Minthara Spoilers cause holy shit!!!!
but
I sometime wonder if it is lost on folks just how crazy it is that Minthara is a living female drow of Baenre house.... like.....
Baenre has been first house of Menzoberranzan since way before Drizzt was born. What is a first house? Well, there are 10 "top" houses... and in order to be top house every house above you has to stop existing.... once house Oblodra (blood merchent bitches house) almost toppled them - when magic stopped working and they could use their mindflayer like mind power to win.... but even then house Baenre won.
And just how these houses stop existing is specific, the whole house must be wiped out with no 'witnesses' of who done it. If one house fails to finish an attack they start, they are the ones destroyed.
I'm sure I don't need to tell you Female decedents of a house are also struggling for power, 'first daughter' is as important as first house, second only to Matron Mother or ruler of that house.... now house Baenre doesn't want for daughters- but the fact that Minthara is 1)alive 2)not a priestess of loth 3)a fighter tells me a ton. She has dodged assassination from in and out of her family, was most likely denied the chance to be a priestess (cause they already had older daughters taking up that work) and told to be useful in combat- and turned into the baddest bitch around just to survive...
She is basically impossible to impress. You could roll up a lothsworn drow lady noble of another any other house.... you still will be nothing compared to her back home. God forbid your Tav be a boy drow, or some lesser race... she is above you, of that she knows.
like it's NUTS- i only just got to the reveal that she is from Baenre house.... and it tells me so much....
again no shame for those that play without knowledge of forgotten relms.... but that is such a huge name drop that tells you so much about her... that she even stands before you, that she even seemingly joins you..... NUTs.

Wyrmskull Throne
Tumblr media
The Wyrmskull Throne was a throne made from the skulls of four blue dragons slain by Taark Shanat around −12,000 DR to bring the Cloaker Wars to a victorious end for his dwarves. It was believed that the throne was forged by Dumathoin's hand.
The throne originally resided in Brightaxe Hall (originally the Rift of Dhalnadar), in the lair of the blue dragons. When Brightaxe Hall was abandoned during the Third Spider War around −6150 DR, the dwarves took the throne with them.
In 1360 DR, a gang of pirates briefly recovered the Wyrmskull Throne in the Bay of Skulls near Hook Isle, but then lost it again.
The Throne resurfaced around 1370 DR in possession of the aquatic elf tyrant Gantar Kraok.
After an adventuring party took it away from the Gantar Kraok they sold it to storm giant queen Neri for a considerable fortune. She magically enlarged it and gave it as gift to her husband king Hekaton.

SLEEP HABITS
Tumblr media
NAME: Skarbrand Ragefeaster
RESIDENCE: Deserts of Araby, WyrmSkull
TYPE OF BED: Literally just a duvet
NUMBER OF BLANKETS: 1
NUMBER OF PILLOWS: 0
TYPE OF CLOTHING: He either will or won’t wear his armor to bed, depending on how comfortable he is.
DO THEY SLEEP WITH COMPANY?: N’kari will insist sometimes
DO THEY SLEEP BETTER WITH COMPANY?: No
DOES IT MATTER WHERE THEY SLEEP?: Nope
WHAT DO THEY DO IF THEY CANNOT FALL ASLEEP?: Not sleeping is actually a natural state for Skarbrand. Sleeping is the weird thing; daemons only do it for pleasure or a lack of resources/to conserve energy. Low power mode.
FREQUENT DREAMS, NIGHTMARES: None he remembers, but probably being attacked by Khorne
DEEP SLUMBER OR NAPS: Deep Slumber. Catnaps, Skarbrand will rarely just straight up nap.
WHEN DO THEY SLEEP: At night, when you’re supposed to sleep.
WHAT COULD WAKE THEM UP: Loud noises, strange auras such as fellow daemons, the smell of blood or food, the scent of human souls, touch his broken horns, touch his tail or hooves (at your own risk)
EARLY OR LATE RISER: Early

