The public learned last fall of one particularly controversial element of United States Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s 10-year plan for the U.S. Postal Service that would be rolling out soon. Essentially, the function of sorting and delivering mail would be consolidated into regional centers, leaving empty former sorting space in the back of post offices. No layoffs were announced.

At first glance, this sounds innocuous, but seasoned postal observers suspect that with less activity happening at smaller or rural post offices, they become vulnerable to a reduction in hours or closure. This leads to the kind of job losses that initially present as don’t worry, we’ll relocate you to the regional center but are experienced by postal workers as if I don’t commute two hours there and back each day or more, I lose my job.

In response, The Save the Post Office Coalition, which I coordinate, wrote to the Secretary of the USPS Board of Governors to ensure the board was made aware of emails from 160,000 postal customers across the country urging them to stop the disastrous elements of DeJoy’s plan before it’s too late.

Among the several thousands of personalized messages, we highlighted a handful in our note:

“The USPS provides a service to the public. It was never intended to be a profit-making business. I’m disappointed & ashamed at where politics seem to be taking us.”

“As a former United States Postal Service employee and as someone who regularly uses the [USPS], I ask you to do something about DeJoy, who continues to degrade everything about the postal service — especially the service part of it.”

— Kristin F. in Cottonwood, Indiana.

“It is important for seniors like me to be able to count on a dependable means of getting medications without having a further drain on our resources.”

— Peter L. in Los Angeles, California.

“I believe that a well supported and functioning post office is a hallmark of a healthy, advanced nation. Stop DeJoy’s undemocratic plan now before it’s too late.”

— Janet M. in Downers Grove, Illinois.

“We senior citizens depend on USPS. Please help keep it viable.”

—Joanne L. in Akron, Ohio.

“Our postal service should be about serving us rather than serving businesses that give it money.”

We have yet to hear a response or acknowledgement that the messages from the public were received, and DeJoy continues to make it clear that he doesn’t want anyone asking questions about his 10-year plan.

On the same day that USPS leadership received our coalition’s messages, the Postal Regulatory Commission issued a public inquiry order to DeJoy asking that USPS provide details on the sorting and delivery changes under his plan. In the order, the Commission said it “notes that stakeholders have expressed concerns regarding a lack of a forum to explore the impacts of these proposed changes.”

DeJoy responded with an objection to the Commission’s inquiry. On May 17, DeJoy delivered congressional testimony for the first time in nearly two years at a hearing of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Government Operations. Rep. Summer Lee asked him why USPS is objecting. In his response, DeJoy was openly hostile toward the postal regulator, accusing them of actively participating “in the destruction of [USPS].”

Just last month, DeJoy sat down with the press for a 90-minute interview where he once again doubled down with an adversarial attitude toward postal regulators who seek details for the public on his 10-year plan, calling the Commission’s inquiry “nonsense,” saying, “We don’t need to be babysat.”

On May 22, DeJoy delivered the keynote address at the 2023 National Postal Forum where he spoke at length touting his efforts to implement “dramatic changes” and increase the pace of his 10-year plan. The postmaster general told the audience that “dramatic changes must be done at a pace, and with a tenacity that is rarely seen.” However, these changes are a mystery to many, and for a public institution, this mystery is dangerous.

If the past is any guide, the effects of potential post office closings and reduced hours will be devastating, particularly to rural and Indigenous communities. The Save the Post Office Coalition organized a petition to the Postal Regulatory Commission and the USPS Office of Inspector General urging them to stop DeJoy’s “dramatic changes” and demand public input, and so far has received over 131,000 signatures from the public who regularly use the postal service.

The bottom line is that the public has a right to more transparency and input in the decision-making process at a public institution. This requires engagement with said public — which DeJoy is actively resisting. When you put a rich, white, private-sector executive who isn’t used to public accountability and cooperation in charge of a treasured public institution, such a clash might be inevitable. It’s plain DeJoy doesn’t have the temperament for public service.

Communities across the nation want dramatic change at the post office too, but that dramatic change is not to be secretive or a surprise; it must be a shift toward protecting and expanding the public footprint and services available at the post office to meet new needs and change with the times. The People’s Postal Agenda outlines a framework for an expanded USPS that includes things like postal banking, expanded nonbank financial services like bill payment and ATMs, WiFi in parking lots, and public electric vehicle charging.

