I’m curious, what do you think of the islands miniseries ? Any episodes u particulars like or really anything ab it ? I just started the islands miniseries for my daily art thingie and I want to hear ur thoughts about islands !!
I liked islands but i think i was a little disappointed because i almost expected a bit more out of it
I really liked the Susan plot line of it all. It was really interesting and i was invested in the way the humans had set up their society where everyone had set up jobs and they got i formation beamed straight into their brains. Also the fact that people trying to leave was legitimately such a problem they had an entire job that as designated Just to stopping people from trying to leave. But yeah i was really invested in Susan and her friend and what happened with them. Oh and also the reveal that Susan was sent away to look for finn was Wack i had to pause that bit to process it a little.
The stuff with Finn’s mum was alright ig. I was invested in it from Finn’s perspective and the impact it all had on him but i do not care for his mum as a character at all, honestly i kinda just forget she exists. Same goes for most of the other humans outside of like. Susan and her friend and Finn and stuff
Also, are the island humans the descendants of the humans Marceline saved and helped build that ship? Because thats what i got from that but im not sure
Oh yeah and the whole VR world thing with bmo was cool i liked that and the implications of all those humans just Being there and they’re being kept alive by the robots and stuff i could probably write a whole post on that island but im tried rn but i thought it was really cool

Of all the things that had happened in your life, you were never a lucky person. Finding things - being the ultimate seeker - that was just your quirk.
When a Pro-Hero came to you to offer his help, you never imagined it would be him, but apparently this case, and your quirks lacking effectiveness in solving it, interested him enough to offer you a position to transfer from your station to his agency.
From now on, you’d be working under Pro-Hero Hawks.
What a joy.
By happenstance, one of your old friends from way back when - even if it wasn’t so long ago - worked at his agency too. She was nice enough to meet you out the front of the building.
“Hey hey, stranger!” she said, bounding over to you as soon as you caught her eye with a smile.
“Long time no-see, Kana,” you looked her up and down, noting her hero costume, “Or should I call you ‘Mirabilia’ while you’re wearing that jumpsuit?”
She slung an arm over your shoulder, the cool of her clear diamond skin contrasting greatly with yours, and clicked her tongue as she led you through the revolving doors.
“I sure don’t care, but Mr. Boss Bird Man likes the codename stuff so.” she said, walking you to the receptionist's desk to grab your pass, “And it seems he’s wanting to take you out on hero work too. Has got a uniform ready and waiting for you in your new office.” She booped your nose, swiping up the card and placing it in the box off supplies you were carrying.
“I don’t do hero work.”
“I know that.” Kana laughed, taking you further into the building to wait for an elevator, “But Hawks is one very stubborn boss. You’re gonna have to kick and scream your way outta it.”
___________
By the time you’d unpacked your box and clipped on your new pass, Hawks was nowhere in sight, and you’d dumped the garment bag in the almost non-existent closest in hopes that he wouldn’t know where it went.
From what you could tell, your work was exactly the same as before - finding the kidnapper - but at the more central location, and with more heroes and less police officers. Honestly? You were looking forward to it.
“Looks like you’re the newest recruit, huh?” Turning and placing your papers down, you saw the one and only Hawks leaning on your doorway.
“If you want to call it that.” You said, smiling over at him. “You’re Hawks right?”
“The one and only.” he said, bowing his head. His movement gave way to a better look at the collection of feathers at his back. Your eyes widened.
“Oh wow, your wings are really red huh?” He was about to answer when you slapped a hand over your mouth. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean - I-I was just, um, I -”
“Don’t worry Chickie,” he laughed, “I get asked stuff about my wings all the time. I’ve got no problem with it, pinkie promise.” His assurance definitely calmed you. You’d hate to have insulted your boss on your first day.
“You wanna touch them?” He winked, giving you an almost too-slurty look.
You had a feeling it was best to say no.
__________
The rest of the day went by as usual as you could hope.
You mulled over papers, reports, articles online and offline. You checked the news for any new sightings. You used your quirk and tried to reach out to find anyone the person had taken. All came up null - as normal.
And you hated it.
Kana came and accompanied you out the building - now off-duty and changed into something a little more comfortable looking - before you both parted ways.
You snuck into the take away shop below your next to your apartment building, and the owner greeted you as soon as you entered. It was a slow night here, as Tuesdays usually were.