After days of being cooped up in Wyrmskull healing, Skarbrand has limped outside and settled in the sand in the sun. Enjoying it’s relentless glare on his red skin...
@skxrbrand
A jacquard sheet is quietly lain next to him while later, and N’kari primly settles on top. His head and torso is shaded by an elaborate, lacy parasol struck in the sand. A ridiculously frilly fringe dangles from parasol, gently fluttering in the hot desert wind.
The picture of tranquility is disrupted when N’kari pulls out a wooden instrument and begins blowing on it. From the sound, it appears to be a recorder — a pipe flute highly favored by Reikspiel court musicians. It would produce a lovely resonating sound, if N’kari had any skill at playing it.
The cultists say that the keepers of Slaaneth are masters at anything they touch, but perhaps it’s all heresy if judged by the arch-tempter’s music skill. Sometimes he would blow too hard and the note would screech out of the recorder. Sometimes the notes lacks the necessary force and dies in sad toot.

From the Desk of Samuel Brightsword, High General of the Abrian Military
author's note: this is a series of letters I'll be presenting to my players in the coming sessions of my D&D campaign. Samuel Brightsword is an elven paladin who, alongside King Hector and a few others, lead a rebellion against the tyrannical Lords of the World forty years ago. He's been serving as a mentor/uncle figure to the players, who are employed by the king to eradicate the newly-resurgent cults attempting to resurrect the Lords of the World. He is currently leading the war against the invading horde of orcs, and is charged with guarding the enchanted metal coffin in which the Sword of Caedes, a demonic artifact of tremendous power, is imprisoned. That's probably all the context you need to get the gist of this piece.
Your Majesty, I have arrived at the front. As I write this, my men and I are surveying a raided village, too small to possess a name, let alone defend itself against a raid. Bodies litter the ground, everything of value having been stripped from them. The orcs think they can win this war; that they can invade our lands and emerge unscathed. But they will not. Trust in me, your Majesty. I did not falter in the face of the Lords, and a few marauding orcs will hardly be an issue. I expect that the most inconvenient part of this whole arrangement will be carrying the Sword about (my back really hurts). Regardless of these weighty demon remains and my poor, aching back, I am confident that we will win this war. I’m paying one of the soldier-mages to teleport these letters back home, both to keep you informed as to my doings and as a record for future scholars wishing to hear the first-hand tale of Samuel Brightsword fighting off the orcish invasion. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, Today I had the privilege of witnessing Aghra Wyrmskull in combat. Her strength is something to behold, cracking shields and the arms behind them with casual blows. Her weapons and armor are wreathed in the flame of a long-dead dragon, and where she strides, my men die. Her mastery of the spear and axe has taught me much, even looking on from afar. Nonetheless, I am confident that if I were to meet her on the field, I would win the duel within three blows. I wish the kids were here, this exercise has been quite educational. On a less wholesome note, I’d forgotten the joys of campaigning: the vast array of field-brewed liquors have proved quite entertaining. If I weren’t already immune to disease, these drinks are alcoholic enough to fix that. I’ve been winning quite a few drinking contests, a trait I’m sure you love to see in your premier general. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, We met the main body of the Horde on the field. Orcs have a charming habit of challenging the most significant forces on the battlefield to honor duels, and I won thirty-seven of them over the course of the day. They really are something. The orcs will clear a circle, establishing a small-scale truce enforced by tremendous violence inflicted on those who break it, be they orc or Abrian. Then the challenger will state their name and their ship, followed by the other combatant. I identified myself under our flagship, and “Samuel Brightsword of the HMS Brilliance” has a nice ring to it. While I triumphed over a few dozen of the orcs’ finest champions, Aghra did the same to most of my lieutenants on the other side of the battlefield, which was inconvenient. We locked eyes as the fighting died down, but neither of us was particularly inclined to more combat. I was satisfied with my victories, and she was unwilling to sacrifice more of her people. The orcs outnumbered us at the start of the day, and did not by sunset. We broke out more of the moonshine and had ourselves a fine revel. What can I say? Winning feels good. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, Victory is in reach! After a week of preparation in Nordhold, we have taken to the seas in pursuit of the Horde. Their longboats are swifter than our warships, and their sailors are finer, but I’m confident that we could win a proper face-to-face engagement, given our superior numbers. I’ve brought as many bold fighting men and women as I could fit on our boats, and the whole of the Northern Abrian Navy is a sight to behold! Almost half a hundred ships total, and the four great warships can each carry nearly a thousand fighting men, alongside a dozen spellcannons! Whether we engage them at sea or land on the archipelago, I expect a swift victory. I swear to you that I will win this war, no matter what it takes. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, I am pleased to report that we emerged victorious from our engagement with the Horde on the seas. Their shamans proved to be no match for our soldier-mages, and I boarded the Wyrmskull to engage Aghra, whose corpse now floats somewhere out in the middle of the Hordesea. She gave me a motherfucker of a head wound; a worthy opponent until the end. We’ve won the war, and will be continuing on to the archipelago. A brief stint of raiding in return will cripple the Horde’s ability to make war in the coming years, securing our total victory and the safety of our nation. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, We have sacked the coastal orcish city of Lleipnull, burning the food reserves we could not take and slaying its garrison. Resistance was fiercer than anticipated, and we made no attempt to occupy the city after taking it. We trust that repairs and preparations to survive the winter will keep the populace too occupied to attack our rear as we march onwards inland. Our forces remain numerous and hearty, motivated by yet another win. Current casualties number a few hundred; we left them and a few platoons of fighting-fit soldiers with the ships to guard against sabotage. Now that we’re on the march, I’m unsure as to what we’ll do with further wounded. There’s some room on the supply wagons we took from Lleipnull, but after that, we can’t have anyone slowing us down if we’re to win this war in full. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, It has been some weeks since I last had time to sit and write. I lost damn near half my army to a battle against the massed might of three sister cities, but instead of retreating and allowing them to hound our flanks, we held a mountain pass and broke them. The soldiers are tired but determined. We reached the city of Heim, but lacked the tools and manpower to besiege it, so we dirtied the wells and used the last of our salt rations to ruin the surrounding fields. Tomorrow we march for the ships. It has been a lengthy campaign, but victory is ours. I shudder to think of the repercussions of these orders I have given, of how many will starve before winter is out. But we cannot afford a war with the orcs while fighting off corruption from within. I fear the orcs will hold this grudge for generations to come, and that in a not-too-distant future we will once again find the Horde at our gates. But for now, I return victorious. My hands are bloodied once more in service of the nation, and my regrets are fleeting in the face of the truth: I have won the war. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, We’ve lost one of the warships. The HMS Wolfhound went down around noon today. Every soldier aboard died, almost a thousand. Armand, my loyal message-sender and magic-explainer, told me that it was likely a malfunction in one of the spellcannons, given the fact that the explosion was black as pitch. He then went on to say that both Doctor Vost and ol’ Amadeus had both vouched for the spellcannons’ consistency, and that such a malfunction hadn’t been caused by anything short of Iridessan alchemist’s fire, which we did not bring on this expedition for that exact reason. It’s sabotage, then, and it seems unlikely that the saboteur survived the blast for questioning. Unfortunate. I won’t let something as simple as death stop me from getting my answers, though. I’ll be descending to the seafloor under a water breathing enchantment in the hopes of finding a few bodies to interrogate. Armand can speak with the dead, so it shouldn’t be too hard. I’ll write back immediately with the results of this inquisition. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, The perpetrator was a young tiefling man by the name of Iaris. A pikeman, serving under General Brand. While docked, our ships were under heavy surveillance and any attempt at sabotage would have certainly been foiled, alongside myself going on a brief diversion to root out any corruption in the city. So our saboteur wanted until we were at sea, when he could access the cannon deck unaccosted. His wife and daughter had been taken hostage by an unknown party, who delivered orders and a vial of alchemist’s fire to him on the eve of our departure. He was to destroy at least one of our warships before returning to the mainland, in exchange for their lives. He’d delayed as long as he could, in the hopes of a storm or enemy activity completing the task for him, but as we neared land, he grew desperate. I expect his family has been dead for months now. I also doubt he was the only plant in our ranks. I’ve warned the other Generals, and when it’s feasible I’ll bring every soldier under my command under a zone of truth to ask a few questions. Anyone who can’t be trusted entirely will be hung, I can’t risk another loss like today’s. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword
Your Majesty, We’ve made landfall, and I have begun conducting the examination. I executed three blackmail victims and one willing traitor. The blackmail victims were in possession of the same orders and equipment as Iaris, and now that one ship was destroyed, they swore they were no threat. They remained a liability, so I had them hung. The latter had snuck into my tent with the intention of slitting my throat, and in his defense, he did so successfully. Unluckily for him, I quickly closed the wound and returned the favor. We interrogated his corpse, and to the surprise of no one, he was a believer in the Lords’ cause. He’d apparently tried to pry open the coffin in which the Sword is kept, but as you know, the lock responds only to the blood of us Heroes of the Rebellion. Despairing in that endeavor, he attempted assassination instead. I doubt that things have been peaceful on the home front, but I hope you’ve been having a better few months than I. I am eager to return to my work in the kingdom, so we can finally put the real threat to rest. Fear not, my liege, for I know in my heart that we will win this. It can’t end any other way. I won’t let it. Glory to Abrium, Samuel Brightsword

