“Hancock is bad with kids” “Hancock is bad with Shaun” no, well, maybe, but where I was getting at was, the objectively funniest dynamic there that I can think of is that Hancock does, indeed, not know what to do around kids BUT Shaun is super curious because of that and will not leave him alone. Hancock will be looking at sole like “I can’t handle this, i don’t know what to do, get your kid” and Shaun is just like “why do you dress like that? Do you still get sunburnt? Do you like lazer rifles? I like lazer rifles.” Like a cat that sees the person ignoring them and goes up to them for attention. And the funniest response from sole is something like “the sunburn question is rude, Shaun” and then they continue doing whatever they were before saying that.

i just wanted to send an ask bc my brain is going back to sunny mode, so i want you to know that i’m not saying this lightly when i say that wishing well might be my favourite macdennis fanfic i’ve read. you’ve just encapsulated dennis so perfectly and despite the terrible things he’s done, i can’t help but sympathise, and even relate with his characterisation in ways. their dynamic is so perfectly written, and i literally almost screamed on a train ride when mac and dennis first kissed (and just all of chapter five in general). make sure to take your time with chapter seven, since i don’t want you to rush yourself, and i want you to create something to your satisfaction, but holy shit, i am going to be the most annoying person ever the day when a new chapter drops, since this fic has had my brain in an absolute chokehold since the first time i read it. ilysm and make sure to have a great day xx

#emma posts #sometimes him getting excited about new flavors for kitties is good #but other times his love of flavor exploration will lead him to eating a food he’s allergic to #and I can’t figure out what he’s reacting to right away because he just keeps eating the thing that makes his tummy hurt #at least I stop using things I realize cause allergic reactions #you’d think a little guy who doesn’t even know what allergies are would be even more off put by them #he’s so finicky about so many random things! but he loves new foods. especially more expensive ones. and that food was more expensive #this time he is getting a food for upset hairball tummies and has been enjoying it more than his old stuff too #I just hope that him traveling back and forth between his old food at my parents house and new food here causes problems #his old man tummy is getting more sensitive than it used to be and he’s getting a different food now… hopefully. and vitamins while he gets #these probiotics to hopefully make the change easier. I don’t want to jinx it but so far it seems to be really helpful #he hasn’t even gotten one hairball since starting the hairball food! and he loves his new vitamin treats #hopefully he’ll keep doing well with the old kitty vitamin treats #I want him to get his old man vitamins #even if he’s super healthy for his age. it’s good not to get worse! #i would know. as someone who dealt with not eating enough from medication side effects #I’m better now though! I switched meds and take more vitamins just in case #anyway. eating food is important for humans and kitties if you can get it it’s important! #and if your cat doesn’t get or absorb enough food they could get permanent damage to their bodies. never let your cat go more than three #days without food! try to make sure that they eat at least every 12 hours #they might not need as much food as you. but they can get a lot sicker a lot faster than humans usually do #I can ramble on and on about cat health though 😅 I just love my little guy so much #combo of better food formulated for hairballs and not giving him an allergic reaction with the probiotics too seems to be helping a lot #i knew cheap food wasn’t usually quite as good as the slightly more expensive stuff but holy shit. since moving out and now switching food #it’s been going so well for him! maybe I should ask my family to change the other cats food. I just hope that an extra 9$ a bag isn’t #off putting for them. i feel like fewer hairballs should be a great selling point

controversial opinions insomnia hours with isabel: i think the internet was way too harsh on andrew garfield for saying he watched drag race to prepare for angels in america, given that he was playing a character who used to do drag and has a particularly memorable scene that takes place in a liminal dreamspace anchored by his make-up mirror. like, it would be weird and probably homophobic to prepare for playing louis by watching drag race... but he was playing prior! having seen his performance, also, i didn't think it was perfect but i thought he was very good and more pertinently I did think it was very clear that insofar as he did infuse it with a degree of what i will call for a lack of a better word flamboyance, it was not because andrew garfield thinks this is what gay people are like, but a deliberate choice for this specific character (a former drag performer!!!) rooted in the idea that performance is itself a coping mechanism, something which is IMO integral to any reading of the famously language-heavy play (louis's monologues about america are his version of the same thing) and which was also a concept obviously (arguably too obviously, but i thought it worked) at the center of this production as a whole - once perestroika commenced and especially as it stretched into its endgame, garfield dropped the exaggeration, bit by bit, until at the epilogue he was speaking to the audience quite plainly, a performance arc that mirrored the way the realistic and textured period set of millennium approaches came apart and gave way to black box style minimalism across part two as the characters get closer to being stripped of their various illusions, and was echoed as well in the extraordinary work nathan lane did with roy cohn's weakening voice as illness took from him his power.

