It also speaks volumes that Mason mentioned pitching it during s1. I assume it may have to do with his own feelings and identity in some ways, seeing as there’s such a lack in positive queer Black boy characters. Particularly if they are bi/pan. And even more so when it comes to Black boys in interracial relationships. For whatever reason, tv loves to pair PoC with a white person, and think it’s still peak revolutionary.

Of course I understand that interracial relationships with one white partner are still heavily frowned upon, but we don’t have to continue making that the standard. It’s okay for networks to branch out. Victor is a Brown latino boy, so them writing him dating or even considering new feelings for a Black boy would be a big deal.

I’d love to see Andrew and Victor bonding, and both of them realizing they might like each other. Even better if Andrew is already out to Mia, so the only drama comes from her childhood ex-boyfriend now liking her high school ex-boyfriend, and not another closeting issue.

Extra better if throughout the seasons we see the whole group step into their queerness, but I highly highly highly doubt that’ll happen.
