The range Izuku has. One minute, you're looking at this baby faced boy who looks like sunshine and wouldn't harm a fly and you're just like "Aaaaw, he looks so innocent"...
Then the next he looks like some demon out of hell with rage in his eyes and ready to plant the seeds of chaos and destruction and you're just like "What. In. The Absolute. FUCK. Is. THAT?!"

The transparency of the problem is so apparent its painful. Thanks for this post OP
One of the things I hate most about Izuku’s treatment in the BNHA narrative is this insistence that he’s in the wrong for not relying on others (adults) more.
Because it’s a legitimate issue, that Izuku takes on too much responsibility and needs to trust others more. But like, why would he?
Just by the sheer number of ways that adults have failed him, both in the past and at UA, he has no reason to trust them
Literally, one of his formative moments was when he was four and a doctor told him to give up on his life’s dream
He then spent over ten years being mercilessly bullied while adults either did nothing or actively enabled this behavior
He was full witness to Bakugou nearly suffocating to death while surrounded by adult heroes who barely even tried to help him
then he was scolded for ‘taking unnecessary risks’ despite the fact that their inaction literally made it necessary for him to do something if Bakugou was going to have a chance to survive
Afterward, he started training with All Might, and like. I love the man, but his first instinct for Izuku faceplanting in the dirt was to demand to know if he was slacking off
This one is a bit of an outlier since it’s not Izuku actively being let down by an adult’s carelessness or inaction, but he also had front row seats to Aizawa getting his face bashed in on like, the first week of school. Aizawa might not have done anything wrong, but that doesn’t change the fact that Izuku’s seeing, first hand and painfully, that adults can’t always take care of things
You also have the sports festival, where Izuku manages to break himself again and Recovery Girl says that she’s not going to keep healing him. Which is it’s own medical fiasco, but like. The intent may have been to tell Izuku that he can’t keep breaking himself, but I’m pretty sure that Izuku, with his trust in adults and his own self-esteem basically shattered under years of abuse, would have heard something closer to ‘If you keep on bothering me with your shortcomings, I’m going to stop helping you’
There’s the whole thing with Stain - you know, where all the adults were (understandably) busy, so he went off to find Iida on his own. And found him and Native about to be murdered. And sent out a mass text for help, which netted him exactly one teenaged classmate who was any help for the fight.
Also after he and two of his teenaged classmates managed to take down the serial killer, Izuku promptly got snatched out of an entire crowd of heroes.
I’m going to repeat that: Izuku was bodily snatched out of an entire crowd of heroes, and the one who ended up saving him was the tied up, formerly unconscious serial killer. And yes, I know that Gran Torino at least was making a solid effort to do something, but you know what? Izuku doesn’t. Regardless of what he believes the heroes might or might not have done, what he knows is that he would have been at the mercy of the Noumu if it weren’t for the serial killer who tried to murder one of his best friends.
The thing with the police is a little anomalous because aside from the inherent stupidity of a law that doesn’t make exceptions for self-defense or the defense of others, the adults didn’t actually do anything wrong. Unfortunately, part of that included punishing three heroes for losing track of their interns, which then implies to Izuku that he can very easily get adults in trouble for his actions if they’re even remotely involved with him
Just… the entire final exam fiasco, starting with the fact that the adults in his life made the damned call to pair him with Bakugou, continuing with the fact that none of them did anything with the recorded proof that Bakugou punched him in the literal face without justifiable reason, and ending with the fact that they and the narrative itself seem to think that Izuku is (partially) at fault for Bakugou’s atrocious behavior.
