. "Anything I had ever held back, anything I ever thought, I felt it. In that very moment. It was all so overwhelming. That word doesn't even do it justice."
I laced my fingers with his free hand, giving him a squeeze. "I can only imagine."
"I think my powers also made it ten times worse, at least for me. The moment I touched my aunt... I saw everything about her. Her whole entire life flashed before my eyes. Everything she ever felt or thought came to me. And I hated every second of it." He fumed lowly, sliding his hand out of my own for a moment.
I stayed silent, just watching Colby. His eyes remained on the road, but they were intense, dark. His one hand gripped the steering wheel while other rested softly on my thigh.
"I always thought that she didn't love me. I knew for a fact she didn't like me, you didn't need supernatural powers to know that. But I had hoped she cared, even a little. And there were times in her life she did. But deep down she never... wanted me," he confessed, his voice almost falling to a whisper. He swallowed and continued, "She was extremely jealous of the life my mom had. My mom had a great husband until he passed, she had a house, a family - everything my aunt wanted but could never get for whatever reason. And I was just a reminder of that. She gladly took the house, the car, my mom's money, but she didn't really want me. And knowing that she was actually kind of glad when my mom passed... I couldn't have stopped myself even if I wanted to."
"I don't blame you for what you did." I stated, looking into his eyes.
He blinked, turning back to the road. "When the police showed up, I told them that a vampire came in and attacked us both. They believed me because of her history, took her body to the morgue, and that was it. I paid for a funeral I didn't attend and buried her. I sold the house and any other possessions I could and never turned back."
"What happened to Xavier?" I uttered.
"I killed him before I left town. He was the second person I ever killed." He revealed.
I furrowed my brow, "He was hardly a person. He was a monster for what he did to you."
"Sometimes I regret killing either one of them. But then I think most likely if I hadn't, someone else would've. They both messed around with a lot of strange people..." He trailed off.
I tried to change the subject, sensing that Colby was getting tired of talking about this one. "What age did you get turned at?"
"22. I was about to be 23." He answered.
"How old would you be now?" I thought out loud.
"I would be 28. I was only born in '91." He stated.
"Oh my God... I'm dating an older man?" I gasped. "Sexy."
He finally cracked a genuine smile. "Why don't you get some rest? We have a long drive ahead of us."
"You still haven't told me where we're going." I argued light-heartedly.
"Well, clearly it's up in the mountains." He pointed to the mountains in the distance.
"I can tell that. But where?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You'll see eventually." He teased.
"You never fully explained why you're driving there. Couldn't we have vampire ran?" I questioned.
"It's a couple hours away, and while I'm strong I don't think I could run that far. Plus, I wanted to spend time with you, even if you're just asleep." He turned to me, giving me a wink. "So, get some rest."
I snuggled into my seat, leaning back a bit and staring out the window. The quiet sound of the radio and Colby's breathing lulled me to sleep in no time.
~\/\/~
"Baby, it's time to get up. We're here." Colby whispered, his soothing voice waking me.
I opened my eyes slowly, trying to focus them. The lights of the car illuminated the forest around us. And a few feet from the car was a cabin. A little porch with two red chairs rested on the outside with a set of stairs leading up to it. The cabin looked well taken care of, the light on the outside inviting us in. Little white flowers adorned the path leading to the stairs and around the whole property.
I got out of the car, my eyes widening at the sight. It was still dark out, but the sun would be rising soon, the sky a lighter blue than before. I turned towards Colby, who had both of our bags in his hands. He raced up the stairs, entering the cabin and turning the lights on. I walked up the path to the house, gliding up the stairs and into the cabin. I took in all of the little details of the place: the dark wooden interior, the rock wall fireplace, the cozy deep red couches, the soft oak table right outside of the kitchen. Everything about this place was beautiful. The house even smelled good, a mix of cinnamon and mahogany.
"So, what do you think?" He breathed almost nervously.
I gazed around the cabin, trying to take in every detail that I could. "Colby... how did you get a place like this last minute?"
"Well, Kevin knows a guy that owns this house. And I asked him to ask the guy if it was okay for us to come up here. And he said it was fine. We've all come up here before, sometimes just to get away from the city." Colby stepped closer to me. "Did you notice the white flowers outside?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah I did. Wait... are those-?"
He cut me off, smiling. "Angelica californica, to be exact."
"They grow here?" I questioned.
"Naturally, but we also add to the population occasionally." He joked, his dimples appearing.
"So... no vampires?" I whispered.
He replied back just as quiet. "No vampires. Except for me, of course."
I jumped up, hugging him tightly. "Oh Colby. This is the best present ever. Thank you."
"Of course, baby. You deserve this, and so much more." He pulled back, his arms still wrapped around me, "So, the closest cabin is about a mile away. Same with the closest town. I figured in an hour or two we can go into town, maybe get some breakfast at the diner? And then afterwards I can pick us up some groceries, that way you aren't starving the whole week we're here."
I gasped, "We're gonna be here for a week? Oh no, Colby, I only called out for a day.”
"Ehh, don't worry. You have off this weekend, right? Stay here with me, and we'll worry about all of that on Monday." Colby argued.
"I have a feeling I won't want to leave though." I exhaled dramatically.
He feigned concern. "Oh no... whatever will we do?"
I smacked his chest, a laugh erupting from him.
"Go take a shower, and I'll unpack our bags. Sound good?" He held my hands, giving them a light squeeze.
I nodded, walking into the bedroom and pulling out some clothes to change into for after my shower.
I took the longest shower of my life, scrubbing all the stress away and off my body. By the time I had gotten out, it had been an hour, and the diner was ready to open. Colby and I drove into town, enjoying the view of the quaint place. The diner wasn't packed, but a steady stream of customers were coming in and out for the breakfast rush. We sat down at a table and enjoyed our meal slowly, people-watching the whole time. We walked through town, looking at all the little shops and stopping in a few. I bought a mug with the town's name on it, Colby rolled his eyes as I did. We then went to the grocery store, picking up a few things to make lunch and dinner. Colby wasn't much of a cook, and neither was I, so we settled on pasta for tonight. We drove home, but I didn't feel like settling in yet.
"Do you wanna go on a hike?" Colby suggested.
And we did just that. The fresh air almost burned my lungs, the crispness feeling sharp with every breath. It had been overcast out all day, making it the perfect weather to walk in. I found a stream not too far away from our cabin, following it down until it opened up to a lake. We sat at the dock of the lake, staring out into the water, huddled close to each other.
Then the skies opened up, rain pouring and soaking us instantly. We laughed as we raced home, Colby holding my hand the whole time. Eventually when we were close, Colby picked me up bridal style and sped me into the cabin. Thunder crackled in the distance, making the ground shake. Colby started a fire, and the cabin warmed up instantly.
I didn't remember falling asleep, but I did. I woke up wrapped up in a blanket, a soft pillow resting under me. The tv was on, playing a random channel I hadn't seen before. The cabin smelled of butter and pasta sauce. I looked at the time, and it was already 5:36 P.M.
"Good evening, sleepy head. Dinner will be ready soon, if you wanna get up." Colby spoke from the kitchen.
I stretched, getting up and heading towards his voice. "You should have woke me sooner. I would have helped with dinner."
He snickered, "I'm not that clueless when it comes to making pasta. Besides, you looked too peaceful, and I figured after the long day of walking around your body could use some more rest."
"Well, I'll at least set the table." I pulled out two dishes, walking over to the table and placing them down. I noticed in the little vase there were three flowers: two things of angelica and a single rose.
He noticed me staring, "I got that for you at the grocery store. I made sure to hide it so you wouldn't see."
"You are literally too sweet to me." I leaned in, pecking his lips.
He shrugged half-heartedly. "I don't know about too sweet, but I'm definitely trying my best here.”
My face dropped, turning to look at him completely. "Colby, you got me a cabin, drove me all the way here just so I could catch a break. You bought me breakfast and groceries and are now making me dinner. If that isn't sweet, I don't know what is."
He looked down, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink. He continued stirring the pasta.
Oh my God... I made Colby blush.
A moment later, he turned off the heat, dumping the pasta water out and into the heated sauce. He mixed that up for a minute and turned to me. "I think it's ready."
We ate dinner slowly, enjoying each bite. Maybe it was because I hadn't had a homecooked meal in ages, but the pasta was to die for. We chatted the whole time, commenting on our day and the different things we saw at the diner and the lake. Once we finished, Colby poured some wine for us. A lull finally fell into our conversation, but we still sat in the dining room, sipping our wine. Colby held my hand, lightly running his thumb back and forth.
I squeezed his hand gently. "Thank you so much for this, Colby. Truly. I needed this escape so badly."
"Of course, Jade. I'll be honest though; this wasn't just an escape for you. It was for me too. I'm not exactly... not stressed, about everything going on." He took a long sip from his wine glass, his voice low.
I sighed deeply, gazing down at the table. "It's insane how crazy our lives have gotten in such a short time."
Colby nodded his head, finishing off his wine. He reached out his now free hand, wanting to hold mine. I gave him it, cupping his gently. His grip tightened as he began to speak.
"I'm... scared, of what's to come, Jade."
My heart sank at his words, his voice catching me off guard. He kept his head down as he continued.
"I want to be able to protect you, and I think I can, but there is a part of me that thinks I'm not enough. That I'm not strong enough. And especially if someone like Rinaldi or Max is coming after you... it's true. And it terrifies me that that's the truth. Hearing what Tara said to you, that there's the possibility that my greatest fear could happen, that you could die... I don't know what I would do with myself. I can't lose you, Jade. You're the first person I've let in in such a long time and I just can't..." His voice waivered as he trailed off, his head lowered to our hands, resting on them.
I felt a single tear slide down my face, unaware that his words did that to me. I wanted to reach out and grab him, pull him as close to me as possible and never let go. I wasn't sure what to say, but as we both stayed quiet for a moment, I felt myself utter words I knew to be true.
"I love you, Colby."
I could feel Colby freeze, halting his breath. He picked his head up slowly, his eyes almost staring through me. My heart sped up at his intense look.
"I know this might seem sudden... but I've felt this way for a long time." I shuttered out a breath, not realizing how nervous I was, "I don't expect you to say it back."
"I-I... want to, though. I just," his voice fell off, his eyes boring down at our still laced hands. "I've never had anyone say that to me."
My heart shattered, "No one's ever said I love you to you before?"
"Not since I was young. All of our friends have made passing remarks, saying that they care about me, but... not ‘I love you’. Not like how you said it." He murmured.
I squeezed his hands, running my thumb over his knuckles. I leaned down and kissed the top of them, looking up at him briefly. The silence filled the room, and I could see Colby wanted to speak, but was unsure of what to say. I truly didn't expect him to say it back, but part of me hoped for some response soon. My ears rang from the quiet.
Colby's eyes connected with mine, his icy blues gazing deep. "I'm not good at talking. I've never been great at saying what I feel. But I think I can show you... what I feel."
He stood up, pulling me to my feet. He cupped my face gently, his hand feeling almost cold against my hot skin. He leaned in slowly, pressing his body into me. His lips captured mine, an electric charge surging through my body instantly. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my fingers running through his hair.
Colby pushed me lightly against the table, his hands sliding down my body until he reached my hips. He gripped them tightly, the feeling causing a light sigh to fall from my lips. He smirked into the kiss, pulling away briefly to lift me up onto the table. He placed me down, connecting his lips with mine again. I wrapped my legs around his hips, squeezing him into me. Our kiss deepened, our tongues dancing with one another. Suddenly, he scooped me up from the table, walking me to the bedroom carefully.
He got me to the edge of the bed, dropping me softly. I gasped as I fell back, my legs dangling off the bed as he stared down at me. I swear for a second, I saw his eyes flash red as he scanned my body. My heart raced at the thought of what he could, and would, do to me.
He leaned down, hovering over me as he murmured in my ear. "I want to make you feel good, Jade."
I bit my lip, "I-I want you to do that."
Colby chuckled, kissing down my neck. He nipped at my collarbone; goosebumps rose across my skin as he did. He kept kissing down my body, my chest heaving as he got closer to my sex. I could feel the fire already burning deep within me growing. I wanted him so badly and for so long. And now, it was finally happening.
He raised my shirt up slowly, his hands stopping just underneath my bra. He looked into my eyes and nodded my head, sitting up and letting him pull my shirt off. He gazed over my newly exposed skin, taking in every inch of it. He glided his head down, his breath fanning just above the button of my pants. I shuddered at the feeling, needing him to keep going.