The tv above the drinks fridge flashed a ‘breaking news’ banner. A pang struck your heart, and your brows furrowed.
He struck again.

The defective middle man
Author: Dirtylittlemuses Gift for: @addie-scribbles prompt: Wammy’s throws a Christmas party, and the kids start playing cheesy middle school games like spin the bottle and seven minutes in heaven and Near thinks it’s all stupid at first until he realizes he has the chance to kiss Mello. So the whole time he’s trying so hard to get a kiss from Mello but things keep going wrong. He does get a kiss from him at the end though, somehow. Authors notes: This was hard for me, because I’m used to writing serious stuff~ But I hope it’s okay anyway. The prompt made me think of Near and Mello wanting to kiss each other, both to shy to do anything about it and Matt keeps getting in the way though he’s only trying to help, so here it is
The once grey and white central common area of Whammy’s had been transformed into a less grey and less white version of itself for the holidays. It was far from a winter wonderland, the round tables decorated with cheap red and green table cloths, long tables adorned with a dreadful spread of store bought cookies and Styrofoam cups with hot chocolate made from water, and a tacky banner welcoming them into the area with a ‘happy holidays!’— Still, it was more than most of the kids would get if they weren’t at Whammy’s. Though attendance to the party wasn’t mandatory, almost all the kids went. It was a special treat after back breaking weeks of finals, even if was kinda of lame.
Near preferred to spend time alone, almost always found in the library or in his room but he always made an exception for the holiday party. Partly because they brought out darts every year, partly because it was the only time he could get Weihnachtsplätzchen (A type of German Christmas cookie Near remembered from his childhood) but mostly because he felt bad for Roger who at least tried to do something special for the orphans. But after almost an hour of sitting alone and listening to the cheesy Christmas music, he was considering turning in early.
Before he had a chance to escape, Near was approached by his classmate and sometimes-kind-of-maybe-friend Matt. The white haired boy had been loading up a plate with as many of the German spice cookies as he could (which was quite a lot, due to all the stacking he did) when Matt draped himself over the table in front of him. The redhead was almost Near’s perfect opposite— fun loving, devious, and outgoing. His best friend Mello shared those same qualities, with one important distinction; Matt didn’t hate Near with a burning passion. Mello’s intense and deep-rooted hatred was most unfortunate for the sheep-resemblant boy, who had a capricious crush on ill tempered blond.
“Enjoying yourself?” Matt asked, the shit-eating grin on his face making it clear he was poking fun at Near. He knew exactly how antisocial he was.
“Not particularly,” Near answered back coolly, placing yet another cookie on his pile.
“Want to get out of here then? Me and Mells are throwing a more underground party in the study room upstairs.” To Near, the proposed party sounded almost more unpleasant than the one they were currently at, and his mind already began formulating a polite excuse for not attending. Matt, almost like he could sense the smaller’s plan, cut in,“Come on, it’ll be fun. We’re gonna play all those cheesy, ‘normal kid’ games. Like spin the bottle or whatever.”
The new information made Near pause and reconsider. Spin the bottle. Near had never kissed anyone before, and judging by his lack of friends, he was seriously beginning to doubt if he ever would. So naturally the prospect of having his first kiss was exciting, but even more enticing was the small chance that his first kiss could be Mello. Furrowed white eyebrows gave the usually unreadable face away. Near was conflicted. The last thing he wanted to do was go to yet another party, but the idea of hanging out with Mello and maybe even kissing him was too rare a chance to give up.
Trying not to seem too eager Near muttered with all the nonchalance he could muster, “Alright, yeah, I’ll go.”
The study room on the second floor was empty as usual, lit by dim fluorescent lights and soft-glowing lamps. Despite the effort Roger had put into decorating, Near much preferred this setting. Plus the blaring, over-sung Christmas songs had been traded out for soft rock and indie, which gave the room a gentle vibe that made Near feel a little more at ease. There was already several students there, including Mello, who had traded his usual skimpy leather top for a thick black turtleneck which made his fair hair and icy eyes stand out. Seeing him didn’t help Near’s rising anxiety, his heart thumping faster in nervous anticipation.
