I like to think Vertin's mother's name is Veritas. That is all :3

I can't wait for them to reveal her! I want to know what name she had for Vertin before the Foundation took Smoltin in. Although, it's hard to imagine her as any other name now. Vertin just fits our handsomely androgynous pookie. Maybe she'll pull a Schneider and let that name go anyway even if she does learn it.

So I don't actually know. How. To make this post in like a way that makes sense because hoo boy I'm running on like pure pain and spite and I have no actual knowledge of things BEYOND of what I'm reading so half of this is me glueing clues together with bullshitted facts anyways

This is the lore I got from Poltergeist's info, and some other extra things (do note that this is based off my own speculations and theories so uh have a spoonful of salt with this):

Poltergeist (name still unknown (or maybe I missed it I don't trust myself)) is a 15yo spirit who died in the 1960s and haunts her hometown, which is Broward County, Florida

Lowkey estimate her actual birthyear to be around the 1940s or 1950s but idk I never did good in math anyways

In regards to how she actually died, this is how I think shit went down:

There was beach party that was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during spring in some year around the 1960s.

Now Polt here isn't very fond of going outside because of how sensitive she is to the sun

But despite her condition, she always wanted to go out and enjoy life like how she sees other people do in tv.

So after hearing news about the beach party, she decided that she's going to attend it, just so that she could be like the "popular girls" (judging by her behavior and voicelines, Polt seems to have low self-esteem and always compares herself to other, mostly to actresses on tv and etc)

Now, it's pretty apparent that Poltergeist died because of drowning, it's even mentioned in her voiceline where she describes what she last saw before passing

But a part of me wants to say that Poltergeist probably died without anyone noticing, or like yknow, people didn't realized Poltergeist was drowning before it was too late.

The reason why I feel like this is the case is because a majority of Polt's voicelines hints to her wanting to be noticed/not be left behind by (Vertin)

(I have more picture references but Tumblr is mean to me so imma just type out the rest of the references)

Poltergeist Idle voiceline, continuing from the image above: "Oh my God ... Where are you? Don't leave me alone! Please..."

Poltergeist Night voiceline: "Listen! Did you hear that? The ticking sound of a clock. This... This is too quite. Nobody noticed me. Nobody looked over. I... I..."

But also I'm not that certain about it since it could be just me looking too deep into her timidly behavior

Anyways, after her death, she became the talk of her hometown for a short while, at best a couple of years if not only for a few months

A section of her 03 story interview:

Pandora Wilson: Could you tell me about tour hometown? I mean, Broward County?

Poltergeist: ...Everyone forgot about me...

Poltergeist: It was such a shocking tragedy, but no one remembers it now. They all forgot about me, like I never existed...

Pandora Wilson: Is that why you repeatedly returned to your hometown?

After seeing how she's forgotten by everyone, she returned to her hometown as a poltergeist and started to haunt people at random (there's no actual reference or mention of who she haunts so I'm just assuming it's just the county in general)

A paragraph from her 02 story:

According to the investigation record of the police in Broward County, Florida, theblocal poltergeist incidents which took place from 1960-1965 had the following similarities:

Aaaaand I guess that's it? I don't know if I missed anything important but lemme just throw in trivia facts about Poltergeist in here:

- she mentions that she has a mom but never mentions about her dad at all so I assume that her mom is a single mother? No hints whether her dad is dead, alive or a secret third option so this is the safest assumption.

- apparently??? The octopus in her hair and around her leg is also a ghost???? It was mentioned as her second item. either it points to Poltergeist being dead for a long while before returning as a spirit or something else, I have no real clue

- it's mentioned that Poltergeist picked up a third leg somewhere, specifically she "dig it". I'm just gonna guess that she picked up someone else's leg that was on the ocean floor (apparently there were a lot of drowning cases at Fort Lauderdare so it's not that surprising to find more bodies down there. I'm just curious as to why Poltergeist even took someone's leg while also forgetting that people only have 2 legs.)

And I think that's all that I have. Again, this is just my own speculations and theories, and uh yeah I guess that's all that I can find about Poltergeist from the hit game Reverse 1999. Hey Bluepoch you better give more Poltergeist content soon you better-

But consider in addition, Vertin's mom and Arcana had a situationship and that's why Arcana is so interested in vertin. i don't have evidence yet i'm still watching a playthrough of the story but this is true to me.

My Reverse: 1999 Rarepairs/crackships!

Exactly what it says in the title! I’ve seen a couple other people talk about their favorite rarepairs for r1999, so I thought I’d do it for mine!!

(Technically some of these are just characters I think would interact well, not all of them have to be romantic) (and also not all of them are super duper rare)

An-An Lee x Poltergeist

- I just really like the ghost enthusiast x ghost dynamic in general, this counts for horropedia and An-An Lee with any of the ghost characters tbf

- But An-An Lee and Poltergeist specifically would be cool because of their personalities!!

- Poltergeist is obviously more shy, while An-An Lee seems a bit more outspoken, and I can really see An-An Lee helping Poltergeist help gain confidence!

- Either way, very cute dynamic and I like it a lot!

Tennant x Sweetheart

- Originally, Sweetheart was my main theory for who the other character in Tennants I2 Portrait, along with maybe Mesmer Jr.

- While I definitely don’t think it is anymore, I still like the concept of them having a relationship!

- Tennant would definitely be in it to scam Sweetheart, but I think Sweetheart would at least know some of it due to her being familiar with Hollywood secrets and the drama that goes down there

- If they did become “partners in crime” I think they would legitimately be the best power-couple ever. I just don’t know if there would ever be a scenario where they both show their cards, so I don’t know if they’d ever reach that point sadly.