"I've wanted to taste you for so long, Jade." He glanced up at me, a whine almost falling from his lips, "Can I? Please?"
My panties grew wetter from the desperation in his voice. I nodded, unable to speak. Colby unbuttoned my pants, sliding them down my body hastily. His hands cupped my hips, his mouth kissing just above my underwear. My breath hitched at the sensation, my body tensing.
"You're already so wet for me... God, I need to taste you now." He growled.
He pulled my underwear off, throwing it behind him. I bit my lip as the cool air of the cabin hit my naked sex. My hips arched, wanting Colby to give me some relief.
"Use your words, baby. What do you want from me?" He teased, kissing my thighs.
I shuttered, "C-Colby, please. I need you so badly."
"To what?" He blinked innocently.
"Make me come with your tongue." I mewled.
Colby clenched his jaw at my words, his eyes closing tightly for a moment. "Whatever you want, baby. It's yours."
His mouth immediately connected with my clit, pulling it into his mouth and gently sucking on it. Pleasure rolled down my body, my legs instinctively wrapping around his head and resting on his shoulders. As he continued to play with my clit, his fingers lightly brushed up and down my lips, teasing my entrance.
"Oh my God, fuck Colby." I moaned, my eyes fluttering close.
He buried his head deeper into my cunt, his tongue and fingers switching positions. He lapped at my hole, his middle finger rubbing slow circles into my clit.
My hips bucked out his actions, whines falling from my mouth. He kept his pace slow and deep, causing pleasure to roll down my body over and over again.
I could feel my body getting closer to the edge, but I wanted him, needed him, inside of me. "Colby...."
"Yes, beautiful?" He hummed, picking his head up.
"Please.... I need you." I whimpered, my fingers tracing up his face as he looked at me.
He slowed raised up to my face, his mouth pressed closed to my ear. "You need me inside of you?"
"Yes," I shook my head desperately.
"How badly do you need me, baby? Tell me." He demanded teasingly.
"Colby, please." I pawed at his chest, still covered by his shirt, "I need you to take this off, right fucking now."
"Yeah?" He smirked, sitting up and pulling his shirt off with one arm.
My hands immediately slid up his chest, feeling his muscles tighten under my touch. I bit my lip, taking in every inch of him.
Suddenly, Colby's face changed. He lowered himself back down to me, his body resting against mine firmly. I could feel his bulge pressing hard into my thigh. That sent a shockwave through me, knowing I was turning him on.
"Jade... I want you," he swallowed hard. "I want you so badly. I've needed you for so long."
He leaned in, our lips connecting in a passionate kiss. My breath was instantly taken from me, my chest heaving from needed oxygen. My hands drifted down his body, undoing and sliding his pants down enough so that I could grasp his hard member. He gasped against my mouth, his grip on my hips tightening. He thrusted slowly into my hand as I held him. I could tell just from a few pumps that he was big. My pussy clenched at the feeling.
"Are you ready for me, baby?" He whispered lowly, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine.
I nodded, a tiny whimper escaping my mouth.
Colby kissed along my neck as he pulled his pants down all the way. His hands slid behind me and popped my bra off, yanking it away from my body quickly. I giggled at his actions; his neediness just as present as mine.
He reached over to the nightstand, opening the drawer and grabbing a condom. He rolled the condom down his shaft, my eyes widening at his now completely naked form. He was so beautiful, in more ways than one. My breath hitched in my throat as I took in as much as I could.
He leaned his head against mine, the tip of his cock teasing my entrance. "Do you still want this? Do you still want to do this?"
"Of course. More than ever." I cupped his face gently, pecking his lips.
He lined himself up, his eyes boring into mine for just a moment. As he entered me, he closed his eyes tightly, his mouth a gape. I moaned as he stretched me out, filling me deeply.
"Fuck Jade, you feel so good." He grunted, his chest vibrating from how deep his voice was.
Once he was completely inside of me, his eyes shot open, two red orbs staring back at me. Veins popped out from under his skin by his eyes. And his parted mouth showed fangs.
I gazed up at him, excited by the vampire before me. I've only ever seen him like this once, and now it felt completely different. Back then I barely even knew him. And now, he was the love of my life.
"I'm sorry, baby. Give me a second, okay?" Colby hissed, closing his eyes and resting his forehead against mine.
I hushed him, cupping his face, "No, it's okay Colby. I'm not scared. You don't scare me."
Colby exhaled. "That's good to know. But I still don't like having my fangs out while I'm fucking you."
I stuttered out, "I... don't mind."
"Oh? You like the fangs?" He sassed, his hips slowly starting to move.
"Yeah." I whispered bashfully, a light blush creeping across my skin.
"You're blushing.... oh my God, that's so fucking hot." He cursed.
I gripped his back a little hard, pulling him deeper into me as he thrusted. I matched his pace, our bodies moving as one.
Colby leaned into my neck, kissing and licking my skin. His fangs grazed against me, goosebumps forming. I let out a light gasp as he pressed his fangs in further, but never broke skin.
He groaned, his voice in my ear. "Do you want me to bite you? I can feel you squeezing around me tighter every time I almost do."
I inhaled sharply, taken aback by his tone. Colby chuckled darkly into my ear, his hips picking up speed.
"You want it, don’t you? Just admit it." He smirked.
I let out a raspy sound, unable to say anything. He was right, I did want him to bite me. But I wasn't going to say it. At least not yet.
"Make me." I uttered bravely.
His stare intensified, his lips twitching into a smile. "Fine."
Colby pinned down my hands to the bed with one hand, while his other shimmied down in between our bodies. He forced my legs apart wider, two of his fingers pushing lightly against my clit. He started stroking in time with his thrusts, which only got deeper and harder. I cried out in pleasure, my eyes rolling into the back of head from the new sensation.
"Tell me you need it. Tell me you want me to bite you." He ordered, staring into my eyes.
"Fuck, Colby! Pleaseeee." I whined, my brain turning to mush with his actions.
He grunted, his hips shuttering. "God I'm getting so close, Jade. Say what you want, baby. I'll give it to you. I'll give you whatever you want."
"Bite me, please." I whimpered.
"Say it louder, Jade." He hissed.
"Bite me, Colby!" I moaned louder, my pleasure building more and more. I could feel myself almost going over the edge. Fuck, I needed him to make me come.
"One more time, sweetheart. Say it for me now!" His voice thundered, his thrusts going deeper and deeper into me.
"Oh my God, please bite me! Please! I'm so fucking close!" I shouted desperately, my hips bucking wildly. I tried to force my hands out from under his hold, but they wouldn't budge. I just struggled against him as he kept up his fast-paced movements.
"Good girl, baby. Come for me." He growled, and then slammed his fangs into my neck. It was all overwhelming - the sensation of his fangs, his thrusts, and his words - and it immediately sent my body into overdrive. My orgasm ripped through me, my hips spasming in time with his. I cried out in pleasure, unable to hold back any sounds I had in me. He drank my blood slowly, but just the slight loss made my head all the more lighter.
"Oh shit I'm coming! Fuuuuuckkk-" Colby pounded into me over and over again, exploding in ecstasy as my blood leaked down his chin from my mouth. His red eyes almost glared down at me, intensely staring into my soul. I could feel his aura appear around us, engulfing us both. I was too out of my mind to care. Everything about this moment made my head spin and my mind blank out.
Once our orgasms subsided, Colby's body crashed down on top of mine. He let go of one of my hands, the other lacing fingers with his. We laid there and just breathed with one another, trying to slow down our racing hearts. It felt like forever before he finally picked his head up.
He picked his head up quickly, his mouth a gape. "Shit, I forgot you were bleeding. Here, let me give you some of my blood."
I slurred, "Nooo, y-you don't-"
"You're have no room to argue with me, sweetheart." Colby took his finger in his mouth, biting open the pad of it. Then he brought it to my lips. "Open up, baby."
I allowed his finger into my mouth, the metallic taste making me wince until suddenly changing into something sweet. I sucked on his finger, feeling the lightheadedness slowly going away.
"That's right... there you go. I didn't drink too much from you, so you don't need too much from me." A moment later, he slid his finger out of my mouth, a light ‘pop’ noise following.
"I-I was enjoying that, you know." I joked, sighing.
"I was too." He leaned in close, "There's a reason why I'm still hard inside of you."
We both giggled, his mischievous eyes softening. He pulled out of me a moment later, relaxing back on the bed beside me. We laid there silently, just listening to each other breathe. With a slight look, his hands grasped around my wrist, lightly tugging me over to him until my head was laying on his chest. He sighed deeply, snuggling into me more. I began to drift off, his soft breathing lulling me to sleep. We laid like this for hours, barely moving except to pull the blankets higher.
A ring tone ripped through the silent room. I glanced up at Colby who read his phone. "It's just Mike. He can leave a message."
I snuggled back in, waiting for the phone to stop. It did for a moment, only to start ringing again. The same tone and all.
"There's no reason for Mike to need me. He knows we’re up here. I left a note." He rolled his eyes, slightly annoyed.
"Okay." I laid my head down, but I didn't shut my eyes. Something churned in my stomach as I stared at the phone, hoping it wouldn't ring again.
But then it did.
Colby groaned, grabbing his phone off the table, and answering it. "What Mike?"
I could hear Mike's muffled voice, and it sounded panic.
Colby froze at Mike's words. He slowly rose from bed, my body falling off his. "What?"
My breath hitched. Something happened.
"Yeah. Yeah. We'll be there as soon as we can be. Tell him to hold on. I'm leaving right now." His tone was serious and pointed. He hung up the phone, getting out of bed quickly.
My stomach sank, my eyes widened. "What happened, Colby? What's wrong?"
He threw on his clothes hastily, turning to me. "It's Sam. Someone attacked him at the club tonight. We have to leave."
The IT Couple - Colby Brock
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Nothing, fluff
Summary: Adeliane isn't okay with Colby's lack luster costumes. A cute couples costume could help his awful halloween reputation
“Colby, you always do something boring as shit for halloween.” Adeliade said as she aggressively scrolled through Pinterest, trying to find something to be. “What about the corpse bride and Viktor?” She held up a picture of the couple from the movie. “Didn't Sam and Lorelai do that a couple years ago?” She glared at him before sighing and continued looking. “We could be Beetlejuice and Lydia?” Colby thought about it before answering, “Yeah but wouldn't that be weird, because we're dating and that whole thing was like, creepy.” Adelaide rolled her eyes and mumbled something Colby didn't hear. “I would say Mavis and Johnny but you look like Mavis and I look like Johnny.” Colby laughed, he moved closer to her. He looked at her screen as she furiously scrolled looking for something cool. Colby suddenly gasped. “Edward Scissor hands! I love that movie.” Adelaide looked at the picture. “Oh we could totally do that. You already have the zipper pants.” She toyed with the zipper on his pant leg. “Don't diss the zipper pants. They’re from Hot Topic” He pulled his leg away from her. “I’m not dissing them. I’m saying it's convenient.” She looked at him, he smiled. “So this is what we’re going with then?” Adelaide asked, Colby nodded excitedly.
For the next 2 weeks Colby and Adelaide worked on perfecting their costumes. They slightly altered the zipper pants to look more like they were supposed to, and figured out how to do the scars on Colby’s face. Adelaide looked beautiful in her white dress, with simple makeup and a big bow in her hair. And they were ready, they looked amazing. And Colby was happy to actually have a costume this year. Adelaide told him to not wear his scissor hands to the party, but he insisted that he needed them. So they walked hand in scissored hand.
Ghost Hunters Club: Chapter I
The first chapter of a Colby Brock x Male! OC book.
A/N: Holy shit I need a coffee. This is over 7.3k words please send help im dying (/j)
This is based off of Sam and Colby's video about the Millenium Biltmore Hotel; The Terrifying Night We'll Never Forget | Haunted Biltmore Hotel.
Welcome, to Ghost Hunters Club.
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽⋆⋅☆⋅⋆☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
The doors of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel were gently pushed open as two boys strolled in, one clutching a camera, the other with a grin. The door closed behind them and they moved to the front desk, leaning against it to talk patiently when they realised it was unattended.
The younger boy wielding the camera had fluffy warm-toned black hair that had been tousled wildly in various directions and honey coloured eyes with flecks of gold swimming in them. He had pinkish vanilla coloured skin with a constellation of star-shaped freckles dusted over his cheeks and an obvious pink scar over the bridge of his nose.
