Evergreen: I just really like buff men.
Elfman: Fuck, I gotta start working out!
Evergreen: ...Elfman, you're already buff.
Elfman: Oh yeah!
Freed: You sure you want that one?
Evergreen: Unfortunately, yes.

You know what I should be doing? Writing. You know what I'm not doing? You guessed it, writing.
Here have some gay pirates (just one of the many things I need to finish, and one of the few things I desperately want to finish but lack the motivation to do so):
Shinya thinks he’s pretty, and the thought bounces around Tsunagu's head. Perhaps there’s still something there, something possible between them. It’d make sense, no? Shinya’s kept him alive and hasn’t hurt him despite his expressed willingness and desire to.
His gaze flicks down to Shinya’s lips, thin and scarred, a shade darker than his ghoulish skin, almost a grey color, and slightly parted, hovering a breath away from Tsunagu’s. If he just arched the slightest bit, tilted his head a fraction…
Is it worth the risk?
It is.
His lips feel cracked and dry against his with not an ounce of softness anywhere, much like the rest of him, and he can taste the Dragon’s Jewel Ale Shinya was drinking earlier. An uncommonly sweet-tasting amber drink but with a bit of a burn as it goes down; often made with honey, dragon tongue flowers, wild berries, and dragon’s breath—all flowers from a faraway land.
Not a bad taste, though Tsunagu prefers the smoother Jewel Berry Wine, a lilac-colored, semi-translucent liquid, like the surface of an opal, and, as the name would imply, made from various berries and a dash of nightshade. A drink with a perfect blend of sweet and tart.
The kiss lasts longer than Tsunagu would’ve thought. Shinya is frozen, as quiescent as a stone statue—and as fine as marble—his sharp grey eyes blown wide. He’s positively stunned, and a bit of selfish pride warms Tsunagu’s heart at this reaction, emboldening him but as Tsunagu tries to deepen their embrace by cupping the back of Shinya’s head, he seems to snap out of it and slams Tsunagu back against the chair, ruining their kiss.
His face contorts into something unreadable as he glares down at Tsunagu, but Tsunagu can see anger swimming in his grey eyes, and dread seeps into him as he stares at Shinya’s unyielding expression. Just what will Shinya do for that grievance?
After a tense moment, Shinya drops his blade to the floor; Tsunagu watches it fall from his hand and clatter to the floor. He almost sighs in relief. Almost. Shinya snatches his chin between his fingers to keep him still, and with a snarl, smashes their lips together again. All teeth and tongue, and small little huffs like a dog with its bone, overwhelming Tsunagu with his roughness, the swift domination as Shinya allows him no quarter, no time to breathe.
Just as quick as it started, Shinya pulls away, leaving Tsunagu panting while he seems utterly unaffected by it all. He wipes the spit from his lips with the back of his hand as his grey eyes stare down into Tsunagu’s green, seeming to stare straight into his soul, and Tsunagu can’t look away.

Here have an (NSFW) Edgejeanist WIP snippet (that I'm struggling to finish) in lieu of a finished product
“Oh? We’re playing this game again, are we?” Tsunagu purrs as Shinya drops the bottle on the side of the bed and grabs his wrists again. He carefully ties his wrists to the ornate headboard of their four-poster bed, designed to look like the gnarled, twisted roots of a tree.
Tsunagu has an incessant—no, compulsive need to take care of other people, and if it weren’t for the ropes, he’d try to undermine, Shinya and take control and power-bottom at every turn, and not being able to is like a sexual mental torture for him. He’s helpless to do anything, and Shinya can pleasure him any way he likes without interference from the blonde.
“Yes,” Shinya answers, his voice a low murmur as he finishes with the rope and pulls back, pausing to stare down at the lean blonde laid perfectly out for him. An unparalleled, gorgeous tapestry of sleek, sinewy muscle, and long graceful limbs under perfect, flawless skin just for him. Ah, but where to start when there’s so much to savor?
He places his hands on Tsunagu’s chest, firm and solid underneath his palms, and gently rolls his thumbs over Tsunagu’s taut nipples, savoring the small whimper that the blonde rewards him with.
He lowers his head, and takes one into his warm, wet mouth, tongue lapping and swirling over the swollen bud as he plays with the other in his fingers. Tsunagu groans and tries to wind his hand in Shinya’s long silky hair on instinct, but the rope offers no slack, and Tsunagu grumbles under his breath.
Shinya’s amused chuckle vibrates his skin as he sucks on the sensitive flesh, grazing it with his teeth, and Tsunagu shudders at the shards of pleasure coursing through him, like small bits of ground glass in his veins.
Shinya releases him, switching to the other and offering it the same treatment. Tsunagu squirms under the ninja’s ministrations, this small—no, barely perceivable amount of pleasure is like a torture of its own. He lets out a sound that’s half whine and half demand. “Shinya!"
“Yes?” Shinya asks, feinting a nonchalant innocence as he licks his slick lips, but his eyes swim with devious mischief, and Tsunagu almost groans, leaning his head back against the pillows, simultaneously regretting all the torment—the teasing—Shinya’s about to put him through, and exhilarated by it.

