Okay but what about a woman with chronic fatigue syndrome and bad heart burn? Because I'm losing my mind every other week playing the "is it heart burn and an anxiety attack, or is it actually a heart attack?"
When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then?
Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.
You are really tired and frustrated. All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..
Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.
How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.
1. But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.
2. Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment
3. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.
4. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.

So my dad texts me today about something big we need to talk about.
I immediately start to panic, thinking this is a cancer talk or something.
But no, of course not.
Instead, he's met someone new via a wrong number text and is planning to meet her and her mother in a month, but he's conflicted because he's been married to my step mom for 13 years.
And I have sent him a ton of articles about the pig butchering scam, because this is so clearly a scam. She's 23 years younger than him, 'independently wealthy' due to her crypto investments, and planning to let my dad retire from truck driving to help her run her fashion design business. And she's Italian.
He won't listen. He's saying he'll be cautious, but he still plans to go forward with this affair and meet her and her mother. To very likely leave his wife and my step sister in the lurch.
And there's nothing I can do to prove to this man that this is a textbook case of a romance scam because he's fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.
Lord.

Watching how two dogs who love each other will sometimes still nip each other on the ear, bug them while they sleep, etc... watching how cats will snuggle with their buddy all day and then paw-smack 'em in the face, chase them, play-fight...
Makes me, as a fellow social mammal, feel better about my urge to be incredibly annoying to another human sometimes. Like, yeah. Of course I wanna bug you. Of course it's fun to annoy you. We're social creatures and annoyance can be part of play, something we all need. And I watch these dogs who get their ears nipped, cats who get smacked out of a nap, and despite BEING annoyed, they don't stop loving their packmate. After they finish play-fighting, they're back to snuggling and grooming and sleeping together. BEING annoyed is also just part of being in a social group and having relationships... and that's okay. It doesn't erase love or necessarily make them mad or affect them in the long term... a loved one being annoyed with me is a temporary feeling that's normal for social creatures. An annoyance that wouldn't be possible WITHOUT that love

Reviews are in and we're going with option 2!
I'm in a mood, so I need to do some world-building for my Cozy Paranormal Mystery series; Madam Vespertine's Remedies and Remediation.
The main character, Ophelia, recently dropped out of law school. Before she did that, she had to get in to law school in the first place.
We have two options for how that happened:
Either she studied hard for the LSAT and got into Lark and Clews Law School after years of planning, only to realize halfway through that law wasn't for her.
OR
She got curious about law and started taking the LSAT practice tests for funsies and then accidentally signed up for the real, remote proctored test and managed to score high enough to be accepted into Lark and Clews.
And sure, you might think "who would just go do practice LSAT tests out of curiosity", and the answer is me. I want to take the practice tests just to see what's up.
So, what do we think? Did she mean to get into law school or was it totally an accident that she just said "This might as well happen" to, and went with it?

This is something that I spent years fighting, pretending I didn't do, tried to plot my way away from.
So if any writers need permission to procrasti percolate then let me assure you that you have it.
If any of you need permission from someone more official, then Becca Syme (cozy mystery author and productivity coach to over 6k successful indie authors) actually has a term for this. She calls it the "Bread Machine Writer".
Like a bread machine, you may look like you're not doing anything on the outside, but inside the wheels are turning and the dough is being mixed.
So go sit down and stare at a wall (or take a walk, do the dishes, whatever works for you), and when the time comes to start baking your bread be assured that all your ingredients are well mixed.
I am not staring at nothing. I am not not writing. I am percolating. I am conceptualizing. It is starting to take form in my head... slowly. When I am ready, I will pick up the pen. Or the laptop I guess.

The Fortune Cookie Quartet is live!

This bundle contains four of the Six Sapphic Stories written by Madam Aurora Vespertine.
They were published under her pen name Bianca Gamble to avoid conflict with the people the characters were based on, as she drew inspiration from people watching in the Crossroads Cafe.
Now, these books reside in the attic of her home in Averton, long forgotten by most. There are a few other copies that linger, though.
Perhaps you can find a copy, tucked away in the Amazon rainforest - brought there by an adventurous shifter - or lost in a Ream of stories that never made it out of the printing warehouse.