He was wearing a loose cream, button-up t-shirt and baggy chocolate brown cargo pants with huge pockets. Many silver rings adorned his fingers and black fingerless-gloves that covered his wrists matched them. A singular bracelet of obsidian and labradorite gemstones adorned his left wrist. A silver chain hung from his neck as his silver moon and star chain helix and lobe earrings gleamed in the light.
Beside him the older beaming boy had thick curly ginger hair that looked like flames in the light, matched with shining blue eyes like the ocean. He had pink skin, covered in freckles like a scatter of paint, coating all of his face and dotted on the rest of his skin.
He was dressed in a brown sweater with the collar of a cream shirt peeking out underneath with beige cargo pants, a singular gold bracelet attached to his wrist.
Both of them were clutching the straps of their backpacks which were slung over the shoulders, and the older had his ear pressed to his phone, listening intently to the person on the other side of the call.
The honey-eyed boy waited patiently at the desk, murmuring to the camera softly - which was pointed at the floor as to not grasp too many peoples’ attention.
“So we’re just at reception now,” the younger mumbled into the microphone, glancing around through his lashes. He tapped his feet and shifted his weight between his feet. “No one’s here so we’re just gonna wait a bit.”
The fiery-haired boy continued nodding and talking to his phone, thrusting a hand into his pants pocket and pressing his back up against the desk.
“Oh and I couldn’t bring Knox on this one,” the honey-eyed boy muttered, pouting childishly even though the camera couldn’t see him. “I know, I know. I’m really upset I couldn’t bring him but they don’t allow dogs here.”
At that moment a lady strolled up to the desk with a huge grin and acknowledged the patiently waiting boys. “I’m sorry for the wait,” she told them and the ginger boy murmured a ‘goodbye’ into the phone before hanging up. “Check in or out?”
“In,” the fiery-haired boy told her firmly, shooting her a short smile. He shuffled to the other’s side and ruffled the already tousled black hair even more. “We’re here to ghost hunt.” The older explained with a grin, doing jazz-hands as he spoke. The honey-eyed boy averted his gaze from the woman and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“You wouldn’t be the first,” the woman told them kindly. “Name?”
“Caspian Killian,” the honey-eyed boy spoke up, his voice soft in texture but clear in tone. The woman nodded.
“Alright, here is your key,” she handed the older - which mildly annoyed the younger - a door key and the fiery-haired boy nodded, pocketing it with a smile. “You’re on the eleventh floor,” she continued and quickly gave them directions.
“Thank you,” both boys chorused before leaving to find their room.
Caspian sighed, holding the camera up higher to get a view of the hotel, running his unoccupied hand through his hair and messing around with it until he was content. “Smile, Lin,” he told the fiery-haired boy who shot the camera a huge grin before he pointed it away.
“I can’t believe we’re here,” the fiery-haired boy whispered as they admired the lobby, standing back to back.
“Well, you better,” Caspian whispered back.
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽⋆⋅☆⋅⋆☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
Caspian sniffed as he rubbed his pink-tinted nose with a grimace. The fiery-haired boy shot him a sympathetic smile. “Y’know, I really don’t think we should be down here,” he whispered as they roamed around the empty and eerie ballroom.
“The door was open, and therefore I can go where I like,” Caspian shot back with a cocky smile and the older laughed, throwing his head back.
“Aren’t you cops s’pposed to be all goody?” The fiery-haired boy asked, his grin glowing as he ran a hand down the fabric of a curtain, admiring the pattern.
Caspian’s nose crinkled playfully.
“I’m not a cop anymore,” he reasoned with a smile, lightly punching the older’s shoulder playfully. The older laughed and ruffled his hair.
Then, the pair abruptly froze, fear coursing through them as they heard footsteps and voices, alongside a door closing. The fiery-haired boy darted behind one of the walls and tugged Caspian along with him, both of them pressing their backs up against the walls as they held their breaths.
The pair listened carefully before Caspian slowly dropped to the floor, sliding the camera along the carpet to record the people who had entered. “I think their filming,” he told the older softly, which earned him a glare to keep quiet.
They waited patiently but petrified as the long seconds ticked by, slowly growing into minutes. The footsteps - although light - grew closer as they held their breaths.
“So I wonder what ballroom we’re actually in,” a voice whispered quietly and Caspian’s eyes widened at how close the boy sounded. His brain had kicked into action and the subconscious police-routine of studying his surroundings and the people clicked into place.
He could guess the boy sounded around his age and judging by the sound of the footsteps, he was one of two walking closer, but they’d left another two people near the door.
“Cause there’s multiple, right?” The boy continued, and the fiery-haired boy sucked in a breath as he began shuffling to the right - away from the strangers. He urged Caspian to follow, but the honey-eyed boy didn’t move. “Oh my God, this is neveren-” the boy cut himself off with a screech.
He’d walked past the wall where Caspian and the fiery-haired boy were hiding and turned to see them. The boy had short dark brown hair and bright, glowing blue eyes which were widened in bewilderment. He had light ivory skin and two stud earrings in, clutching the end of his black leather jacket as he’d been adjusting it when he’d frozen. Underneath the jacket was a black t-shirt and hidden was a black belt. Attached to the belt was a silver chain which was dangling by his right hip, contrasting well with his dark grey ombre jeans.
A few steps behind him was a boy with short blonde hair and glistening blue eyes, filled with intrigue. He had pinkish skin and was raising an eyebrow. He was wearing a black t-shirt with white symbols that Caspian instantly identified as someone’s merch - who’s, he didn’t know - and black fingerless gloves with the same white merch symbols, alongside clean black jeans and a black backpack.
“Hello,” the fiery-haired boy managed to squeak out with a grin as the blonde swivelled the camera to the pair. Caspian had to physically remind himself to move his eyes off of the brunette stranger, who seemed to be pulling him in.
“Sorry,” the blonde addressed them with a smile, shuffling to stand beside his friend, who’s eyes hadn’t moved from Caspian. Not that the honey-eyed boy had noticed, as he was playing with his rings nervously, tapping the side of the camera. “You're filming too, yeah?”
“Yeah,” Caspian managed to say, practically choking on his own words. “We’re ghost-hunter-Youtubers.” The fiery haired boy let out a good-natured scoff.
“You are, I’m not.”
“Oh, so are we,” the brunette explained with a grin, his eyes still unmoving as he fell into a more natural stance, waving his hand as he spoke. “I’m Colby, this is Sam, and our friends somewhere over there are Corey and Jake.” He peered around the corner to try and catch a glimpse of the other two boys but to no avail.
“I’m Caspian and this is my cousin Roslin,” the honey-eyed boy explained, shifting his camera to his left-hand and stretching out his right. Sam shook it with a nod and Colby shook it with a smile. Roslin did the same.
“We should probably get out of here, and then we can talk,” Roslin whispered with a playful half-smile, gesturing to the door with a walking motion.
Caspian nodded.
So did Sam.
They made their way to the door and the other pair almost silently, all of them agreeing along the way to being filmed. Caspian glanced around nervously and Roslin gently rested his hand on his shoulder briefly, a reminder that the younger was okay. He shot him a grateful smile.
“This is Jake and this is Corey,” Sam introduced, gesturing to each person in turn. “Jake, Corey, this is Caspian and this is Roslin.”
Roslin gave a short cheerful wave that Jake returned as Caspian nodded his head upwards with a smile, before turning to glance backwards again.
“Do you guys know which ballroom this is?” Colby asked and the fiery-haired boy nodded as the six began walking down the corridor - away from the door.
“The Biltmore Bowl,” Roslin replied, gesturing with his thumb across the room where he and his cousin had been minutes before. “Said on a sign.”
“Oh,” Sam nodded as he passed the camera to Colby.
Jake bit his lip nervously.
“Oh dude look,” Sam called as the group joined him, staring down at a set of red stairs leading downwards.
As Caspian moved to get a good view, something dinged.
Jake froze in place and gestured with his thumb backwards, jaw slack in shock. “It dinged again.”
“Was that not your phone?” Colby asked and Roslin hummed in agreement.
“Wasn’t my phone,” Corey said, gesturing to his phone screen with no notifications. Caspian pulled out his phone quickly and shook his head at the empty screen. After Sam, Caspian and Colby quickly went to the door at the end of the stairs, the six began to head back to the door with Corey leading the way.
Just ahead of the door, he froze, eyes wide. “The lights are off,” he whispered, pointing at the ballroom they’d been exploring earlier. Caspian stepped in front and led them through the dark silently, unafraid of the limited light. He waited for the lights to flicker on - expecting them to be motion-sensed - but reminded himself that they’d already been on when he and Roslin had entered.
The six of them quickly made it to the stairwell where Caspian closed the door. As soon as he let go of the door knob, it shook violently.
“Holy shit,” Sam muttered, staring at it.
The honey-eyed boy reached for the nearest person to tap when he heard footsteps growing closer - which happened to be Colby. He pushed the brunette’s shoulder hurriedly and he understood, as he too had heard the oncoming footsteps.
“Somebody’s coming, somebody’s coming,” Colby stated hurriedly and they all rushed up their stairwell, Caspian right behind the brunette. They ran up several floors with Colby muttering repeatedly ‘Someone’s coming’ before swinging left and calmly walking out the doorway.
“I heard them coming through, go right,” Sam whispered, gesturing backwards as Caspian pushed him forwards gently. They quickly walked through several corridors before letting their pace slowen.
“My heart is beating so fast right now,” Colby stated with a grin, a hand on his chest as Roslin nodded, shaking his limbs out.
“Wait,” Sam paused and Colby urged him to keep walking, so he did.
“C’mon, let's go in the bathroom,” Jake suggested and they quickly walked in, Caspian sniffling again as he rubbed his nose and cringing at the runniness.
“Boys meeting,” Colby teased in an attempt to loosen the tension. “No girls allowed.” Roslin let out a chuckle and Caspian smiled.
“Isn't it illegal to film in a bathroom?” Sam pointed out and Roslin glanced at Caspian, who nodded confirmation. Both camera-men stopped recording.
“Well that was intense,” Roslin murmured and the group all let out a chuckle, collapsing against the walls.
“So you’re ghost hunters too?” Jake asked the pair. Roslin shook his head with a smile, whereas Caspian nodded eagerly.
“Cass here is but I’m not,” the older explained, leaning against a wall and shoving his hands in his pockets. “He usually takes his dog with him but this place doesn’t allow pets so he had to resort to human companionship,” Roslin teased and Caspian let out a mockingly-offended gasp.
“It’s not my fault your shit company!” He exclaimed, shoving his shoulder playfully - yet a little too hard for it to be called lightly. “Knox is so much better than you at this.” Roslin gasped and gaped at him, holding a hand over his heart in mock-offence.
“You have a ghost-hunter dog?” Sam asked eagerly and Caspian nodded, sniffling again before resuming playing with his rings. Colby watched intently as the light reflecting off of the rings gleamed.
“He’s my best mate, so yeah,” Caspian explained and Sam and Colby exchanged delighted looks. “He’s around three years old now.”
“What breed?” Colby asked, resting his chin on his hands.
Caspian grinned. “Black and tan German Shepherd,” he replied. Roslin laughed as he reached over and ruffled his warm-black curls again.
“They go everywhere together, well, except for places that don’t allow it,” the fiery-haired boy explained and Caspian shot him a playful glare.
“Hey, since we’re all together now, do you guys wanna do a bit of ghost hunting together?” Sam asked, gesturing to the other five boys. Colby nodded eagerly and Corey and Jake followed suit. Caspian’s face settled in a thoughtful expression while Roslin turned to him with an arched brow.
“Yeah, if you want to,” the honey-eyed boy agreed and Colby cheered, leaving them all to laugh. “Do you guys wanna go to the second floor?”
“Hell yeah,” Sam replied, glancing to his three friends who nodded.
Roslin bit his lip. “I think I’ll stay in our room, if you don’t mind, Cass,” he explained. “I’m not really good with ghost hunting.”
“Sure, Lin,” Caspian responded, slapping his cousin’s shoulder lightly. “You go back, call if you need anything.” He made a calling gesture with his hand as he spoke and Roslin laughed.
“Same goes for you.”
“Guys we’re tryna go to the second floor which is the haunted one and it won’t click,” Sam explained to the camera as he continued to press the button in the elevator. Caspian had also begun filming a few moments before as he nodded. They were a bit cramped in the elevator, but it didn’t bother them. “So like, no one can go to the second floor.”
“What if we go to the third floor and then go down the stairs?” Caspian suggested from beside Colby, who nodded.
Sam pressed the button and they waited patiently for the elevator to arrive on their desired floor. When they did, Sam left first, and then Corey, but he stopped midway.
