university update!
so ... i’m back at university, and am fully in the swing of the whole ‘studying’ thing again. i’m writing at quite a stressful time right now, but i’m hoping that by the next time write on here, i decided to make the right decision.
you see, i have just dropped and changed one of my modules ... halfway through the term. i honestly despised my politics based previous module, and switched it up for one looking at inequalities in society. it is currently 11:30pm and i got all the resources, etc at 9ish? and i have 5 weeks worth of lectures, reading and seminar work to catch up on in three days?
please, wish me luck!
(i am more active on my instagram by the way! - @wishfulstudying )

quarantine update
so ... there is a global pandemic? huh. did not expect my first year to end like this.
like many universities in the uk, all my examinations for this year have been cancelled. i am cautiously thankful, as i usually face a lot of anxieties surrounding end-of-years exams. however, i acknowledge not only the frustrations of students who have worked so hard to succeed in these exams, but the hardships of thousands of essential workers and volunteers around the uk, many of them being students.
i am lucky enough to be in a position where i can spend my time avoiding the chaos and reality of the situation of the world right now.
that means i have spent this time so far;
starting cross-stitching and embroidery.
taken daily walks with my mum and puppy (she’s called lily, and she’s a v good girl).
creating a drinking game for my friends similar to WNRS
but, i have also spent a stupid amount of hours;
playing mario kart 8 and odessey on my new switch! :)
reading fan-ficition
and sleeping
and that’s okay!
these are unprecedented times, and everyone copes differently. so, whether you wake up at 8am, go for a run and study or if you relax, sleep and procrastinate, well done! you’re doing great <3

04.10.2019: 34 / 100 days of productivity
My peers thought I was crazy for already watching classes online and typing them out during summer holidays, but I’m glad I did it. Now I can get to the actual studying a lot sooner, so I’ll hopefully be less stressed during my finals.

a rough week
this past week i have been struggling so much with a lack of motivation for education, and self-care. i haven’t been catching up on my lectures properly, an i have been watching so many ‘productive’ YouTubers to motivate me but instead just ends up in me feeling worse about myself.
i have had a super bad cold, and rough period pains too :( but i know that even without those, i am still super unproductive, and i’m just hating it right now.
i hope that the next time i update you all will i will be in a much better headspace <33
see you then!

12 new year month-long challenge ideas
don’t buy “extra” stuff for a month 💸 - that means no shopping for clothes, no starbucks, no restaurant dates, no random pretty stationery. buy only what you truly need.
learn a language every day for a month 🌍 - there are tons of apps and recources out there meant to help you learn a new language. don’t give up after a week long streak, make it a month!
read (x) pages every day for a month 📖 - looking at my not-even-half-done goodreads challene makes me sad, so working on reducing my tbr list is one of my top priorities this upcoming year
watch a (short) documentary every day for a month 📽 - make a new folder on youtube and add all educational videos you think you’d find interesting to it. there are countless channels out there - crashcourse, it’s okay to be smart, kurzgesagt, ted-ed (…) with variety of amazing videos
study for (x) hours every day for a month 🧠 - it’s easy not to do anything school related when you have an exam-free week, but when the time comes, you might find yourself overwhelmed with work. try to study every day, but be mindful of your mental health.
meditate every day for a month 🧘 - find a good youtube meditation coach or install an app and use it. even if it’s only three minutes a day, it could make a big difference.
work out every day for a month 🏃 - other than working on your mental health, you need to take care of your physical health as well. a workout can be anything from a simple 5-minute stretch, to a 2-hour long gym session!
reach 10k steps every day for a month 🚶 - a lot of phones have pedometers pre-installed, but if your phone doesn’t, i truly recommend getting a step counting app. go out and get some fresh air! if it’s too cold outside, you can walk around in circles in your house
drink (x) liters of water every day for a month 💧 - pure water might not be everybody’s cup of tea (hah), but an actual cup of tea might be! if you don’t like drinking plain water, make sure to get enough of it via tea, coffee, soups…
eat vegeterian/vegan every day for a month 🥗 - if you decide to do this, make sure to get informed beforehand and see if this could cause you any health problems. if it’s safe for you, prepare to be met with a lot of advantages of this lifestyle!
no chocolate/added sugar for a month 🍫 - i had a bad habit of over-snacking on sweets, but cutting just chocolate or just added sugar led me to far healthier eating habits! you don’t have to give up both at the same time!
go to sleep early & wake up early every day for a month ⏰ - or at least get no more and no less than eight hours of sleep every night! but, for example, going to sleep at 10pm and waking up at 6am is what this challenge is aiming for.

back at university
finally, i’m back!
it has been super good to be relaxing at home, but i was itching to be back and see my friends by the end of the break :)
i’m trying to get as much done as possible before term officially starts, and i know that i usually get overwhelmed at the beginning of terms. i’m sure that is something loads can relate to.
i am currently taking part in that challenge that i previously mentioned (and dreaded)  and i am really enjoying it! i’m taking time out of my researching time this evening to post this :) my team-mates are super fun and enthusiastic so i really hope we can win!
wish us luck ! 🥺

Deadlines met. Positive energy. Goodnight sleeps. Mental health together. Making connections. Coffee because you want it, not because you need it. Studying but not over studying. Good grades. Easy sailing. Building healthy relationships. Staying on top of things. Falling but getting back on track. Never giving up. Keeping your head up.

here we go
hello! i’m back here again, because i really want to make a promise to myself and so you guys can see why i’m doing this.
on the 12th (it’s the 10th today) at 10am, my four university assignments are due in. my first assignments at university. i have had since the middle of october to complete them, but i finished one today, and one day to do another one.
while this might be, and probably is, a reality for a lot of uni or college students - it isn’t what i wanted for myself. i procrastinated improving myself acedemically all through high school, and college. constantly achieving ‘just enough’ to be stay afloat but knowing i could be doing more.
but, that ends now. i will have ups and downs, on days and off days but i’m no longer willing to have all these opputunities fly past me, while i’m on hands-free mode.
after these assignments are in, i’ll have a break, sure. but i will make notes, read ahead and go back to uni after this break ready. i have decided i want to do one thing that pushes me out of my comfort zone, per term. i have signed up for a project within my uni to attempt to tackle knife crime in the uk, and honestly? i’m scared shitless, but i will force myself to go.
i’m basically just waffling this into the navy blue abyss that is tumblr, but i’ve tried everything else, so why not this?
so that’s all for now. see y’all on the other side x

a new start
hello!
welcome to my new year’s resolution.
i have always wanted to start a studyblr but due to a lack of motivation and believe it or not, studying, i haven’t made one. but that changes now. i’m in university, studying sociology in my first year. i want to be able to look back on this, so this will be sort of a diary. i’ll update as often as i can, hopefully with some raw shitty motivational posts.
2020, you’ll be my year. see you all there.
