I watched Gokushufudo the other day and Ahhhh!! This scene screamed TojiIta to me. So I drew it.

Jin was weirdly nervous about taking Darcy to Obon-- and not just because hew as afraid she was going to sock him in the nose again. The festival itself wouldn’t be a problem. There would be tons of things to do and eat, things that would serve as a distraction from the thing that was really bothering him.

Visiting his parents’ grave was a deeply personal thing-- not even his men had visited to pay their respects when he went. It was an unspoken rule that it was family only. Granted, Darcy was supposedly family now, but it wasn’t the same. He was sure the spirits of his parents would know about the whole ruse and it would be disastrous.

That’s why he was telling himself he was nervous, at least. Not because he was going to have to be vulnerable in front of her. Nope. It was definitely just the spirits thing.

“Darcy,” he called out. “Come here, I have something for you to put on before we go.”

Since Obon, Darcy had seemed to warm up to him quite a bit. They were texting almost daily at this point, and not just about the whole business of being fake married. No, Darcy sent him near constant updates about her day and Jin would send her as much as he could about his. Most of the time, he just sent pictures of Kuma, which she seemed to like.

It was like they were friends now. Real friends instead of whatever the hell they had going on before. And sometimes Jin could swear there was even a little bit more.

As much of a pain as she could be when she wanted to be, Jin wouldn't deny that he thought Darcy was a very attractive woman. He wouldn't act on it, of course; it would feel too much like taking advantage of the situation. Plus, he didn't even know for sure if she was interested in that sort of thing or not. Maybe she was this friendly with everyone.

Except this most recent text sort of threw him for a loop. He was in the middle of a Syndicate meeting when it went through and he nearly dropped his phone after he opened the message.

"Is there a problem, Jin?" his uncle asked, annoyed.

"No," he said a little to quickly. "I'm sorry."

He stowed the phone away in his pocket and tried to focus on the rest of the meeting. But all he could think about was the image he'd seen.

The rest of the meeting lasted a million years, and when he was finally free, he hurried out of the room before his anyone could pull him aside for a chat. He knew it was rude, but he was going to lose his mind if he didn't have some explanation for what he'd seen.

He was nervous as he dialed her number and even more nervous when she answered.

"Um," he said dumbly, not sure what he was even going to say. "Hi."