“Devyn just texted me,” Corey began, staring at his phone screen as he stood beside Sam. Colby quietly explained to Caspian that Devyn was Corey’s girlfriend. “And said Navi won’t stop barking at the wall.”
“Navi’s Devyn’s dog,” Colby whispered to Caspian who nodded gratefully.
“While you're gone, to the most haunted hotel in Los Angeles,” Sam stated, zooming in his camera. “That’s not weird.”
The group laughed stiffly before making their way to the stairwell. They scrambled down the staircase and stairs until they reached the door to level 2.
Jake reached the door first, just as Caspian and Sam began filming again. “Looks closed off,” Sam observed as Jake stepped away from the door, a frustrated look on his face.
“Locked,” he replied.
“Yeah, they did lock it,” Colby whispered as Sam reached the door, pushing down on the stiff handle pointlessly. “‘Photograph and release form’, they won’t even let you film here.” Caspian sighed as he ran a hand through his hair in frustration, explaining the situation to the camera. “We said tenth and eleventh were the most haunted, now it's the second?” Colby asked in confusion.
“No, no, no,” Sam began. “Tenth and eleventh are where, like, the most sightings are and most haunted this” he pointed to the sign saying level two, “used to be just covered with the nurse that was most haunted and they just needed to stop people staying here.”
“Listen, brother,” Jake intervened, stepping closer to Colby. He grabbed Colby’s shoulders and shook him once gently, putting on a strange country accent. “The whole fucking hotel’s haunted.”
Caspian snorted softly at the humour.
“This was haunted by a nurse a long time ago,” Sam explained, glancing at Caspian who was fiddling with his camera’s straps. “And they stopped letting people in.”
“Who wants to go down to the dungeon?” Jake asked, pointing down the stairwell and Caspian gasped happily, rushing to his side to peer down.
They briefly talked about the camera blurring over Jake’s face as Caspian hurried down the stairs with his camera, grinning giddily all the way. Colby watched with a raised brow and piqued curiosity. Caspian seemed to be one strange person.
“This doesn’t look like a lobby to me,” Sam squeaked as he pointed the camera to a white corridor, Caspian hurrying towards it. “I dunno but the door’s open so that means it’s open to us.”
They walked down the corridor quickly, following the childish Caspian who was practically squealing with joy. Sam wasn’t entirely sure what to make of the boy, who seemed so quiet yet so interesting. They finally reached the end of the corridor, which led to some sort of boiler-type room.
“The music is like, right there,” Colby stated, pointing down a thin corridor where quiet classical music was seeping from.
“We should probably go,” Corey suggested, patting Caspian’s shoulder gently when the honey-eyed boy let out a sad whine.
Caspian froze after a second and began silently ushering Sam down the corridor they’d come through. “There's someone walking this way.”
The group made their way back quickly. “Are you sure?” Colby asked, glancing back but still walking. They reached the stairwell again and Caspian rubbed his eyes, only half-paying attention to what the others were saying. They kept walking down - to Sam’s surprise, stating that the place seemed endless - before they reached a mysterious black door.
Caspian gasped eagerly again and hurried down to it alongside Colby, pushing the door open. It creaked as he did and he peered around outside, brows furrowed in confusion. He scrambled out, followed quickly by Colby, and spun in a circle when he recognised the lobby area.
The group quickly continued walking after Sam ushered them to move.
“We came out next to the security guard,” Colby muttered through gritted teeth and Sam laughed nervously. Caspian giggled.
After conversing about what to do next, the group insisted Caspian stay with them for their next investigations, leading him to be collapsed on the couch in their room as the time ticked closer and closer to 1 o’clock in the morning.
Sam and Colby were talking to the camera about what they were doing and planning to do next as Caspian mindlessly opened his phone.
“Is that your dog?” Jake asked from his place next to the boy, pointing at Caspian’s locked screen. The honey-eyed boy nodded tiredly. His lock screen was a picture he’d taken of Knox just after getting him, the puppy so visibly young in many ways including his singular floppy ear. Caspian smiled fondly.
“Yeah,” he replied, opening up his phone and the messages app, clicking the most recent conversation. He typed in a message to his best friend Debbie before closing his phone and burying his face into the sleeves of his hoodie, closing his eyes.
It was nearing 2:30am when the group all settled on the couch with food and put on a show to watch, all of them paying attention except for Caspian - who was inspecting each person individually, trying to understand them.
At some point between 2:30am and 3am, a loud thud sound filled the apartment, coming from the level below. The group hurried to their feet and Sam grabbed his camera, Caspian doing the same.
“Guys, literally, we were not recording, there's something downstairs,” Sam hurried out as Corey turned the TV off. Caspian rolled his shoulders back and let the adrenaline wash over him, pushing away the sleepiness he’d felt before. “That was the elevator!” Sam exclaimed, repeating over and over about hearing sounds downstairs.
Caspian began making his way downstairs - seemingly calm compared to the others. Colby followed after him quickly, not wanting to leave the boy alone.
“What did you hear?” Jake asked and the group stopped to listen to Sam’s answer.
“The elevator, the metal thing, downstairs,” Sam explained.
“What, you didn’t hear that giant thud?” Corey asked Jake and Caspian bit his lip. Usually, in these situations, it was just him and Knox, and he’d calmly and quietly go check what it was. Caspian was like that, self-less. “When you were asleep we heard the elevator door, like.” Corey cut himself off, unable to explain the sound.
“Let’s go,” Colby suggested and moved in front of Caspian to walk. Instantly, Caspian moved back ahead of him, telling himself that if there was an intruder in the apartment, he’d step between them and his new friends.
“What if someones here?” Sam desperately wondered, and Caspian shot him a gentle, soothing look. Sam couldn’t explain why, but he trusted Caspian entirely, even though they’d only met hours before. They hurried down the stairwell.
“The door’s open!” Corey gasped in shock as Caspian moved to it.
“Was that us?” Colby asked. Caspian shrugged.
“Wasn’t that closed?” Corey stammered.
“I thought we closed it!” Sam exclaimed. “We would’ve closed it, right?”
“I dunno, I mean, we didn’t check the footage, I’m not sure,” Colby replied as Caspian moved to inspect the door, gently moving it back and forth.
“No, no, no, we had to slam it closed!” Corey reminded them, as Caspian moved to the doorway of the elevator. He grasped the metal fencing and pulled it closed, and then opened it again.
“It sounded like that,” he observed, doing the motion again so Sam could hear it.
“It did!” Sam exclaimed, and Caspian could hear the panic in his voice. “It sounded like a deep thud, bro. Holy fuck.”
“Wait someone could be in here,” Colby pointed out and began moving to another room. Caspian was alert instantly, balling one hand into a fist and moving silently to check nearby rooms for intruders. His training was kicking in. “What else could it be?” Colby wondered as they searched.
Sam began quickly recapping to the camera what was going on as the others inspected the elevator. Caspian, however, moved from room to room with a quick walk, teeth gritted in concentration.
As the others tried to find an explanation for the sound, Caspian noticed how Colby was shaking from the adrenaline and fear. He quickly made his way to the other and switched how he was holding the camera to embrace him in a one armed hug.
Colby sank into him instantly, trembling as he did and breathing in and out shakily. Just as the group was beginning to calm down again, another thud rang through the apartment, and something that sounded like the piano.
Caspian instantly darted to the stairs, gripping his camera so tight it turned his knuckles white. Colby raced behind him, but Sam overtook him.
“Yo, is somebody pranking us right now,” Colby wondered, desperate for an explanation as they reached the piano. Caspian gave Sam a half-hug like he had done to Colby upon seeing the blonde trembling too.
“Someone’s in here,” Jake spluttered, and Caspian wrapped a comforting arm around him too. They all felt oddly comforted by Caspian’s comfort, as he was the calmest of them all.
“That’d be illegal, if someone is screwing with us that's one hundred percent illegal,” Sam reasoned and Caspian stiffened at the mention of illegalism. Oh how he wished he had Knox with him. His dog made this stuff so much easier. “Check every room, check every room. No matter what, cause there is someone screwing with us right now.”
Caspian began swiftly checking the rooms again, but internally he knew that there was no way it was another person. He moved around to check over and over, only rejoining the group when he heard Sam cry out in panic.
“Dude, did you hear that?!” He sounded genuinely panicked, and Caspian moved to stand beside him.
“What?” Jake asked.
“There were like, three cracks,” Sam explained. Colby muttered something. “Yeah, I’m freakin’ out, dude!”
“But are you sure that was the piano, cause like,” Colby began, resting his hands on top of the piano. Caspian turned to Sam, before quickly striding to Jake upon seeing him in distress. He began rubbing a hand up and down Jake’s back soothingly.
“Yeah, it was, I’m pretty sure the camera even caught it,” Sam responded. “It was like a high-pitched sound.”
“I don’t feel good,” Jake whispered and Caspian nodded. The other boy turned to face him more and Caspian understood, wrapping him up in a much-needed hug.
“Okay,” Colby began, glancing to Jake over and over. “Maybe we take this time to be quiet and like, to see if anything else happens.”
“Dude, we heard something downstairs and up here, I swear to God,” Sam spluttered.
“If we heard things on both floors,” Caspian began and the others all turned to him. “How did we hear both? We were standing by the stairwell on both occasions so no one could have snuck past.”
“I’m just saying,” Sam muttered. “What would that be? What is happening right now?!” Caspian let Jake out of the hug as he went to sit down. “Dude, how long has this been going on? My camera right now says 5 minutes and 16 seconds. It is 3:05 right now.”
“So we heard the noise right at 3,” Corey exclaimed, beginning to pace the room as Caspian watched calmly. Or at least, he appeared calm. Internally, he was panicked, wishing he had Knox beside him. Knox was his dog, his buddy, his ghost-hunting companion, and investigating without him felt unnatural.
“That’s fucking givin’ me chills,” Sam panted out as he ran a hand through his hair.
“Right before we were about to do our sèance, cause three am is the witch's hour,” Colby began, his eyes wide as he hugged himself. Caspian nodded confirmation, thinking about his Aunts as he did.
“We were gonna do the sèance right now, why did that happen right now?” Sam explained.
“So the first noise we heard was at three?” Colby confirmed and Sam agreed. “Dude I’m fucking shaking.” He moved to stand next to Caspian’s chair, who reached up to pat his back gently. “But I don’t know if I heard it again, that’s what's freaking me out.” He shot a forced, thankful smile to Caspian, who stood back up and gave him a hug quickly.
“I didn’t hear a piano, I heard was what I thought was like a fence,” Corey explained and Colby agreed. Sam began moving stuff around to try and identify the sound as Colby moved closer to Caspian and the boy’s safe aura.
“I didn’t hear the first sound but the second sound was the fucking piano,” Jake stated. As they were talking, the light on the wall suddenly intensified and Caspian flinched abruptly, spinning to see the previously turned-off TV on.
“No cuts, that's the remote,” Sam began, pointing at the remote on the desk, far away from all five boys. “We turned it off when we went downstairs, how did that just happen?”
“Are the workers fucking with us?” Corey exclaimed and Caspian moved to give him a hug. At first the boy flinched away, and then he relaxed into it, embracing the comfort. Apparently hugs were really soothing during strange paranormal times.
“It has to be, it has to be,” Sam agreed, trying desperately to find an explanation, any explanation. Caspian stood straight up when he heard something creak, and lunged away from Corey and towards the sound.
“Did you just hear that?” Corey asked and the others turned to him. “That sounds like a door opening, like a creeeeaaak. Caspian immediately headed down the hallway the sound had come from, and the others quickly followed.
“Guys we can’t just follow every sound we hear,” Jake protested, and Caspian nodded. “Wherever we hear a noise, we’re not gonna find anything out from investigating, so we should just fucking chill.”
“I think we should do the sèance,” Caspian spoke up and they turned to him. “This place is clearly trying to tell us something, with the creaks and the weird energy.”
“What weird energy?” Colby asked and the honey-eyed boy tilted his head.
“Do you not feel it?” Caspian asked, his voice like silk. “The air feels thick.”
The others shook their heads.
“I agree we should do the sèance now,” Sam insisted, changing the subject.
Corey shook his head. “Fuck that.”
“I’m just saying, honest to God, we came here to find out if something was haunted and something is happening right now, like, wouldn’t this be the best time?” Sam explained and Caspian nodded, switching the camera to the other hand as he did. He began playing with his bracelet absent-mindedly, reminding himself of the protection it provided.