We still remember former President Donald Trump’s plan to privatize the post office, right before he put his thumb on the scale to have his donor DeJoy appointed as postmaster general. We also remember DeJoy’s role in sowing public fear and uncertainty in the vote-by-mail process by slowing down the mail and then sending out mailers to voters that meeting their state’s deadline would not ensure their vote would arrive in time to be counted, causing him to be sued by the NAACP and Public Citizen, as well as secretaries of state.

There is nothing to suggest that DeJoy has abandoned the privatization vision of the people who got him the job. So it’s our job as citizens to make absolutely sure any upcoming “dramatic changes” to the post office don’t shrink and privatize the institution but protect and expand it for generations to come.

What exactly is feminine and masculine energy acc to u and is it something simply inherent to the person? and not really a set of behaviors that are learned (and then fall in either of these labels)?

I do believe that "feminine" and "masculine" energies are a thing and are inherently presented in people to a polarizing degree, they are not related to biological sex and represent a specific way people approach the world in. Feminine energy is the energy of creation from within (internal regulation) and masculine energy is the energy of creation from outside of oneself (the material plane). I call them "yin" and "yang" to make more sense of these terms because, like I mentioned, they have little to do with biological sex or gendered presentation.

What I mean by these energies being represented to a "polarizing degree" is that different people will be born as and "specialize" in one or the other energy, as in, some people will be more "in their head" and introspective, favoring things like psychology and arts, and some people will be more business-oriented and enjoy material goods and physical labor, or, to directly influence the outside world. Despite the common idea that "feminine energy" is some kind of inaction, being and embodying it is not about "not doing anything" — on the contrary, it is about doing quite a bit, the process is just not visible to the naked eye and only gets externalized at certain points in time, like when I sit down to write down my findings after weeks of internal labor. It is true that embodying feminine energy attracts and provides you with the things you desire and I genuinely cannot elaborate more on this because, in my opinion, it is something you have to experience for yourself to fully believe in it being a thing because that is the only foolproof way to dissolve skepticism when it comes to metaphysics.

In regards to my latest post on energies and receptivity... Knowing that feminine energy attracts the desired outcome when a person is simply being themselves, women insisting that the main way to actualize it is by initiating near-transactional contact with men would seem counterintuitive seeing that the principle itself allows for a state of no-contact, like being engrossed in your hobbies, and the truth is that there is no contradiction between LOA's principles and heterosexual dynamics being the way that they are. I generally encourage people to look at the lifestyles of those who have a good grasp on LOA to understand that these people's market-like attitude towards relationships and the universe is not contradictory, like with rich women showing off their bodies to intimidate their rivals and keep "options" coming well into their marriage, that is the kind of lifestyle they wish to live for personal reasons and women consistently finding themselves in materialistic, superficial relationships points at just that. Women are in general rarely aware of the fact that they love the drama of hypergamy and that a lot of the time they take on a "masculinized", cutthroat approach to relationships because they like competition and the feeling of being the exceptional collectible item they have built themselves up to be, especially if it involves a man with an extensive dating history which in turn validates their "price tag" to themselves. In other words, women subconsciously manifest being in their masculine when it comes to actualizing their femininity and they fail to recognize that they have shifted the paradigm because they appear feminine both to the world and themselves, meaning that their advice is useless to those who wish to actualize theirs without turning it into a marketing strategy. This competitive mindset inherently puts the individual in a high-pressure environment and disconnects them from their empathetic side at the cost of improving their marketing capabilities, and a lot of the time women, in acknowledging that women's rejection of femininity oftentimes stems from trauma, act as if said traumatized women are completely unreasonable for continuing to live that way and pressure them into believing that their only way to actualize their potential is through interacting with those they know to be a danger to themselves. Dressing up and going on a date so that the man you are with gains status from being in your company is a masculine act because it is an externalized, premeditated exchange, which is why many "divine feminine" coaches can come across as competitive, abrasive and in general appear as if something is "off" about them — they are businesswomen operating in their masculine and cultivating a feminine appearance is their part of that business exchange.

