Something about the fact that the Loki writers have confirmed multiple times that his variants all look so different because of their inherit chaotic nature.
Something about the fact that it says in the show that the universe wants to be free so it manifests chaos in the form of Lokis.
Something about the fact that Loki is the TVA’s most common variant because every version of them refuses to adhere to their ‘destiny’.
Something about the fact that there was a scene in the show where Ravonna said “this is about order & chaos. I’m order-“ and then a loki variant violently burst in, implying “I’m chaos.”
Something about the fact that the entire story arc of the Loki series was about him choosing to free the sacred timeline & embrace all the anarchy & endless possibilities- positive & negative- that came with it instead of continuing to enforce the absolute order that would keep them all safe.
Something about Loki literally sacrificing himself so chaos could reign.
Something about the fact that Loki tried for years to beat He Who Remains through playing by his rules, and was only able to do it when he came up with a solution so insane that HWR didn’t anticipate it.
Something about the fact that messing with people’s minds & using tricky and unorthodox means of fighting has always been Loki’s Thing.
Something about the fact that at least one loki variant has the natural ability to rewrite the laws of time, space, and reality.
Something about the fact that Loki is literally the god of chaos- in the series, in the comics, and in Norse mythology.
And also..
Something about the fact that all of Wanda’s variants look and act exactly the same.
Something about the fact that the TVA never mentioned Wanda whatsoever despite her being a Reality Breaking Cosmic Anomaly.
Something about the fact that Wanda fans thought her reading the Darkhold caused the multiverse to open but Kevin Feige confirmed it was Sylvie killing He Who Remains that opened the multiverse, and in turn allowed Wanda to hear her kids through the Darkhold.
Something about the fact that Wanda almost always uses her ‘chaos magic’ to control people/events & bend reality to her will, which directly contradicts the meaning of chaos.
Something about the fact that Wanda has never once had any sort of symbolic arc or subplot or character dive directly linking her to chaos as a concept.
Something about the fact that the only thing about Wanda you could consider overtly chaotic is her propensity to go on destructive rampages when she doesn’t get her way.
And finally..
Something about the fact that, in the mcu, Wanda is constantly awarded with the chaos moniker- they decided to keep the ‘chaos magic’ name from the comics, fans call her the queen of chaos, and she gets credited as the token reality breaker pretty much constantly… while they’ve never even acknowledged on-screen that Loki’s the literal God of Chaos.

i just got to what if s2 and why did they have to do that little weird w4nd4/loki bit 😭 it was so meaningless, is that like dog bone for shippers
I think it was like partially a reference to the recent comic issue where they’re dating, partially because they’re like the top two fan favorite characters right now, and partially just to throw a crumb to the fans who’ve been begging to have them onscreen together for years now. But yeah… definitely not my favorite 😬 lmao
Honestly, though, I’m kinda glad that- if anything- they’re establishing them (ish??) as friends. Because if they had them on opposite sides fighting each other- with marvel’s history of nerfing Loki & overhyping Wanda- I know damn well they’d have her beat his ass.
Like the plot armor would be so insane. They’d have a full 7 minute scene of just her doing all kinds of magic stuff while he throws knives and flips his hair. Which is unrealistic and insulting and would just.. send me over the fucking edge 🙂.
So yeah. I don’t like it, but as long as they’re not actively pushing the ‘Wanda solos’ agenda, I don’t hate it either.

After a decade of reading fanfics where Thanos uses Loki’s identity & parentage to psychologically torment him, finding out that he canonically had no clue whatsoever that Loki was adopted- much less an entirely different species- is actually so hilarious.
imagine being Thanos and you get completely conned by this Asgardian Prince sorcerer guy you tortured and left with a mind-addling infinity stone years ago and when you chase him down 10 years later you find out he wasn't even Asgardian or their Prince the entire time

Something-something, Thor and Loki are brothers who genuinely love each other, but they don't like each other, something-something-

I’m so intensely curious about what exactly happened here though. Like did he step on a piece broken glass? Did he kick something with his bare foot? Did you go crazy and carve his foot up on purpose?
Also, the rest of it. Did he like.. rip his own clothes up like that with his hands? Or was it just a side effect of all the debris violently flying around the cell? Did he use telekinesis to destroy everything or did he just throw stuff around? At what point did he decide to remove his vest and shoes? What are the grey smudges on the wall supposed to be? Old faded dried blood or smeared food or burn marks of some sort? Did his hair get disheveled from all the movement or was he actively snatching on it? I have to know.
Tumblr media
For all the mockery over the berries thing, I’m pretty sure they’re there to avoid showing blood while still suggesting bleeding: there’s almost no blood during any of the deaths or injuries in the movie, and that was intentional. The berries are a fig leaf on Loki’s self injury.