spoiler alert he isn’t, but telling Izuku otherwise is a great way to make him feel responsible for other things that also aren’t his fault
it’s also a great way to make him feel like he needs to address these issues independently, because that’s literally what the teachers made him do
The summer training fiasco is another one where like, the adults didn’t do anything wrong, but just by the nature of the situation Izuku had to take care of a lot of things without adult help. Also, considering the flak Aizawa got for authorizing them for quirk use in self-defense, Izuku gets yet more proof of how involving adults in his life can get them unfairly punished for his actions
Kamino is another weird one, because on one hand, you have the adult heroes making a serious and concerted effort to save Bakugou to the best of their abilities, but you also have the fact that five kids recklessly went out to help how they could without adult supervision, and they were ultimately the ones who saved him and helped to protect the fragile state of society
Also there’s Aizawa telling them that, if it weren’t for societal upheaval, they all would have been expelled for saving their classmate
this one is kind of messy, because Aizawa’s not entirely wrong, but I don’t think he’s really right either. Like, yes they were reckless and kind of flirting dangerously with the law, but they also went in with very clear intentions to put themselves in as little danger as possible, and they made a big enough impact that you can’t really disregard the role they played in stopping All for One - literally, the only reason All Might could finish that fight was because they made the opportunity for him to do so
also its another incident that tells Izuku that involving other people, no matter how tangentially, in his plans puts them at serious risk of being punished because of his actions
Okay, like… as much as I love Izuku’s and Bakugou’s fight after the provisional license exam, I kind of hate it too - specifically because Izuku gets punished again for the fact that Bakugou would have punched his face in if he didn’t try to fight back.
this one is more on the narrative, though, because of the specific way that the fight was framed - namely that hori specifically chose to have patrol robots keeping track of things, but apparently didn’t decide to give them microphones to pick up on sensitive conversations. Such as, you know, the fact that Izuku literally tried to de-escalate the fight before and after Bakugou literally launched himself towards Izuku’s face
it’s still frustrating regardless, just because the adults should know better. There hasn’t been a single time in the entirety of the series where Izuku has fought Bakugou without being actively threatened, but for some reason, they still think that Izuku is equally responsible for this BS.
Nighteye. Like, he’s a good guy, but he did absolutely atrociously by Izuku. He didn’t even know Izuku, but just assumed that he was unworthy of OfA because he wasn’t Mirio and didn’t have perfect control of this quirk after an entire six months - I’m just saying, that’s really not the kind of adult that would inspire me to trust others
RockLock, in a similar vein, kind of just automatically assumes the worst of Izuku and the other interns by virtue of them being not-adults. And like, we know that it was because of his concern for these children, but like… Izuku doesn’t know that. He mostly knows that RockLock was criticizing him for ‘letting Eri go’ despite the fact that he specifically went against his sempai’s orders to try and keep her safe immediately.
Okay, part of the entire reason for this monster post is the thing with the school festival, where Izuku once again decides to tackle the problem on his own and gets scolded by the teachers. It’s one of those things where I get where it’s coming from, but at the same time, no?? Like, what did you expect him to do? He already knew about the ultimatum, that any disturbance considered to be a threat would cause the entire festival to be shut down, and he wanted to keep it open for the sake of a tiny, abused little girl. He’s not being reckless for no reason here, and he has a very limited window to work with. This is literally the only thing Eri has shown any sort of desire for, outside of seeing Izuku and Mirio, but none of the adults even acknowledge that Izuku was fighting for this. It’s just yet another scolding for not trusting adults when, even outside of the circumstances that made it difficult to ask, Izuku has very little reason to trust adults.
Look, the narrative isn’t wrong about the fact that Izuku needs to trust others more, and to share responsibility with others - it’s just that it focuses so much on this one particular issue that it ignores all the extenuating circumstances that have directly contributed to Izuku’s problems. Instead of acknowledging the fact that basically all of society has beaten this mistrust into Izuku from a young age, the narrative frames the entire thing as a problem with Izuku’s character.
It’s not. It’s a survival instinct, born from repeated trauma, that tells Izuku that it’s a waste of time and energy to depend on others for help with his problems.
And sure, part of it is probably influenced by Izuku’s innate character, but if the adults want to see any change in this behavior, then they need stop telling him to trust adults and think more about why he wouldn’t
But like, the narrative doesn’t bother. Why would they?

