You know I enjoy tiktok as a place to post stupid memes and silly animatics and me dancing around with my dinosaur mask, but when you actually try to post a genuine take on something, you'll be met with some of the dumbest motherfuckers alive. I remember someone made a post calling out the ableism in WCUE, and how people on that game will tell disabled cats they can't be warriors and it's too unrealistic and shit like that. And I made a response saying how a mentality like that is a result of the books themselves, because the series constantly teaches children that disabled people are incapable of doing the same jobs able bodied people can. That then leads to people in rps and rp games fully believing that the books are right, and thinking it's 'against the rules' or 'unrealistic' for disabled cats to be anything other than medicine cats or elders. I then went on to bring up WoF as an example of a series that doesn't really do that. WoF is def not perfect when it comes to disabled rep, but it handles disabled characters far better than Warriors. Many of the RainWings think Tamarin is weird or incapable of helping in the royal challenge, but you're never supposed to agree with them. She then goes on beat the flower challenge in like record time, proving that she is in fact just as skilled as the other dragons. Whiteout being neurodivergent is something that is absolutely essential to who she is as a person. The second she starts acting "normally," it's not seen as a relief, it's seen as a cause for alarm. Arctic enchanting her condition away isn't treated as a good thing, it's a violation to Whiteout, a horrible thing he does to her. This is largely why you don't see a lot of ableism in WoF games or WoF rps, because the books aren't hammering it into children's skulls that being disabled means you're not as skilled as able bodied people, and you can't do the same tasks as them. You rarely see people saying shit like "disabled dragons can't be soldiers, disabled dragons can't be queens." I'm sure it still happens, but not to the extent of the warrior cats fandom, because WoF has several disabled characters who are shown to be just as capable as everyone else

I then received multiple comments saying "But Tui wrote warriors!! She wrote warrior cats!! She's responsible for all the ableism in warrior cats!!" I'll just let you decide why that's a piss poor response

IT'S FINALLY REAL!!! After all these years, a Warrior Cats animated production has just been announced!

Warrior Cats and the company Coolabi Productions have formed a deal with Tencent Videos to finally create a Warrior Cats animated production!

"In collaboration with Coolabi, Tencent Video will work with the original characters and storylines to create animated adaptations for audiences across the globe. This will be the first authorised official animation of Warrior Cats, which we know the fans have been requesting for many years!" ~(Stated on the official Warrior Cats Hub)

things i’d like to see more frequently in the wcue roleplay scene: (long post)

-sharing tongues (cats gossip in wcue like no other. but they don’t actually share tongues! this includes sharing tongues with a cat before they are buried.)

-vigils apon becoming a warrior (this is NEVER done. it’d bring a new air to the roleplay, i think!)

-elders burying cats. (usually the leader, medicine cat, or a random warrior will do in rp.)

-elders and queens in general. this includes den dads and early retired cats!

-apprentices travelling to the moonstone with the leader. (this used to happen in the early arcs. since most wcue players are only knowledgable on these arcs, this would be a great thing to pick up on doing)

-proper battle training, battles in general. (most apprentices either never recieve a mentor or only go on the occasional hunting or border patrol. battle sparring never actually includes learning new techniques most of the time!) (battles straight up do not happen. skirmishes do. Usually with rogues!)

-a more even spread of cats. Usually most of the server will flock to one clan (80%), 15% will become rogues or loners, and 5% are either non-cats or kittypets.) with the addition of more clans comes more interesting conflicts! (taking territory, battles, gatherings, tresspassers, forbidden love.) ideally in a 60 people server, there’d be 12-15 cats in each clan, or in a two-clan server, 20-30, with the rest going to outsiders/non-cats.)

-more time for deputies and leaders. A deputy in wcue is far more important than the leader in almost every way, which is NOT a good thing. a deputy should be able to appoint patrols, be able to join said patrols, and still have time to talk before they have to sleep. the leader usually has to officiate ceremonies and talk about allowing in outsiders, as well as recieve reports. leaders should be able to join patrols as well.