Matt, who’d walked up with Near, joined Mello and whispered something in his ear. Near dropped his eyes, feeling awkward when both pairs of eyes fell on him. Even though he was trying not to look he couldn’t help but notice the angry expression that took over Mello’s face and the way he took Matt’s arm, whispering angrily back. He thought about bailing then and there, feeling humiliated at his own naivete. Of course Mello didn’t want him there, let alone to kiss him. Before he could make it to the door, however, Matt interrupted once more.
The apparent host explained they were first playing Seven Minutes in Heaven and that they’d already wrote down half the group’s names and put them into a hat. “For those of you here who might be less adept in party games; the rules are simple. Half of you draw out a name and then has to spend seven minutes alone in a closet with said person. What you do in there is up to you, and between the two of you alone.” Matt looked like a magician up there, explaining the rules with devious flourish, as if he was about to play a great trick on everyone. Then, Near swore Matt’s eyes met his before closing one in a wink.
Now sitting in a uniform circle, Near had a chance to observe the crowd better. There were 15 kids, including himself, and he recognized them all as Matt’s diverse group of friends. Matt and Near were part of the pickees while Mello sat of the opposite side as one of the kids who would be drawing a name. Due to the odd number of people at the party, whoever’s name wasn’t drawn would be the timer. One by one the choosing side passed the hat, choosing a name and reading it aloud. By the time it got to the end of the line, Mello was the last to draw and the only two names left were himself and Matt. It was a miraculous coincidence. Or was it? Casting a side glance to Matt, the white haired boy noted his signature smirk was slightly wider and he was staring straight at Mello.
Dropping his eyes from Matt, Near’s gaze once again found Mello who looked nervous as he waved his hand around in the hat. The younger couldn’t watch, afraid his warm cheeks would give away how excited he was.
“Matt.” Near’s eyes snapped up in surprise, and disappointment. Had Matt really rigged it so they would end up together? Was this a secret battle of who wanted to kiss Mello more? The annoyed looks on the other kid’s faces revealed they didn’t buy into these results either, but no one spoke up.
“Come on Near.” Near’s grey eyes searched the room for the speaker, though he could pick the voice out of a sea of people. He just didn’t believe it. Mello? Matt was already at his side,  smirking as the blonde frowned. Typical. “Here.” A silver glint of metal came flying towards him and fell at his feet before his hands could react. The laugh from Mello that followed left Near with a sick feeling in his stomach. He reached down hastily to pick up the object that was thrown to him. A stop watch. Oh yeah, he was the timer.
Each of the pairs shuffled to the closet, one at a time for seven minutes, Near stopping them perfectly on the seventh minute each time. Now that he was actually doing it, Near felt better with being the timer and closet guard. It gave him time to cool down away from everyone, and it gave him an opportunity to eavesdrop. He didn’t particularly care who was kissing who (though he did make notes of it), but he was interested in what Matt and Mello were going to do in their allotted time. He had no doubt Matt would make the best of it.
However, when they entered the closet all the Near could make out was the sounds of hushed whispering. They were too quiet to hear in full,  but he did make out small bits and pieces.
MATT: I’m sorry
MELLO: –Screwed it up
MATT: I tried!
MATT: —want it that bad?
By the time the seven minutes were up and Near opened the door abruptly (as he was instructed to do) they both looked dissatisfied. And in spite of himself, Near was actually kind of glad.
After everyone had their turn in the closet, except Near of course, Matt introduced the next game. It was Hide and Go Get and it was basically Hide and Seek, only when you were found the seeker had to kiss you. Once you’d been found you would join the seekers on the quest of finding the rest. The last hider and the person who’d kissed the most others would win.
This was a challenging game for Near, whose small stature allowed him to be excellent at hiding, something that wasn’t  good if he wanted to be found and kissed by Mello. He was also very prideful and couldn’t stand the thought of losing on purpose. Yet when Mello was named as the first seeker, Near found himself squeezing between an outdated radiator and the wall, an almost painfully obvious spot.
Tucking his legs to his chest, Near rested his chin on his knees. He knew the chances of Mello actually being the one to find him were little, but at least he was actually playing this time, right?
In the space, time seemed to tick by excruciatingly slow.  There as a few times where he’d thought he’d been found, catching several glimpses of Matt’s black converse criss-crossing right in front of him. Maybe he didn’t see him? No, he’d have to be blind not to see him. Then what? Did he not want to kiss him?