“If something’s fucking with us, we may as well try to fucking communicate with it,” Jake added and both Sam and Caspian nodded. “I don’t think we're gonna get physically hurt at all.” Caspian’s hand instantly moved to brush his arm instinctively.
“I dunno if I wanna do that, man,” Colby explained, rubbing his face with his hands.
“At three am?” Corey repeated. “Dude, great idea.”
 They moved back to stand next to the piano and both Sam and Caspian placed their cameras on top of the instrument. “Two seconds, before we make a decision, though,” Sam began. “What could that actually have been? Like, tryna debunk that right now. Are we just tired?”
“The TV,” Corey reminded them.
“Yeah, the TV, that just turned on, that I have no idea,” Sam agreed.
“Yeah, but the elevator, because we turned that on before, what if it just was one of those weird-” Colby explained, but Sam intervened.
“Like it was still on or something.”
“Yeah, like it shook or something,” Colby finished, nodding all the while.
“Yeah that could’ve been it,” Sam agreed.
“And the high-pitched noise, I don’t even know if that was the piano, I mean, that could’ve been anything,” Colby explained.
“That was the piano,” Jake insisted. “It was literally key by fucking key.” Corey re-explained what he’d heard before Jake continued. “It’s either a piano, or we’re going fucking crazy. It’s one of those two.”
“And it’s three o’clock in the morning, there's not someone just roaming around in the halls,” Sam reasoned. Caspian shivered as a chill went past his arm.
“Its either the piano went off, or we drank too many fucking chocolate frappés and we’re going crazy,” Jake stated and Caspian snorted lightly, before shivering again.
“I’m just saying, what's our plan of action now, we are not leaving - we made a pact,” Sam decided and Colby intervened.
“So let’s just, be quiet, like seriously, us talking isn’t gonna do anything,” Colby reasoned and Caspian pouted slightly. He wanted to do a sèance.
“It’s gonna be fine,” Jake began. “As long as we have each other’s back and we just chill, I think we’ll be fine.”
“Oh, what the fuck, dude,” Corey sighed.
“That was too much, man,” Sam agreed.
Caspian shifted his weight from foot to foot before shooting his camera - still placed on top of the table - a grin and a thumbs up. Colby couldn’t help but smile at the childish action.
About a dozen minutes later, the boys had finished conversing on their next step and had set up for the sèance. Caspian was eagerly grinning, as he’d never done a sèance with so many people. Colby sat next to him and found himself seeking comfort from his new friend.
Caspian’s aura was so protective, safe, friendly and childish that all four boys felt pulled to him. He was like a flashlight in a dark room and they all sought that light. He was the calm in the middle of the storm, and he’d already shown his self-lessness time and time again.
Sam glanced to the honey-eyed boy, watching him pull a lighter from his bag, alongside four candles. He was grateful for Caspian and his calmness in their frightened state, and he could see they shared the same trait of wanting to learn more about the paranormal and push themselves.
Colby basically hadn’t left Caspian’s side all night, courtesy of the strange connection pulling him towards the boy. It was a strange feeling that he didn’t really know how to explain, but everything about Caspian intrigued him. He wanted to learn more about him, understand his emotions, and be by his side.
Jake had been far too jumpy to embrace his usual funny self, but he had a feeling that if he and Caspian could talk outside of haunted buildings, they would connect quickly and easily. Caspian clearly shared some of the childish silliness he did, and he’d been desperate to find someone like that to befriend.
Corey had barely talked with Caspian, but not in an awkward way. He felt as though Caspian slipped so easily into their group that it just made sense. Corey hadn’t ever thought about a fifth member to their strange quartet, but now, it was beginning to feel inevitable.
They began filming quickly, Caspian agreeing that they’d just use Sam’s camera and they’d send him the footage afterwards.
“We promised in our last video that we would do a sèance,” Sam began with a pained smile as Corey lit the third candle. “And we’re gonna do a sèance.”
They all watched Corey attempt to light the candle in silence for a minute, before Colby sucked in a breath and turned to their camera with a sarcastic smile. “Do we wanna do a sèance?” Colby asked. “Not really.”
“Yes!” Caspian said at the same time and Colby chuckled.
“But if anythings gonna happen, it's gonna happen right now,” Sam explained, his voice strained with tiredness.
“So, how do we even start a sèance, like, what is the definition of a sèance?” Colby asked and Caspian impatiently wriggled in his seat.
“So,” Sam began, then reached into his pocket to grab his phone. “Let me read it off, just to make sure I’ve got this right.”
“I know,” Caspian intervened, and Sam froze, pulling his empty hand from his pocket. The others turned to the honey-eyed boy. “A sèance is a meeting of people who try to make contact with the dead, usually assisted by a medium!”
“So it’s very general,” Sam explained. “It’s really any way you want to contact the dead, however there are ways to make it better. One, being in a place where a lot of people have died aka this hotel. A lot of people that believe in the haunted.”
“If you make it seem welcoming, safe and comfortable spirits are more keen to communicate,” Caspian added and Sam nodded.
“And we’re literally in a home-looking hotel room with candles lit, very warm colours everywhere, we’re trying to make this very home-y,” Sam agreed.
“I’m scared bro,” Corey admitted. “I’m sorry bro, I don’t like this.”
“I honestly feel like this is a perfect setting though,” Colby agreed. “I mean, what else do we need?” Caspian bit back the urge to say ‘a medium’ as he played with his bracelet.
“No, I feel like this is some horror movie crap, bro,” Corey intervened, and they all turned to Jake, who was playing with the lighter.
Sam went to say something but before he could, Colby reached out and grabbed the lighter from the other’s hands, turned it off, and threw it across the room. “What if that had turned on when you threw it and you burned this entire place to ashes and dust?” Caspian whispered and they all turned to him with raised eyebrows. “What?”
“When we did Queen Mary, I think we all agreed that there was some weird, like, level of comfort to it, like we weren’t scared,” Jake remembered and Colby quietly whispered an explanation in Caspian’s ear, who thanked him.
“Yeah, the reason why Queen Mary worked was we all believed, we were all comfortable, and we were all together with an energy, if we can make that happen again,” Sam explained, but was interrupted by Jake.
“That’s freaking me out,” Jake stated, pointing up at the chandelier which had been gently swaying back and forth with the occasional creak.
“Yeah but Queen Mary we didn’t light a bunch of candles and say a bunch of spells to get someone to talk to us,” Corey protested and Caspian stiffened instinctively, prepared for him to talk bad about witches or something. “Queen Mary just happened.”
“But we asked it politely, so we’ve basically done a sèance before, just a very weird one,” Sam reasoned. Caspian raised his hand gently.
“I’ve done sèances before,” he interjected. “Ever since I was a kid.”
“What the fuck?” Jake asked in confusion and Caspian shrugged.
“My family just did that kind of stuff.”
“You don’t have to say anything,” Jake told Corey. “You just have to be here.”
“Yeah like, you have the best paranormal energy so we just really need you to be here,” Sam confirmed, although he glanced at Caspian as he spoke. For some reason, he had a feeling that the ‘best paranormal energy’ of the group had changed.
Jake began explaining he’d heard something and Corey agreed, but Caspian was barely listening. His mind had zoned out as he stared at the corner, unable to reconnect. After a minute, he felt Sam shift to begin the sèance and instantly fell back into his body - or at least that's what it felt like.
“We must say these words together,” Sam explained. “‘Our beloved blank’, so whoever’s spirit so Black Dahlia, anything we want to contact, ‘we bring you gifts from life, into death. Commune with us, and move along.’”
“What?” Corey gasped. “What do you mean ‘we give you gifts from life to death’?”
“We’re giving them a way to communicate by using our life energy from the dead,” Caspian explained.
“I’d like to say is there ‘someone’ here, like, let’s not call them spirits,” Jake offered. “Last time I think that's how we got to have Queen Mary, as we treated it just like another person.”
Caspian agreed hastily, as he’d been about to say the same thing.
“What if we say all together ‘if there’s anybody out here right now we invite you to use your energy and show yourself’ or something” Colby offered.
“To speak through us?” Sam asked and Colby nodded. “Okay, let’s do it. You guys ready?”
“I mean, I’ll sit here,” Corey agreed.
They all reached out and joined hands.
“So together, what are we gonna say?” Sam asked.
“‘If there's somebody or there's someone here-” Colby began, but Corey interrupted upon hearing something again. Caspian felt himself zone out, but zone back in moments later. He shuddered at the strange feeling.
“If there’s someone here,” Jake, Sam, Colby and Caspian said altogether, all of their eyes closed as Corey patiently waited. “Please use our energy, to communicate with us.”
“Guys, its shaking,” Corey said, pointing up at the chandelier. Caspian looked up and spotted what the other was seeing. “Look! It’s shaking.”
“Should I grab the camera so it can see it?” Sam questioned, eyes fixated on the lamp. Caspian shivered as his eyes remained fixated on the chandelier, his ears tuning out the others’ conversation. He saw Sam get up and move the camera out of the corner of his eye, but couldn’t move his attention from the light.
Colby tapped Caspian gently, pulling him from his daze with a concerned look. Caspian shook his head when Colby went to ask.
The boys rejoined their hands again after conversing quickly.
“Alright, close eyes,” Sam began and they all did. “Three, two, one.”
“If you are here,” all five boys began speaking in sync, and Caspian let his eyelids relax from their squeezed shut position. “Use our energy to make a sound or sign.”
Caspian breathed in and out deeply, eyes still closed before he felt something. Something in his mind, as though he could see something even though all he saw was black. He lifted his head and opened his eyes nonchalantly, his gaze connecting with Jake’s.
At the same time, both boys jerked back abruptly, and then all four candles flickered out.
“What the fuck?!” Colby exclaimed as they all pushed their chairs away from the table in a hurried panic, moving away so quickly that the camera fell. Or at least, that's what they thought the reason was.
Corey began quickly trying to leave whilst Sam protested, but all Caspian could do was stare at the candles. As the four began to argue, Caspian slowly shuffled closer to the candles, inspecting the wicks and the tiny, remaining flickering light on each. He licked his fingers and moved to snuff the candle, only for it to go out before he could even touch it. The honey-eyed boy flinched back in confusion, before moving to the next, and then the next, and then the next, but everytime he got close to snuffing the candles, they blew out.
Colby grabbed the camera as Corey continuously tried to get them to leave, all while Sam tried to debunk the situation. They hurriedly ended the sèance and the four boys moved to the living room, not even noticing Caspian who’d begun collecting the candles.
As the others moved around the hotel room and turned on all the lights, Caspian gathered his stuff. They chilled in the main living room altogether for an hour before Caspian stood up, all eyes turning to him.
“I have to go, Roslin and I need to be back by midday,” Caspian told them with a regretful smile. The boys gasped and Colby lunged to his feet, wrapping the honey-eyed boy up in a hug. The other three boys joined in almost immediately.
“Here’s my phone number,” Colby told him, handing a small, ripped piece of paper with a phone number scribbled on it. “Call me. I’ll give you the others later.”
Caspian nodded. “I’ll miss you guys.”
“Aww,” Corey cooed. “We’ll miss you too!”
“Yeah, we should collab again,” Sam insisted and all five boys nodded eagerly.
“Oh definitely,” Caspian agreed.
The group all bid their farewells and promised to collab again and talk later, before Caspian left with a sad smile. He made his way down the hallway to his room with Roslin, opening it with a sigh. Roslin looked up at him from his place on the edge of the bed.
“How’d it go?” The fiery-haired boy asked cheerfully, placing his phone down. Caspian groaned in response and slumped down against the wall. “That chaotic?” Caspian hummed in agreement. “Starbucks?”
“Fuck yeah, I need an iced coffee.”
colby brock smut alphabet
Tumblr media
pairing: colby brock × fem!reader. posting one more time.