It always seems pretty pointless to me to be calling people out without proposing an alternative solution, otherwise I would be admitting that I am powerless to change anything and am complaining for the sake of it, but, from my experience, feminine energy has little to do with men to begin with and is, rather, the imaginative component of LOA. The metaphysical principle behind attracting your desires is that the universe responds to your vibration when you think about and visualize things, with said vibration being elevated through cultivating peace inside and around yourself, and that you get rewarded more and more profoundly the higher your vibration is, but the more believable way to view this phenomenon is that embodying feminine energy is about being in tune with your intuition and not second-guessing yourself when opportunities come your way. This comes down to knowing who and what you are, what and what does not serve you and which opportunities will benefit you if you are to pursue the elevation your own well-being — and if this sounds like an easy task that could not possibly bring that much prosperity, I want to ask anyone who is reading this just how often they doubt themselves because I know that I rarely do.

I believe that I have attracted numerous things by simply curating my blog, and by "attracted" I mean "was handed in for no apparent reason in circumstances unrelated to my blog"; me sharing my writing is the "embodying" part of "being and not doing", that is, my blog is me being myself because a person who figures out how to improve people's and their own mental well-being and recites their findings in an accessible format is what I am. It is a stark contrast between seeking out public spaces or navigating the dating scene, which I personally do not appreciate because that is how you come in contact with too many unsavory people; and I do believe in attracting a partner energetically more so than direct effort in case anyone is wondering... The universe will always reward you when you are a "feminine energy" doing your "feminine energy" thing and there is no need to debase yourself by entering the heterosexual rat race for a chance at a sponsorship if it goes against your convictions, especially given the fact that you would have to be in your masculine for quite a while to achieve that. Again, cultivating feminine mannerisms and appearance for the sake of receiving goods from a man is a masculine act because it is an externalized business partnership.

Another misconception heterosexuals like to promote to validate their sadomasochistic dynamics is that men are the only sex capable of sensibility and leadership because they are supposedly not as emotional and that "logic" equals "reason" when that is far from being the case. Masculine energy being the "logical" one means is that it is predisposed to operating in the material world as opposed to internally, and while it is beneficial for actually tackling material matters, it is a mistake to assume that the only sensible decisions to be made are the ones that are void of emotion because reason is made up of both intuition and logic. For example, a person could take their surroundings into account and discern that being racist in certain circles will give them money and status (logic), but if they are not in tune with their emotions and are not aware of their sympathetic nature (intuition), they will suffer for this decision long-term and the distress experienced will cancel out any material benefit gained. This alone should give you a decent understanding of why neither thinking pattern is better than the other and that people being attuned to their emotions says nothing about their decision-making capabilities.

All of the above can sound a bit controversial because it goes against the common conception of what "feminine" and "masculine" energies are, and it can be intimidating to entertain the idea that you could in fact not need anyone but yourself because it is quite easy for society to convince men and women that they "need" each other without taking additional factors into account, like most people being sexually abusive, egotistical scum that only ever concerns itself with materialistic power struggles and drama and that relationships as of right now present a high risk of traumatization when entered, making self-reliance a very valid choice. The good news is that you do not have to listen to me and can always turn to the people who talk about the complete opposite of what is being said here to see if their advice works for you.

To conclude, you do not "need" a masculine partner if you are feminine and you do not "need" a feminine partner if you are masculine, and anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is a predator because they are attempting to manipulate your boundaries by forcing you to operate from a state of lack. Feminine and masculine energies are certainly complimentary, it is why both of them are represented in all people, even if to a different degree, and an individual's goal should genuinely be mastering both of them for their greater good instead of despairing over the idea that they are ought to be dependent on someone else for the rest of their life. While cooperation is important, I am less interested in promoting codependency and more in willing consent into existence.... It is possible to cultivate a balance between these two energies to harmoniously exist by yourself as a person if that is what you want out of life.

Crony Capitalism? You mean... just Capitalism?

Like, two weeks ago one of my posts about communism made its way into liberterian, pro-capitalist circles on this platform. (Admittedly, I am surprised those circles exist here, but... Welp, I guess?) Now, I know better than to interact with them directly, given that they are so clearly brainwashed by the system.

But I really just need to talk about this one thing that they keep bringing up: "The problem is not capitalism, it is Crony Capitalism!!!" Which has me sitting there, giving this slow confused blink: "You mean... Just capitalism?"