I was rewatching Uraraka vs Bakugou and Midoriya vs Todoroki at the gym today and theres a few important things i wanna point out that i missed with my old recap
Okay really it’s one thing but Deku has this habit of just rolling over submissive to people who intimidate him, until they say one negative word about someone Deku cares about
Then Deku goes right for the jugular and it’s great
Bakugou: Move, loser Deku: O-o-o-h-h-h Kacchan I didn’t see you!!! Ah whoops s-s-sorry I’m heading on out of here sorry to be in your way I-I-I I’m going now!!!! Bakugou: You piece of shit, you told Gravity Girl to mess with me, didn’t you Deku: Hey Baku-bitch listen the fuck up for one second k? Uraraka came up with that strategy all on her own, because she’s smart, and if I catch you insulting her ever again you can catch these fucking hands,
Endeavor: Move, loser Deku: O-o-o-h-h-h-h Endeavor I didn’t see you!!!! Ah whoops s-s-sorry I’m heading on out of here sorry to be in your way I-I-I I’m going now!!!! Endeavor: Dont hold back fighting Shouto–I need him to surpass All Might as my ultimate creation and beating you is the first step. Deku: Yo hey Endeavor u take criticism? You’re a horrific piece of shit and Todoroki owes you nothing. He’s his own person. And that’s not you so. Crawl back into the sewer you spawned in and never come back out.

At this point, from what I've seen, Izuku would get shit on for standing up for himself against Bakugo. He gets shit on for breaking his body, and then criticised for finally mastering his quirk, shit on for relying too much on everyone else then shit on for going "solo". People criticise him for being reckless and stupid when his entire mission was backed by adults he trusted. People have been trauma dumping on him since the beginning but once he breaks from his own trauma, he's called 'loose in the head'. Some people hate him for "poking his nose into Todoroki fam business" when he was dragged headfirst into it by Shoto, who needed an outsider he trusted to encourage his own autonomy and not what he should do. Shouto is trying hard to not be his dad, and Izuku was the first to stand up for him against Endevour, gave him such a fight that made him forget about his dad in a battle. Yes, Shoto criticized him for being a meddler, but Izuku has done his meddling with sensitivity and good intentions and has brought happiness to Shoto's life and saved Iida and Kota from certain death.
I watch/read the manga from the MC's perspective because he seems to have a lot of appreciation for the world around him and so I enjoy what every character has to offer. I understand there is discourse in fandoms, that's normal, healthy even and I'm just expressing my own opinions. People are allowed to think whatever they want, I'm not here to change minds.
Horikoshi writes character and their arcs really well, but I'm confused on what he intends to do with his MC. That poem he says inspired Deku is unfairly tragic.
Katsuki: The trauma made you kind.
Izuku: Fuck that. No. I am kind because I cannot allow anyone to go through what I did. I am soft because I chose to be. Trauma made me scared, angry, and vulnerable. I made myself kind.
Oh god yes. I love this and I can so see it happening.
Bakugou has a habit of trying to make himself look good and make things ALL about himself. It's easy to see him claiming to have only good intentions about treating Izuku badly, that he knew Izuku would need it to not be bitter.
Izuku throwing it into his face, teeth bared and not backing down? Yes, just... yes.

idk i just hate the fact that in the end, izuku gets punished for the same behavior that society shoeboxed him into.
whether you believe that izuku's overly self-sacrificial nature is a result of him constantly being told that he was worthless/the bullying he endured up until high school, or if you believe it's just from the pressure of being the final holder of one for all, he's still literally just a kid.
look at everything going through his mind rn:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so many things to worry about, all of which were placed on his shoulders by others. even if banjo dismisses her words, nana herself says "my own feelings place a heavy burden on him" . and like, yeah! you placed a moral dilemma on a high schooler! honestly, every single adult in izuku's life has failed him, aside from maybe??? his own mother.