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex) He'll let you catch your breath and after will be so affectionate and sweet, nuzzling his head into your neck and giving you little kisses. “You make me feel safe” after fucking the soul out of you.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s) His arms and his throat, for obvious reason too. He knows his arms are one hell of a looker, and he loves the way you grip them for dear life as he shows you a good time. Taking a dominant role, he tries not to reveal how much he sinks into the ground when you passionately kiss his neck. The way he rolls his eyes shows how pleased he is, but no more than for a fraction of a second. He wants to see you writhing beneath him and not take his eyes off you even for a millisecond. As for you, he treats your body like a goddamn sculpture. He’s totally obsessed with your thighs. He loves to squeeze, kiss and bite them just to tease you. And it always works.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically) He loves it when you give him head, loves the way his warm seed spills between your lips as you try to swallow it. He loves grabbing your roughly by your chin, smashing his lips onto yours to get a taste of himself. He is absolutely a slut for eating you out and he would go on and on about how good you taste.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs) He actually enjoys being a sub quite a lot. Even though he prefers to dominate, you can't count how many times he called you “mommy” when you were taking care of him. After giving him commands, he acts like an obedient puppy. Phrases like “Who's momma’s good boy?” only make him weaker.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?) He exactly knows your sensitive spots and there is no way he doesn't know what in hell he's doing. He's charming and knows how to use it to get what he wants, even if it's just a quick handjob or blowjob.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying) “I want to sit on your face.” He’s already sold. And when you sit on his face, all of the joyful things he loves about oral sex become magnified. You love being admired by him, which gives him a lot of pleasure. He keeps a bruising grip on your thighs, adoring the creases and valleys that your body makes.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.) More than you'd think. He’s definitely a tease, so there will be moments where he pokes a bit of fun and the occasional ominous sadist smile.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.) He tries to keep up the maintenance, but sometimes he forgets. He doesn’t expect someone to shave for him if they don’t want to. He’s just glad you enjoy having sex with him.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect) He is more filthy and mouthy than romantic during sex. He likes to hear you call him ‘daddy’ and ‘sir.’ I think after sex, he’s all goofy and romantic. He gives you lots of praises and romantic words.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon) Well, if he's horny, he just goes to you.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks) Choking, daddy kink, and cockwarming are Colby’s all-time favorites. He loves choking you, but if you say your safe word, he’ll drop everything and make sure you are okay. Colby loves nicknames, but he loves hearing you call him “Daddy”. He just wants to protect you, and of course, he loves the baby girl and daddy kink role play.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do) Colby isn’t the most adventurous when it comes to location. He would hate to give anyone some leverage over him, especially regarding his personal life so he keeps the private places. But when at home it’s a different story; the bed, the shower, the bath, any counter or table, his libido could rise at any moment leaving you with very little time before he’s pressing you down on the nearest surface, always making sure to keep his eyes on you at all times.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going) When someone else flirts with his partner. He gets jealous very easily, despite what some might think. He would protectively slide his arm around your waist and introduce himself as your boyfriend, even if he isn’t. Another simple thing that would get him going is when his partner calls him Cole, preferably in a sweet little whine.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs) He would never do anything to hurt you. Yeah, he's into pain, but only when it comes to himself. He can't bare the idea of doing anything to inflict pain upon you.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.) Oh he definitely prefers receiving. Pulling your hair behind your head to help guide you, feeling you gag around him struggling to take his length he loves all of it. And, oh my god, seeing you on your knees sucking him off is truly one of the most beautiful sights he has ever witnessed.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.) He fucks you hard and fast, so rough and brutal that you’re seeing stars.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?) He tires you out good and proper pretty much every single time he fucks you.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.) Colby’s pretty loud. He whimpers, moans, groans, sometimes growls, pants a lot. It honestly spurs you on more when you hear what sounds he makes.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards) Colby could fall asleep quite quickly afterwards, but he wouldn’t be able to sleep until he knew you were okay and well looked after. He stays awake longer than you most nights, watching sleep take you.
colby brock
scared!
Tumblr media
summary: it's your turn to host pizza night in your apartment. during the night, your boyfriend announces his leave. oblivious to you, you don't realise he's still in your apartment - hiding away in the storage cupboard.
Tumblr media
"colby! can you get the door, please? "
you lean over the upstairs railing, looking down to the living room, where your boyfriend, colby, laid on the couch.
he glances up to you before dropping his phone beside him. he gets up from the couch, striding over to the front door.
you hear him greet the delivery man before he takes the load of pizza boxes in his arms. "thanks man" you hear colby say as you run down the stairs.
colby was leaning the pizza boxes over the kitchen island, whilst his leg was stretched out behind him, shutting the front door.
"it smells so good" you sing as you watch colby lay out the boxes on the island. "mhm, i'm starving" colby chuckles, looking at you.
he makes grabby hands towards you as he bats his lashes. "cutie" you scoff as you make your way into his arms. "trust me when i say you're the only one who gets away with calling me that" he shakes his head before placing a kiss on your hair.
"you, colby brock, are the biggest cutie and softie, i've ever met." you giggle as you lean on your tiptoes, wrapping your arms around your boyfriend's nape.
"really?" he hums, pressing your back against the side of the island, his hands on either side of you, trapping you in his embrace. you nod at his question, looking up at his blue eyes. "fine" he drags, inching his face closer to yours.
he raises his fingers up to settle on your chin. he then lifts your chin up, making your eyes fall further into his eyes. "let me show you how soft i am, then," his voice came across as harsh, completely contradicting his statement.
he drops his lips on yours, rougly, making your head tilt back slightly. he let's his fingers drop to your throat, gripping it.
his body towered yours as he bit your bottom lip, making your lips part. he let's his tongue slide into your mouth. you were arched against him as his tongue explored your mouth.
he let his free hand run up your side, lifting up the xplr hoodie from the hem that you were wearing. his hand squeezing your bare skin as he went further up, stopping just above your waist.
the sound of someone clearing their throat filled the room, making you and colby turn your heads towards the door. sam stood in the doorway, looking out to the hallway, "should i go?" sam says awkwardly as he continues to stare into the hallway.
you cursed under your breath as you attempted to push colby away, but he stayed in his position, his hand on your waist whilst his other was still wrapped around your throat.
"colby" you whisper sternly, squatting his arm. he let out a deep chuckle as he let go of your waist and throat. he lowered his head, leaving a kiss to your throat. "was that soft enough?" colby asks, rhetorically, with a smirk across his lips.
"great timing, man" you see colby roll his eyes before turning to sam. "you can turn around, we were decent anyways" colby says to him. you watch sam turn around, he held a bottle of vodka in his hands, walking over to the kitchen island, he set it down.
"next time, try locking the door" sam shakes his head as he hugs colby. "hey y/n" sam smiles, leaning in for a hug. you return his hug, making eye contact with colby, who stood behind him.
you raised your hand behind sam's back, directing your middle finger to your boyfriend. colby chuckled before walking around you both, jumping over the couch to take a seat.
you had pulled away from sam and now made your way over to the living room, sam following behind. you took a seat beside your boyfriend whilst sam sat opposite you both.
"okay, so what movie are we watching tonight?" sam asks, flickering through the pile of cd's. "what about the grinch?" you squeal. "seriously?" colby chuckles. "hey" you pout, playfully slapping his arm, "it's christmas, soon. we need to get in the christmas spirit, " you shrug before leaning your back against colby's chest. he pulls you in closer, wrapping his arms around you.
"i'm down for it" sam says. you tilt your head back against colby, looking up at him as you bat your eyelashes. "fine, grinch it is" colby shakes his head before placing an upside kiss on your lips.
"i won't start it until everyone comes," sam announces.
Tumblr media
half an hour had passed, your apartment was now crowded with your friends and some people you didn't even know like friends of friends.
a few people took seats on the couch, and some were on the floor with blankets, whilst the rest stood in the kitchen.
"i'm gonna get another pizza slice. want one?" colby asks, his chin rested on your shoulder whilst he had his arms around you. "i'm okay" you smile, shuffling off colby's lap so he can stand up from the couch.
he placed a small kiss on the side of your face before standing up from the couch, making his way to the kitchen.
you heard colby's voice stand out as he joined in a conversation, but the movie quickly drained it out with how loud the volume was.
"i'm so tired" katrina yawns, flopping down beside you on the couch. you giggle at her, watching as she shuffles closer to you, letting her head rests against your lap.
"gonna take a nap" she hums. "go upstairs, sleep at mine tonight," you urge. "can't, got to be up early tomorrow to go in the studio," she hums. "you work too hard, kat," you tut. "i know, so let me sleep," she whines. you laugh, putting your hands up in defence.
despite saying she wanted to sleep, she continued talking about her studio session tomorrow.
"move kat" you hear colby say, making you and kat raise your head to colby, who stood beside the couch you were both sat on. "no" she mumbled. "too tired," she groans. "go upstairs, then" colby shrugs.
"i don't want to. besides, i was here first, " she mumbles. colby glares down at her, his eyes warning her.
"fuck you, brock" she mutters, raising her middle finger. "not a hit with the ladies tonight, mr brock" you tease colby, shaking your head in playful disappointment. colby spreads a smirk across his lips. he raises his hand, settling it around you throat. his index finger situated under your jaw, upholding your face higher, so you're looking up at him. whilst letting his thumb run along your bottom lip.
you glanced down, quickly, to see katrina dozing off. you then let your eyes flicker back up to colby. you watch as he squats down, letting his his free hand slither around your waist.
he lifts you up, easily like you weigh nothing, and takes a seat where you were sat. he places you on his lap. "you're an-" you begin to say, furrowing your eyebrows. "i wouldn't finish that if i was you baby," colby grinned, finding this amusing.
you scoff before rearranging yourself on his laps. you moved both legs, so you were now straddling him. you quickly turned your head, scanning the room: everyone was so fixated on their own conversations or either watching the movie that luckily no one was watching you and colby.
"what's up?" colby asks, squeezing your hip. you turned back to him, shaking your head. "nothing" you smiled. colby nodded before nuzzling his face into your shoulder. you let your hands rest on the back of his head, your fingers running through his hair.
"i have to go soon" colby mumbles against your shoulder. "why?" you frowned, pulling yourself back so you could see colby's face. "need an early night" he says, leaning back on the couch, "i'm picking up gage from the airport in the morning." he finishes off. "you can stay at mine and then just leave in the morning," you frown. "i have to leave at four am. i wouldn't want to wake you, baby," he shakes his head. "i'll come back to yours after, though, i promise," he says.
Tumblr media
"i'll see you tomorrow, okay?" colby places a kiss on your cheek. "you sure you can't stay?" you ask, wrapping your arms around his body. "i can't, baby" he pouts. "okay" you mutter. "i'll see you in the morning," you plaster a small smile on your lips before placing a kiss on colby's lips.
"i love you" colby smiled, tightly wrapping me in his embrace. "i love you too, goodnight." you let yourself off colby, and he makes his way out.
as the night went on, so did the movies. majority of the people had left, it was now two am, and you were laid on the couch with katrina and sam, watching the end of the second harry potter film.
"i should take her home" sam mumbles. "you guys can stay over" you inform him. "no, it's okay, i should get her back, though, she's in the studio in the morning" sam says, standing up from the couch. you nod before letting your head fall back onto the couch. you watch sam pick katrina up in his arms. "see you later y/n" he smiles. "goodnight guys"
you hear the front door shut, making your eyes drift you to sleep.
as you felt yourself fall into a deep sleep, you heard something over by the storage cupboard. it heard like rustling. blaming it on the wind, you shut your eyes again.
but once again, you heard something that made you jump. you heard a clinking noise, like the sounds of the chains.
you grabbed your phone and put on the flash. you didn't bother looking around at your surroundings. instead, you bolted your way upstairs and into your bed.
you unlocked your phone and opened your messages between colby.
y/n: are you awake?
colby: yeah, what's up?
y/n: i can hear something downstairs
colby: what'd you mean, baby?
y/n: i heard rustling before, and then just before i came up, i heard a clinking sound.
colby: can you hear anything now?
you read over colby's message before setting your phone down. you get off your bed and make your way to stand in the middle of the stairway. you hear out out for noises but you hear nothing.
letting out a deep breath, you didn't know you were holding, you made your way back to bed.
y/n: false alarm, i think i was being paranoid.
colby: you sure? i'll get sam to come over?
colby: i'm at the airport right now.
y/n: no, i'm fine. sorry, i think i just got scared.
colby: don't apologize, okay? text me if you need me, i'll be at yours in a few hours.
y/n: see you later, be safe.
you set your phone down beside you and lay down on your bed. you stare at the ceiling as you play with your fingers, feeling nervously.
what had felt like several minutes turned into nearly an hour.
and you could hear rustling noises again and a slight murmuring.
feeling scared once again, you opened your messages between sam.
as you began typing out a message to him, you heard the microwave beep from downstairs, followed with a small whisper, "fuck"
you stuffed your phone into your pocket hoodie and flung your feet over the bed and to the floor.
you tiptoed over to the stairway and took small, quiet steps downstairs. the murmuring sound now becoming clear.
"what the fuck are you doing here!" you exclaimed.
you watch as the person in the kitchen drops their slice of pizza on the counter.
"fuck" they whispered before turning around.