-apprentice’s assessments. this is, in my opinion, the least utilized aspect for app players. when a cat reaches close to warrior’s age (in wcue, this is 12 moons), the leader (or deputy) talks with the app’s mentor and haves said apprentice go on a solo hunting mission. if they bring back enouh prey, they’re granted their warrior name. usually the deputy or leader also conducts regular normal assessments to check the progress of the young cats.

-more diverse personality types. in wcue, there generally are only six personality types: charming, ‘evil’, quiet, aggressive/rude, kind, and nervous. most cats don’t go into depth beyond these core traits, and i think it would be really nice to see a more diverse cast of personalities. there’s plenty of generators online for personality types if needed!

-medicine cat apprentice appointments. just straight up- this does not happen. they have their own special moonstone ceremony! why wouldn’t you utilize that? and on second note:

-medicine cat gatherings. also straight up do not happen.

general parts of fandom changes i want to see

-the stop of use of names like ‘blindkit’ or ‘lostsight’. this is pretty obvious.

-not using overly complicated words to seem experienced! this is a big one. part of the exp/luna debate, many players like to have over-complicated names, use words people straight up don’t know, anything of the like to seem sophisticated. warriors itself does not use words like orbits or cranium. stop

-stop the hate around younger players. generally, in wcue, there’s a INSANE, and i mean INSANE hate for younger players. given a cruel nickname like ‘luna’ because it’s a common name for young kids to use, people make fun of little kids who are just learning about roleplaying. how is a kid supposed to become experienced if you’re just being cruel. instead, the least you can do is void them, or at least teach them a thing or two.

-less apprentice groups. (this is a bit nitpicky) these usually only exist because people find teenage drama interesting, but apprentice groups are pure terrors to the rp scene. they usually don’t take a mentor, refrain from training- only hunting occasionally, and are very unaware of the ongoings of the rest of the clan because of their personal interdrama. these groups will flock in around 7-10 apprentices, which insanely disrupts a clan’s balance. a apprentice friend group should be a natural thing- one that occurs from training or patrolling together, not sitting and camp and crushing on each other.

(also nitpicky) -less magic schools. i know you’re trying to roleplay harry potter. stop. don’t do that

-roblox groups dedicated to organized rps! many people don’t have discord- it’d be more accessible to younger people as well.

hate the ultimate guide. heres a few reasons why.

reused art: I understand how hard it is to make art, especially at that calliber of detail. I'm an artist, I get it. but the charm of the original ultimate guide was that we had these hand painted, unique pieces of art of these characters, it showed a little personality too.

How stale and lifeless the art is: This is a complaint that I've had with the current western artist for years, the art is just... boring. the colors are pretty, yeah, like wow hyperrealistic cats. cool. but what else? can we see their personalities? what's the book gonna be like? the old covers had that charm, but not these ones. at all. (also is that even... i could not tell that was runningnose and littlecloud. i mean. runningnose has water in his snout, thats not what cat snot looks like but go off. he just looks a little soggy ig, not in a perpetual state of sick.)

Lack of Personality: this is a different complaint I promise. I dont like how the art seems to take away the personality of every character so theyre staring stoicly at the camera. some of these characters arent all that stoic. I never liked the firestar art in the last hope because I deadass thought it was mapleshade until someone told me it was firestar. firestar isnt this scary, stalky cat in the shadows. not to normal people at least. if i can mistake your main character as one of the villains in your cover art that isnt fucking good. I don't want to see these cats staring bug eyed at the camera, I want to be able to tell what they're like JUST from a glance at the art. Who is that- harestar?? why doesnt he look nervous?? he looks almost noble here, which is the opposite of who he's supposed to be, he's a wuss and a loser and i love him for it. like girl that is NOT mudclaw thats some random cat i saw at the shelter once, WHERES HIS ANGER? WHERES HIS FUCKING RAGE??? RISE RISE RISE RISE RISE RI