- Their rich girlboss energy knows no bounds, and together they will be unstoppable

Sweetheart x Bette

- Actor x Stunt double, just another fun concept!! (I saw a similar idea with Blonney and Bette as well, which would also be cool!)

- Sweetheart is sassy and assertive but befriends her innocent stunt double and takes her to Hollywood parties

- Bette is so confused but Sweetheart is her idol so it’s not like she’s going to say no

- It would basically be like the sassy popular girl falls in love with nerd/shy girl trope, Hollywood edition

- I think they would be very cute though!

ONiON x TTT

- The only news station TTT isn’t sick of

- She was actually covered by one of ONiON’s stories, and she’s been a big fan ever since!

- When ONiON meets her, they hit it off immediately!

- Both of them have different brands of eccentric show host vibes and I’m here for it

AliEn T x Sputnik

- The space besties

- Sputnik literally references AliEn T’s lines, what can I say

- Mostly just them lying to each other about exactly what/who they are to hilarious results

- Sitting as silence as we speak (consider each other their best friends and know each other really well despite this)

- There’s really no other special reason, I just think they’d get along!!

Constantine x Vertin’s Mom

- Not super rare technically

- There is no info on it but it’s both a super interesting and very funny concept

- I saw a post a while ago about the parallels between Madame Z, Constantine, and Vertin’s Mom to Matilda, Sonetto, and Vertin, and it was really cool!

Regulus x X

- Technically this one I like more as a friendship, but I still want to talk about it

- Regulus hung out with X for longer than she did Vertin, there’s no way they aren’t at least somewhat friends

- They’re both sneakily coming up with ideas of pranking people with machines (They were both definitely giggling at the idea of pouring tea on Forget-me-not)

What if Madam Z didn't have that much of a good relationship with her mother. Madam Z's relationship with her mother as a young adult was probably decent and she still loves her mom but what if during her childhood, her mother was distant and albeit a bit strict with her.

That maybe due to the hard life of poverty, her mother had to work more for the needs of the family. Unintentionally putting the pressure on Z to grow up quickly to help them, that maybe she became a sciencetist because it's her dream but also to make her family proud, her mother proud. Her mother was a flawed woman, who was going through the hardships of life, sometimes taking her emotions out on her own children. It left a mark for the two of them, something that'll never go away but can be healed through time.

Maybe Z grew up in a home where she didn't have the time to be a child and her mother to hold her hand to guide her, to shelter her from the dangers, her mother tried her best but sadly, it wasn't enough. Maybe that's why she cared so much for Vertin, a child forced into a role that is too big for her, a child who had no adult figure to guide her through the storm. So Madam Z held her hand, sheltered her from the rain as much as she could in her power. Madam Z became the image of the mother that she missed and longed for, to a child who sought comfort from the storm.

A bonus thought: Her family could barely afford to celebrate her birthday during her childhood so the few times they can, it was really special. When it was her birthday and her family couldn't afford to celebrate, she would buy a small cupcake and put a small candle on it, she would sing happy birthday to herself and blow the candle out; Sometimes a lonely celebration in your office is enough, it feels like home.

I like Vertin's messiah parallels so I bring to you the theory: what if she was a virgin birth like Mary had with Jesus?

Vertin's mom disappears for months on end and throws the people that know her into a tizzy looking everywhere for her, then she casually rolls up to the Foundation one day with a fucking. newborn child. That looks a lot like her.

"Who's child is that?" Constantine asks.

"Mine, of course???"

"But you've never shown any interest in... who's the father, then?"

"... yeah i actually have no idea lmfao. i'm gay and you already know that, Constantine."

okay but humans being the only one affected by the storm given the theory that it represents noah's ark and schneider represents judas means that humans are considered the sinners. schneider's betrayal paralleled to judas was her not being an arcanist, and vertin is implied to be neither arcanist nor human like jesus which is why she can brave the storm. is her mom just... the equivalent of mother mary....

Hello there, I saw you followed and after seeing your profile I was curious as to what your thoughts on Arcana are, namely as to not only why she wanted Vertin to join Manus, but also why she did not kill her when she had the chance.

I am only just getting past the battle with 'The Guiding One' so I apologize if some of this redundant information is answered in the game, but I am curious as to your thoughts on the matter.

Arcana had Vertin and her crew dead to rights, if she had kept calling forth that sludge and her Followers, then she probably could have wiped us all out then and there in that camp, and yet she instead left us alive for whatever reason.

While she could just want Vertin to come her side willingly later on, so that she can have access to her 'ark', alongside of the potential trove of information that Vertin can offer to her and Manus as a whole, there is nothing keeping her from just forcing her into subservience and keeping her shackled to her side by force as opposed to letting us go as she did.

There is also the questions she asked Vertin and her reactions to the answers she received, namely in regards to Vertin telling her about the immunity to the Storm that the Foundation has been searching for.

What I mean by that is, why did she say Vertin was lying? How could Arcana have known she was lying unless she knew the answer herself, and if she did, why ask Vertin?

Also, how could she know the Foundation is creating the Storm? There is an equal chance that it is a force brought about by a third party that is beyond both Manus and the Foundation, and yet she seems so certain that it is St. Pavlov making the Storm, why?

I am curious as to your thoughts on these matters and your opinion on them, again I apologize if these questions are redundant or the answers contain spoilers for later in the game.

Hey! Thank you for the ask. Maybe she was bored and wanted to watch us? I don't really know. Perhaps she kept us alive because she wanted us to infiltrate The Foundation, or maybe to get alliances with our friends. There's a lot of reasons to keep someone like us alive.