and who gets the blame for it? izuku. izuku is the one who's screwed up in the head, who never takes himself into account. izuku the one who was literally told by his greatest idol, that if he didn't keep the secret of one for all, that he'd put literally everyone he loves' life in danger. izuku who, at the ripe age of what? 15? 16? has to contemplate the morality of killing vs saving the life of someone who he knows was once just an innocent kid like him. izuku who tried to save someone, and they literally blew up in his face a couple chapters ago.
so no, i don't think izuku is "acting crazy" or is out of character at all. on the outside his actions seem extreme, but who izuku currently is in the manga is just the accumulation of everything he's gone through finally erupting to the surface. this is his outside reflecting his traumatized inside, from his physical appearance to the way he speaks to his closest friends. i think it's the most honest and raw izuku has ever been as a character.
anyways, a deku vs 1-a fight is going to happen regardless, but i just want one 1, literally one, character to acknowledge to his face that izuku isn't to blame for anything that's happening, that they care about him beyond his status as a fellow hero in training, that he's important not just because he needs to defeat all for one, but because he's him.
Tumblr media
clearly they believe it. so please for the love of everything, just say it to him 😭

Chapter 320 or why it is better than thought but not great
As last time I talked about my opinion with chapter 319 this time I will talk about chapter 320. This is my opinion. I do not claim it to be the absolute undeniable truth. This piece might be seen as Anti Bakugou so again it is under the cut and the tags are added so they can be filtered out.

Izuku's flaws
Warnings to 320 spoilers
I just realized but Class 1A isn't just trying to appeal to Izukus strength and their concerns for him to have him come home and rest. They're trying to show him they acknowledge him as a leader of their class.
Izuku has many experiences with each of his class mates that he's helped them grow. But he views his mere presence with his classmates almost as an undeserving privilege. He will constantly pause and go say quietly, 'I'm so blessed'
Tumblr media
Izuku's whole life has been dedicated to appreciating quirks. He knows their value cause hes lived so long appreciating from the sidelines without one. He's been able to look at them and go 'what can that do?" And his classmates have benefitted from it for no other reason but Izuku wants to help them. He sees them in a greater light one with more value than his own.
Tumblr media
Izuku doing the lone wolf hero has pulled him out of his element, his nature is not just to help people but lead them as a friend but all he's doing is fighting alone.
Izuku currently struggles with the fear that those he's come to love and cherish will die. He's attempting to keep them out of the equation because he follows his feelings. If he's sad he cries, if he's happy he smiles. If he feels dangerous to his loved ones he leaves. He'll cut himself from every relationship if possible.
Tumblr media
He's been unable to consider himself as a tactical leader because he's always considered himself as struggling to keep up. Struggling to follow Katsuki, t be strong enough to inherit ofa, to maintain his quirk, to measure up to All Might, to save everyone. It's been a focus on what he has to become for so long he's ended up isolated and alone. He doesn't see that these others that look up to him are his equals. He still doesn't realize power isn't what makes someone a hero.
Tumblr media
He is not just the next All Might working till his stomach gets blown out of his body, he is a student, a classmate, a son, a friend, a rival.
I am here. Pretty lonely and burdensome for only one person to say. Izuku shouldn't have to live as some lone untouchable symbol of peace. He probably the last holder of OFA and the loss of All Might has visibly torn apart the worlds confidence in heroes in a matter of months. It is not safe to only rely on one person or to be the one person everyone relies on. It will tear everything apart.
Tumblr media
I hope that Izuku wins this fight against his classmates but returns by his own choice. In so doing its him choosing to acknowledge that the class doesn't just care for him, but they also respect him. He isn't All Might and he shouldn't try to be All Might. He needs to accept the value of himself and the care of those around him.

Before I start, this is in no offence to anyone else’s opinion. You are all valid and probably make more sense than me. This is a bit of a rant and then a short character study.
Warning: This got too long.