In those libertarian circles, there are those two ideas that keep coming up again and again.

"Oh, the issue is not capitalism. The issue is the crony capitalism we live under."

"Actually, capitalism does not work because of the regulations! It would work great without it!"

And with both arguments I do wonder, how far removed someone can get from reality.

Now, let's talk about the first argument. "Crony Capitalism". This is the basic idea that capitalism get corrupted due to the big coorporations/big money interacting with the government in a mutually corrupting way. The issue they say is, that in fact this interaction gives certain companies an advantage, because they influence politics and hence hold more power than their competitors. It is discribed as a "collusion between the political class and the business class". The idea is, that because this is happening, the market is no longer "free", hence capitalism got corrupted by this collusion.

The irony obviously is, that my communist ass will readily agree with you that capitalism and politics interacting is an issue... but I land very much on the side of Noam Chomsky here, saying: Capitalism is always crony.

Under capitalism money always equals power. And this power interminglign with whatever governing body you have is just natural. Because the goal under capitalism is for those, who have money, to make more money. And capitalism says, you can do that by any means necessary. Including corruption.

If you really believe this is not the natural state of capitalism, try to think what would need to happen to prevent it. Because the basic issue will always remain. Sure, we could legislate the hell out of it. Not allow any politicial donations by big companies. Not allow politicians to take a position in the economy after ending their terms. Heck, those are political ideals, that any communist will agree with you on.

But... the big companies will always hold power over the government. Because so many jobs and so many tax dollars are bound to them. And they will just always hold more power than Uncle Mario with his little company.

Yes, regulating the things above might make it better - but it will not make the problem go away. (And, of course, neither big capital, nor the politicians have any interest to regulate the system.)

Crony Capitalism... Is just what happens, when you have capitalism. Because money will always be power.

The other idea is the AnCap idea. (Once again: Anarcho Capitalism is an oxymoron, because anarchism aims for the destruction of hierarchies, while capitalism aims to build more hierarchies.) "Actually, capitalism would work great without any government interference and rules!" Only that it would not.

The thing that AnCaps do not want to acknowledge is, that workers and just normal people have fought tooth and nail for any of those regulations put on capitalism. Rules against monopolies? Had to be fought for. Rules against trusts? Yeah, were fought for. Rules against slavery? You know it. Rules against child labor? Yes, exactly. Fought for. Rules for allowing people a weekend and somewhat humane working hours? People had to fight for it. Rules for the companies to protect the environment? Absolutely something fought for by activists.

If you would just remove all regulations from the market... I give it five years until the market is ruled by a handful of Monopolies or Duopolies. Disney is gonna own entertainment. Google or Meta is gonna own the online world. Given they rule that, they will set the rules for the workforce. You wanna work in this area? Well, have fun doing now legal 80 hour weeks. And sure we are gonna employ your 12yo kid. Duh. Little Martin's little fingers will be good for something.

And the environment? Yeah, just put that raw sewage into that river. Who fucking cares?

Hey, actually. Why pay workers actual money? Why not just pay them Mouse-Dollars in Disney, so they have to spend all their money within Disney. Wouldn't that be better for everyone? And let them live in the company village... Those guards keeping you in? Oh, they are... Uhm. For your own protection!

And why do we know, that it will go like that? Because we have already seen it happening. There already was a pretty unregulated capitalism going about 150 years ago. And it did not go well.

The entire endgoal of capitalism is to exploit the worker (and the environment) as much as possible, so that a few can live in unimaginable wealth. And it will do that by any means necessary, not caring about the negative influence it might have on anyone in the future.

I believe there is a problem that affects the entire world that we are failing to acknowledge and address; a problem by which mankind has screwed itself. And I realize also that the excision of this problem is going to be very painful and very difficult.

But it is the stock market. The existence of a parasite caste that not only survives but grows fat by feeding on the working class.

And if you don't know about this problem I'll do my best to explain.

It started when people had the idea of selling shares of a potential business idea they had in order to have capital to begin the business.. If the business did well then the people with the shares could trade them back in for that percentage out of the value of the business. Which sounds fine, right?

Where we got into trouble was the practice of trading shares on a marketplace, which meant that startups had to compete with each other directly to get people to invest in them. They had to offer the best return. And it was no longer about people liking the ideas and investing because they wanted to see that thing brought into the world - it became about profit and nothing else.

