(sunflower) which povs will you be watching this season? Doc, Etho, Gem, Keralis, Pearl, Beef, Bdubs, and xB mainly (as in, I expect to watch every episode of theirs), with a dash of Tango, Stress, and Mumbo. I'll definitely also watch others-- it's hard to tell so early in the season whose projects will catch my eye the most.

(coat) whose new skin is your favourite? I really like Gem's! Though Beef's farmer outfit is also up there.

(wing) for the avian Grian fans, what do their wings look like in S10? hmm I'm not too immersed in avian!Grian, but I've seen some cool concepts for this! I think making him waterfowl could fit with the early-season fishing extravaganza: the common loon's speckled wings are gorgeous, and they're mostly water-bound birds (although they can fly, it takes them a wide expanse of water to get up to speed to get in the air. This is partly because their bones are denser than most birds' in order to facilitate their diving to catch fish! Fishing Grian = fishing bird? maybe?) Also loons have neat red eyes which could go well with some of the Grian-has-spooky-eyes headcanons. :D

note: this post is me being salty about heartstopper

I think I've managed to resist saying much bad about heartstopper on here, because I didn't (couldn't) watch it and see how they ruined the characters from Solitaire that meant so much to me when I was sixteen. Just a few days ago, though, I was talking to a friend and finally asked the question that was on my mind the most, namely, "what did hearstopper-the-show say about Charlie's mental health issues?"

and apparently the answer is... virtually nothing?

you have to understand that Solitaire was a book about how mental illness is bigger than just you. Charlie's piece, specifically, in that novel, felt to me like a reflection on what having a severely mentally ill member of your family can be like. Tori and her parents are struggling with how to manage Charlie's issues and live their own lives after everything Charlie's been through. In that book, the most poignant scene to me, was always the scene where Nick leaves during dinner and Charlie relapses, and Tori is barely holding on. It's an angsty book about mental illness.

Heartstopper (the comic) was fine-- until it turned into a fluff piece. It dulled a lot of the things that made Charlie, Charlie: his time in inpatient, for example, was treated as an aside, barely relevant to his character or experiences. All of the mental health issues that he /should/ be dealing with to fit into continuity with Solitarie (which came first!!), have been erased and forgotten. To have Solitaire be so much about mental illness, and then have heartstopper ignore? all of that?? huge disappointment, frankly.

idk maybe I'm the only one who read Solitaire when it first came out, and therefore the only one with that particular notion of him. Heartstopper might be okay in other respects-- but you can't tell me that's Charlie Spring.