I tend to come online for manga updates and ended up reading through opinion posts because I am a curious cat. Most of the time I come across really well-thought out posts, really valid points. But then MHA is also a soap opera/family drama where the main character is not supposed to have any progress in his story unless its to bolster or move along the other favs . But then they shouldn’t be bolstering his story either because why is a story about Deku’s journey all about Deku?
But then there are people who are happy Deku is finally edgy and they want him to wipe the floor with his classmates who love him and are willing to fight him if only to get through to him. So there are both extremes and honestly there is validity in all these thoughts because despite the writer’s intentions, a reader brings the story to life.
I personally hate making my own predictions because most of the time I feel it ruins the experience of reading a work for me. I go in with different expectations and when the story goes a different way I don’t enjoy it as much but I feel its more my fault.
So I do understand and respect the difference of opinion because there is no fandom without discourse.
In my opinion though, this Deku solo arc was a long time coming and I think Horikoshi has handled it really weird. I’m still trying to understand what he wants us to think about.
A story about heroes and putting your life on the line for someone else is controversial, but, I thought it was a given. Recklessness had been part of Deku’s character but an overly-cautious character would do nothing. Deku’s lack of self-preservation wasn’t unnatural for a hero, he rushed in to save Bakugo from the slime-villain when Pros stood by putting himself at risk but it spurred AM to act. Katsuki experienced it as well during the war arc, when his body moved to save Deku.
Going to Kamino to save Bakugo was suicidal, reckless and potentially flawed but story-wise it made sense. How is hero-work anything than risky? Kirishima and Todoroki initiated it.
Disclaimer: Deku, Bakugo, Uraraka, Momo, Toga and Shigaraki are characters that are very dear to me because they have had me extremely invested since the beginning of the story. This is my personal opinion, flaws, rant... basically me working through my feelings about this manga I had been obsessed with recently.
1) There is an opinion where Bakugo had a right to be upset/angry/bully Deku because he wanted to be a hero but did nothing for it. Firstly, I don’t understand the need to justify his behaviour when he himself has expressed regret on it. People want others to move on from the “go jump off the roof comment” but won’t stop talking about how everything about Bully Bakugo was justified. Deku was weaker, but he had the same dreams, dreams that were the basis of their friendship earlier on. Regardless of how Deku wanted to achieve them, Bakugo had no right to keep trying to stop him from doing so. No, 5, 10, 14 year old Bakugo did not do so because he had the brilliant foresight that Deku would be self-sacrificial and it was for his sake, he was an angry kid and Deku was a timid, wannabe that confused him, intimidated him even. Taking out his anger was a way of working through those feelings. He was in Deku’s words “a punching bag”. In a world where the powerful reign, Bakugo couldn’t understand how a quirk less, weak little boy could think he could stand shoulder to shoulder with someone as gifted as Bakugo. Yeah, society is very much to blame. The change and maturity Bakugo goes through where he is humbled by a cast of amazing hero students who are just as gifted yet with inspiring personalities and then traumatic consequences of being kidnapped, watching his hero use the last of his powers to hold back a great evil, having that fight with Deku where he bared himself open, failing the licensing exam, training with todoroki, the internship... the war has changed him in a way that has brought out his full potential as a hero and a person. There is a lot to admire about him yet I see so many people fixate on headcanons that glorify his every action/word instead of praising the amazing person he has become/how well written his growth has been.