The other major ingredient in this fuckup salad was that companies would sell as many shares as they could to amass capital. Then spend that to make themselves look more successful and drive up demand.

The issue with that is that the shares in the hands of the shareholders end up being worth more than the typical large company has in available liquid assets. In short, if the shareholders were to start cashing in, the company wouldn't be able to afford to pay them and would go out of business.

And since the shareholders have gotten used to living off of the growth of the company shares, if that growth stops, they will indeed cash out and find another new startup to invest in. So the company promises growth, and has to find ways to increase profit every year. Which is very difficult once they've expanded to fill their market. Once there's no more room for natural growth, they have to start finding other ways to increase profits.

They'll look for cheaper means of production, offer less for the same price, start firing employees, cutting corners on safety regulations... They wind up trimming their own fat to feed the parasites.

And they've dug in so deep, their heads are buried so completely in the thick skin of the world's economy, that I don't know how to extract it.

Beast Wars: Season 2, Ep. 10: Transmutate

(SPOILERS: This post contains spoilers for “Transmutate”. If you haven’t seen this episode, I encourage you to watch it. It’s a very good, if not sad, episode.)

I was gonna make an entire paragraph, waxing poetic about this show and the wonders of childhood, but I’m in a bad mood, so y’all’re gonna have to settle for some old-fashioned nerd rage.

As a member of the Transformers fandom, there’s never really been a time where I’ve gotten upset with them. They’re usually a good bunch of grapes in the vineyard of awfulness called life. However, there’s something that’s come up fairly recently. Something that seems to sour my overall mood whenever I come across it. That, my dear Sparklings, is discourse. I’m not talking about ship wars (Lord knows that’s an insurmountable beast to conquer.). I’m talking about a particular episode of Beast Wars. If you’ve read the title of this post, then you know where this is about to go.

Beast Wars season 2, episode 10: “Transmutate” is an episode that involves the Maximals and Predicons getting their hands on the newest stasis pod that had been revealed in an earthquake. Silverbolt, Optimus, Inferno, and Rampage approach at the same time. As it turns out, the stasis pod’s data is corrupted, which then gives rise to a being that looks similar to a prototype of a robot. Rampage takes this being and assesses it, giving it the label of “transmutant”. The being then gives itself a name: “Transmutate”.

During the entirety of the episode, we learn that Transmutate has this powerful, sonic weapon at their disposal. Rhinox suggests that the Maximals put Transmutate into stasis until they can get back to Cybertron. However, as the protoform roams the halls of the Axilon, they get a signal from Rampage that beckons them to leave the ship. Not knowing any better, Transmutate flies through the ship’s hull, setting off the alarms. So, Silverbolt and Optimus give chase.

Silverbolt catches up with Transmutate and tries to fight Rampage. The two warring bots fall from a cliff, heavily damaged from battle. They fire missiles at one another. In that moment, Transmutate leaps down, summoning a forcefeild. However, it isn’t strong enough. Transmutate dies from severe damage, but not before acknowledging their friends.

So, I bet you’re all wondering how this episode is considered ableist by some fans. And honestly? I’m wondering that too. The posts I’ve read on this hellsite claim that Transmutate is disabled coded, but I don’t see it. If anything, Transmutate is child coded. They don’t speak much and if they do, it’s usually one to three words. They don’t understand the consequences of their actions because they lack the critical thinking skills required. They’re super trusting and they have issues with emotional regulation. Which, to me, means that they’re a baby.

After watching the episode on YouTube --as you do--, I took a look at the comments to see what the consensus is, and sure the fuck enough, someone was trying to pull the “what would they think?” card. And this is why I’m a little testy tonight. See, I’m of the belief that questions like this belittle folks like me. What did I think of a child character dying a violent, horrible death on screen? I didn’t think because I was too busy crying my eyes out in pure sadness. (I mean my god. Poor Transmutate.) The fact that someone would even dare to assume that it negatively effects how disabled people see themselves is astonishing. How dare they assume that disabled people would be affected by something some Joe Schmoe on the internet read too much into. It’s way too frustrating. I mean, as someone who was actually born with Muscular Dystrophy, I have enough people trying to speak for me. I don’t need some stranger pulling that shit online.