#other controversial opinion is that lee pace as joe pitt was... fine #he was good. he played the part well enough to serve the story #but it wasn't a performance that stayed with me #now. unfamous theater actor who played louis on the other hand.... i read all 205 chapters of demon slayer last night in one 11 hour sitting. it was pretty good! surprise! the anime people have been raving about for the past several years is actually good quality. who would have thunk it. anyway i wanted to search up some reviews of the anime to see what other ppl thought of it but then i remembered the youtube anime community, with a few notable exceptions, is allergic to media literacy

#demon slayer #tanjiro is a very good protag and really embodies the themes of the story #very fresh too kind of like emma tpn #hes got a phat ass and wining personality like all other shounen protags but unlike most he isnt just talk #like he actually goes the extra mile to purposely be kind and it justifies why ppl like him so much a lot better i think #i was unfair in comparing it to bnha when i didnt even watch it #bc unlike bnha the author has a clear direction and kept things concise to drive home the poin #every character and plot point had a purpose #at least it does now since i havent had much time to actually pick at it yet #but anyway its got the standard shounen sexism but i think it was a LOT better than like. bnha or naruto #the girls are few and far between and arent as deep as the boys mostly #but i liked the love hashiras examination of womanhood in the taisho era #and the depiction of sex workers is surprisingly respectful #also the romance subplots arent forced (cough izuocha cough) like maybe you get the sense the characters have crushes? #but like! there are demons eating people! who tf cares! “im glad kanao isn't dead” yeah tanjiro me too youre such a romantic #but yeah the romance between the love and serpent hashira was pretty nice if lowkey #and otherwise i like how the ending just indicates that they may begin to like each other and the epilogue indicates they eventually did #how did it happen? idk! what the fanfics come up with would be better than what the manga would have squeezed in! #also i love how inosuke wanted a homoerotic sasunaru-bakudeku rivalry with tanjiro but tanjiro was too nice #and for the pervert/coward type character zenitsu was fairly likeable as well #i was worried nezuko was just going to be a glorified macguffin for tanjiro but she at least DID have agency sometimes #though i think they should have explored how she felt about the demon thing more and also show her casually with tanjiro #bc it feels like they only show her doing stuff when its a big angsty battle but i want her and tanjiro to annoy each other a bit! #shut up pandora

I had the funniest dream last night that there was a new episode specifically for s2 of H2O. It was just a revamp of season 1 episode 10 the camera never lies but Rikki and Zane teamed up to film something underwater at Mako Island. Rikki was the camerawoman and Zane was the actor (as you do when mermaids are involved).

Filming went well, there were no sharks, and Zane had the money to buy a bunch of cool stuff for filming underwater including breathing tubes and air pumps to explain how the camerawoman could stay underwater for so long (the show just used their actual versions of them because I mean. They had them. At the very least they had them for the scene where Zane sinks in the Lorelei. I don't see why they wouldn't still use them for some s2 shots).

But when they finally got back and were watching the footage they were like oh shit. They can't show this because Cleo Emma and Lewis are going to realize what they did, and they're going to realize they're dating and that Zane knows about Rikki.

So it ended up becoming a hot potato game of passing the footage between each other until Nate got his hands on it and entered it into the competition for himself. So that gave Zane and Rikki a bit of an out because Zane could just say Nate was filming him, but Rikki is upset because she put a lot of work into the film and now she's not getting credit for it. Especially since last year essentially the same thing happened where she made a film and couldn't use or get credit for her work.

Zane ended up forfeiting the submission because of it and shrugs it off when Rikki is like why would you do that, you totally would have won again, it was leagues better than everyone else's. And Zane was like. Yeah. Exactly. You wouldn't have gotten the credit for it, and I don't want to win if it isn't with you.

So, totally unrelated note, I think I just came up with a new filler episode for my H2O fic.

#Cuz it IS an annual competition... I'm just saying... #The A plot being that Lewis has to work with either Charlotte or Cleo and Emma for the film this year #So it's Emma and Cleo vs Charlotte and Lewis #And while Charlotte is very artsy and Lewis has a history of winning... Charlotte can also be very bossy and controlling #So she tries to take full control of the project and tell Lewis what to do so he's basically just doing the work for her #And he has to sit her down and be like 'Charlotte. I teamed up with you because I wanted to work together. This isn't that.' #I love her but she can be very controlling. I know it because I can be that way too #So can Emma btw but the show doesn't treat Emma as terribly as it treats Charlotte 🤔🤔 it treats Emma as quirky and Charlotte as evil #Anyway I personally think Charlotte and Lewis winning the competition after they work out the issues in production would be really cute #Listen. Charlotte might spiral by the end of actual season 2. But I'm going to fix her. She's going to get a redemption arc. I'm not #Going to treat her like trash like the actual writers did solely because they needed an antagonist. It's not fair to her #H2O au #Cruddy rambles #This is going to be my replacement for Hocus Pocus because I consider Hocus Pocus to be non canon #I also think comparing Emma's actions in s1 vs her actions in s2 vs Charlotte's would be a good way to show the reader hey. Charlotte isnt #Actually a horrible terrible no good villain. She has flaws just like the other girls but she's also a decent person when they're not #Constantly being highlighted by the writers to make her out to be an irredeemable antagonist #Also every episode in H2O has to feature at least like 5 minutes of merm. Well I have that with the part I had a dream about so it's perfect #Tho I wouldn't be opposed to there being a bit in the middle where Lewis transforms and has to run off from Charlotte who freaks out #And that's what prompts their talk about her fully taking over the project and smothering all of Lewis's ideas/suggestions #It's very much a reflection of how she is when planning his birthday party but you know we are going to approach this less in the context of #'She's an irredeemable villain' and more in the context of ''she's a teenager with flaws'' #Because that is way more reasonable and hey... If it ends up having a butterfly effect on how she acts later on in the season... Well... ;)