Whatever, Near thought gruffly, it wasn’t like he wanted to be kissed by Matt either.
Several minutes later, Near caught a another glimpse of shoes. Not the black boots he wanted to see though, no these were bright pink flats. The only one at the party that was wearing pink was…Linda?
“Found you Near!” She cheered out, bending down beside the radiator, ready to claim her kiss. “I almost didn’t check here because Matt already did. I can’t believe he didn’t see you. Actually, I think I saw him on his way back and Mello was with him.” For a moment her eyebrows furrowed together, looking as confused as he felt. “I won’t make you kiss him.”
“Wait! Linda!” Near cried out, desperate to stop her. He didn’t understand why Matt was bringing Mello to him, but it seemed like he was close to finally getting his kiss.
“Don’t worry, I know you aren’t into girls.” She answered before Near could even properly protest, leaning forward to kiss his cheek.
As luck would have it, Matt and Mello turned the corner into the hallway just as she was pulling away. The four looked at each other, Linda looking pleased, Matt looking disappointed, Mello looking pissed and…Near looked indifferent, though inside he felt more discouraged than ever. Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.
In the end, Linda won the most kisses and the best hider turned out to be a kid named Luke who Near had never talked to before.
The group was meant to rendezvous in the study room for the next game, but when the group had made it, they found the room wasn’t empty. Roger was standing in the middle of the room, looking less than amused. Enough kids had ended up leaving the real Christmas party for Matt and Mello’s, and prancing around the halls didn’t help them go unnoticed.
The white haired man looked aggravated, instructing the kids to go to their rooms. Everyone complied quietly, dispersing into the halls. Walking back to his room, Near couldn’t help but wonder if Roger was angry because they’d broken the rules, or ditched his party.
Near was fine with turning in at the point anyway, as it’d been made exceedingly clear that he wasn’t getting a kiss from Mello tonight. Only he wasn’t the first to reach his door. Standing outside it was Matt, leaning again the wood, smiling as if they hadn’t just been busted.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in your room?” Near asked.
“We never got to finish our party,” Matt explained, still standing in place so Near couldn’t enter his room. “We’re moving it to our room. You’ve got to come.”
Near sighed, not really in the mood anymore. “I don’t really feel like it.”
“I’m not taking no for an answer! We’re just gonna play spin the bottle and then you can go to bed.” Matt’s persistence was shocking to Near, and he didn’t understand why it was so important that he come.
Still he refused, “Matt… I really don’t want–” Strong fingers linked around his wrist, cutting him off.
“I said I’m not taking no for an answer!”
By the time the pair had reached the shared room, Mello and Linda were already there, sitting on the floor with a glass coke bottle between them. “All here,” Matt reported, much to Near’s surprise.
“This is it?” Near asked, cautiously taking a seat.
“All we could convince to come back here,” Matt quickly cut in, though Mello looked like he was going to answer. “We just really wanted to play spin the bottle.” Mello nodded along eagerly at that.
Near was about to protest, to tell them that this was a stupid idea, which was a perfect precursor for storming out; It was beginning to feel like they were trying to mess with him but before he could, Mello interjected, “Near’s first!”
All the eyes in the room bore into him until Near reached forward and flicked the bottle apathetically. The glass spun and spun until it finally stopped…on Matt.
At that point in the night, he didn’t expect it to end any other way. Matt shrugged and leaned forward on all fours, crawling across the small circle toward him, hand knocking into the glass bottle as he did. Near squeezed his eyes shut, leaning forward in preparation but their lips never met.
“Wait a minute, I think this bottle is pointing more towards Mello.”
Near’s gray eyes flashed open and to the bottle. He was right, the bottle was pointed to Mello. But wait, Matt had did that. Matt wanted them to kiss? The pieces started to click together in Near’s head. Matt rigging the seven minutes in heaven game, Matt purposely not finding Near in hide and go get, but instead going to get Mello so he could find him, insisting Near come to spin the bottle. But why? Did Matt know about his little crush?
Near stared dumbfounded at Matt, who wasn’t smirking back at him, but at Mello. Wait, did Mello want this? Did Mello like hi–
Before the thought could been processed, Mello’s burning red face floated into view. Near didn’t have time prepare, their lips meeting before he could even close his eyes.
And it was perfect.