2) “Deku wanted to be a hero and he did nothing for it”. “He could have been a quirkless hero like Batman.” Listen, the story is about AFO vs OFA first and foremost. Hori has done a good job of worldbuilding and adding a cast of interesting characters that its easy to forget what the main plot point of the story is. But it really is about a weak/timid boy who was born with a sort of handicap who dared to dream to be someone strong enough to have others rely on him instead. A lot of the times people want to become something they feel they needed, someone who gave people hope just by existing. Its natural for someone who is ‘considered useless’ to want to be the most useful person ever. His mother didn’t believe he could do it, Bakugo told him repeatedly he shouldn’t even try, everyone else made fun of him, and his hero gave him a wake-up call, no... you can’t be a hero without a quirk. Deku studied heroes and quirks all his life, hoping he’d find something that could work for his advantage. Not every hero relies on physical strength, their bodies are adapted to the nature of their quirks. Deku’s analysis, quick-thinking and impulsive nature is what helped him progress even after getting the quirk because he didn’t gain control until really late. People act like he was handed power, seem to forget he has just learned to use it without consequences. His studies of quirks also made him the best candidate to get new quirks, quirks that he has learned to utilise as tools quickly and efficiently. He was doing what he thought was going to help him become a hero without guidance, without backing and constant discouragements. Its admirable and relatable. If you don’t relate to him that’s fine, your life was different.
Batman was loaded. Deku is not an inventor. The Editors shot that idea down because it would not have survived in a genre where power fantasies are the main hooks. Aizawa, sure he’s training Shinso because he sees his potential now but he would have either expelled Deku/moved him to General studies on that first day for scoring the least in that test. He changed his mind not because of Deku’s quirk but because of Deku’s ingenuity.
When Deku did find his guidance, he tried to do years of work/training in a short period of time. He acknowledges how far behind he is, that the rest are leagues above him and all he wants is to be able to stand side by side with those incredible people and he would go to all lengths to do so. DEKU has never said he wants to be the number one hero. He always says he wants to be one so reliable he saves people with a smile and later on, he wants to be a hero that can save without having other people worry about him. Bakugo works hard, he’s not just exceptional he works hard for it, all of 1A do but saying Deku does nothing when he is constantly shown, studying, training his body, understanding his shortcomings and working on it is just petty. You don’t like him because of his saviour complex, newsflash, that is a hero thing. Hero course is about that, Deku’s is just highlighted because of how often he gets hurt. How can you be a Todoroki stan and hate Deku (although to be fair its your right, I’m just making a point), the kid saw Shouto and decided that it was more important for Shouto to stop hurting and gave him a hell of a fight. I still remember Shouto’s smile, it gave me goose bumps.
Deku’s lack of self-preservation is a part of his programming so much that he hasn’t noticed it yet. Deku broke his bones, but he didn’t realise the permanent damage. When Deku got injured with Muscular, he was never intending to fight him alone. He wanted backup, his phone was broken and he wanted to get Kouta out and tried but Muscular gave him no opening. He was driven into a corner and fought his way out. Like Aizawa said, “He got that injured because he has no intention of dying.” Before rushing to find Bakugo, he informed his superior first, knowing she can spread the message.
The fight with Stain, he messaged his location to all his classmates, didn’t intend to fight Stain alone, just defend Iida long enough for help to come along. Fight with overhaul, he just wanted to get Eri away and when he understood Eri’s power, he gave her the opportunity to fight back against her oppressor by teaming up with him, keeping her secure with the cape made out of Lemillion’s hair. During the whole fight he was present-minded enough to take the fight away from civilians and managed to prevent damage and casualties. During Natsuo’s rescue he played support.
During the war arc, he realised with despair that Shigaraki was coming in all his destructive glory for him and tried to stop him before but he didn’t object to Bakugo joining him. In the movie Heroes Rising (the initially planned ending) he willingly gave OFA to Bakugo, because he trusts him with his life, and was willing to be quirkless again if that’s what it took to keep the kids safe, and himself and Bakugo alive. Its mostly been good decisions on his part.
