PC saga update

I gave up on that second board. I'd tried two PSUs, two GPUs, two sets of RAM, two different coolers, all of those parts known to be working. Always the same, seemingly to short at the VGA stage.

I contacted the seller and they had the same issue, said a different cooler fixed it. So I took the nice cooler out of my working PC and tried that, didn't help.

They didn't accept my return request so I reported them to eBay and the case was decided in my favour. I need to post it back this weekend but I'll get refunded, including the postage 😁

I said that would be the last one. I said I'd buy a new unopened one.... But I couldn't resist the absolute bargain basement one I've found for £56. Half price of any of the others I've seen, cheaper even than any that are being sold for parts.... But the listing says it definitely is working and the low price is due to it being hardware ID banned from call of duty. Fucking lol. I've done some research and bans like that don't transfer (apparently) and I've never played COD so it should be fine for me. The seller also has a 100% reputation score. So I've taken a risk. Hopefully it'll be third time lucky. Or if not, I've got more to learn

I'm 4 weeks into the cut today. It's going well. The initial boost I was getting from having recovered from all of my injuries 🎉 has passed now and I'm feeling The Weakness.

It's not too bad, but having recovered up to my peak I'm back now down a rep or two, or 5-10kg or whatever. It's unavoidable.

I did a muscle up the other day to check I still could. When I'm right at the end I might see how many I can do in a row.

I'm down 4.5kg in 4 weeks. That's faster than I was aiming for, but I lost more than I meant to when I had food poisoning.

It's funny how I'm craving calorie dense food when it's off limits, but when I'm bulking I'm kinda meh about it. I need to remember how I'm feeling now back when I'm bulking to make myself eat enough

PC saga update

For now I've given up on the board with the capacitor I was soldering. It works, but not when the gaming gets intense. Always threw that memory exception/blue screen/just died completely

So I bought a new board. Well, a used in an ebay auction board lol.

Failed the bench test with the DRAM light on. I realised the BIOS version it shipped with didn't support the CPU I was using. It was on the supported list, but I had to update the BIOS. Spooky, but easy (and only possible) because it had a button on the back for it.

Now the light goes CPU, DRAM, VGA then reboots and loops. I've tried two known working graphics cards in two of its PCIE slots. The CPU doesn't support onboard graphics. The behaviour is the same in every configuration I've tried.

So it's not looking great. I'm going to try rearranging the RAM, a cooler that isn't fucking broken (on one corner the plastic is busted so possibly the pressure isn't even against the CPU...) and a different PSU. PSU I'm using now doesn't have an extra CPU power plug the board has a socket for. I think it's only really needed for overclocking, but still I can try it.

Side note my bowels still aren't right but I felt normal enough last night to be doing all this so I'm generally feeling better ✌️

My poor pooper is so sore from the frequent squits that I've taken to wiping with moist face wipes from a packet. They're so soothing. The greek style bin full of poopy wipes next to the loo is pretty gross though.

It briefly went black last night (!!!) so I called 111 and got referred to A&E. But I didn't go. Now it's back to a more normal colour, I got more medical advice and they said take immodium and you'll be fine in a few days, it's probably food poisoning.

So I'm just gently wfh, sad I have 0 motivation to work out or fuck, play video games or do any PC hospital. At least it also robbed me of my motivation to smoke weed last night though lol.

Got food poisoning just in time for my herpes outbreak clearing up 🫠

Extremely fortunately, only lower digestive symptoms. But even so it's painful and grim. And now I don't really wanna fuck. I hate this. At least it's come as I'm cutting. Still not great though because I can't go to the gym like this and I don't even really feel like working out at home either.