Hide-and-Seek In the Woods
We all know that there are ups and downs in heading out for a camping trip. Despite all the negative aspects of being out in the outdoors I tend to focus more on all the positive things. I just love being surrounded by the millions of trees and animals. Especially when there are very little to no human interaction.
We had decided to sleep over at Carter's place in order to make getting on the road tomorrow early morning much simpler. Especially since one of guys that drove us to our destination wasn't too keen on picking up everyone at their respective homes. Something along the lines of, "I don't want to get up at a indecent hour," and "having to find space for every single one of your guy's crap along, is not something I wanna do." He's not a morning person, which I can totally relate to. Since I myself, can be cranky in the early hours. Hence how someone lost an eyebrow for interrupting my sleep - that's a story for another time.
Let me tell you that the day of the trip, wasn't spectacular like I had hoped it'd be. Everyone woke up two hours later than we all had initially planned. Thanks to Austin, who didn't set an alarm the night before. Which caused all of us to scramble to our feet and get dressed. And it also caused a battle for the shower and just the bathroom in general.
Well there went to a great start to the trip.
What made it worse, was that we still needed to pack everything into the two cars. Man, the arguments that arose, I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Oh wait it was.
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
"I told you, we should've packed everything into the damn vehicles yesterday!" I remembered Hector angrily shout as he carried some of our stuff out. The raven haired male had officially lost his shit by this time. There's really no telling when he would cool down.
"Did someone say 'yesterday'!?" Out of nowhere one of my favorite people in this group came out from around the corner into the living room. "And now it's just yesterday's song, yesterday's song! The soundtrack, every night in my bed! The woo-ooh gettin' stuck in my head! Now you're just a nickel when feeling is gone! Baby, now you're just yesterday's song, yesterday's song!
"That was not your cue Hailey," Hector frustratedly replied to the brunette.
I shook my head and patted the girl on her shoulder before exiting with a handful of things to take to the van. Outside, the rest of the guys were trying to shove things into the Forde Escape and Chevy Malibu. I wish I had the money to buy myself a car as new as these. Sadly, I'm a poor individual.
"...well I for one think it would be best if we shove it in the back of the Escape." From the looks of it, the boys have taken sides and are now arguing over who knows what.
"What are you morons arguing over now?"
"Good timing Lyric!" Carlos sprang from his spot and came to guide me to his side. "Tell these idiots that it is best to place the food in the Malibu instead of the Escape."
The others were quickly to counter him. I had offered to look at the space left in each car and then depending on my evaluation, I would choose. I started with the Malibu, seeing as to how it's smaller, it would take less time to inspect. It seemed rather cramped in there, best option was to take a look at the Escape. The Escape on the other hand seemed to still have enough room for the food and a couple of other things we would be taking with us.
"Soooo....?" Carlos came and wrapped his arms around my shoulder.
"Well by looking at the space each had, the best option is the...." I paused for a dramatic effect. Carlos, Lucas, and Manny had their eyes shut and fingers crossed. Hector, Austin, and Carter had a confident smirk on their faces with arms crossed. "Sorry, but I have to side with Hector and them this time."
The winning side cheered, while the losing team dropped to their knees all while yelling, 'no'.
Rolling my eyes, I had them finish packing and what not to retrieve the girls. They can be dramatic a lot of the times, but whatever. After we had all grabbed what we needed, we headed out to meet up with the boys. Reassuring that everything is secure and we're ready to head out, four of our members shouted, "shotgun!!" Sadly, me being one of the four - Carlos, Lucas, and Austin being the others. I had started with sprinting to the Malibu seeing as it was the vehicle closest to me. I saw Lucas heading for it as well. I started to go faster and slid across the car's hood. Jumping onto the blonde's back as he ran past.
"Get off me!" He tried to pry me off him, but no avail.
"Never! Give up the passenger seat and I'll take it into consideration!"
"Never in your wildest dreams!"
Then in the distance all I heard was, "please.. don't," and then a, "too bad" before you could hear Hailey and Diana singing to One Direction's Best Song Ever.
Let's just say that I ended up with the seat I was going for. And a unhappy Lucas in the back of the Malibu. With Hailey and Carlos joining him. Manny of course was driving the vehicle. And on the Escape we had Hector as the driver and Austin as the passenger. Diana and Carter in the back. We had followed the others as we left.