Its the war arc that’s been his downfall. Watching his childhood friend/rival almost die, his best friend, his mentors almost die while he could barely hold Shigaraki back set off a fight or flight response in him. The seriousness of how Shigaraki came for him and left such death and destruction in his wake because he was not strong enough and AFO is a monster and the sight of Shigaraki and the reality of his situation pushed him down the current path. His solo arc started well because constantly training in the field has helped him master his quirk, and he had the backup of the vestiges who trained and guided him in learning to use it as a toolset instead of a one-punch solution. Then coming face to face with the flaws of hero society and the power, manipulative nature and destructive intentions of AFO has prepared him emotionally. He is not acting like AM, he hasn’t in a while. He is acting like NANA and i don’t blame him because she’s in his head. No adult stopped him from doing this, instead using him as bait to lure out the league.
When they started realising he’s spiralling out of control, that’s when they realised they messed up.
He’s running on adrenaline/fumes alone and I think he’s actually terrified.
“AFO is OFA’s responsibility” “Tell the world I am here” “You’re not as strong as me yet,” “You are not a worthy successor”
Deku isn’t self-centered and but I agree with the screw loose comment (its years of “you are useless, not good enough, not worthy and I bet a dozen or so concussions, bloodloss, dehydration lol). I know Bakugo means well and that’s how he talks. At the moment, he’s probably the only one whose sole goal is Deku’s survival. Deku’s like a wild animal, terrified, lost and as always backed into a corner. AFO has him where he wants him and I am curious to see how class 1 A are going to get through to him. I don’t want them to fight, all those fanarts of Bakugo reaching his hand out to Deku and then maybe punching him in the face would have been a lot better then the mocking (the slow clap was a little triggering for me) but again maybe it just bothers me and Deku needs it. I’ll just have to wait and see. Deku and his class together would be an unstopabble force and I am waiting for that to finally happen.
P.S. Class 1 A looks so mature, everyone going crazy about Bakugo and his tie and I’m here like, look at baby Kirishima and his roots <3
I’m sorry if I gave anyone a headache lol.

My thoughts summed up perfect in this post. Thanks OP.
Some stuff before the chapter gets released
Seeing the chapter spoilers comes out, I think it's high time that I give a few hot takes before everything goes forward.
1: All Might is a flawed person but he's not a bad person, he's someone who struggles with his inner turmoil. All Might also understand that he's placed an extremely heavy burden on Izuku shoulder; and has been trying to help Izuku ever since he realised AFO was alive. To All Might defence, he thought AFO was dead when he gave Izuku One for All and never wanted Izuku to have to face AFO or Shigaraki ever. Could he have done things better, YES, but he's also only human and every well-written character has flaws. Also, All Might was trying to help Izuku out every way he could, getting him to take a rest and eat before Izuku blew him off.
2: Class 1-A have every right to be mad at Izuku, he pulled an extremely dick move, just up and leaving them with a letter explaining this huge secret; and then practically ghosting them. Any reasonable person would be mad. That being said though it's not like Izuku doesn't have a good reason for leaving them, and they need to handle this with care. Because even though Izuku needs help, the answer might not be dragging Izuku back to UA and keeping him there.
3: All for One is still a huge threat, and you be a fool to think he has not planned for Izuku classmates and friends to come for him. I think people are missing this huge elephant in the room; All for One has been shown trying to isolate Izuku away from people and make him desperate and panicky. There a reason Izuku doing this, it's not because he wants to, but because he has to because AFO has shown he willing to hurt the people Izuku cares about. I should also mention that AFO likely has all of class 1-A on ragdoll quirk: Search; because she likely had them on Search before her quirk got stolen. (and we known this because Tomura mentioned that during the war arc). Even if Class 1-A were to convince Izuku to come with them, don't think AFO won't let Izuku go that easily.
And finally, the one that going to piss off the stans the most:
4: I think people are putting more faith in bakugou than he deserves. Look bakugou has come a long way since coming to UA, but he still has some major flaws, especially when it comes to Izuku. The thing is Bakugou knows what Izuku is like, he knows that Izuku is someone that puts others before himself, has no self-preservation skills, and doesn't take himself into account. (Which I should also add is something bakugou likely worsened with his years of bullying, sorry stans but a big part of that is bakugou faults). But then, the thing is Bakugou doesn't know how to really deal with that, to put it bluntly:
Bakugou knows the problem, but not the solution!