Oooh. This, but also:
Every one of Loki’s “deaths” was him actively choosing to die. He committed suicide, he sacrificed himself for Thor once, and then he sacrificed himself for Thor again.
And in addition to the sense of loss, the level of guilt that has to cause Thor every single time… like ‘my brother chose to die because he thinks I hate him’, ‘my brother chose to die because I wasn’t strong enough to kill Kurse’ ‘my brother chose to die because I wasn’t strong enough to kill Thanos.’ That’s some heavy self blame to deal with over and over and over again. And you know Thor blames himself for everything, all the time.
So after years of hating himself because ‘my brother decided to die because of something I did’, Loki just pops back up and either acts like he’s the aggrieved party & he hates Thor for something Thor doesn’t fully understand, or he acts like it was all a big joke and Thor’s the unreasonable one for making a big deal out of it. From his pov, I can see why Thor would wanna beat Loki’s face in.

||. "It’s because losing Loki was so traumatic and Loki acts like nothing happened." - a meta that i just read and YEAH yeah yeah !! catch me about to throw hands ... nobody ever talks about this ENOUGH

Oooh somehow I never noticed that with Clint.
I never got the sense that Loki was entirely mind controlled at all- before or during the invasion- but he was definitely feeling some side effects just like the avengers on the helicarrier, as you said. I mean, I feel like if they had been in close proximity to the sceptre for any major length of time, they would become even more erratic and volatile… and I think that’s basically what happened to him.
My headcanon is kinda complicated, though, cause we know a.) Loki has some serious mind control magic of his own, and b.) Loki was supposed to be an expert on how the stones worked. I think his continued exposure to an aggression-fuelling weapon juxtaposed by his deep understanding of how that weapon fuelled aggression, combined with his own innate resistance to mind control & his own innate mind control powers….. that created a very interesting situation. Like his magic was constantly fighting the effects of the stone in self defense but also attracting the power of the stone as a similar energy source. He was much more in control of his thinking & faculties than the others, but simultaneously his emotions were much more dysregulated.
Like everything else about him in this movie, his relationship with the sceptre was full of contradictions.
I was watching Avengers the other day and noticed something I haven't ever joined the dots on before.
In this shot of Barton just before he shoots the arrow at the helicarrier, he's pale, sweating, and has dark circles under his eyes. I can only assume this is due to having been under the influence of the sceptre for the last few days.
Tumblr media
And then there's this more familiar shot of Loki having just come through the tesseract's portal...
Tumblr media
...pale, sweating, and with dark circles under his eyes.
Barton still has those bright blue eyes that indicate he's under the direct influence of the sceptre, and Loki doesn't.
So what I'm concluding from this is that Loki was recently under the direct influence of the sceptre just before he was sent to earth.
This direct control was removed before he was sent, but he remains under the more indirect influence that the sceptre has on people nearby (e.g. the Avengers on the helicarrier). We see his physical health improve the longer he's on earth, which would work with this theory, and this is the same as how Barton recovers after the influence is removed.
I'd never subscribed to the theory that Loki was under the direct control of the sceptre at any point during Avengers, but this makes me think it's very likely he was being directly controlled by it for a period of time shortly before he was sent to earth.
Maybe this was some form of conditioning? Maybe it's easier for the sceptre to influence someone indirectly after they've been directly connected with it? I don't know. Possibly these effects were due to something else, but since Endgame we know it's not travel by tesseract that causes this. Although there's a possibility whatever the SHIELD scientists did on this end of the portal could have had some effect. But it's just too similar a set of symptoms to be unrelated.
I curse it again that we were never given more of Loki's story with Thanos in the series or the Avengers films!!!

My best guess is that hulk just jumped back through the skyscraper window he’d shattered, Natasha came down the stairs/elevator from the roof, Clint spent the entire Tony-carrying-the-nuke-through-the-wormhole scene slowly but determinedly making his way through the streets of New York back to the tower & then presumably scaling the walls to the penthouse with his Hawkeye skills, and Thor probably airlifted Steve & Tony (because his suit was dead) to the landing platform.
I like to imagine Natasha & Clint being the first ones to get there and just like… standing in a corner watching Loki painfully crawl his way out of the crater while they wait on the others.
Tumblr media
How did they do that???
Like it's a cool shot but you can't think to hard about it or it falls apart XD
seriously, Loki was crawling towards the doors
The only other access is via the glas doors that open to the balcony/landing platform
So how am I to imagine that?
Tony airlifted everyone (including the hulk - or did he unhulk and then rehulk-) on to the balcony/landing platform
Where they waited patiently and quietly until everyone had been lifted
Steve propably counting like gandalf to make sure no one gets left behind
And then they snuk in behind Loki without making a sound, taking up position like for the yearly class picture and then they drew his attention?
Like ...
Did he notice?
Did he care?
Please someone tell me there is a crack fic out there XD

“Yall don’t know him like I know him.”
Except what I mean is that I know the character in question to be, in fact, the most irredeemable piece of shit on the whole show, and am pulling my hair out over the fact that you guys think he’s a lil pookie.

Once again thinking about the season 5 “I gave everything for you, and this is what you give to me!?” scene…
I don’t think Dean or Sam or anyone really realised the gravity of the decision cas made regarding his own future when he chose to rebel. Either they’d lose and Lucifer/Michael would kill Cas for going against them, or they’d win and while everyone else was celebrating, Cas’s family would track him down and kill him for disobedience. It was literally a lose-lose situation for him personally.
Like with Sam and Dean, at least there was somewhat of a chance that they could convince their respective archangels to let them share custody of the meat suit if they lost or they’d win and everything would be hunky dory. But with cas, there was a 100% chance he was going to die as soon as he chose to help them. Out of all the ‘good guys’, he was the one sacrificing the most to save humanity… and the kicker is he’s the only one who wouldn’t have benefited from the world being saved & wouldn’t have suffered if he’d just let it burn.
And it’s wild that like… nobody ever acknowledged it. Like ever.

how come some people write cas like he has never used a contraction before in his life. this guy starts off sentences with “well” and “umm” and people are giving him phrases like “i quite appreciate your punctual perspicacity in this corporeal matter i am in fact functioning at maximum capacity” like nooo the motherfucker would just say “yeah im fine”
