The sword and sorcery film was directed by John Milius. The screenplay was written by Oliver Stone and John Milius. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Earl Jones, Sandahl Bergman, Ben Davidson, Cassandra Gaviola, Gerry Lopez, Mako, Valerie Quennessen, William Smith and Max von Sydow.
Random fact: Several violent scenes were cut from the film during the editing process, which took over a year.
