A Ballad of Websong Skyrim AU
What if Ulfric Stormcloak was a Neurodivergent man who grew up unable to understand why people hated people because they were different?
What if he grew up seeing how this hatred is tearing his country apart and dreamed of a Skyrim where all who take shelter in her borders can find succor, safe haven and freedom no matter race or creed?
What if fighting in the Great War only serves to strengthen his resolve to see that dream reality?
What if that neurodivergent pattern recognition allowed him to figure out who was really pulling the strings?
What if him trying to stop them was what got him captured and tortured?
What if they only thought they broke him?
What if instead he became a strong amd steady force of nature like that of a river cutting through mountains?
What if, when he got back, he used that to actually make his childhood dream real?
What if...he started to actually suceed?
But...what if, unbenownst to him, during his capture, a spell was cast on him to make him a sleeper agent for the Thalmor?
What if his torturer was sent out to activate him, causing the incident in Markarth and the death of The High King that ultimatelt undid all his work?
What if the original creator of that spell, who had a vested interest in seeing Skyrim thriving and free and knew Thalmor strategy and psuchology like the back of his hand, rescues him in Helgen in order to remove the spell from him?
What if that person is not only a famous bard and well known historian but also, an ex thalmor spymaster, the leader of the largest amd deadliest underground network in Tamriel and...in a frustrating twist of irony...is also the dragonborn?
And what if the two of them band together to save thier home but also maybe fall in love along the way?
This is the plot to an old fic of mine i plan on remastering in the name of new beginings.
