I love magical embroidery, it's such an underrated artform.

双面三异绣 shuāng miàn sān yì xiù  is a new genre of suzhou double-sided embroidery. It is done on both sides, but the patterns, stitches and colors are different, hence the name 双面三异绣( literally double-sided triple difference embroidery). Honestly that scene really confused me.

Jiao Liqiao represents Lust and that’s her weapon. Being the 2nd prettiest woman after Qiao Wanmian served actual purpose to get her personal agenda going.

She was able to get people like Biqiu, Zongzheng Mingzhu, enchanted by her beauty to do things for her. Besides her beauty, using poison is one of her forte.

Recently in Weibo, someone pointed out the reason Shan Gudao’s explosion was not because of his Qi energy but due to the same poison she inflicted on the guy who brought the Styx flower to DFS outside Di Mansion.

Meaning, Shan Gudao unknowingly was poisoned before his death.

Now, that explained why everyone was shocked. Because even if he did have qi deviation, they should have expected it.

I think the fact that the person who fishes him out of the river is literally blind and yet still manages to return him to Li Lianhua is just the icing on the cake.

There is something so iconic about Di Feisheng, upon being betrayed by his subordinates and about to pass out from poison, being like, the obvious best plan of action is to write if found, return to Li Lianhua on his palm, and then to just lay down in a river and hope whoever finds him can get him to Li Lianhua, his mortal enemy who he dreams of killing in battle, and on whom he has what can only be described as a homoerotic fixation.

Part of me really wanted them to complete the parallel by having FDB get seriously hurt. But I knew it wouldn't have worked because LLH was getting worse every day and they couldn't really have two extremely sick people. They did touch on the parallel by having FDB get kidnapped though.

Do you ever wonder if when Fang Duobing breaks up with Li Lianhua and leaves in ep 27, Li Lianhua flashes back to when Shan Gudao got mad and left Sigu Sect? Do you you ever wonder if he tried to chase after him so he wouldn't watch Fang Duobing die after he leaves just like his father, or did he decide to go back and cut off any relation to Fang Duobing thoroughly so people wouldn't hurt him to get to Li Lianhua?