Adora: I talked to the GM and they said I could use the Giant Soul Unearthed Arcana
Catra: It works with Constitution, right? Your build might not be so shit after all
Adora: That and since I’m part giant I might be able to take over the Wyrmskull Throne and we could rule together over all giant kind
Catra: My birthday isn’t until October. Are you sure you want to give me that gift now?

for the 3 people following me and the record.
dammon's VA has shitty views and is not a good person for holding them currently. it doesn't mean you need to stop liking the character.
Halsin's VA is an adult who is allowed to like adult content about his adult character from an adult game on a personal account.
that is all.

Iymrith
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iymrith (with an i not an L) is an ancient blue dragon who can assume the form of a storm giant. In this guise, she has infiltrated Hekaton's court. While concealing her true nature and agenda from the giants, Iymrith offers counsel to princess Serissa and at the same time secretly feeds the anger and jealousy of Serissa's older siblings, with the ultimate goal of thrusting the giants into war with the small folk. The dragon also wants to wrest the Wyrmskull throne from the storm giants and add it to her trove.
The disguised dragon put Mirran and Nym in contact with representatives of Slarkrethel, a legendary kraken that haunts the Trackless sea. These small folk belong to a secret yet widespread organization called the Kraken Society. using information given to them by the evil storm giant sisters, Kraken Society operatives ambushed and killed Queen Neri. Iymrith then planted rumors in the storm giant court that the queen had been assassinated by the Lords' Alliance, a confederacy of cities and settlements populated by small folk and scattered throughout the North. The Lords' alliance represents one of the greatest threats to dragons Fearûn, so Iymrith is keen to bring about its end.

Finally. Been meaning to put this up, to showcase just how expansive the Corruption of Araby’s desert is. Everything in Grey is the Blacksand Desert, a swathe of land Skarbrand claims for himself.
Towards the West, we’ve got Nqaraxa’s encampment.
Towards the North-West is where Khazaan typically patrols.
Lyss didn’t specify a location, but being between two Khornates is funny so I just placed her there lmao
And Kha’xazyr is often gone, but his contingent of the Bloodletters and other Khorne Daemons hand out near the East.
Skarbrand is ofc in the center, at WyrmSkull, which is across from the Desert Temple in the middle of the desert. Yes, Skarbrand saw a temple with a water hole and a big monsters skeleton and went “I’ll take the skeleton”. N’kari’s mirror, and often N’kari himself, are also there.
Wyrmskull is large enough to considered a small settlement.

A friend is putting together a game of Pathfinder, and we were allowed to use monsters of a certain level. So I found a hilarious template called the Wyrmskull template (which is basically just the skull of a dragon raised as an undead), and applied it to an imperial (wingless, but flying anyways) dragon. His name is Narkenbone. Here he is.