Why does writing sometimes feel like I'm trying to pry off my nails with tweezers đź’€
I get to a certain point in the writing and my brain refuses to go from one thing to another.

Literally cannot emphasize enough that my #1 writing advice is to stop being afraid. Stop being afraid of sounding too cringe, or too stupid, or too horrifying, or too horny, or too weird, or too much, or too little, or too you. You need to put your entire pussy into your art. Sure, it won't be to everyone's tastes, but if you keep yourself to the blandest tamest safest roads possible you will be of no one's tastes, not even yours.

(I'm not dead, I swear!) I've hit I wall with everything I've tried to write so I took a break and did some art instead (and suffered even more). Theres actually supposed to be three people in this but he looked terrible, and nothing like he was supposed to so he got erased. Might pencil him in later, but probably not. Anyway, introducing Shinya's parents! (THE EMOJIS ARE SCREENSHOTS I DIDN'T DRAW THEM, I was lazy and didn't wanna do dialogue.)

Also, no, they aren't talking about murder, Kenshin's a workaholic and he's talking about a surgery he performed that day. Yuwa's scolding him and Shinya isn't listening. Kenshin's hair is actually supposed to be thinner and spindly but I can't draw hair, or eyes, heads in general really. Yuwa's hair isn't the way I want it either, and I'm not sure what color I want it to be yet. However, I'm actually proud of their bodies, they turned out okay. I might draw Hisanaga (Tsunagu's father) too (I'll go back to writing, I swear)

How to write a found family
By Writerthreads on Instagram
The found family story is a type of YA trope where individuals from different backgrounds come together to form a family, possibly to make up for their lack of true family. When it’s done well, found families can be so wholesome and heartwarming, and I simply adore this trope. Here's a guide to help you write a compelling found family in your WIP:
Create a diverse group of characters
The key to writing a successful found family story is to have a diverse cast of characters with different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. This diversity will make the story richer and allow you to explore different perspectives and themes from different points of views. It also allows for a wide range of readers to find a character that they can relate to.
Establish a common goal
In a found family story, the characters come together to achieve a common goal. This goal can be anything from surviving an apocalypse to starting a business together. It is essential to establish this goal early on in the story, as it will help to create a sense of unity among the characters.
Themes
Using themes can add depth to a found family story by providing a framework for exploring the emotional and psychological growth of the characters. Here are a few examples:
Belonging: The idea that characters finally have a place where they fit in, and the struggles that come with feeling like an outsider previously.
Identity: The idea of self-discovery when a character finally becomes part of a family and has the time and people to communicate with to understand themselves.
Acceptance: Characters accepting themselves and others for who they are, overcoming previous prejudices.
Family: What makes a family, and the classic tropes associated with families and variations of them. Eg. the "mum" of the group who also doubles as the "wild child" at times.
Explore each character's backstory
A found family story is all about the characters' individual journeys and how they come together, and this can be done by giving each character a backstory that explains their motivations and desires. This can justify bad choices that characters may make or simply allow the readers to relate to them more. You can also use flashback scenes or dialogue to reveal important details about each character's past, however, I think flashbacks can be used more sparingly and only if they serve a purpose.
Create conflicts and obstacles
Like any good story, a found family story needs conflict to keep readers engaged. You can create conflicts within the group or create some external obstacles that the group must overcome. These conflicts challenge the characters and force them to grow and change through adverse situations. It’s especially interesting to see how characters with conflicting personalities or life views have friction with each other.
These are some of the tips I could think of for creating a found family in your story. As always our tips are just guides to help you with your book and definitely not a set of rules to follow. Good luck and have fun! :)