the Characters are hard to recognize, even with the title cards: Who are these cats. who. who the fuck are they. I can recognize a few cats, sure, but thats if I can pick out a defining trait. Squirrelflights tail, Scourges Collar, Ravenpaw's white chest, those are things that are explicitly told to us that these characters have, but everyone else??? WHO??? Like that was supposed to be leafstar?? HUH?? Wait that's supposed to be Oakheart? I cant even tell if hes red, its so YELLOW OUT I CANT FUCKING TEL WHO HE IS. Sagewhisker is described with yellow eyes, yet she has blue ones in the ultimate guide (i dont usually get pissy about eye color but not only are these cats supposed to be distinct from each other but i really like sagewhisker and i would die for her, yes i will gatekeep her from the artist fucking fight me), Bluestar is barely recognizable, i didnt know who half of these cats were before i read their nameplate. thats not a good thing.

Red mapleshade. Why she red. WHY SHE RED.

Leafpool. I didn't even know that was you at first but man they did you dirty.

sol. dude that is not sol no matter how much you stretch it- why is he a tabby?? hes supposed to be a tortie, why does he look like lionblaze?? and even then he doesnt look that lionlike, even though hollyleaf literally thought he was when she first saw him like what?? HUH???

mothwing. why she anger. also why she not fluffy

squirrelflight. i always hated her SE art but seeing the whole thing makes me angrier. like she isnt not accurate to canon or anything i just... hate it. i hate it withe very fibre of my being. ALSO WHERE IS HER PERSONALITY I WANT TO SEE HER BEING ENERGETIC NOT STARING 😐 AT THE CAMERA FUCKING HELL-

yeah, so im not gonna buy this book. i dont even want to know how they wrorte any of the female characters to make them somehow evil or how they somehow make a completely irridemable male character a sweet uwu baby. and everyone has talked about the ableism to death so im not going to beat this clearly still living horse, im just gonna let you find it yourself.

wcue clan rp "hosts"

these people are fucking insane there's no way around it. why do you feel the need to stick HOST in your name just so people respect you onto like my actual points. i hate how egotistical these people are. your character doesn't meet their standards? they will threaten to get the entire clan to ignore you in a PUBLIC SERVER and a PUBLIC ROLEPLAY... which is obviously reportable because they're trying to encourage mass voiding of a player or even harassment??? they enforce rules that can be overly strict at times such as You must be asleep at night or we will kick you out of the roleplay. like fuck man i guess insomnia isn't a real thing "realistic" "experienced/exp" or "traditional" clans are fucking stupid. WHAT DEFINES THESE ???? WHAT ACTUALLY FUCKING DEFINES THESE TERMS??!!!! and also they use this to bully people about their characters and kick them out, such as noncats, characters with "unrealistic" names or "unrealistic" fur colors they throw the biggest tantrums over small things like somebody sitting on or next to the rock when they can just.. ignore them. or a spectator apparently being too close to the clearing which they also can't moderate despite the fact they think they can i've also seen "hosts" try to limit the amount of people who can join the roleplay as well ???? fucking insane overall i think these people are delusional because why the fuck are you trying to control what other people do in a Public server and a Public roleplay

I keep seeing people on roblox roleplay games (specifically warrior cats ultimate edition) shortening pronouns to their first letter and i dont like them because

not very inclusive (how are you supposed to tell what neopronouns are from their first letter, also she/he and she/her will look the same etc etc)

can you imagine how much of a jumpscare it is to see "s/h" in someones warrior cats bio. every time i have to do a double take. why are you people like this. why is this a trend. stop it

Are there any alternative games to WCUE? I struggle a lot with rping without visual aid I can control or prompts so that game back in the day helped a lot, but I've also heard some awful stuff about the people who play nowadays as well as the devs just being dogshit and I'd like to know where I could find a better experience