By the time we had arrived at a gas station, it was around 2 pm. Man, we lost a great amount of time trying to get everything together.
〰〰〰〰〰〰
We haven't been here for a day and the guys have become quite bored, should I say. And the next thing I know, everyone is gathered at the picnic table. "Here ye, here ye!" Manny rose from his seat, "let this four day activity planning commence!" He had slammed a toy gravel onto the table for effect.
"Loser," Carlos coughed into his fist. Manny turned and glared at the male, but said nothing and continued.
"Now who's turn is it to plan today's activity." He looked around the table, but we all knew whose turn it was.
"Oooo~ me!" Carter enthusiastically said.
Manny had refused to acknowledge him, instead he tossed his toy gravel from one hand to another.
Carter sighed loudly, "what I meant was.. it's my turn your honor."
"That's better," he grunted. "Have you chosen an activity?"
"I have," he rubbed his hands excitedly. The rest of us, with the exception of Manny, glanced at each other. Knowing him, this plan of his was either a good idea, or a very bad, bad idea.
"Well let's hear it."
"We are..." He had paused probably to rise the tension. "PLAYING HIDE-AND-SEEK!!!" He burst out excitedly. He then held his hand up for a high-five. He didn't get one.
"What do you mean hide-and-seek?" I demanded.
"NO SPEAKING OUT OF TURN!!" Manny roared, as he pounded his gravel onto the table repeatedly, to try and silence everyone, "Mr. Graham, please proceed."
"I mean, there's practically nothing else to do, considering how late it is-" that part is not a lie. It's practically dark out and yeah, but seriously?! "- I was also thinking it would be a challenge, since it'll make looking for the hiders harder to find. And if the seeker manages to locate a person, they could help him/her locate the others."
"Oh thank God for that suggestion, I was starting to think that the seeker would have to be it and once he found someone, the new 'it' would have to be alone as well," Carlos had placed a hand onto his chest in pure relief.
"ORDER IN THE COURT!!!" Manny had slammed his gravel onto the table a bit more aggressively.
"It's completely dark out, that's when the animals come out to play," Diana groaned. "I don't want to become food for whatever is roaming out there at this hour."
"DIANA RAQUEL HERNÁNDEZ!! DO I NEED TO HAVE YOU REMOVED!!?" Manny boomed.
"Removed?" Diana snorted, "by who exactly?"
"Weeellllll," Manny glanced around warily, as his anger simmered down to pure irritation. "Me, I guess?"
"Don't worry guys," Carter interrupted. "It's going to be a lot of fun, just meet here after you've gathered your equipment. You only need like a flashlight or lantern."
After a long final minute of the gathering, we were dismissed. I had gone back to Diana's, Hailey's, and my tent to grab a flashlight with the two. Then heading back to the table. I for one am not too enthusiastic about this. Someway, somehow, I know this is going to turn upside down. It's going down for the worst.
"Just for the record," Diana began as she handed her flashlight to Hailey, and tied her hair in a high pigtail. "If I somehow end up as animal food, the two of you-" pointing to Manny and Carter, "- are not welcome to my funeral."
The two rolled their eyes.
"Chill, there's no way that's happening," Carter exclaimed. "The worst that can happen is someone ends up missing, in other words lost, or with a broken ankle or something."
With that said, Carlos volunteered to be seeker for the first round as soon as we made it into the woods. Almost instantly when he turned and started counting, we all bolted out of there and split up to find a place to hide. I didn't make it to my spot behind a bush without tripping and at some point face planting onto the ground.
What a great way to start.
"Okay Lyric, you got this." I turned off my flashlight as I had begun talking to myself. A very bad habit of mine. God the times I was caught saying something to myself that was meant to be kept a secret.
Who knows how long has passed, but probably about half an hour later, Carlos, Hailey, and Austin managed to find me. I was glad they hadn't been able to find Lucas. That blondie will get a a huge scare out of this. We initially managed to find Lucas and Diana hiding in the same location.
"I so wanna get a scare out of Luke."
"Are you sure?" Hailey nervously asked, "Diana is bound to get frightened as well."
"Positive," I rubbed my hands mischievously. "Sacrifices must be made in every war."
