came back for a bit just to say I hate Zepotha so so so much because that fact it’s so popular you can’t have a set in stone cast of main characters, plot, or lore. Also the fact that there’s even AO3 Stories of it baffles me cause how do you even make a fic of something that doesn’t even have everything you need to have a good coherent story (like main characters, character relationships, plot, lore, etc)

I think the funniest thing to me regarding this whole ‘Zepotha’ thing on TikTok* is looking at the fics that have popped up for it on Ao3 and seeing basically every single fic get tagged with a different group of characters because people can only agree on like four characters

*For people who don’t actually know anything abt this, Zepotha is functionally just 80’s teen slasher Goncharov without the consistent plot or characters. It was proposed by this one tiktoker who was like ‘okay let’s pretend like this 80’s horror movie is a real thing’ and it just went out of control

TikTok is trying to pull this Goncharov but called Zepotha. I'm surprised how large it's gotten already considering the size of the platform. It didn't start naturally. There was a TikTok saying "hey wouldn't it be funny if we all pretending that a movie existed called Zepotha" and the initial comments were very forced. When it spreads to over videos it's a little more natural? There's 50 fics for it on ao3 at the moment