"colby, what the hell!" you shouted, walking up to him, hitting his bare chest.
he stood shirtless, only in his cargo pants, the chains of his pants tucked into his pocket but hanging out still - so that's what was making that clinking sound.
"i thought you fucking left!" you exclaimed. he chuckled before pointing at the camera, which sat on the island. "the prank wars have started baby" he grins. he walks past you and grabs the camera. "okay, so she caught me" colby pouted, looking over at you, letting the camera too. "but it was worth it cause i get a dropped pizza out of it, and now i get to go to sleep, cuddling this one." colby smirks, wrapping his free arm around you.
you scoff before pushing him away. "you can take the couch." you roll your eyes before attempting to turn to go back upstairs.
colby was quick to grab your wrist. you heard him set the camera down before grabbing you, so you would turn around to face him. "i'm sorry, but pizza night was the perfect time for this prank"
he wrapped his arms around you, looking down at you. "i'm sorry" he pouted, batting his eyelashes.
"you disturbed my sleep colby, you know how much i love my sleep" you groaned. "i'll make it up to you" he smirks. "make it up to me later" you sigh.
"for now, come cuddle me to sleep"
story description
trigger warning: angst, slight gore, vampire attack, blood and hurt mentions, cursing
word count: 4990
~~~~~~~~~~~
The drive back to L.A. was quiet, tense. Even though the ride up I had slept, the ride home I couldn’t even think of sleeping. Mike said he would keep us up to date on Sam. So far we hadn’t heard anything, which was a cause for concern but relieving simultaneously.
He can’t get worse if we don't hear about it… Right?
Colby was silent, his eyes narrowed at the road. I had suggested to him that he could run home, and I’d take the car back. I knew how much hearing Sam was hurt was killing him. But he didn’t want to leave me alone; not to mention running home would tire him out because of how far we were.
I could tell we were almost home, the bright lights of L.A. illuminating the streets. Colby’s driving became more reckless. I trusted him and understood why he wanted to get there as fast as he could. But my heart sped up as we raced by familiar buildings. We were close now, and I felt like jumping out of my skin.
Part of me wanted to cry, part of me wanted to punch a wall. We tried to have a break from life and it came back at us full force. With vengeance.
We pulled into the parking lot of the Trapp Haus. I glanced at Colby, mumbling a ‘go’ to him, and he was gone in a flash.
I locked the car, running into the club and rushing up the first set of stairs. I gave a quick glance at Jake and Tara, who were behind the bar in the VIP section, talking to one another. Tara was comforting Jake, rubbing his back gently.
Mike and Kevin were in the office before the apartment, their voices low and muffled. As I passed by them, I exhaled. “Is he alright?”
They both looked up, their eyes dark. For a moment, I thought I saw Mike's eyes flashed red at the sight of me.
“Go look for yourself.” Kevin grunted, anger clearly on his face.
Mike glared at me, staying silent.
I blinked, nodding my head and going up the stairs. They were upset, but why at me?
Maybe it was because they knew I was the reason for Sam getting hurt. If I hadn’t come into their lives, none of them would gotten hurt. Their lives would be normal, ridden of drama and chaos.
As I stepped into the apartment, my heart ached at the sight of Sam. He laid on the couch, a bandage on his neck. He looked tired and bruised, and it was clear he was still in pain but not as bad as before.
Colby was kneeling at his side, holding his hand.
“Hey stranger. Why the long face?” Sam joked, his voice strained as he gazed at me.
I held in tears, shaking my head. “Nothing. You just look like shit, that’s all.”
“You really know how to make a guy feel good about himself, Jade.” He smirked.
I shrugged, kneeling down next to Colby. “Well I gotta keep you humble. Don’t want you to get big headed.”
“Tell her what happened, Sam.” Colby’s voice was deep and serious, not enjoying our quips.
Sam cleared his throat, “Well, last night I was in the VIP section, drinking and hanging out with everyone. I stepped away to go to the bathroom and when I did... someone attacked me.”
“Who was it?” I gasped.
“I’m not sure. The lights in the club were low and the person, the vampire, had a hood on. I never saw their face.” Sam wrinkled his nose at the memory, “They did have a very sweet smelling perfume on though, so I'm inclined to think they were a girl. That, and the fact they were shorter than me. But again, I never saw their face.”
“Why did they attack you?” I glanced down at the bandage on his neck, noticing his red shirt was not red at all - but a light cream one soaked in dried blood. The realization made my stomach churn, my eyes refocusing on his face.
“They drank a lot from me, almost tearing my neck open. It was like they were in a frenzy. I tried fighting back, but they were incredibly strong,” he hissed. “It wasn't until Jake noticed what was happening to me that they backed off, disappearing into the club. They somehow got out before anyone could find them.”
I rubbed his arm soothingly. “Oh my God, Sam. I'm so sorry.”
He grumbled. “It only got worse from there.”
I inhaled a shaky breath. “What else happened?”
“When everyone found me, something happened to Kat. How she explained it to me over the phone, she couldn't control herself,” Sam shook his head in disbelief. “It was like the moment she saw I was in pain, her magic took over her. In front of everyone, she tried healing me in the middle of the dance floor. A lot of the vampires in the club ran out since most are scared of witches. But anyone else that stayed... they wanted to kill her.”
“Where is she now?” Colby chimed in, standing up and crossing his arms.
“Once she was able to come to, she ran off. I talked to her once the club shut down and I was up here safely, but that was the last I heard of her. She's at her apartment, and doesn't want anyone to see her.” Sam hummed, his eyes narrowing, “Mike and Kevin are pissed.”
“That would explain the sour looks they gave me when I came in. Minus Mike, who always seems annoyed to see me.” I huffed.
“She wasn't able to fully heal me, but she helped a lot. And I'm trying to make them understand that, but they're angry. Vampires and witches just don't mix.” Sam sat up slowly, wincing lightly, “And now they know I've known she's a witch all this time, they're... not happy with me. Or you two, for that matter.”
I scowled, “Well too fucking bad. They've been friends with her longer than we have. Maybe that should give them enough of a clue that if she was malicious she would have done something long before now. I mean for fuck sake she tried healing you. She even tried that on Colby!”
Colby mumbled. “They don't know about that.”
“Maybe they need to know. This isn't the time to split up and lose friendships over centuries old bullshit. We have Rinaldi and Max to deal with, and now this. It's not the time to let egos get in the way.” I argued.
“Why don't you say that to our faces?” Mike sneered.
I spun around, Mike and Kevin strutting into the apartment. Their faces were still bitter, glaring daggers at the three of us.
“You guys are really that upset that Kat is a witch?” I asked, standing up.
“Yes. Finding out that there's been a monster in our group, in our home, is not a pleasant feeling.” Kevin replied sharply.
I rolled my eyes. “A monster? Really? The person that tried healing Sam is a monster? How does that make any sense?”
“How do we know that's what she was doing? She could have been hurting him more for all we know. Or that this healing spell has consequences down the line for him.” Mike accused.
“That's not what she was doing and you know it. The only reason you even hate witches in the first place is because of some old ass beef between vampires and witches, specifically Xiomara.” I spat, “And Kat isn’t Xiomara.”
“Oh, so I'm not allowed to hate the thing that created me? That turned me into this?” Mike’s eyes flashed red again.
“It's not like Kat turned you into a vampire! She tried saving Sam, and Colby, for that matter.” I snapped.
Kevin’s brow furrowed. “What?”
“When Colby was dying, before we ended up giving him my blood, Kat tried to save him. That was the night she revealed that she was a witch to us.” I informed them, my voice almost shaking with anger.
“So you guys have known she's a witch for months?” Kevin deadpanned.
“You've known her for years and she never felt comfortable enough to tell you. That should tell you something about yourselves.” I jeered.
Mike scoffed. “Like I give a fuck if a witch likes me or not.”
“Right, because that's all Kat is to you now. Not a friend, not someone that saved your friends, not a valuable member of this team.... just a witch.” I remarked bitterly.
Mike stared down at me, glaring into my soul.
“Do you know how she became a vampire? She's a blood witch, or was… before a vampire hunted her down and drank from her because he thought it would give him stronger powers. She almost died because she was a witch, because a vampire wanted her dead. Wanted her powers for their own. And instead of taking that anger out on other vampires, she befriended you, and you,” I point at the both of them, moving onto Colby. “And Colby, and Tara. She could have easily hated all of you, but instead decided to forgive your kind for hurting her. And you can't even consider doing the same for her in return?”
I laughed angrily, shaking my head. “Why do I even bother? Clearly you already made up your minds. Us being divided is how we're gonna end up getting hurt or killed by Rinaldi or whatever else comes our way, you know that right? Are you gonna be able to live with yourself when Sam dies? Or Jake? Or me? But let me guess. You would rather have me dead anyway, Mike.”
The strangest thing occurred in that moment. For the briefest of seconds, Mike's eyes fluttered an emotion I hadn't seen from him. Pain. Hurt.
My anger was too strong to deal with whatever he was going through internally. I turned on my heel and stormed out, racing down the steps and to the door. Jake and Tara must have left because they were nowhere to be found.
I wasn't sure where I was going, but I needed to get out of the apartment.
“Jade, wait!” Sam's voice rang out behind me.
I stopped, spinning back around to see Sam and Colby following after me. Sam limped up to me, his body clearly still in pain from his attack. My anger dissolved slightly.
“Kat wanted me to give this to you.” Sam held out my necklace.
I took it from him, confused. “Why did she give this to you?”
“When she came to in the club, she basically chucked the thing at me. I kept it and when I asked her on the phone why she did that, she said she felt like it was what caused her powers to come out. Like it quadrupled whatever powers she had inside of her. She claimed it's been making her feel on edge since she started wearing it a night or two ago.” He explained.
“How... strange.” I commented, gazing down at it.
“She told me to give it back to you and that she would rather you keep it now than her.” Sam continued.
“Well, it's mine anyway,” I shrugged. “So her powers didn't fully heal you?”
“Not completely, no. It was like she was in a trance once she saw me bleeding out. When she came out of it, she ran like a bat out of hell. Plus, I don't think she fully knows how to heal someone. She told me she's a bit rusty.” Sam breathed out a laugh, rubbing his bandaged neck.
“Probably why her powers didn't work on me.” Colby responded.
“Maybe…” I placed the necklace back on me, “Hey, why don't you drink some vampire blood? It heals things faster.”
Sam grimaced. “I hate the taste of it.”
I hummed, “Really? I don't personally think it tastes bad, all things considered.”
“Yeah, well you're drinking from your boyfriend. I would have to drink it from Kevin or Mike since Kat isn’t here.” Sam mentioned. “It apparently tastes better coming from someone you love.”
Colby and I glanced at one another, a light blush crossing my cheeks.
Colby cleared his throat. “You don't think I would give you some?”
“Well you're spoken for Colby. It wouldn't be right.” Sam quipped, a small smile on his lips..
He pffted. “I highly doubt Jade would care, Sam.”
Sam sassed, “What if I don't want to drink your blood, Colby?”
“Are you saying my blood isn't good enough for your... refined palette?” Colby feigned a gasp.
“Are you guys done having your lover's quarrel or should I leave?” I joked, pointing to the exit.
Colby’s face turned serious. “You're not staying here?”
“Mike’s here. Do you really have to ask?” I deadpanned.
He blinked. “You sure as hell ain't sleeping alone at your apartment tonight.”
“Then come over with me.” I batted my eyelashes flirtatiously.
“Maybe I should head back upstairs now,” Sam took a step back, scrunching his face. “I gotta get some rest anyway. I've basically been up since eight A.M. and now it's... almost six A.M..”
“Go. Me and Colby will be fine.” I gave Sam a quick hug, “And thank you for giving me back my necklace.”
“Of course. Goodnight Jade.” Sam turned to Colby, blowing him an obnoxious kiss, “Goodnight... lover.”
He caught it dramatically, “Missing you already, husband.”
I chuckled, “I shouldn't feel like I'm third wheeling, but I do.”
Colby rolled his eyes at me, grabbing my hand and walking us back to the car. “I’ll make it up to you when we get home.”
~\/\/~
Colby stayed over at my apartment for the whole day. We passed the time by sleeping on and off, ordering food - since I never had any in my apartment anymore - and watching TV. I had called off of work for a day, then had the weekend off. But I texted Roger about coming in and he was delighted to have me come in. Going to work was better than wallowing in my apartment, worrying about what was going to happen next to any one of us. What dangers lurked around the next corner.
