Inequinox, in equinox
That familiar feeling is back,
I don't know where it went, it just disappeared with the summer wind;
The long days and spring hue,
inbound, an ebbing year of torque and painful motion,
until the thick dawn sneered at me again.
Solving nothing,
solving something,
it's meaningless, a game
-less of prideless euphoric eutrophic mania.
Letting the dust settle,
until that feeling is back.
I see such familiar faces,
as a lyre plays softly,
a song more wise,
than a kid in the spring hue.
That feeling is back,
confronting it head on, I
shallow
-lessly
find a breath of courage as flowers bloom,
and I can lay rest to the euphoric eutrophic pacifism of yesteryear
and the hippie I dreamed to become,
in a revelry
-lessly
until the spring comes for the final time.

Living with the Depths of Dev
I can control this world,
make decisive decisions of here and there;
A king in the gambit,
punctuator here,
punctuator there,
living decisively with no riches to bear.
I control my world,
through the perils of dusk and dawn,
living at the bottom of the city;
Living decisively,
flipping the coin of tyranny and prosperity,
when all that glitters reaches my depths:
The samsara repeats;
I can control this world,
the runtime of creativity—
the glitch of homogeneity—
the life I dreamed to orbit me.

Minimum Wage Hero's Journey
We all start in the classroom;
A spontaneously growing society of canvases
bound to metal chairs
amid an epidemic,
of these children, their expectations so slim.
Despite this, there’s a kid,
ever-so desperate to find "him."
Pathetically, murmuring to myself,
I put this mathematics book back on the shelf.
Empty is the only word that can describe it;
Dying dreams, where nothing gleams,
I'm stuck ripping at my seams.
These things I’m hearing
of others more accomplished than I
leave me desperate to think of something.
I stare in fear, standing in the bathroom
at the person who stares back in that colorless mirror.
I feel like I’m wasting my time,
so I’ll settle as a minimum wage worker,
getting paid by the boss that makes thousands
ignoring my lifelong loss.
Until I can find who I am,
I’ll sit lifelessly,
surfing the internet, morning to evening
middle-aged to my gurney,
on this hopeless minimum wage hero's journey.

Relapsing, Eclipsing and Reminiscing
I fear your return,
a terminal glistening of divinity;
I fear as the time I mourned resurfaces,
facing me face-to-face with that face of despair.
Kilometric peripherals,
an algorithm I beg to bend,
and no matter how much sunscreen I apply,
I just can't seem to leave my past.
If I could write to my past self,
I'd assure him:
the only narcissistic egomaniac
was the caricatures you'd come to know.
I can only try:
a Fahrenheit to Celsius,
a wannabe Plato,
a confused nomad as to why it's still my fault.
This eclipse was not beautiful,
it was a little script of lies, and discomfort,
to which I found
not even the sun loved me anymore.

The Path of Most Resistance
A mouse in a maze game,
searching for a beacon;
A sign,
to let me know you're still there.
I'll walk this path of the greatest resistance
to find the face that I promise will smile again.
The foreign walls may be treachery,
but a life without you
is treacherous evermore.

Somewhat Dreaming of a Semi-Narcoleptic Pseudo-Impossible Sympathetic Truancy
There's a birdie,
off it goes to the gray hued sunset;
a fading silhouette unto mine or yours, now our next semi-vivacious dreamscape.
My sense of self in shambles, as I recall my value on life itself,
things looked like they were spinning, and you seemed okay.
The world decays, and you just let it take you by surprise.
A little sympathetic, though failing a sympathetic pipe dream game
There's no one inside you, so no one will find you,
so what purpose is confidence?

Egoism
Hell surrounds you in this year,
and I swear I'm on the frontlines, raising my American flag.
I don't care
when I see my peers die,
it's part of being American.
Who cares?
Who cares when I make them suffer,
solving the turmoil of the throne
an otherworldly, ungodly commission
pests and peasants,
a Facebook noir
the fucking press,
mock my "hurt" and call my bluff.
Hell surrounds us,
forty dead at this week's school shooting.
I try to forget screaming from a locked gate,
the fucking press,
fearmongering
but you'll need me, and I'll make you love me,
as our democracy becomes an aristocracy.

The NERVOUS System
Through the thicket of man,
my signals go unnoticed.
Crying from the rigor
of this perilous guessing game
I only ask who's built up this phony.
At the end of time,
you've found you lost yourself,
and I just can't help that.

Orchid Alchemy
Years of dust
settle on dead skin.
On the shelf, the permanence of an afterthought
I swore I could nurture;
Synced up,
what can I really do
other than regress into the person
who reigned these puppet strings.
It's my fault,
it's her fault,
let's cavort with our own pride.

City of Gray
Until the sun had set for the final time,
at a time where we relished in immaturity,
we built a city of our passion.
I only wish that passion
was from the same peace of mind
that I saw when I was infatuated.
Here lies our city,
a city of gray,
which we'd look over from our mountain porch.
Here lies our city,
and my memories of the time spent with you.
A corrupt society, with a rift and betrayal,
I only wish we could appreciate it one more time.