And as much as people say that it happened in the first chapter, Bakugou still has yet to apologise for his actions against Izuku. What Bakugou is doing at the moment isn't going to reach Izuku, if he wants Izuku to listen to him, he's got to change his way of doing things. I hope Class 1-A has more of an impact than bakugou, but once again they also need to be careful with what they do next if they are going to get Izuku the help he needs.
Also, side notes this arc has been great, and for any Deku haters, can you just shut up, for real. This might shock those people, but a lot of others have been waiting for an arc like this and are enjoying it. I get it that you might not like him, but others do, and it disrespectful to people who like having Izuku be a sole focus for once. If people have such an issue with it you can happily read the rest of the manga and wait for your fav to show up in silence.

can I not reblog this a thousand times because this is *FACTS*
Every single person who complained deku needs character growth now complaining about these recent chapters focusing on deku and complaining he's being stupid and disrespectful like just say you hate the protag and move on

Theres something uncomfortable about people saying that deku, a kid who was beat up, neglected, and ignored for most of his life until he got a quirk mind you, needs to be fucking punched or “beaten some sense into him” for this arc. Especially by Todoroki, Uraraka, or bkg.
Like imagine if people started saying that shit about Shouto?! Ridiculous! Just goes to show you nobody cares about his own neglected trauma and only about him propping up shitty favs.
PLEASE SPEAK ON IT NONNIE!!!!
Tumblr media
like, i was thinking about it last night and i don't remember if i made this point on here or tumblr, but you genuinely cannot trust anyone else in this fandom BESIDES IZUKU STANS to treat him well :/ like you said, so many people really just use izu to uphold their own favorite character(s), and in doing that, they're really ignoring/undermining/dismissing the shit izuku's gone through because???????? in what world does it make sense for izuku's friends and loved to HIT HIM as a way to??????? fix anything???? like, it's less trouble to just say you hate his character at this point lmao

I'm honestly a little impressed how so many people in the BNHA community forgot who it's protagonist was and are now surprised that a series' protag is getting screentime and *finally* getting their chance to shine.
What impresses me is how nothing Izuku does is ever the right thing. He is too focused on saving people? Weak MC. He is too emotive and not assertive enough? Boring. He isn't strong enough? Not a good MC. He gets several quirks? Too OP. He heads out on his own? Reckless. He doesn't hesitate to fight? He is irresponsible and obviously can't be trusted on his own.

Some people: deku hasn't had any character growth in ages
Deku: has literally abandoned his dream of being a hero and left all his friends behind after becoming disillusioned with the current systems inability to deal with villains and strikes out on his own to deal with the problems none of his mentors who he used to admire so much could deal with
people look deku's subtle character development in the face and go "if he doesnt turn completely edgy or side with the villains or kill heroes or some other wild out of character stuff its bad writing" because hes changed a lot. he is really different from the deku we knew from the beginning of the series - but some people will never learn

This will never not be relevant -_-
fascinated by how so many people are Big Mad™ that deku doesn't want to drag his friends, who, like himself, are only teenagers (kids!! minors!! not even old enough to be considered young adults yet!!) who all just started formally training with their quirks a year ago, who aren't being targeted by mr demon king himself and a literal god of destruction who can annihilate anything with a touch of a hand, into a battle that could very much kill anyone involved? as if it isn't clear that even tho deku told his mom that he was going to come back, that this team up w the top 3 + all might is a whole ass suicide mission...? and he knows that. you can see it in his eyes and the way he's carrying himself now, that he understands it's not all fun and games anymore.
some of you really think deku should say "kacchan, shouto, uraraka, etc. come w me even though the big bad clearly have no remorse for the atrocities that they've done. also I'm gonna try and save shigaraki but he totally might still try to kill me and anyone else standing in his path. lol let's go besties!" like huh?