Colby decided to head out for the night as well, doing his usual routine of security detail at the Trapp Haus. It was especially necessary after last night's attack on Sam. Sam, luckily, had no plans to hang out in the club - thinking it was best to chill in the apartment. Jake was going to keep him company, and also keep watch. Colby filled me in on all of these details as he drove me to work, telling me he would pick me up once my shift was done.
He kissed my lips softly, his eyes studying my face. "Are you gonna okay tonight?"
“I think so,” I nodded. “Tell Sam I'm sorry.”
“Why?” He questioned.
“Because we all know why he was attacked. Because of me…” I trailed off, holding back tears.
Colby tilted my head up, his eyes boring into mine. “Don't place that blame on yourself, Jade. Me and Sam have made a lot of enemies over the years. We hunt vampires for a living, you know.”
“Yes, but clearly the uptick in attacks has only gone up once I came into your lives.” I pointed out, shaking my head.
“And I don't regret that for a second. I want you here. So does Sam. Do not take blame for some asshole vampire attacking him.” He dissented.
“I can't help it... It feels like my fault.” I murmured.
He leaned back in his chair, sighing. “It's not. Sam doesn't think it is. I don't think so either. And nobody else in our group blames you.”
“Mike probably does.” I mentioned.
Colby scoffed. “Well, Mike's an asshole. And he can fuck off for all I care.”
“I feel bad. You shouldn't feel that way about him. He is your friend.” I argued halfheartedly.
“Clearly he has to have issues going on upstairs if he thinks that talking to you the way he does is appropriate. You are my girlfriend, and no one talks to you like that around me.” He sucked his teeth, “I'll set him straight.”
I gazed at him longingly. “You know, you're really sexy when you get all protective.”
He smirked. “Then you must find me sexy all the time.”
I agreed. “I do.”
He bit his lip, giving me a once over. ”....Get inside before I make you call out.”
“Colby!” I gasped, unbuckling my seatbelt. “Fine, I'm going.”
“I'll see you in a couple hours.” He called out the window.
“Have fun!” I jested.
He snickered, “Yeah, I'll try.”
I waved goodbye to him, stepping inside the bar quickly. I exhaled, not excited for the night ahead of me.
“Hey Jade, glad to see you. Can you go to the back and restock all of our vodkas? We're running low on them.” Roger spoke quickly, carrying two big bags of trash. He stopped abruptly, turning back to me. “Also tell Ronnie to actually stick for her whole shift tonight. Last night she bailed a whole two hours before she was supposed to and I'm not letting that shit slide next time.”
“Good to see you too, Roger.” I chuckled, and Roger raced out the door. Then I mumbled, “But why can't you tell her yourself?”
I walked to the back, grabbing my apron off the wall and tying it around my waist. I shoved my stuff into my locker, fixing my hair in the mini mirror next to it.
“Hello? Roger are you back - Oh.” Ronnie yelled, stopping in her tracks when she saw me.
I made eye contact with Ronnie through the mirror. “I think Roger's taking out the trash.”
She pursed her lips, “I didn't think you were going to be in tonight.”
“I wasn’t supposed to be in. But I called out yesterday because me and Colby had a little trip planned, and then that fell through. So… I’m here.” I explained, giving a tight lipped smile.
She scrunched up her face. “Why?”
“Um... family emergency. His side, not mine,” I lied. “How has the night been so far?”
“Not too bad. All of our usuals are in and asking for you.” She giggled.
I rolled my eyes playfully, walking out of our little back area. “Lovely. Hopefully I make some good tips tonight.”
“So far I've made $15.” She noted.
“That's not too bad.” I grabbed a couple bottles of vodka, pointing the others out to Ronnie. “Can you take those for me?”
She nodded. “Sure.”
We strolled out to the bar - waiting for us was a line of customers all wanting drinks. They looked annoyed, glaring at me as I placed the bottles down.
I rushed over, smiling. “Sorry about that, yall. Let me start with you, and then I'll get all your drink orders in. Alright?”
The first man wanted a vodka cran, easy enough. I placed it in, charged his card, and went to the next customer. As they began to spit out their multiple drinks, I looked over at Ronnie. I waved at her, trying to get her attention to come help, but she was on the phone. The red neon lights from the bar reflected on her skin, a glow illuminating off of her.
For a moment, it looked like an aura. But I knew it was the lights.
I turned back to the customer, finishing up her order and taking her cash for the multiple beers and cocktails she got for her table.
The next two customers were still deciding on what they wanted, so I began making the vodka cran.
“Hey, so what did the girl order?” Ronnie asked, tapping the bar.
I topped off the vodka cran with ice, “It's on the screen. What were you doing over there?”
“What do you mean?” She stared at me, puzzled.
I turned to her, just as confused. “I was waving you down to help but you weren't paying attention to me.”
“You were?” She cocked her head.
“Yes…” I gazed at her, furrowing my brow. “Who were you on the phone with?”
She stepped over to the register’s screen, muttering, “I was on the phone?”
“Yeah? You had it up to your ear and you were saying something, so I assume you were talking to someone.” I deadpanned, annoyed.
“Oh... it must have been a wrong number.” She laughed awkwardly.
I raised an eyebrow, looking her over. “...Okay then. I'll get her order going, just give this vodka cran to table eight please. And I think table eleven needs a refill on their pitcher.”
She took the drink from me, leaving quickly. “Gotcha.”
I stared at Ronnie as she shuffled over to table eight. She looked fine, but how could she not remember she was on the phone less than a minute after being on it?
Before I could even think about it further, the two guys at the bar finally knew what they wanted.
~\/\/~
“$73… $74.... $75.” Ronnie counted, laying out her dollars on the counter.
I whistled. “Oooh, new record. How much did you make last night?”
She revealed. “$70.”
“Maybe you would have made more if you stuck for your whole shift.” I joked, winking.
“I was only gone for two hours!” She smacked my arm, laughing.
“Yeah the last two, apparently. What did you have to go do anyway?” I asked, spraying down the bar.
“I... I don't remember, honestly,” her face twisted for a second, before it relaxed. “I probably just wanted to go home early.”
I hummed, moving onto the tables in the bar. “I get that.”
She followed me, sweeping around the tables, “So, Colby's picking you up in an hour? That must be exciting.”
I smiled, thinking of him. “Yeah, I guess you could say that.”
“You're almost glowing at the mere mention of him. Did you two finally have sex?” Ronnie smirked.
I blushed, looking away from her.
She gushed, “Oh my God, shut up you totally did! Tell me everything about it.”
“I'm definitely not telling you everything.” I cackled, swatting at her.
“Well, was he good at least?” She grabbed my wrist, making me look at her.
It was my turn to smirk, “Very.”
She gaped at me, “You need to tell me more than that! You can't just-!”
Her cell phone rang loudly, cutting her off. She glanced at it, picking it up and walking away from me as she talked quietly.
I wiped down the table, making sure to get all of the nooks and crannies. I sprayed the seats next, rubbing the cleaning spray into the hard wood of the bar stools. A gush of air hit my back suddenly, making me jolt.I looked over my shoulder to see Ronnie.
“Sorry about that.” Her voice was low, almost monotone.
“Jesus, Ronnie! You scared me.” I exhaled, catching my breath.
“Didn't mean to. My bad.” She commented, taking a step back from me.
I moved onto the next table, shaking my head jokingly. “It's fine, just don't do it again.”
“Can I ask you something, Jade?” Ronnie inquired, her voice even and calm.
“Sure. What's up?” I replied, finishing cleaning the bar stools.
She accused, her voice cold. “How long did you know Kat was a witch? Or did you not know at all?”
My heart dropped, my body freezing instantly. The hair on the back of my neck stood up as fear crept over my being.
I've never mentioned Kat to Ronnie. Maybe in passing, yes. But I've never told her Kat was a witch.
How the fuck does she know this?
I stuttered, moving onto another table to clean, trying to play off my nervousness. “W-What?”
“Kat, the girl that's dating Sam... she's a witch.” She stated.
I chuckled dramatically, “She is? News to me.”
“Really? You don't seem that surprised to hear about it.” Her face dropped, her eyes almost glaring, “Are you telling me the truth?”
I glared back, skipping the table altogether to put some space between us. “Of course I am. Why would I lie to you?”
“I feel like you've lied before. Or at least you never tell me the whole story.” She admitted fiercely.
“I always tell you the truth. You're my friend, I wouldn't lie to you.” I pulled my phone out of my pocket, “You know, this news is so shocking to hear, I better call Colby and let him know-”
“Don't do that.” She suddenly appeared in front of me, yanking my phone out of my hand. As I tried reaching for it, she crushed it into her palm, breaking it instantly.
Oh my God. “Y-you're a-”
Ronnie gripped my arms suddenly, pulling me close to her. "Friends tell each other the truth, Jade. You are my best friend, and you're gonna tell me the truth about Kat."
A yellow aura began to surround her, enveloping me. Her eyes bore into mine, and it became all apparent what she wanted. Her power was of the manipulation kind, but in a way much nicer - so to speak. She could easily make anyone befriend her. She used friendship as a method to get those around her to relax and tell her the truth. She wanted me to tell her everything, like a best friend would.
On the cusp of her aura, a red tinge glowed with hers; almost blending into it.
I had to act fast, because there was no way I could get out of this one alive if I made it apparent her powers didn't work on me. Who knows how strong she is? And I really didn't want to kill or hurt her.
I took a deep breath, knowing what I needed to do.
I smiled up at her, nodding my head. “I'll tell you everything, Ronnie.”
She grinned back, “Good. So what do you know-”
“But first, we should have celebratory shots. To being best friends!” I exclaimed, tearing myself from her grasp.
She blinked, giving a minor shrug, “...Sure. That's the spirit.”
I raced around the other side of the bar, “Let me make them up real quick. Sit on down.”
I grabbed two shot glasses, and a bottle of tequila. I went under the counter, grabbing our salt container and dish to rim the glasses.
“You don't need to do all of that.” She told me, gesturing to the salt.
“Yes I do. A friendship like ours deserves this.” I slid my hands into my pockets, tightening my hold on the vial of Angelica flower.
She cocked her head, “I thought you didn't like tequila.”
"Well, I've grown to like it recently." I faked a weird glance over towards the door behind her, "Jesus can't people read signs? We’re closed!"
She spun around, “What? Is someone at the door?”
I poured out the contents of the vial, rimming her glass quickly. I even made sure to put some in her glass for good measure. She turned back to me, staring at me oddly. "No one was at the door."
"Oh, must be my imagination then." I rimmed my glass, pouring the tequila in immediately afterwards.
Dear God above, I pray this works. I don't have any other vials with me and using my phone was out of the question. My only other option was my stake, hidden carefully around my ankle under my jeans.
I would hate to have to kill her. But I'm not dying to her, either.
I placed her shot glass down, a lime wedge next to it. “Cheers to our friendship. May it last forever.”
“Cheers.” Ronnie smirked, taking the shot quickly.
I watched her over my shot glass. Her eyes widened as she swallowed, the skin around her mouth burning and peeling suddenly. It was like her skin was on fire, being burned from the inside out. She screamed at the top of her lungs, clawing at her throat. Her eyes turned red, veins popping out from underneath as she launched herself towards me angrily. I was able to dodge her, jumping up on the bar as she collapsed onto the floor. Her gurgled cries and yells grew louder as she stood up, swinging for me, fangs bared. I kicked the tray of salt and Angelica flower into her face, a banshee-like screech ripping from her almost decaying mouth and throat. I landed on the other side of the bar, watching her like a hawk. My chest heaved, my skin prickling with heat and anxiety.
She reached an arm out towards me, trying to grab at me. Her evil eyes casted a vacant stare onto me, her teeth and fangs visible as her skin melted off. Her eyes rolled back into her head, and she dropped to the ground loudly as glass shattered around her.
I waited to hear anything for a second, wondering if I just killed my best friend.
I raced around to the other side of the bar, seeing her still form. She was breathing lightly, and the amount of powder I gave her wouldn't have killed her, especially since she hadn't ingested it all. She was knocked out, but would most likely come to sooner rather than later.
I stumbled to Roger's office, locking the door. I took his office phone and pounded in the number for the Trapp Haus. I waited anxiously, hoping someone would pick up.
Kevin’s voice came through, muffled slightly by music playing in the background. “Hello? Kevin speaking.”
“Thank God you picked up, holy shit.” I exhaled loudly, gripping the phone.
“Jade, what's-” He started.
I cut him off, “Tell Colby to get over here now. Ronnie's a vampire, and she just tried attacking me. And tell Tara I’m a great liar.”