"What?" The three confusingly looked at me, "I am sure that doesn't-"
"Sssshhhh," I placed my index finger on Austin's lip. "Let me have my moment."
After discussing the plan to them, we made our move. At first it was ruffling the bushes that were around them. Followed by "accidentally" hitting the tree barks. And simultaneously both things. I then proceeded to walk up to the blonde from behind, careful not to attract their attention. Once I was a couple of feet away, enough to jump onto his back, I carried out the final phase.
I jumped onto his back and screamed 'boo'.
Two girly screams echoed through the area. But it didn't go as planned. I had forgotten that Lucas had gone through karate lessons and gotten his green belt. So he had then flipped me over him and slammed me to the ground.
"Uuuuuuggghh," I groaned out in pain. A chorus of laughter erupted soon after my smack down.
"Oh my God Lyric," Luke panicked. "I thought you were an animal or something."
"Serves you right though, you scared the crap out of me!" Diana scoffed.
"That was awesome!" Carlos was practically tearing up, holding his stomach. " I can't... You should've.. hahaha... You should've seen your face when he... Oh my goodness!!"
"I agree price-" Austin began but only to get his and Carlos' ear pulled roughly by Hailey.
"OW! OW, OW!!!" The two shouted in pain.
"You imbeciles!"
As the game progressed, we continued onwards in our search for the remaining three. We really needed to find them and head back to the camp ground. But it soon turned into a very frantic search for them. It started raining out of nowhere. Soon pouring like crazy.
"Initiate the emergency call," Diana called out in the mess.
We nodded and prepared to cry out.
"One," we stopped in our spots.
"Two," our hands moved up to cup our mouths.
"Three," simultaneously, we all hollered, "NO FREAKING WAY!!! IT'S THE OMAR FROM OMARGOSH TV!!!" If anything will get their attention and have them running here, it would be that. They are huge fans of Omar. Not gonna lie, so are we. He's practically the one who motivated us to start our own ghost hunting.
We counted up to 30, knowing it'll take 'em some time to get to where we are. And sure enough, after counting to 30, we heard three distinctive, "Omar!? Where is he!?"
The three came out panting from somewhere behind us.
"Where's... Omar?" Manny coughed out.
"Please tell me we didn't just miss him!" Hector rasped out.
"You guys should've held him back a bit more for us." Carter wined.
"Sorry guys, that was a lie." I started, "we just did it in a attempt to get you here, since it's like pouring."
"On the bright side, you guys are the winners of this round." Hailey tried to lighten the mood. Though it didn't really do much.
"Why you guys gotta play us like that?" Manny pouted, "you know it's our dream to meet him."
"Yeah," the two joined in.
On our way back to the campground, I had been given a piggy back ride from Diana. Everything was going nice and smooth, that's until her foot got caught on a root.
"Ahhhhh!!!" We both shouted.
She had fallen over and took me down with her. It was like slow motion, on our way down, she had unlatched her arms from under my legs in order to catch herself. I in return, wasn't expecting that at all, so I had been sent flying a tiny bit further. My leg had fallen straight on a rock, ouch!
"Diana! Lyric!"
We both grunted in response.
I was the first one to get off the ground with the help of Luke and Carlos. Diana on the other hand, needed someone to balance her on her feet. That was left to Hailey and Carter.
"You okay there Diana?"
"Hey!" I pouted, "what about me?"
"Shut it Lyric," Austin yelled. "Not everything is about you!"
I only pouted more and gave him the cold shoulder. Not like I didn't know that already. Rude!
"What on Earth happened?" She clamped her hand onto her head. "Who are you guys?"
We all gasped.
"Is this where we start singing Amnesia?" Hailey responded.
"Not the time Hailey!"
"Jeez, sorry," she held her hands up in defense.
"Hurry, what's the last thing you remember?"
"I was just kidding you guys." The bright pink haired girl giggled. "But you should have seen your faces."
At that Carter released his hold on her.
"Are we sure she's saying the truth?" Carlos piped up, "I think we should run some tests just to be sure."
I was about to say something when a howl was heard close, but far away from our spot. A coyote. I was then pushed to the ground by Carlos, while Carter and Austin did the same to Diana and Hector.
"What the hell guys!?" I shouted after them.
"Every man for himself!"
"Exactly!" Carter and Austin boomed after him.
The rest of us groaned in irritation and followed after them.
